At the title states, I'm in a serious situation and could use some advice. Please and thank you. Mods, if this is not appropriate for asktrp please delete!
My last LTR "ghosted" me after a disagreement. I did some research and have since discovered that she most likely has narcissistic personality disorder. This explains why she "discarded" me and why she likes to play the victim. I won't go into much detail but the narcissistic cycle of abuse was definitely in play during our almost 3 year relationship. After having broke up, she decided to make a false allegation of assault (it was unfounded) and filed a restraining order against me. The judge ruled in her favor (mostly, he saw through some of her lies) and I thought that would be the end of it. However, after seeing what she is capable of in court I'm now extremely paranoid she will not stop until she has destroyed as much of my life as possible. My biggest concern is a false rape allegation. I'd like to hear any advice or thoughts on how I can best protect myself from this possibility. Some background info, I did not save any of our texts discussing sex (stupid I know) but I do use an iPhone so maybe theres a recover option? I don't know that she will actually do it, but after seeing her create a total fabrication in court against me I don't put anything past her. I pray to god I'm just being paranoid.

Look at getting the assault charge and restraining order quashed through appeal. Your lawyer will help with this.
Consider filing harassment charges / restraining order against her as a precaution (get lawyers advice). Best to hit back hard - having a restraining order on her will destroy her credibility for any future accusations.

Get a lawyer.

I have an excellent lawyer. Thank you.

Do you want legal advice from internet strangers or your "excellent lawyer"?
trancedj 8y ago
My lawyer has said theres nothing he can do unless she actually does something first. I'm just trying to be proactive.

I think that’s very good of you. Just make sure you follow the order. Do not answer if she calls. Leave immediately if she enters the same building. Block her wherever you can.
trancedj 8y ago
Absolutely. Thank you.

Ghost entirely, completely, 100%. Block her calls and texts, make a rule in your email program / service to automatically delete all her emails. Never visit any of her social media. You have the stupid restraining order to back that action up.
You've done the research, and you must know the concept of narcissistic supply. Her disorder NEEDS this, but if you don't give her any (because you don't even know she's contacting you), she'll eventually get it somewhere else, from some other poor sap. It won't take long, I bet.

Rather than delete, make a backup of everything. You don't have to read the messages (just have them sent to a folder you never check on your email) but if it goes to court, there's a good chance she would have contradicted herself in her messages.

That my hope; she finds a new supply soon. I know she kept a haram of beta orbiters just for that purpose.
Thanks. All the above will be followed strictly.

Collect all messages you can that would prove otherwise. Start to remember exact situations where you guys had interiors so you can reiterate it properly...also good job having a lawyer but do NOT speak to detectives. Evoke your right to stay silent.

Funny you mention detectives. I know the detective involved in the unfounded assault case. I was considering reaching out to him but I’m not sure what good (if any) could come from it. He gives me the impression that he knows she’s full of shit (she did the same thing to her last boyfriend and he was involved in that case as well).
BackVan 8y ago
The detective is not your friend - he wants you to be found guilty as that is how he gets paid.
If you suspect the det has information he is deliberately witholding then speak to your lawyer. Depending on laws, the police could be legally bound to reveal any information they have that might benefit you.

Thanks man. I appreciate the insight.

I assume he does but make sure your lawyer knows that

Thank you.

No good can come of it. Never talk to the police, they are not on your side.
trancedj 8y ago
Thank you. I decided not to reach out to him. It just didn’t feel right.

There's nothing you can do until she does something. Unless she has some sort of definite proof you should be okay. You can get ahold of old messages through your cell providers website.
trancedj 8y ago
Thank you man. She’s got nothing but her psychotic mind.

Thank you. I’ll read it now.
