One of our biggest sources of suffering in life comes from our expectations. Our own expectations of how much money we should have. How many girls we should be banging. How much free time we should have. Then there is the weight of expectation that society puts on us, that our parents put on us, that our family puts on us, and how we have to live up to all of these.
How do we build up these expectations? Programming. From the day we are born we start getting fed. Religious ideas, social ideas. Ideas about Identity. Ideas that eventually make us into the men we are today. We get an agenda pushed down our throat from our families, our friends, the media and just about everywhere we look. Especially in our youth, when our slates are blank, we soak up as much as we can from our immediate surroundings. These early years play a big role in molding who we become and what expectations we will have in this world.
After we’ve been fed and fattened up with all these ideas in our mind of who we are and what we should be doing with our lives, we begin to reflect upon our expectations. Are we living up to expectations, our own as well as others. If we expect ourselves to do things we currently aren’t it can be a great source of unhappiness. On the other hand there is the expectations we have of others. Expectations of our friends, our partners, our bosses/employees. Even more so if we expect others to be doing certain things and they aren’t it can be upsetting.
On a macro level for example:
If we expect women to behave a certain way
If we expect Feminists to care about men
Other people to treat us the same way we treat them
And they don’t, it will be a constant source of disappointment. Our expectations of external sources to comply with how we view the world should be will only lead to incessant suffering. The only way to rid ourselves of that suffering is to understand it. To understand why woman behave the way they do, why Feminism exists and is the way it is, why other people treat us the way they do. It is only once we understand why things work the way they do that we can manipulate them to work for us. You may want to eat a great meal, but first you have to learn how to cook.
This is where programming comes in, we’ve been programmed to think things work one way, when in reality they work a completely different way. Programmed to think that if you give woman all your love, she’ll give it back in return. Programmed to think women are oppressed and you should actively be trying to fight for their rights. Programmed to think that life is fair and your efforts will be equally rewarded. Programmed to believe there is a floating man in the sky who is looking out for your best interests at all times. The list goes on and on, but by the time we hit adulthood very little of our thought processing is our own original ideas, most is simply a regurgitation of other peoples ideas. Ideas with some or another agenda attatched to it.
Most of the time we are programmed to believe comfortable, fluffy thoughts because they make us feel good when we think about them. They avoid us having to face the harsh realities of the world, because if we face the harsh realities of the world we would be forced to accept that for the majority of our lives we’ve been wrong. We’ve been bullshitting ourselves and the majority of our actions have taken place off bullshit principles. And by accepting we are wrong means we would have to change the way we operate. And changing a lifetime of programming takes effort, and most people aren’t willing to put in that effort so they would rather stick to those comfortable, fluffy thoughts, even though they are the source of their suffering. The gap between how we think the world operates and how it actually operates is the source of our suffering.
The only other option of course is to take the path of understanding. With so many ideas and agendas out there one has an abundance of information to weed through to get to truth. Most of us have a built in sensor for complete bullshit. But the finer details come from theory learning, converted into practical learning and then a conclusion based on evidence. So when one stumbles onto the bible, or a Jordan Peterson book or even TRP, what they are looking at is simply theory. Nothing more. Only once tested in practice do these theories hold merit. Only once the results mirror the theory can we claim to have an understanding, and even then we have to be open to the possibility that this truth could be overthrown by new evidence. It is only after this process that we can see things as they are.
This is we need to be wary when we’re told to fight for women's rights, or spread the word of Jesus. Be wary when we’re told that men need to fight back and get Traditional roles restored. Be wary when we’re told that the Left is freedom and the right is prejudice. Beware of being told American values are great, and Russian values are evil. The Left, the right, Feminism, Alt right etc, these are just ideas, spawned from the minds of other people, who are now telling you that this is the best way forward for you. Be wary of what role you as a pawn play in pushing these other people’s ideas forward. Figure out for yourself what is right and where you stand, you don’t always need to fit into an American Right Wing Capitalist Mens rights Box. Take the theory, Put it into Practice and distil the bullshit from the relevant and make up your own mind, this is understanding. Otherwise you are simply allowing external forces to continue to program your thinking.
Bare in mind, you can only view the world through your current programming, if you were raised in a Christian household and then at 18 someone slaps you with the notion that there isn’t a god, at first this will sound ludicrous. It takes time to internalize change and undo lifelong programming. We have to be aware that this is the case if we are to further our understanding. This is why older generations speak about how great their time was, with great music and traditional marriages and that the younger generations are in decay. They are simply programmed to hold onto their generations ideals and reject the new ideas for reasons discussed earlier. A man who is best at getting it to work for him is not debating if the old system is better or the new system is better, he has simply understood/accepted that the system is the way it is and navigates it as best he can.
It is this position of understanding that holds power, and reduces suffering. Because if you understand how things work then you can’t be disappointed when results are as expected. It is only when you see how things truly are and not how you expect them to be that you can truly be free. Every concept on here is based on this philosophy.
Game is simply understanding how woman work, and using these tools to yield the best results for you.
Frame is simply understanding how things work and then not being phased when they work exactly as they are expected.
You’re only told to lift because the nature of men and woman instinctively respect a thick muscled gorilla.
Hypergamy is simply an observation of the female nature, if you understand this it cannot hurt you.
When your expectations are in line with how the world actually works and not how you want it to work will you be free of suffering. You will simply be contempt. Sure you might still feel the burn when your woman cheats on you, or when you don’t get a pay raise because you’re a lazy slob, but you will understand it. You will understand the world is not how it was, or not how you want it or even how it should be, it simply is how it is.

