I've finally got round to buying a bunch of books variously recommended by TRP, such as Robert Greene's books, and I wondered if a normal, 'before-bedtime' read through them would be enough to absorb the information effectively, or should I read them more closely, and write down notes?
How have you guys read such books? I'm not used to reading non-fiction outside of study.

Your brain makes/repairs new connections while you sleep. Sleeping right after reading enhances recall and retention of information. Before bedtime (or naptime) is a great time to read.

I've downloaded the audio-books and just listen to them in situations, where other people listen to music. They are narrated by a good speaker and I enjoy listening to them.
Also reading non-fictious material can be fun. My habit is to kind of cross-read a chapter, think a little bit about the information and then read it in detail again.
I've always enjoyed educating myself and was sponge for knowledge from the very beginning.

At various times. Usually I download the books and read them on my tablet. Toilet, bedtime, waiting room or watching TV with the wife.
On websites that are TRP related I read at work often on my cell phone. After I get my guys going and I'm not busy I'll open a page and use the Accessibility feature to speak the page. This helps re-read stuff because I normally have to force my way through stuff twice.
