Pros:
Been lifting for 5 months overall, but last week I lifted like a motherfucker. I can feel the muscle soreness and growth and it's a beautiful feeling.
Managed to NoFap for 9 days. Broke the cycle a couple of days ago. This time I'm aiming for 25 days, until the end of November.
Cons:
NeverForgetEver 6y ago
Well can't really say much yet since I've only just (as in yeaterday) decided to actually start listening to TRP and trying to incorporate it into my daily life, despite lurking on here for a few months. I'm hoping good things will come of this. I sure as fuck could use it.
However I feel like adding that (and bear with me that this is a massively minor deal to basically everyone else on here, but it felt pretty cool to me) I did a tiny little experiment with a friend using a few pieces of advice taken from TRP, and it worked like a charm, but it was only over snap with a friend who is hundreds of miles away so nothing if consequence to anyone but myself.
Anyways this post is already pretty long for "not much to say yet" but this transformation is going to be slow af, I honestly don't expect this to take less than a year. But I guess we'll see.
kellhusian 6y ago
Over the last two months :
Thanks, TRP.
Cos_7_ate_9 6y ago
I've been dressing better and I found a great barber. I'm getting a lot more looks from girls now although I will have to work on capitalising on that. Approach and social anxiety have gone out the window; I'm approaching arrogance honestly which is fine but not when I'm drunk. When I think about it I first started drinking as a teen for confidence with girls, this place has solved that so I need to break the habit.
It's minor but my Tinder game has gotten a lot better. "Pizza, Bowling, Rock climbing, cocktails pick one" is my go to now because they're all close to my place and psychologically I think it's better than "come for a drink" because rather than them being the bringer of value, which they have already, the activity is offering the value for both of us.
Carson1099 6y ago
Quit smoking weed, I felt so much better... clear head and improved cognition!
I added multi vitamins, fish oilds, and other vitamins to improve health and cognition!
Over the last month TRP changed the way I think and pretty much diminished my social anxiety. I am actually able to intitate and hold a conversation with ladies and even helped my socialization with dudes.
2 weeks ago I banged a girl from a Halloween party I went to.
Bought a new wardrobe and a watch.
My strength and size gains have through to roof and has contributed to my confidence.
Im confident to say Im the one who changed my life, but I will be forever grateful and dedicated to this subreddit. Thank you all.

Late but just starting. I've just started last week picking up most of the main recommended books on the sub and started reading the rational male. Getting a gym membership today since it's my only day off during office hours. I figure I can work out before work 6 days a week and then use Sundays later on as my rest day.
Any recommendations on cook books you use to complement your workouts? I don't think hamburger helper, TV dinners, and takeout is going to cut it lmfao
[deleted] 6y ago
Went to see a football game with some friends, and talked to a lot of people that my friends knew there. I got around eight or nine of the friends' contact info, and a girl started flirting with me, and reciprocated back. She got my Snapchat, but we are in the shit testing stage rn.
XG_anon 6y ago
Accomplished:
-Workout volume is through the roof and squatting 2 plates for a 10x10 following 3-4 second negative tempo is absolutely murdering my lower body -Been 2 weeks without caffeine, never thought I would quit but it costs too much money to drink energy drinks and I don’t like coffee -Cut all of my expenses and finally having money leftover -Fixing relationship with my wife
Goals:
-Clean up my diet -Hit 200lbs no sooner than Dec 1st and then cut 20lbs in 6 weeks (mostly bloat) -Apply for schooling and loans for next year -Keep having fun with the Mrs.
BurnoutRS 6y ago
It's been nearly a year and a half since the accident and Im finally able to do about 1/3 of the volume of lifting that I was doing prior. Not letting the brain/spinal cord injury shit hold me back. I'm so close to being completely pornfree. Shit fucks with my motivation so thats cut. I havent eaten any processed foods or foods with added sugars in almost 6 months. My relationship with cannabis is fucking spectacular. No more hitting the bong from the time I wake up until I go to sleep. No more spending all my time baked and vegging out.
I've got nearly 6 complete songs put together and enough rough material for a few albums. Getting closer and closer to that main goal of having a finished album. My mindset is incredible. I have this fire now. I've been on this journey of self improvement for years but it feels like its spiralling exponentially now.
Im making approaches only when the opportunity arises instead of actively seeking the opportunity. Recovery is my number one goal but this little voice is saying that im using that as an excuse to not have to deal with approach anxiety. Im gonna listen to that voice because experience had taught me those little gut feelings are usually right.
My overall attitude? Love the brain injury, constant migraines, noise and light sensitivity, cognitive impairments. It's all just more incentive to stay on top of my shit. I gotta work extra hard just to live a normal life now so I dont have any room left for little bitch excuses

