I(18) have been lifting for 9 months now and I have gained about 15kg in this time.Went from super skinny(64kg) to packing on at least some muscle(85kg now and I'm 185cm,around 14% body fat).
Now I know that TRP preaches to lift heavy, but should I he doing more strength training or should I focus more on aesthetics.
Personally I like looking aesthethic, but lifting heavy ass weight got me feeling super good about myself sometimes, like I'm more positive in that sense.Maybe I should mix both of them together?

I alternate between them. to me strength training is sub 5 reps, and really pushing weights lifted. this was only after a few years of getting base strength and hypertrophic gains. the downside, you really have to bring it. and the risk of failure is higher (ie: what's more likely to go sideways, not making your 4th rep with 405 on your shoulders? or not making your 18th rep with 225 on your shoulders?)
with lower weight higher rep training you often have cardio or muscle endurance 'failures' before local fatigue failure, so it's harder to get to your 2RIR or whatever with higher volume/lower weight.
and you do get weaker with higher volume. meaning, when focused on "strength training"when i push, i can BP 285 x 10. i've been doing 6 months of hypertrophic program from Ren.Periodization and I'm bigger, but I couldn't do 285x10 when i tried it, granted at the end of a meso so i was spent, but i was like damn I'm bigger but not stronger.

bro split or push pull legs
are both great

Agree with the others. Alternate between high rep and high weight days. I know too many bodybuilding wimps and know some skinny fat powerlifters that would tear them to shreds. Functional strength with an athletic build is probably the best balance.

This reads like you are asking US what YOU want.
How about this: you tell us what you want, and we'll weigh in with opinions on how to get it.

I doubt it makes much difference....... but which to go with has to be your choice. Do you want to be stronger or look better?

You need both. More strength means more capacity for volume. More volume means more gainz.

I'd suggest PHUL or PHAT. I cycle back and forth between both. PHAT's better, but is too much volume for me to sustain indefinitely.
Both focus on 2 strength/heavy days and 2-3 hypertrophy days.
