Here I am, looking at the sidebar of stackoverflow, having a quick glance on the newest blog entries and seeing this title:
"3 Ways You Can Be an Ally to Women in Tech"
https://stackoverflow.blog/2017/10/04/3-ways-can-ally-women-tech/?cb=1
And not only does this title already give away the content of this article, the article already disqualifies itself within the first sentence:
"According to the National Center for Women & Information Technology, only 26% of professional computing roles in the workforce in the US are held by women."
Yes, Mrs. Kristina Lustig ("lustig" is the German word for "funny", by the way, so I guess that name fits her perfectly), and this is totally due to the fact that men working in professional computing roles are all patriarchist that need to be shut down, right? On the other hand, it can't possibly be due to the fact that women barely even consider working in this industry from the very beginning because they simply don't want to, which is why they choose different routes in academia and also in general, can it? Nah, it's the fault of us men, of course.
And you're totally right, just because there are less women working in this industry, we totally need to advantage them even more.
Seriously, what's up with this kind of bullshit? Even stackoverflow starts being political now, give me a break.
wickedtuesday 6y ago
I love how these studies and stats always come from Non-Profits with official sounding names: "National Center for Women & Information Technology".
You are a non-profit who is clearly driven by an agenda. I am not going to buy any stats or studies you push out. 99.9% of the time these feminist non-profits cherry-pick the fuck out of their data.
Anecdote time:
I had quite a few female friends in high-school. Most of them were of the "Ra, Ra. Girl Power, strong independent women" types and kept on being this way through college. Hell, they still preach that shit.
Guess what fields they all entered? Liberal Arts and teaching.
Not a SINGLE one of them even considered entering computer science or engineering. Yet, all of them still bitch to this day about how their needs to be more women in STEM fields.
YOU wouldn't even consider entering STEM fields and I know for a fact at least 4 of them were offered scholarships if they did enter STEM fields. But none of them did.
If you aren't going to enter a STEM field with a scholarship, than why do expect any other women too? This just doesn't make sense.
I know a few women that did go into STEM fields (mostly computer science) and do good work in their field, but when the majority just don't want to or care to who is to blame?
I know! Let's blame men so we don't have too take responsibility for our choices. /s
Side note: My roommate is a staunch feminist and all "Strong Independent women" yet all she does is bitch that no one will hire her even though she "deserves" the job, can't cook and refuses to, and bosses her beta BF around like no tomorrow.
Yet, somehow getting other people to do everything for you makes you "Strong and Independent".
[deleted] 6y ago
I work in the tech industry and a very liberal city and this kind of shit happens ALL THE TIME. I can't tell you how often I get invited to "Allies of Women in Tech" events and similar bullshit. You know what the funniest part is? You only see people complaining about not enough women in the industry known for cushy, in-demand, high-paying jobs. Where are the "Allies for Women in Construction and Welding" events?
I even interviewed at a tech company that had a forced 50/50 male to female ratio. Meaning, if they're down a couple women and you are the best candidate for the job - well, too bad.
I spoke with a group of SJW's about the fact that women simply aren't majoring in STEM and are opting for teaching, pre-med, and law degrees and that maybe, just maybe, there are less women in tech because they simply aren't interested in it. Their response? Society pushes women away from theses degrees and men discourage them from pursuing them. Keep in mind, they have no problem with a field like nursing having virtually 0 male presence. These people are a lost cause, believe me.
destraht 6y ago
I'm a very prominent member of a particular technology and I was able to get my book on the subject published early this year. I've taken it as my holy mission to say quite a lot of over-the-top things in the chats to set the tone in order to out the SJW. The core-team supports me in this mission since they are all either from conservative cultures or in one case the guy's country has been destroyed by PC Marxist liberal crap. I play the jester and I go about spouting deep truths with an abrasive tone meant to ruffle many feathers. I see it that many normally healthy people just look at it and say whatever but the SJW programming requires that they stand up for everything. Its impossible for them to hide from me.
Hillarysdilddo_2016 6y ago
There's a Swedish? documentary called "brainwash" look for it on YouTube. It addresses exactly what you mentioned.
red_matrix 6y ago
This documentary was so damning that the government ending up shutting down their 'Gender Institute'. What I want to know is - what the hell happened after and how did they get flooded with migrants?
[deleted] 6y ago
*norwegian, swedes would never be allowed to make such thing
AmeriStasi 6y ago
You kidding me, the swedish are the joke of europe. As a european, I think they're fucking pussies. I literally think I can walk in and fuck whoever I want in that country, and no man would stop me. There's really not that many of them, like 5 mil? tops? Of which, maybe 200k aren't cucks?