Not one quiz below 8/10 Excellent grades, doing well in midterm season so far though one quiz in was very bad, was a learning experience and won't be repeated. Biceps grew by 2 centimeters, current lifting maxes are adequate at 110 KG dead-lift, 65 Bench, 80 Squat, lagging at over head press, probably can't do more than 30 kg, but my shoulder and traps look more than adequate and I have plenty of time to get stronger, new shoes that I've learned how to take care of, dad's old crappy but functional sunglasses, got complemented on my outfit yesterday, also new pants, sweater, a couple of shirts and hopefully will get a new jacket or two and another pair of shoes that isn't "sport". Girls treat me better than they treat the rest of my classmates, who also surprisingly respect me. I almost feel popular, finally feel like I'm worth something and part of the group, still plagued by oneitis, only person that makes me feel this needy, if anyone wants to give me some advice about her go ahead. Good reputation, other people on campus keep thinking I'm older than I am, and surprised when I'm in not in business or mass-communication, but in the more nerdy unpopular dentistry.
Good grades, good body, good fashion, and I still can't believe this, a good reputation as something other than the weird undesirable.
Wish me luck, we're all gonna make it.
A heartfelt Thank You to all the moderators and contributors, especially u/redpillschool and u/MrSimple333

goldenhourlivin 6y ago
Finished reading The Misandry Bubble linked in the side bar.
2-3 weeks ago I finally committed to reading some of the posts I see here on trp and decided I need to start with the side bar. I didn't understand how the guys here could make posts so intricate about the mechanisms of sexual strategy and ordinary daily events, but after reading the misandry bubble it feels like I've been given glasses after 23 years of being legally blind.
Other than that:
Got my beard shaped up real nice, didn't let the additional female attention make me feel good
Slayed an exam
Decided to learn how to change my cars oil
Stopped watching porn (I've significantly reduced from 2+ times a day over the past month or two, but now I plan on dropping it for good)
[deleted] 6y ago
What gun were you thinking of? I'm pretty well trained in firearms if you are looking for advice.
goldenhourlivin 6y ago
Some type of hand gun. Powerful, somewhat beginner friendly without sacrificing utility, possibly small enough to conceal if I end up getting a license. I don't know much about guns so I'm planning on reading up on what I should be looking for. Any suggestions are welcome, especially for where I might find a good starting point.