This is a philosophy of learning how to respond on the inside to everything in your awareness. If you do it right, you can be involved with everything, but you are free within and never get sucked into one particular expected outcome. For this however, you must be inclusive of everything that happens to you, but there is a distance between the world and the one who experiences the world.
There is another old word for this, it's called karma yoga.

Alright bro we get it, you hate God , holy shit man ... didn't need an entire nihilist lamentation of the objective pointlessness of our collect lives to tell us that. Ask yourself if this world view of nihilistic nothingness is your own or whether it's actually the product of the "programming" you condemn.
Life has meaning and you're here for a reason. Embracing that is the true red pill. Best of luck your journey, but this post is simply a projection of your own confusion and anguish in regards to why you are even alive
BurnoutRS 5y ago
We're alive during this incredible instance in time when, for the first time ever, the whole world has been united as one through the internet. The means of control and true oppression dissolve through information and education. People nowadahs can educate themselves beyond the capacity of even the greatest scholars and monks and that shit in the past where they had huge monastic libraries.
Wherever there exists more than one person, there is a hierarchy. Life is an infinite and unending series of hierarchies. Power exists everywhere. The television has power to keep people seated and pacified for hours a day, during those hours a person is more suscept to behaviours like binge eating, snack companies sponsor television networks and in turn can run their ads so you buy their snacks to eat while you watch tv. Power exists within you to resist the temptation.
Whats interesting is that for the first time this conversation can be had on a global level. Its become possible for us to collectively analyze societies the world over. Its become possible for us to discuss, without censorship or the limitations of having to relegate such conversations to private arenas, the goings on of the higher ups.
The west will fall as all societies have. Something newer and greater may take its place. Something worse may take its place. You can have a hand in that if youre so inclined. You can go grab the five hottest girls you know and head to the mountains to breed a harem and live in crazy polygamous "sin" while the rest of the world sorts out the rubble of western civilization.
I dont know what kind of society I want to emerge from the ashes of the west. Its important to note that in these times when we are safest, we are freer to contemplate the nature of existance. In the times ahead, we may have to devote more time to defending that existance, preserving it.
Ultimately I believe man should be educated to the fullest extent and given every freedom without penalty that does not directly impinge on the freedoms of another man. So long as you understand fully enough the consequences of any intended course of action that you feel comfortable taking part in that action. Tell people the truth about what it means to be a human, a man, a woman. Teach people what drugs are, what sex is, money, politics. Introduce these concepts and allow people to pursue them.
All the best systems in life seem to mirror evolution. Provide for the opportunity for people to succeed and make something out of this life. Those who are smart will recognize the opportunities and go on to make something of themselves. Of those, we can hope a good many will be cognizant of the system and continue to make opportunities for those below them. TRP is one of these filtration mechanisms. if you are here trying to digest this information youre actively trying to move up the ladder, gain power, ascend the hierarchy. If we build a society, ideally it will do just this. Reward those who are competent and punish those who are incompetent. Make it so there isnt any excuse for it. Barring retardation

This post hit the spot for me.
I have been dealing with my fat alcoholic diabetic sister who always finds a way to push my buttons. It especially bothers me that the more I help my mom the more I get called a republican racist.
Why am I upset? My family has called me racist since 1982 when I said I liked Ronald Ragan. They always accept my help with a mumbled thank you, and then ask why I dont want to help the poor and "what about those who are not as lucky as you". This is who they are, moochers who bite the hand that feeds them. I have zero expectation that they will change, by I always want them to notice that I am helping, wrong. I will continue helping my mom who is 87 but my sister can help herself next time her life blows up. #walkaway.
MrMelbourne 5y ago
Whenever you notice someone trying to push your buttons, one of the best counter-strategies is; Agree and Amplify.
Accusation: "You're a racist!" Answer: "I can't be a racist, I dislike everybody equally, including my own but the reasons may vary".

