I hear it almost every day.
"Too much muscle mass is unattractive". Now, for me being a guy with an average height, it could be true that getting too big ruins aesthetics.
I tried to dig deeper into it.
It's true that an aesthetic physique is more pleasing to the eye, but evolutionary talking the biggest caveman had more chances to kill the "aesthetic" caveman, and rape his woman. Or am I wrong here?
What I'm trying to understand is, would women really prefer a lean guy instead of a big strong guy? Or are they saying it because it underlies something that could harm their ego? like the incapability to get such guy to fuck them because their value is probably too low?
Is there any real psychological research about all this stuff?
edit: I know "watch their actions, not their words". But what I wanted to know if there was a real research done about all this stuff. All I've found is that women prefer buff dudes for short-term dating and lean guys for long-term dating. So basically they cheat on the buff dudes while being in a relatioship with the lean guy. Nothing new here.

Sour grapes.
Don't listen the bullshit women say, pay attention to what they do.
Treat it as a shit test.

Too much is the guy's on muscle magazines that are obviously on fuck tons of roids and dehydrated to near death. Anything you can get without roids by definition can't be too big. So unless you are on roids ignore.
That doesn't mean however that you shouldnt focus to balance your body.
If you are on roids evaluate if perhaps you have bigarexia

That idea is bullshit. Usually I've found that plates you're spinning are intimidated by your gains. They don't understand that guys aren't motivated by hypergamy. All they can see is improvement which = you getting a higher SMV partner. This is low level dread projected outward.

because you are hanging with the wrong people

As long as you don't use steroids, you really shouldn't worry about getting too muscular. You will reach your natural limit long before that.

As others have said, when non-lifters talk of "too much muscle", they are usually referring to Kai Greene and other roid freaks. Look up Connor Murphy, David Laid, Merijn...guys with the kinds of bodies that women consider ideal, even if they don't claim to.

Muscle is useless if you're also fat, if you are decently low body fat, the more muscle the better. Women love veins and being able to see the muscle, even if they talk shit and say they dont.
lifeisweirdasfuck 8y ago
I've noticed that too. How much body fat do you reckon one should have to be at the peak of attractiveness?
Like I'm currently bulking and I'm around 15%bf and muscle definition is fading pretty much.
Exodus230 8y ago
The leaner the better until like sub 8%
Dabunghole 8y ago
You should never go above 15% body fat, you’ll start losing insulin sensitivity. So you should do a mini-cut, or start leaning down for a while.
Peak is 8-10%, veins pop, face recedes in, jaw pops, striations, etc.

Put that physique in a casual setting dressed appropriately and women will still choose this over an average

This is pure junk being parroted by losers, don't listen to it.