The Good: Took a contract job far from my hometown and am in a new geographical location 500 miles away. It’s causing me to have to build new networks, find new plates, and build a new social life.
Hung out with a really hot girl. She was shocked that I actively didn’t hit on her to the point that she said I was the first guy that didn’t hit on her. She told me she wants me to want her, red flag I know, but I will end up tapping that ass.
The Bad: I’m feeling strangely lonely. And since I’m in a new area and couldn’t pull one of my faithful plates I resorted back to porn.
Spent far more money in my relocation then I expected. My financial planning had sever assumptions that I should have detected.
[deleted] 6y ago
Threw a guy 50 pounds heavier and skilled in judo. True, it was "only" a foot sweep, but it was well timed and he hit the mat.
Made all my work outs this week. Still trying to crack the 9 min/mi mark on my 2.5 mile run. 23 minutes yesterday....so close.
Added movement to morning routine. Pop some concentrated cold brew in the microwave and get out on the deck for jumprope while the coffee heats. Then some bodyline drills (planks including side and reverse, hollow hold, arch hold) and uchi-komis with bands (basically, judo shadow boxing).
Started swiping right. Yeah, I know, TRP has a dim view of Tinder, but I'm coming out of a dry spell and I need a spark. FWIW I set my DOB in Facebook as 91 when in reality it's 72.....but I managed to get a pic that rated well on photofeeler, top 20% in attractiveness compared to 30 y/o's (I was top 5% in my age bracket). Fuck it, it's worth a shot, swiping left on the fatties, I'm working way too hard to deal with fatties of any age....and my logistics are solid, nice apartment just south of the city right next to the interstate and light rail.
Weefilly 6y ago
Bang those fatties from tinder to the tune of the light rail whizzing past!
[deleted] 6y ago
LOL I will say the chubby girls who are under 25 or so can still be pretty cute......I'm pretty much a slab of meat these days, which makes for an interesting contrast lol.
The Wall hits them even sooner than the others, to be sure.

I can do that easily. But that 5 minute mark...

Had a body composition test done yesterday. I'm down 58 pounds since my last one three months ago but 6 pounds of that was lean body mass. Time to crank up the exercise intensity.
Wore the suit I bought for college graduation in 1988 to the office. It's been hanging in the back of my closet for years (now it's the only one that fits).

I just make the water cold, and get in. Took me a few days to get used to.
YGDieciseis 6y ago
Lol what's the deal with cold showers?
buddhadarko 6y ago
Lol. Besides the fact that taking a cold shower helps to wake you up more and give you a sense of alertness in the morning, there are some other health benefits. I don't know how many of the benefits have been scientifically proven, but I've seen the same benefits listed multiple times from different sources, so I think there may be a ring of truth to the majority of them.
https://www.menprovement.com/benefits-of-cold-showers/
YGDieciseis 6y ago
Thanks for the info. I find that I sleep better if I take a hot shower before bed so I don't know if I'll end up switching my routine but its good to know.

Did great this whole week. Was able to be disciplined and worked on the things that I needed to do to be successful. Read my fiction book, 2 chapters a day. Took notes while I read the 48 Laws of Power. Practiced drawing. Started coding. Meditating everyday and done a week of NoFap. I feel like I'm doing way to much and I need to cut down on certain things in able to fit time for other things.
Goals for next week:
-Spend no more than $100
-Eat clean and whole foods
-Continue with my self learning
-Continue NoFap streak.
buddhadarko 6y ago
Solid, brother. Keep the momentum going!

Lifting: Bench Press is now 185 in 5 reps (20 lbs to go for 205 lbs), Deadlift is 185 in 4 reps (Passed my Immediate Level of Deadlift), Squat is 255 lbs in 5 reps (10 lbs to go to my 265 lbs of squats), and my Military Press is 135 in 4 reps (20 lbs to go for my 155 lbs in Presses). Now close to 20 lbs of lean muscle, maybe 25. (Went from 133 lbs to 153 lbs now)
No Fap: Going to start in Hard mode (which is No porn, No masturbation and no orgasm) in atleast 2 months. Hard challenge but I will get through, with enough self-discipline.
Money-wise: Going to find another Part-time or a seasonal based on Holiday money, while studying for my Cisco CCNA certification is almost complete. Need to buy some practice labs and kill more distractions in order to complete.
Lifestyle: Learning real well about Minimalism and Stoicism so far. Cutting coupons and deals, lowering my budget more, for Groceries and Haircuts. Also, on weekends, I start on talking to more people, in order to learn about Social Skills and gaining legit friends.
Dating: Not on that field yet, based on getting my logistic priorities together (Getting my own car and place), but I have getting alot of compliments on my looks and body based on my 2 year lifting and grooming so far. Right now, Approaching women is not bad, but I'll learn how to be bold sometimes. So I'll read the Warload post until I learn it real well while reading Mode One book by Alan Rodger Carrie, then I'll apply it. Also, the Sidebar of course.
Other than that, Still learning as a Red Pill student in this University called Life.
theoctosquibble 6y ago
I love to think that I'm red pill, but I'm not. I'm still not in the state of mind that i'd like to be. I still haven't approched that cute co-worker of mine, I'm still not slaying pussy left and right. I'm drunk at the moment, but on the other side of things I haven't wanked in a while and I'm doing constructive shit ltely (like reading mainly). Which is not much but it's a start. A start that lasted a few months.
EDIT: I will continue this fight with my lazy piece of shit of self that is, until I reach what I want. I'm not familiar with the terms on this sub (too many acronyms for my taste) but mainly disciplin and a strong frame of mind.
MentORPHEUS Endorsed Contributor 6y ago
There's a glossary of terms, abbreviations, and acronyms in the sidebar. Read through them and it will help you slide down the learning curve more quickly as you read.

