Most of us can agree that college is a scam these days. Liberal arts and pseudoscience have poisoned a once great route to an education.
That said, have any of you gone back to be a Dr, Lawyer, engineer, coach, later in life?
Why did you go back and are you happy with your decision?

College help make me the best version of myself, so I don't recommend going into say history for example unless you take it all the way (phd, professorial, or as part of your passion if you pay the bills another way). But to say college is a scam tells me you don't actually understand what a university is for. I can agree with you that it's insanely overpriced and it isn't a magic bullet, but it's far from a waste for most people.

I semi-retired last year to spend more time with my kids and take them travelling. After a month I wasn’t as stimulated as usual. Not as determined. Upon reflection I realised I’m not built for a life of relaxation. Leisure. I need The Grind. So I spent some time researching what I could pursue. Before finally found a new passion/path. I’m heading back to tertiary education in 2023. With the aim to be completed by 2028, and into the industry by 2029-2030.
Best decision I ever made. As an optimist living and acting in Hope is always a great motivator. So when I created my next 10 year plan, and when I review it, I get really excited. Creates a solid positive feedback loop. Just like training every morning.
Godspeed and good luck!

Went back at 27, improved my life. But not for the reasons I thought it would. It taught me to dedicate myself to something, no matter how difficult or ridiculous it is. That is an important skill to learn.

Yes, I went back at 30 and a few years later got a great career in what I went back for. I was a scrawny idealist who just got back from global volunteering and was working at a grocery store. Found the RP at the height of my dissatisfaction with my own life, applied it to my life and succeeded far beyond what I thought was possible. At the end of the day, a job is something you can stomach and live off of comfortably, nothing more. I wish it was some sort of life fulfillment but like all things, it's fleeting at best.