Buddhists believe that we suffer because of our attachments. There's no better way to get attached and hand over control of your happiness than to fall into oneitis. Pursuing multiple women helps you become more outcome independent. You have to flush the Disney notion of "the one" from your head. Doesn't exist, but there's people that are suitable more than others. Studying stoicism and meditation has helped also.
sezamus 5y ago
The reality is just broken. When you are young, you are being told, that a man and woman should meet each other, get married and be happy ever after. Like this is some universal recipe to be happy. Then you find TRP, see how it works for real and it brings a conclusion, that god never created us to be a happy couple until death sets us apart. This leads to another conclusion - love is a myth. Love is fake. It is just a shot of oxytocine -nothing more, nothing less. "Happiness" is just a dopamine shot. It will never settle.
In summary We are being brought to a world, that does not give a fuck about our spirituality and good intentions. The world does not care about your "happiness". Your end goal is to make babies, so they can make babies, who will make babies and so on and so on until everything dies and nothing will happen.
Live your life, enjoy it as much as you can and die. Nothing else matters.
EDIT: I will stick also to my philosophical point of view that love, good and evil, etc. are only abstracts created in a human mind. They do not exist per se.
SexdictatorLucifer 5y ago
Fuckin A man haha, this type of laying it out in such a blunt and depressive way is good, and usually gives me a chuckle. It's good to robotic sometimes, cold and calculated. I know you probably know this, but it's important we let ourselves immerse in our humanness at the same time. True, everything is a creation of the human mind, but that doesnt necessarily make things less real, or "non-existent." Since we are imprisoned to the human mind, it IS reality. There is no objective perspective, therefore subjective reality IS the only reality. The cool thing is, since it's subjective by definition, it can be shaped by those willing to enforce their own version. It's all make believe, so put on your fuckin costume and change it whenever you want
KeffirLime 5y ago
Yeah, as human beings we seem to understand things better when we put things in neat little boxes. But in reality concepts like love and happiness are incredibly complex and difficult to define.
Is happiness walking around all day with a smile on your face, is it not wanting to kill yourself, is it having 5 hours of free time a day?
Same can be said for Love, is it wanting to stick your dick in something, is it feeling all warm and fuzzy all day, does it feel one way for me and a different way for you?
So to pursue these concepts like love and happiness will inevitably lead to some form of disappointment. Because the reality is it doesn't fall into a neat little box. It's complex and the English language can only do so much to express it.
SkorchZang 5y ago
What if, due to the inherent mathematical structure of the world itself, there was an out. A built-in exit pathway leading out of the matrix, a way to never die? The body withers and is consumed by maggots, but through a special type of awareness, you never die with it. You choose to remember yourself across lives and pick new bodies for yourself deliberately. Expanding holographically toward a certain goal that is completely incomprehensible to an individual human mind, because time is irrelevant and cyclically self-referential for the immortal crux, who is growing the crystalline structure of past and future with an eye toward forming the desired whole. Without bothering too much about the pleasant or unpleasant fate of some individual pixel or movie frame that now comprises the much, much larger "you"?
Would you not be the first to cut off the anchor of intoxication and earthbound pleasure, and indeed every other goal on earth, to dare schizophrenia's kisses and try and accomplish your own "escape" along these lines, in this lifetime?

What are you? What is it that animates you? How did you begin? What is different about you moments after you take your last breath?
pssst, Your DNA, its alive. YOU, you are already dead.
Your current DNA, has been alive since the dawn of creation. So has mine. It knows everything that could possibly be known. It is the one that answers, when you pray to god or asks the "universe" for some guidance.
You are correct, Your body will wither and be consumed by maggots, and somehow, if you where a succesful lump of meat, that little thing that animates you, will live on, It will remember itself accross lives and pick new bodies (hopefuly succesful ones).

I have also previously thought along these lines. There might be some way to escape this simulated reality we live in. There might be much more to existence than we currently "know".