-Started lightly teasing the young, attractive chicks at work. They love it. They can't stop smiling and giggling, and one took the opportunity to do a little playfighting with me. Don't worry, I'm not gonna stick it in any of them, no matter how much they want me to. Their friends, if they'll introduce me to them, however... But anyways, if the nerdy ginger kid can become a hit with the ladies, then most of you can, too.
-Started wearing contacts all the time. Way better than wearing glasses, especially in Australia's weather.
BAD
-Bleached my hair, it looks dreadful. I'm gonna have to wait a week to bleach it a second time. My receding hairline's more visible than ever now. Ginger hair and bleach don't mix.
-Had to start shaving for the first time. AND I'M NEARLY TWENTY-ONE. I can't grow anything more than a wispy little mustache and some smattering of chin hairs. And again, I've never shaved before and I'm in my early twenties. And that's all I can grow. Goodbye dreams of a long, luscious viking beard to cover up part of my pasty freckled face.

I'm running my third Tough Mudder of the year this weekend. 10-12 miles and 20 obstacles.
Next year I'm going for the Holy Grail. This means within the same year running a Tougher Mudder, Toughest Mudder, and World's Toughest Mudder.
The Toughest is an 8 hour overnight endurance race of 5 mile laps, the World's Toughest is a 24-hour affair.
I'd really like to run the World's Toughest next weekend, because it's the last time it will be at Lake Las Vegas, and I really want to tackle The Cliff. Honestly, I am not in good enough shape to make a worthwhile go this year, but I might still attempt it depending on my performance tomorrow.
[deleted] 6y ago
Good luck, and great to see an EC on this thread.
[deleted] 6y ago
Reflection: Last week I was struggling between letting my LTR go, struggling with an insecure side chick that for some fucking reason I like, and struggling with the stress and anxiety of an extensive home remodel and not having a perfectly comfortable place to stay.
Progress: Made the decision to let the LTR go. I stood my ground; I wasn't forceful but I did clearly articulate what I wanted (to be alone) and didn't allow her feelings and emotions to sway me into trying to regain it for a period of time. I believe that was the right move because it will give me a new foundation to build on and be able to present a better version of myself to the world.
I've made some good progress on the house, even in the midst of having to take a huge step back. If I can spend some solid time working on it this afternoon, then the bathrooms should be almost finished after this weekend.
I've been able to commit some decent time at work this week and accomplish a lot. It isn't going as fast as I would like but I am working on some seriously difficult stuff. I've also been spending about an hour a day at work learning Spanish, so that does cut a little into my working time, but if I wasn't doing that then I would just be looking at my computer screen and clicking the mouse button pointlessly.
I also have a date lined up with the previous side girl (we'll call her M). It sounds like something exciting, and she was ecstatic when I asked her to join me as my date. So I've been successful in managing her emotions and steering her in the directions I want her to go. It's still a struggle, but at this point it's one that I'm winning.
The bad: Had to rip out the hallway flooring in the house, so that's going to take some time to replace. I didn't expect having to do that.
Still haven't made time for the gym, but the house is getting close to done and I'll be able to make time then.
shawn1997 6y ago
How to not fap every single fucking day? I am tired of not able to sleep without fapping and have this shitty feeling of not having any control?
chrismuffar 6y ago
Start easy and don't make a lifetime commitment. Go for 90 days, purely as an experiment, and notice any changes. It's a fun, enlightening challenge. See it that way, instead of as a lifetime of abstinence from fapping/porn. Just 90 days. (Hint: I don't think you'll want to go back).
And don't seek out porn or nude content during those 90 days. But don't flinch from arousing content that appears by chance - IRL or on your screen. We're not monks, we can look at a naked woman and go on with our important business without stopping to knock one out.
Download the NF Companion if you haven't already. Tracks your days, unlocks ranks and provides inspiration.
Good luck.
shawn1997 6y ago

