Hey guys hope everyone's doing good. It's been my wish for some time to go through basic military training which I'm planing to do this year.
Yesterday I've set things in motion and went down to local recruitment office to sign the basic paperwork, however I have doubts about which way I should go. I was always going to go to reserves as it's a good way to earn some extra cash while staying in shape so why not, my problem is I don't know wheather to sign the 3, 5 or 10 year concract or just go through basic.
I think it's a good opportunity but not sure if I should pull the trigger.
What was your experience and was it worth going into military?

I served in the U.S. Army and did 3 tours in Iraq.
I recommend against it.
It'll take a lot more from you than you'll get from it.

The military isn't rewarding, high chance you'll die, not get payed alot, be beaten by others if you don't perform well, no women to fuck, and be mistreated by ppl for being a soldier if you survive a trip and not get traumatic ptsd from war, the military is only good for one thing and that is discipline from training but even the training is so badly thought out you can break or rip something just running. I recommend work a job, work a side hustle (passion) workout , build a very cool discipline routine and learn manly skills and get a firearms license and get your own shit(car house life) and get money to live freely in the future. Don't be a retard. Why do you want to join the military when you could make a ton of money investing time to a profession that actually gives back to you?
I was in the military and I used every legal aspect go get the fuck out of it.

I'm not an american, I'm from europe. My country doesn't really engage in wars, mainly just keeps the peace and so forth. But I do see your point.

The issue here is the bad rap it gets. If you do decide, do it because of the benefits. Most people agree to this but it'll be hard not to get brainwashed and result in closemindedness after your service.

Benefits is the issue here. Don't pretend you are anything but a glorified mercenary and there is nothing wrong with that. I got two degrees from it paid close to 95%. And I did my duty. Win-win. So what will it do for you?