There might be or there might not be. We are too stupid to predict "what next?". This is why I recommend to enjoy life - breathe the highlands air, swim in the crystal sea and have sex with lovely women. Just forget about other pepole ideas and visions.

Nothing in life, except for objectively negativ things like losing an arm, becoming homeless etc. is purely black. The one idiom every man ought to tattoo it onto his imaginary forehead is: winners see options, losers see failure. Outcome independence is not necessarily only true to that point of not caring, it extends to the point of being happy when a something unintended occurs. A failed approach is a feedback for your game and a chance to become more resilient. Even a broken marriage is the first step for a self-reliant future
East_River_Guide 5y ago
Even this can get distorted. Ever seen a 3 legged dog? They can be just as happy as other dogs because they don't sit around comparing their 3 legs to the expectation of 4 legs. If everyone was born with one arm everyone wouldn't be miserable because they didn't have 2, their one arm would have met expectations and they could be happy with that.

Great insight into how most people are not actually their own individual, but just a collection of opinions ingrained into them by the society they exist within. When you truly step back and examine the world, it's a mind fuck. Everything presented to you is pushing the ideal for who you're supposed to be as a person and the lifestyle you're supposed to be living. Hell, my own blog does that since I identify myself as a leader of men. But there's no way around this programming. Sure, we can live life on our own terms and think on a critical level, but in the end, that mindset is inspired by another individual we admire because of the perceived freedom that they enjoy. I would say as a man, aspire to become the best version of yourself. This provides you with a purpose that makes you hungry for life everyday. When you have a purpose, you don't really get hung up on the bullshit surrounding you. This is because you're focused on your personal growth, instead of the idiocy around you. You know how to navigate successfully in the world because you possess the ability to separate their fiction from your reality. Play them like the game they are when forced to be in their presence and profit from it. Most men fail in life because they refuse to grow a pair of balls in order to buck the bullshit they know they're being fed. Don't be that man -- you'll regret it until the day you die.
KeffirLime 5y ago
Most people are surprised when you point out that their beliefs are simply a product of their surroundings. (i.e Muslim man in Saudi Arabi). These ideas become so ingrained in their identity, that to let go of them would result in the break down in who they are.
There's a cosmic level of bullshit underpinning most of our beliefs. It's just a collective belief in this bullshit that gives it meaning. Money is smply ink on paper(basically ink on piece of tree) but our collective belief in it gives it meaning.
When you're aware of this underlying level of bullshit you don't become so attached to these things. And when you're not attached to them you can manoeuvre between them effectively. Thats when you can decided a purpose for yourself.

Reminds me of a great quote from the mediocre film After Earth;
"The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near insanity. Do not misunderstand me danger is very real but fear is a choice.”
All these quotes, theories, and philosophies really just reinforce that the key lies within our minds of how we manage our interpretations and expectations of given situations and realities.

Great post. You did a better job than I could have to highlight my blindspots over trial and error as a man in his 30's. The goal being to always or progressively uncover 'more and more' of them, so long as they exist (it's like bladerunner though, ENHANCE...) there's always more.
Life kind of beats the philosophy you're speaking of: open your eyes, accept reality, deal in now, and what I've now come to find out is basically 'stoicism' in certain circumstances they either naturally learn some of that or they break.
Some people never push themselves, likewise some are just wise enough to not make the mistakes that I did in their choices... One of the biggest 'points' of fatherhood to me so far- and something I appreciate about the 'manosphere' in general- the hope that others don't need to get beat in the head until they understood basic truths we learn from our mistakes.

kaane 5y ago
Great post. This should be labeled as tRP 2.0
It takes years of practice and experience to come to this point. This realization usually comes from some kind of meditation, be it a traditional sitting practice, or focusing on something and being persistent with it.
Entitlement is the expression of this feeling that you are describing. People think that they are worthy of something, but in reality the world owes nothing to you. The system is set up in a way that it keeps on running. An individual is nothing more than a grain of sand in the desert.
Trying to understand the world for what it is is a good exercise, but in the end we should deliver what we are supposed to do. First make sure that you stay alive. Than eat meat, fuck and sleep.
That's all there is to it. Nothing more, nothing less
NormalAndy 5y ago
I think the undertone of the red pill has always been to see the world for what it is rather than as how you are being told. Meditation is THE tool for this without a doubt.
The issue with 2.0, living as an individual, becomes realising that all of our worlds' are ultimately different and then accepting that we must find many of our rules from within ourselves rather than using trp as a replacement for the Bible and leaving it at that.
It never ends but it sure keeps life interesting!
KeffirLime 5y ago
Exactly we're just cells that arrange in a way that makes us conscious for a certain period of time passing through to become other cells. We are a tiny portion of a much bigger arrangement of cells.
On a biological scale of passing on these "conscious cells" we've created the most complex system imaginable. Road networks, fields of accounting, aviation, data capturing all to get back to our biological need to eat, sleep and fuck.