chrismuffar 6y ago

Sure, it's an app for Android phones. NF stands for NoFap.

Met all my workout goals. My physique is slowly improving and I've gained over 10 pounds in the last month and a half.
Forced myself to initiate conversation with women (or anyone I thought looked interesting at the time).
Re-enforced TRP ideals by going over some of the sidebar material, once again they line up with my recent experiences.
Worked on Khan Academy for 1 hour a day, preparing for College courses in the spring.
Quit smoking. Still on a couple pieces of nicotine gum but that is dwindling down.
[deleted] 6y ago
Vaping is the only thing that worked for me, smoked a pack a day, or a bit over, for 20 years. Haven't had a cigarette other than the rare one when I'm drinking, in 4 years.
Nothing else worked for me, tried it all. Working on quitting that too, no health reasons, just hate owning shit, and have to have the vape(heavy), coils and juice and such.
I'm studying for college as well, taking my two final classes for my materials chemistry degree in the spring, and these last two are a major bitch, forgot all my calc 2 shit I took years ago.
Hanging out with a friend the next few days, start working out again the monday after that, got out of it for a bit. Been walking and such, though.

I always have my doubts on the Quit Smoking part. Keep us updated about it, and know that you less respect and more skepticism by typing this. Time to stick on the goal and make us proud.

My achievements are as follows
• Almost got into a fight where the other guy was just going bat shit for no reason. Despite him getting in my face instigating me to punch him I didn’t let my emotions get the best of me and walked away. (THIS IS HUGE FOR ME)
• Cut smoking weed by almost half of what I used to
• Got the highest grade in my university math class (even though its precalculus, I’ve never been a math genius)
• Started lifting again despite the almost year old torn rotator cuff (money is tight for surgery and there is no excuses if people without arms can lift)
• Have reached a point in my life where I’m the one denying sex, damn it feels good

Asked a girl I know out she shot me down...I still feel fucking great.
Cos_7_ate_9 6y ago
In my experience the brain does some background tricks to let you think less often about a girl after she rejects you. So now she can stop taking up space in your head, well done.
[deleted] 6y ago
I've noticed that and I've got my eye on a few other girls.

I started squatting again. Have now squatted twice this week.
deltaunit18 6y ago
Found out that what's been destroying my life for years now was brain fog. I can remember having it, or I mean the effects of it, over 5 years ago, it's caused depression, memory loss, trouble focusing, lose of reality, etc. I found TRP about a year ago but whatever I read would be forgotten. Ditto goes for school.
I cut dairy out of my diet two weeks ago and I've felt so much better, also cut lightly smoking weed everyday and videgames. School has been going much better and I finally feel confident and not as jittery as I normally was. But I think I have sleep apnea since I've been waking up with headaches and a dry af mouth everyday, and my gf says she can occasionally hear me stop breathing. Memory is still an issue so I'm seeing a sleep doctor and a psychiatrist for the fog.
Short term goals are to finally get control of my life back, be more active in these weeklys, keep hitting the gym minimum 3 days a week, study hard, and actually fully apply my notes from here.
Long term is to learn a new language, start a in/out finance book, start reading a book a month, and tone TV/videogames to a minimum.