Tamazin_ 6y ago
And even though its great its not even shown here eventhough our (slightly dumber) Norwegian brothers made a good documentary in such a popular field.
Reformed65 6y ago
Yeah sure, why not? I love creating competition and more work for myself.
Hang on, I have a better idea. Why don't men just quit and let women occupy that 100%? Then we'll be true allies!
Men and women, disunite!
MoDuReddit 6y ago
What a surprise, a died-hair feminist clamoring for female supremacy and discrimination based on sex. And of course, no comments allowed.
Kemol 6y ago
That's what hit me too, the fact that there are no comments allowed. The comment section isn't closed for other articles, but of course on this one. Who allows this kind of stuff in the first place? "Let me write a controversial article, but I don't want anyone to be able to actually start a discussion about it." Fuck that.

bastardstepchild 6y ago
No, they closed the comment section as soon as it was posted. They knew from the start better than to allow any comments.
Robocompany 6y ago
This is nothing. I'm an electrical engineer and I have a Master's degree and a lot of research to my name. But mostly companies right now only want to hire women. Most of my female classmates have got jobs while men just watch. This is how they solve the gender problem in tech. Have quotas and only look to hire women.
redlurker9 6y ago
Not surprising, 99% of men in IT are white knight bitches. Which is perfect for me as I can slay nerd vaginas without any hassle.
RolandTheDickslinger 6y ago
You'd be surprised. The good teams need real men, and those usually aren't white knights.
destraht 6y ago
I know, right? Instead of being somewhere in the 85%+ range I'm in the 98%. I have definitely thought about slaying endless Asian tech pussy pulled from places like Dave and Busters in SV but overall I don't think that its worth the scene and the pay.
max_peenor 6y ago
A couple years ago I did a short stint at a 150 person startup as a personal favor to a long time colleague. These fuckers partied a lot. Sometimes I'd get to the office before the janitors hit the building and it looked like a frat party that went terribly wrong (or right). It was that bad.
Anyway, they had some big party one night and I stayed for it. There was this minxy, tall blonde with a fabulous set of udders that worked the front door. I'm guessing she was 23-ish because she just finished college. (Yes, gents, spend $60,000 on a psychology degree so you can be a door greater for $15 an hour.). She was very receptive to being my arm candy that night. I didn't make a move, as I had way too much to lose if it went wrong because of my friend, but we were otherwise very physical--lots of contact, me guiding her with a hand in the small of her back, her holding on my arm, the works.
The IT guys lost their fucking minds. A guy in his mid-forties had this bombshell blonde hanging on him with literally no effort at all; she stood next to me while getting a drink and I put my hand on her opposite hip and pulled her closer to me. That was it. Each and every one of these IT guys would spend a retarded amount of time talking her up at the front desk. Do you think any of them ever tried to do anything remotely close to what I did to her? Nope. Of course not.
The next day I get lectured by half of them in private about how she has a boyfriend. They all leered at me whenever I wandered by. I'm sure many teeth were grinded when I said anything to her.
Dudes, I didn't even try to fuck her. Losers.
red_matrix 6y ago
Wow - 'She has a boyfriend man, not cool' LOL these kids really need to find their balls. White Knight syndrome. Pathetic. Silicon Valley really needs a kick in the ass.
AmeriStasi 6y ago
lol yah, i hear this all the time, it's ridiculous. Man up and put your fighting gloves on if you're girl is at a bar, or fuck off.
Das_Gaus 6y ago
Also, in what world are you supposed to give half a fuck about her boyfriend? She's a big girl, she can make big girl decisions.
max_peenor 6y ago
The best part is I used to hang out with some of the gals at the office for lunch or drinks after work. I never saw a boyfriend nor did she ever mention it. Huh. I wonder why she would tell the IT boys that. heh
22Luika 6y ago
This kind of shit is hilarious
max_peenor 6y ago
Yeah, I scrolled down to far and found the green-haired hog. Ug...
As someone who has actually hired a lot of women into tech companies, I'll tell you that most of them are a disease. That come into the workplace and try to change things to suit their personal needs. Young tech orgs need to argue. A lot. You are making choices that will decide the fate of the company five years down the line. The conflict and subsequent winning ideas really, really matter. The first thing women will try to do is find a compromise that makes everyone happy. No, you dumb cunt, making us happy in the moment will not solve our problems over the next five years.
TheLegionnaire00 6y ago
Let me tell you all a story. I work as a programmer. Currently at my office we are only men(thanks God I live in eastern europe and nobody gives a shit about "gender equality"), but since I've been hired to this company, I had two women co-workers. First one resisted only a month. She didn't knew shit, she lied in her cv and she didn't pass the easiest questions in the interview, I don't really know why she got hired.