I agree with you on this one. People are not stupid. But most of the times they choose to ignore what's out there, because believing a make shift lie feels good in the short run. Who cares about the long term goals...
GodOfDinosaurs 5y ago
This is fine until the last sentence. How can you be sure you're seeing things as they really are? How do you know you've finally reached "reality" after having overthrown previous truths so many times? The point is this process is endless; there is no stopping point.
dulkemaru51 5y ago
Because for all intents and purposes, when your model of reality has predictive capabilities of your perceived reality, it is "reality". That is the best you can ever do. It being just an illusion, virtual or a dream is not falsifiable. What if Neo's unplugging led him to another Matrix?
The rules of your perceived reality describes your entire experience. You know what eating, sleeping, breathing and sex entail for your experience, what letting a glass drop to the floor results in, what stabbing yourself in the heart will do to you. You can explain your ponder about this issue as neurons firing in your brain. Ergo, it is real (empirically), because, again, it works. You cannot "know" anything else. You cannot know anything at all fundamentally.
Whatever might be really real, this is always definitely "real".
randomTATRP 5y ago
Why not? Imagine you're Fourier. You've invented a way to represent any signal with cosines and sines. If he didn't know his theory fundamentally, noone did. After some time, people started to apply it to various stuff.
The point is, if you come up with something and think about it thoroughly, why wouldn't you be able to know it fundamentally.
Some things just are the way they are. Example, 2+2 is 4, no matter how much you wanted it to be 3, 316 or 991839. Atleast in the decimal system...
dulkemaru51 5y ago
XX + XX = XXXX. Now ignore the "+", because it is abstract. It is true that a tree is a tree, not a lamp, a bottle or a cloud. That wasn't what I was talking about. I was talking about the metaphysical impossibility of ever being able to assert the nature of noumena.
I mean, if you want to go there, 2 + 2 = 4 is a consistent observation that produces a certain feeling in the body - in the consciousness of an individual. Descartes' Evil Demon...
KeffirLime 5y ago
For simplicity sake I say as they are, but I mean it in the sense of Observed truth.
Only religion claims to operate in the realm of absolute truth. Everything else, even science, claims to have observed truth, backed by research and studies. We base alot of our truths on this, in conjunction with testing things out for ourselves.
It's not that you take everything you see as a new truth. It's a process whereby you get presented with something that seems plausible and has extensive evidence to back it up, and is confirmed by multiple sources and you try it for yourself that your truth changes. You get to a point where you exposed yourself to a lot of observed truth, and you can distill BS from plausible options quite effectively, so in reality you're not actually overthrowing truths all the time.
reddit_veteran1 5y ago
"This is why older generations... Reject the new ideals for reasons discussed earlier."
What you are insinuating with this quote and throughout your post is that norms and values are arbitrary. That they are subjective. That there is no clear good or clear evil and everybody is free to define for themselves what they consider good or evil. That the newer generation take on premarital sex is just as valid as the older generation. This take on what norms and values are can create terrible outcomes. Because it would mean that Hitler wasn't wrong for thinking the jews are an evil that should be exterminated. And as anybody with a brain knows, that is not a moral stance to take.
KeffirLime 5y ago
Yes and no. You are free to decide for yourself what is right and wrong and what ideas you choose to adopt, however not all ideas are equal.
You have to co exist(and biologically desire to mate with) with the rest of your species. And if you think an idea is great but the rest of your species think it’s terrible it’s not best for your survival or odds of gaining a quality mate to pass on your genetic material.
E.g if you adopt hitlers ideals, you’ll probably be shunned from society and drastically diminish your possible mate pool. So it’s objectively a pretty shit idea.

