I'm finding myself moving to a new country, and since I'll be new to the country I'm thinking I can save money and it'd be easy to start meeting people if I live with roommates and grow my social circle from there. But I'm close to 40 and haven't had any roommates for 10+ years, so it sounds kinda odd. Anyone has experience?

Not uncommon nowadays even in Belgium, where it was really uncommon 10 years ago. Economics factor in couples my friend.

I’m 30 and live with roommates. It all depends who you room with. You room with gamers, we’ll don’t expect much of a social circle. Honestly I’d prefer to live alone, so I can do whatever I want but I am sacrificing to save money for a house down payment.