I went from being on just ÂŁ5 per week to almost ÂŁ500 per week. (I'm only 19, so it's not a bad amount of money to have at 19) (ÂŁ1950 in total per month)
went from being broke and stuck in school to getting a full time job and then being hired by a fantastic company who spotted me.
went from being severely underweight at 6'2 to close to 188lbs (working towards 200lbs)
went from having zero experience with girls to having slept with 13 girls (I know this is rookie numbers for this sub)
had never held hands with a girl before I found this sub, when I did find this sub, I had sex just two weeks later.
No longer that weird shy guy, now full of confidence (people mention this a lot and I've actually seen emails that have been sent round from HR at work stating "THROWTOThePolls has improved leaps and bounds over the past year, simply oozes confidence and charisma now"
Appearance and dress sense have improved in ways I couldn't fathom three years ago, again thanks to this sub.
Social life has improved greatly, I often times find myself double booking myself most days and have to cancel on at least one person daily.
A lot of people (both Male and female) come to me for real advice now, not the shitty type of advice everyone and Disney give, one girl who I see very often tells me that I'm "illuminati" because I know shit that sounds so far-fetched but it actually works and is genuine. (I've been able to predict with 100% accuracy, what her crush (aka Chad Thundercock) is doing when it comes to her))

My guess is that by “gym day” he means the days he has reserved for the gym and not every day.
bikermonk 6y ago
Or maybe he takes some days super easy like just a little cardio a few days
TravisScottisLaFlame 6y ago
May I ask what your gym routine is?
[deleted] 6y ago
For sure, few things to note first though...
1) I've only recently come off a drug which fucked me up big time in terms of immune system and strength. (So when I came off the drug, my strength increased very quickly)
2) I'm 19, some people have said that means I can recover quicker etc..
3) it's bulking season bro.
Anyways my schedule is:
Monday - Leg Day Tuesday - Chest and Arms Wednesday - Shoulders and Back Thursday - Leg Day Friday - Chest and Arms Saturday - Shoulders and Back Sunday - Core and full body.

•BF is getting near 10% (11.5) i started crossfit 6-7 weeks back its melting.
•Daily goal of meditation, reading and working out or light activity is met on a regular basis.
•Frame is becoming top notch for the longest. Havent lost control when it comes to women in probably 6 years. (im dead serious - no yelling, no change of heart, no compromising on my values)
•Became a fan of the word pragmatic. I learned this week to question all of my actions. Is it helping me to reach my goals? or is it just a waste of time. Pretty effective, you start realising how much time we are wasting on non sense or watching other peoples goals unfold, while we get overkilled on inspirational and motivational words. (exception is familytime).
• Realised "Friends" are mostly a waste of time when it comes to reaching goals, since I realised a lot (not all) of male friendships are just dumb conversations, beta confirmation, baseball, football or whatever sport dick ridin'. Nowadays I prefer acquaintances over most friends.
•Improved on law nr 4 - Always say less than necessary (48 laws of power). Stopped myself several times when I wanted to waste oxygen unnecessarily. Was one of my problems for a long time and I'm finally able to control it. Only alcohol is my enemy when it comes to law nr 4.
•Quote of the Week "when you give people the possibility to feed you, you also give them with the mechanism to starve you" by some dude who picked it up from some professional boxer.

23 Years old, sorry for my English as I'm not a native speaker. Last week went pretty decent I would say:
Workout and diet - Going just great! It seems reallly easy for me to keep up with my diet and going to the gym, and moreover, I enjoy it very much!! Thats the most positive thing I'll probably write.
No Fap - failed with my goal... Will start again.
Girls - For the first time of my life got a few matches on tinder, talked to some... Realizied how I fucked up with all, lesson learned. I struggle to have much time for going out as I work and study a lot, usually go out from the house at 7:00 and get back at 23:00 (including gum of course), so my time of going out is on weekends. Still struggle with some anxiety to be honest, but I feel like I gain confidence.
Being Social - I had always had a good sence of humor, and I always have comebacks that put me in the lead. I guess it will serve me great in when I'll get involved in the politics. I saw how it helps me bond with people at work, and overall talking to people around me here and there.
And man, never realized how much beard would fit my face, I get compliments all the time, and it makes me look 23 and not 19...