Awesome stuff.
At the height of my game, I was heavily focused on this concept.
Countless philosophers have noted that man is disturbed not by what happens to him, but by his perception of what happens to him.
Through meditation, you can learn to control your perception. Do that, and your frame is invincible.
KeffirLime 5y ago
Absolutely. We train our minds to constantly seek happiness/validation from external sources.
I'm bored, let me go watch TV. I'll be happy when I have a girlfriend/house/car. This only teaches your mind to seek. Once you get what you seek your training will simply kick in and you will find something else to seek.
Meditation teaches you to be present, and simply focus on what is. Here and now, and find peace with it.
caunteris2 5y ago
not only meditation, you just need to brainwash yourself. fake it till you make it
kiwifx 5y ago
In starting to read about stoicism, I think I've naturally picked up something like this. 'A Guide To The Good Life' talks about things you can control, things you can partially control, and things you can't control - and obviously putting the right amount of thought into each of those things. If you're doing that at a base level, if it's second nature to you as it's starting to feel to me nowadays (compared to 6 months ago), very little phases you.
KeffirLime 5y ago
Most people let their minds run wild. Expending mental energy on things that we simply have no control over. This is time and energy wasted.
One is able to train their mind over a long period of time to choose their thoughts and not simply follow each thought that arises in their mind.

More practically, I used to ruminate about all the shit I hated at work, and I hated my job for it. Once I assessed what I had total, partial, and no control of, I turned that around.
I love my job now, first time I've had a position I really miss if I'm away from it for a few days. All because of an honest assessment of what is and is not in my control.

Thats it. Thats how you do it. Accept the things you cannot change. Adjust your outlook accordingly.
Dan Millman said it best: When you ars ooushed, pull. When youre pulled, push. Go with the flow, instead of railing against it.

I'd also like to add that psychedelics help with shaking up your perceived notions about how the world works and how you see yourself. There are moments in the trip where everything is put right in front of you and you have to make a conscious decision to accept what has happened and to just let go. If you try to fight these uncomfortable thoughts, you're gonna have a bad time. It honestly helped me get over my oneitis and show me areas where I could use improvement. Not just with women but also in being the best version of yourself you can be.

Would recommend psychedelic truffles over LSD, mushrooms are good too but dosage can be problematic. Truffles can be ordered by post (Europe anyway) with instructions and are more controlled. Even with very small doses that just feels like you had half a bottle of wine there are observable beneficial effects on the brain that last about 6 months.

Thanks for the suggestion, might look into it. Yeah dude mushroom potency can vary wildly. Once I ate 2g's (average dose) and after 2 hours nothing happened. I decided to eat 2 more grams and that fucking floored me. I closed my eyes and it was like I was in an Alex Grey painting

26 assholes upvote a jackass telling people that using psychelelics is a good thing. WTF

Google it, maybe you've been programmed. Lift the curtain.

it could indeed be a good thing.

Psychs have their uses. They certainly aren't neccessary to get that "eureka" moment, but altered states through the use of psychadelics can make you realize a lot of stuff about yourself

Clutter in your physical space means clutter in your mind

Sounds like a great trip. I know what you mean too with wanting to be healthy from LSD. Never looked at the smoking the same way since.

I'm glad you had a great experience dude. Psychs can be very fun and eye opening. Plus music is extremely euphoric while tripping! There's nothing wrong with tripping every couple weeks, you should just give yourself time to integrate what you've learned.

On average it's about once a month between school and work. It has taught me to seize opportunity since I know well the pain of hesitation. Whether it was escalating or even sports, you have to grab life by the balls and just run with it. Also I've stopped watching TV all together. The ads are despicable, robbing your time and attention to buy things you don't need. Less time on the couch can be used for spending time with family which I believe is fundamental to a happy life.

This post has a lot of Buddhist mindsets and I think it is great way to approach life that way
Cantloginhere 5y ago
I can never find it but one similar Buddhist quote I read once was along the lines that enlightenment is the acceptance of others / the world without feeling the need to change them / it.
swiftfooth 5y ago
"The gap between how we think the world operates and how it actually operates is the source of our suffering"
Indeed, that's very similar to the core tenet of Theravada Buddhism: ignorance (for example, of how all things, including body, mind and consciousness, are: impermanent, unsatisfactory and not-self) is the root of all suffering.

You don't get laid, therefore you shouldn't get laid. this is badphilosophy material.
NormalAndy 5y ago
The irony is that most people come here because they want help getting laid yet the message is that getting laid is just a marker of a life well lived.
People want to get laid so they can tell their friends how great they are. I just want to be great. If I get laid on the way then fantastic but I really don't give a fuck about it anymore.
thepanda37 5y ago
Ummm are you a girl?
Also nah. Greatness is always up to interpretation, and power=responsibility, but getting laid is getting laid.
