I’m 24 and dropped out of university to work as an entrepeneur, things havnt worked out and I’m dead broke at the moment. I’m contemplating going back to university to finish my degree in politics economics and philosophy as that’s what I think I want to do. Does anyone have any thoughts on this. I’m still able to get jobs which are paying around 85k but I feel like I reach a ceiling because I don’t have a degree. I realized I want to enjoy life and live a good quality life and education is one path foward to living that life. The question is, is it worth it for me- someone who can make 80k a year to go back to school for the sake of learning and getting a piece of paper and being broke for the next 3 years while doing so. I’m also applying for scholarships to apply at international known universities but my grades which are great have expired. What are the options which are available for mature students in regards to scholarships. So I would like to know your thoughts on going back to school.
Thanks

Politics, economics and philosophy? Ok, which one? Economics, meh, the others are useless.
You lack a plan, don't go to college without a plan.
What field, type of job are you going for that I'm assuming makes over $80K/year and has a much higher ceiling.
What would it cost you, loss of salary and cost of education to achieve that (risk/reward or ROI analysis).
Then, is this what you want? doesn't have to be where you end up , y ou are only 24, you are just starting. I"m in my 3rd career in my 50's, you never stop but for each career change, I had a clear plan before I made the jumps.
A trade off between what you want out of life, lifestyle and career/job you want. I was in a job that was like disneyland for engineers but I knew it was going to end, so I moved on before it came to an end. Always try to stay ahead of trends, don't get caught with outdated skills or in dead end jobs, etc.

Philosophy Politics Economics is usually a single major in universities overseas (like OP). It's not a choice between the three lol

Economics is pretty useless too btw.
Politics is completely useless unless you want to work as a political staffer.
Philosophy is completely useless unless you want to teach.

agreed, business you have to major in something useful like analytics, or plan to get your Masters in something specialized.

You know nothing if you think economics degree is "useless." Lots of stats and math.

Study stats and math then.

85k now is worth a lot more than 85k at the end of your degree. If FIRE is your goal, and it should be, don't go back to university, there is little point.

What is FIRE- I’m looking to work in e-commerce- just need to make a bit of money to get myself off the ground. What are your thoughts?

What is FIRE?
Oh OP…

Financial independence, retire early.

I wouldn’t go back to school for those two majors. Seems like a waste of $ to me. I would study something that will help you get a better job
