I met this chick at party last Saturday and got her number. I'll spare all the details but we texted a bit and I hit her up to hang she said she'll lmk and the day of she said she's going out with her friends. I just said "all good" and soft nexted her. Then yesterday she asks what I'm doing that night and I tell her to come over for wine.

This was only my second time having a girl over as a "first date" at my house so I was kind of figuring it out as I went along. I gave her a little tour of the house and she met two of my roommates who were in the kitchen through which we passed through. Then I pour us some wine and we chill and talk on the couch in my living room for 5-10 minutes. She then asks if we should go watch anime (we talked about doing this already) and we go into my room.

We're chilling on my bed with the lights off and watching anime from my laptop which was on my legs. We have our backs against the wall and I have my arm around her and she kind of snuggles into my chest/shoulder. I make a little bit of conversation but nothing too flirtatious (I think this was one of my mistakes) and we watched the show. I wanted to make out with her but it felt physically awkward with the laptop on my legs and our faces not being level to each other. After just one episode she tells me that she can only watch one more because she has to wake up for work at 6 am tomorrow.

I was planning on escalating once the second episode was over but she got up right away to get her stuff. She only ended up being over for about an hour.

Overall, I'm not too happy with how it went and I definitely feel like I could've done better (but hey every girl is just practice for the next). Though despite all that, she said that we should definitely watch anime again, that she wants to "come celebrate the birthday boy" at my party next week, and that I should send her a pic of the tatt I plan on getting this weekend - this was all unprompted by me so I don't think it's just her being nice. I feel like there's still hope though I'm keeping my expectations low.

How should I have handled this differently?
