Hi there so I have been dating this international student at university for 2 years while I was also at university.
Last night she told me she thinks she won’t get a working visa and asked if I want to marry her. Today she asked weather I can take her to the shops to look at rings because she wants to marry me. I told her I don’t want to get married to her.
A little bit of background information, her family stopped paying her rent money and she had to move in with me and my family. She has no more money and lives with me in my family house and we take care of everything for her including rent. In hindsight as I’m typing this, I realised that maybe she doesn’t want to pay money for a flat and saves the family money, but I doubt it as she said there is a coup in her country (Burma) and they have no money left for her. But I ask what type of family leaves their daughter in a foreign country without any money? Especially as her father and mother are very well off, and gave her a minimum of £100,000 for 4 years to complete her degree and master in international relations.
So because I said I don’t want to marry her, she said she will move out and find somebody else who will. This is rather shocking as we have been dating for two years. Anyway I don’t really care.
I was just wondering weather I should really marry her, I just finished my degree and have been applying for jobs. I’m just looking for a bit of advise from older people.
She said that in one year she can see herself married to me with a daughter. This kinda scares me as I still want to do a masters, work and maybe get married at around 36 not 22.

This woman sounds spoiled. You’re doing her the favor by marrying her. Remember that US citizenship is a huge life improvement for international students. Seems like she’s using you based on what you’ve written.

She has been with you for 2 years, essentially tries pressuring/guilt tripping you into marriage so she gets a VISA (which was the only thing she mentioned), no care about you or your feelings, proven by the "find somebody else who will", lmao.

As an international student she's in a tough situation. Without a work visa, she will have a significantly harder time finding a job than her citizen peers. Her request is therefore completely understandable.
I do not recommend you marry her. I have nothing against marriage at a young age (my parents married and had me and my siblings young and never regretted it and tell me to do the same) but she is clearly not the right candidate. She's threatening that if you won't she'll just marry someone else. This alone is enough to disqualify her.