The second one lasted three months. Her desk was next to mine. While I was working hard she spent time watching netflix and eating like a fucking cow(she was over 100kg, muh genetics), while I was doing extra hours she wasn't even doing her part of the job. She wasn't paying attention in the meetings and she was annoying as fuck.
But guess what. They both were paid as much as the rest of us, even tho their contribution to the project was close to none.
Guess what? Women are shit in this industry. Simple as that. I would prefer a high-school student as my co-worker instead of a cow who finished college but knows shit.
CoronaTRP 6y ago
These were only two women, not enough to make general statements about the whole group.
TheLegionnaire00 6y ago
Still 100% of the women I worked with. Women are so used to get everything on a silver platter that they expect the same treatment at work. But work should Be about money. And I don't get why a company should lose money just to keep the feminists happy.
wickedtuesday 6y ago
Eh, I mostly agree with your point but I have worked with a few women in the industry over the years and they were pretty awesome and knowledgeable. My current co-worker and fellow web developer is a women and she is pretty awesome. Easy to work with and gets her shit done before deadlines.
They are rare for sure though. For every one of them I've met 3 similar to the ones you mentioned.
CoronaTRP 6y ago
Yeah diversity hires usually are shit, but sometimes it can be financially sound to get some to virtue signal and get some new customers.
TheLegionnaire00 6y ago
Maybe in some other bussines. Not in IT. Here we need brains.
CoronaTRP 6y ago
Why do big companies do it then? I really hope you are right and google will lose money from their virtue signaling.
TheLegionnaire00 6y ago
They do it to look good in the eyes of the politically correct zombies.
Mr_Bell 6y ago
Right. Just like that other article about how to be an ally to women working in plumbing or in garbage collection.
Except those articles have never been written because those industries involve hard work and are “kinda yucky” and not as glamorous. So they just let men do those for them.
summersss 6y ago
that's a good point. Women only fight to involved in the fun, sexy, billionaire jobs. Nothing on the struggles of getting into the Exterminator biz. I don't have a problem with the suggestions themselves, my problems is with the feasibility.
Here is what would happen if advice is followed. Be a mentor? That mentor could be accused of talking down to women, or Mansplaining. Calling out a women during a meeting if she is not saying anything? well if she really did not have something to say, then that would put her on the spot, and embarrass her, and that man would look like a bully. Praising and singling out the success of a women team member could be seen by the entire team as favoritism, and put her in an awkward position, when she is just trying to be like everyone else. It might also look like praise is being put on her so the guy can latter ask her out.
What should actually happen is something that feminists should love; they can do it themselves, cause if they guys try the will be roasted for it. Make sure there is a record of she contributed in the team. If she didn't get a word in during a team meeting communicate that at a latter date. Instead of waiting for the guy to praise them just make sure to take credit and brag about he own accomplishments.
Cause the ally of women thing just does not work out, men dont like it or mess it up, and women are suspicious of it. An example is when a guy says he's a feminist and the girl accuses him of saying that as a way get dates.
dr_warlock 6y ago
When I go to stackoverflow, all I want is help for my programming problems, not bitches and betas complaining about women and their feelz.
-
When I watch a sport, all I want to see is displays of skill and people hitting eachother, not talking about women and their boobie problems.
-
When I take a class, all I want is relevant material for my certification or degree, not info on female oppression, rape, or white priveledge.
-
Motherfuckers always bending over backwards to cover material outside their domain to help the fake problems of women and 'minorities'. Get a life, read real books, and grow a pair. Just a bunch of spineless chumps.
alexclarkbarry 6y ago
I agree, when I want to watch sports I care about the game, not who is kneeling or standing for the national anthem
WelfareWarriorZ 6y ago
Remember the good old days when stockoverflow was only programming/tech shit. I shit you not it's filled with the shit "life advice" that is irrelevant to why you went to the site.
newls 6y ago
All the "we have a problem" shit in tech makes my fucking blood boil.
[deleted] 6y ago
It’s all just cultural Marxism and the tech industry has fallen for it hook line and sinker.
In the general population extroverts are 50 - 75% depending on whose data you look at. In tech it’s 75% introvert. Being an introvert doesn’t necessarily mean beta but it does mean quiet, meaning they won’t speak up against this bullshit. From experience the guys, introvert or extrovert, are universally beta. So when someone does speak up they get white knighted to death by the few extroverts (case in point the guy at google recently).