Finally able to lift again after getting surgery. Just got done with my 9th day of consecutive lifting and on the path to gaining the muscle I used to have plus more. I'm 6 foot 2, was 180 last week and now 184. Gonna YOLO bulk to 225 with plans to be 200 by new year, I'd rather be bulky rather than a skinny fuck
Edit: Also call me weird or whatever I don't care, I'm keeping a close eye on how others view me in general as I get more muscular by the week. As I used to lift I'm going to put on muscle pretty fucking quick so it's going to be quite drastic just saying. I find the social aspect of lifting so interesting as your SMV goes up greater than any other hobby would.
[deleted] 6y ago
Nothing wrong with being skinny, as long as you are cut and have good muscle. I'm 5'11, 155, and look pretty good. I don't look too thin. Back when I was working out heavily years ago, I got to 164 and looked absolutely shredded. Then walked 2200 miles across the country and lost 14 lbs.
I was 145 in basic, double rations for 2 months and I gained 7lbs lol.
[deleted] 6y ago
I feel better at higher weight and more filled out, even if it means gaining a bit of body fat (which is hard to notice in a shirt anyway). Been skinny my whole life and don't like the way I've been treated because of it.

1st post in this subreddit, and been changing my habits for two months after graduation from college.
Been getting up more regularly and cooking myself some fried eggs for a healthier breakfast than cereal. Anyone have any suggestions for toppings to throw in, was thinking some onions and green peppers. Taking a cooking class next Monday for some knife techniques, hopefully the price is worth it. Goal for next week in nutrition to cook something besides spaghetti and stir fry chicken, was thinking home made BBQ chicken pizza Saturday. Also stock up on some cocktail staples and learn a few drinks and techniques from the boston guide to bartending.
Also still doing exercise everyday, stopped doing it in the morning to get to work at 9 everyday, and now do it for twice as long in the afternoon. Mostly 20 pound dumb bell and body weight exercises, alternate between core (planks and crunches) -> arms (dumb bell curls) -> and leg (squats and lunges) with a few sets of 20 push ups every evening. Need to take the hyperactive dog out tomorrow and run down to the mailbox 3/4ths a mile down and back the ridiculous private community road, before winter hits and make it miserable. Sitting at 6' 3" and 225 pounds now, 20 pounds lighter than what I was in April before cutting soda, and 10 pounds lighter than when I started working out daily a month ago. Still have some fatty patches and loose skin on the waist / core.
Trying to check out local hang outs in the area now, was a shut in during college to save money and focus on assignment deadlines, and now making enough to justify the $20 splurges more than a few times a week in a Midwest town that doesn't have too much to do for the college scene, only club in 40 mile area is mainly a gay one with straight nights. Went to a local bar on Halloween night afterwork and just played an hour worth of billiards to get used to the place, goal is to go there the same time for a month and chat up with more people, hopefully it is better next week instead of peak trick or treat time this week.
Sucking at online dating like no other, sitting on match, tinder, and coffee meets bagels and avoiding the 40% single moms / divorcees, 20% overweight, and 20% too crazy for me, so stuck atm on the rest that are either getting bombarded or bots (only matches I'm getting on Tinder that I just report when they ask to text on 2nd message). Need to buy a camera and just get some better and more recent photos. Giving up on that for a while until I can get better photos and some nightlife experience. Here's hoping the party my friend is hosting tonight is fun, we hook up as a group weekly for TRPG so this is a good chance to expand close cliche to more people so that I can hang out with others now that the TRPG hit some scheduling problems now that everyone is out of college and in workforce, one guy especially with odd security job shifts clashing my attempts to schedule anything from my 9-5 job and is hesitant to visit moderate expensive restaurants and bars while I avoid fast food and cheap taco bell food that I can't stomach or keep fit with.
Also venturing out to find a good barber in the area, any one know any good styles for a redhead? Only style I've been going with is how short to cut the sides and it's been irregular each time. Installed yelp to read reviews of them in the area, should probably use that more for other places like bars and gyms before I choose a regular.
TL;DR Breaking out of shut in broke college student habits and slowly breaking in daily cooking, exercise habits while I slowly get comfortable and explore local areas and services I avoided previously.
Advice on good body weight exercises, simple meals, or things to look out for choosing a regular hangout bar / gym / barber will be appreciated.
Next week's post will be shorter and just updates if plans follow through and thanks for the awesome reading material, been through most of the sidebar now.

