Very enjoyable short story, though terrifying in its realism, of course.

Needs some line editing but not bad. Funny how those generic scenarios are so true to life. The doting husband, the needlessly combative wife, it all fits into a pattern.
Well done.

This one is just too good, man. An 18 years old single malt, As Time Goes By, and the usage of "gallivanting"? Impressive.

Thanks. Those references are from men much older than me. This is a nod to the old men who warned us, and drank with us when we came back in need of a shoulder.

I hear you. My first taste of Macallan (not the 18 years, though) was thanks to a professor of a study group of which I was part. As Time Goes By, as referenced in your scripts, is intimately linked to Casablanca, an amazing movie about a guy who realises the woman he loves is fickle and dispatches her with some other dude. There are many other things to be said but, all in all, let's learn from others' mistakes to avoid making them ourselves.

The first time I watched Casablanca was about 7 years ago (Post divorce).
I cried my fucking Eyes out. I have so much in common with Rick it is nuts. Of course I am not nearly as cool as Bogart, and I don't own a nightclub. But a lot of the rest of it resonated deeply with me. To this day it is my top 3 favorite movies.
My neighbor, who happens to be a Judge, bought me a bottle of Macallan for the holidays. And that stuff was amazing. I am now a fan
Have a great weekend.

Casablanca is a must watch. There's always something to be learnt from it. Also, single malts are something else.
And a great weekend for you too.

Long read pretty poignant though and not only hits the nail on the head but drives it home for the lads figuring this stuff out.

Fantastic. Didn't realise people still wrote like this anymore.

Ha! I guess I do.

Btw, if you don't mind, I noticed a typo here:
" It was not FOR nothing, but to Lisa that was all irrelevant. To
herehear there was this secret list of things in her head that she expected of him, and he did NOT do."DeeplyDisturbed1 2y ago
Thanks for catching that. My texting skills are on the decline - more typos than ever recently. I guess its hitting my typing too!

So far, my grandparent are the only couples I’ve ever known to never divorce
Mom cheated on dad and they divorced after nearly 30 years of marriage. I’ve been destroyed by women...twice
Now I have a son, and god as my witness he will know the dangers of marriage and women. This was a good read...I hope to be old wise Dan some day. That will mean that I made it

Ok dude, now you're getting ME all choked up. Smart plan!
And good luck.

Quality story but MAN this guy "doesn't know" how to "use quotation" marks.

Ha! That became a pain in the ass as I went through it a second time. I will go back and fix it - one day.