I'm a redhead. Grew my hair out after I got out of the Army, wear it in one long braid down my back. Simple, effective, looks good. Much less maintenance than when I had short hair, I might run water through it once every couple weeks, your scalp and skin are pretty much self cleaning.
laviksa 6y ago
You could try to bake a quiche the evening before, and heat it in the microwave for breakfast.
For example: https://www.yummly.com/recipe/Spinach-quiche-307093?prm-v1
Skip the cream cheese, replace it by a tad more milk and 2 more egg whites.
gELSK 6y ago
// , My father introduced me to his homemade salsa on fried eggs with bacon. I recommend trying it, if you know how to make your own salsa.

photofeeler was an eye opener, but the ego takes a hit lol
[deleted] 6y ago
I don't know about online dating, honestly. I posted some of my 2 year old male modeling photos, with chemist as my job(in college for it). Didn't get many replies, a few hot ones, mostly older fatties. Didn't seem worth it, at least in my area.
[deleted] 6y ago
I've been told over and over that's where the action is around here. Promising results so far. Nothing concrete yet.
[deleted] 6y ago
Been on a few online dates, most of them were absolute psychos.
I probably don't live in a good area for it, smaller town, conservative southern area, but I live right next to my college.
[deleted] 6y ago
Dude, I had my Tinder on in Cheyenne, WY and it was horrifying.
[deleted] 6y ago
Murfreesboro, TN isn't much better. At least you have pretty places to hike up there. There's some nice places here, but not really in walking distance.
[deleted] 6y ago
Dude, I somehow matched with a girl who lives 2 hours east of my city but loves going to raves. I pitched using my place as a base a couple times a month to make it far cheaper and reliable for her.
And I'd get a 22 y/o in my bed a couple times a month....good with me . (your age - her age)/7? Fuck that, 20 < her age < 34.
Also got a cute school teacher excited for drinks Wednesday night. I just don't see how I get these opportunities in meat space.
(Yeah, I don't live in Cheyenne. You need a city of at least a million to make online dating feasible).
[deleted] 6y ago
Yeah, I'm pretty much suspending anything like that while I study now and get ready for my final semester of college in spring, it's going to be brutal.
Nutty_Nutts 6y ago
Looks like a good approach for crowd sourcing and finding actual average impressions. Will be using that to screen new photos so that I actually post them and not have anxiety and wait for another week's worth of exercise.
Thanks for the tip.

Been forever since my last post. So, here's a rundown.
The Good:
Asking women out has gone from feeling like stepping into the lion's den to being a time-saving litmus test.
Got back on using David Allen's GTD system with the OmniFocus app. Got it on OSX and iOS, so I can better maintain it.
Finished a bulk in August. Put on 3kg of muscle and 7kg of fat.
Started a cut in Sep. Dropped 4kg of fat. Strength is still progressing.
This close to a 2-plate squat. Grip strength is improving. Ordered lifting straps. Hopefully my deadlift > squat in a month or so.
Added emphasis for lats, chest, and arms to my routine.
Got Bendy Body and Get Bent 2 weeks ago. Flexibility has noticeably improved in a handful of sessions. 10/10 would recommend.
The Bad:
Relapsed back into porn use. Deleted the porn. Back to going clean.
A couple of work projects have been dead in the water for months. I need to get my head in the game and get those out of the door.