Feminists are just rolling through tech culture like ISIS rolled through northern Iraq a few years back. It’s bad and these guys are just dropping their rifles and walking away.
destraht 6y ago
About 12 years ago I was finishing up my CS degree in a Northern California university after changing schools twice. One day we were waiting for the professor on a ledge about 20 feet up and a chick with huge tits and maximum exposed cleavage walked directly underneath us. So I said something to the effect of "Damn, look at that, damn!" and the other CS dorks there were too beaten down to even look at her tits and we had nothing better to do and they were already in position. Far too many of them are just complete losers with negative confidence. I think that some of them are the sorts who would feel too inadequate to even visualize a woman while they are beating off. I like that ISIS line.
AmeriStasi 6y ago
It's no different than a man coming in and demanding a position, and getting it. Silicon valley is filled with push overs, when I see women walking all over them, I wonder what's stopping me from doing the same. The only reason silicon valley companies are conforming to leftist demands in the cultural sphere, is because they all have daddy issues like strippers, and have probably been raised by single mothers. They have no idea how to be dominant. Or maybe it's genetic. They're just defective. That's why theres more dogs than children in sf. Because it's filled with pathetic little "men".

Well fucking said. The real progress is made by men. Women jump on the cart at the end when it's showing promise.
AmeriStasi 6y ago
I don't know what you're talking about, as an immigrant from a patriarchal culture, yours looks like one ripe for the taking. You're all pussies, and it just seems easy. All you have to do is step around the land mines of the evolutionary dead ends that are the feminists (which are the equivalent and opposite of some of the people on this forum, who will never reproduce above replacement).
All you have to do, is think beyond your tiny life span to think about the long term evolutionary effects of the culture we live in. It's like 2-3 generations and the aggregate of dumb feminists and weak men will be eliminated. Including the whole "don't get married" crowd that fails to reproduce and jerks off thinking they're the top of the world for 2 decades until they're old men no woman wants, wishing they had sons.

As a college student majoring in IT let me tell you it's only getting worse. We have full conversations in class now about white privilege, the struggles of minorities and women, and what strategies we can adopt to help them. Totally fucking irrelevant but so is the politics that's dragged into any college course these days!
red_matrix 6y ago
When people bring up these 'conversations' does anyone really take it serious - or do most people just approach it like a check-in-the-box exercise?
re3al 6y ago
We've had these 'conversations' too. We had a full back and forth from teacher to students about the evils of the patriarchy. And this is purely a technical class. You can't escape it nowadays. Even in pure STEM.
red_matrix 6y ago
Do the students really buy into it? I could see these 'conversations' having the opposite effect.
re3al 6y ago
Most of the students buy into it. Maybe 10% don't and speak up about it people gang up on them.
red_matrix 6y ago
Geez - I really don't understand how everyone is turning into lemmings.
SlowWing 6y ago
Thats what ahppens when people only care about technique. No math class is gonna teach you about history, philosophy, debate techniques etc etc.
Frenchy036 6y ago
As I am in upstate New York it's pretty damn liberal so yeah, there are always the people who take it seriously. I usually just keep my head down and my mouth shut (like I did during the election). Luckily there are a few people here who see eye to eye on this shit, but to say anything would be to sacrifice our grades and potentially get white knight lynched so ¯_(ツ)_/¯
red_matrix 6y ago
Jesus. When I heard this was going on everywhere I thought it was just a false gesture and check in the box exercise nobody took serious. Sorry dude - looks like you gotta stay in re-education for a little while longer.

Why do they never make a fuss over the lack of male teachers in schools? In Australia it never gets mentioned even though it's a big problem.

Saw an ad out of the corner of my eye recently: "Here's a list of 183 women who can speak at your tech conference". Like she's going to get on the speaker list simply because she has some vagina. She really honestly thinks those women OUGHT to get on the list because vagina. Picture it to yourself, 183 teched-up honeys are tapping their foot impatiently, waiting for that invitation email to come talk about vagina at a tech conference.
Bitches are hilarious overall, that's why we love them.
Hillarysdilddo_2016 6y ago
Dude. Stack overflow is SJW central. Joel Spolsky, the creator, is a huge leftist SJW faggot a-la Facebook, Google, Intel.
I don't know what it is, maybe growing up a malnourished, fat beta slob with vitamin D deficiency makes these boys into low test nu males with feminine tendencies. I really would like a scientific study on how to cure these epic levels of cuckdom.
Anyway this Joel guy often writes shit like "open borders is the future" and pushes his SJW leftist tripe on the rest of the community. So it is not the first time they pull shit like that.
This whole "you can be an ally to women" fuck them. Sure legions of beta males will white knight for m'lady thinking they're doing good in the world, but I'll continue to undermine their faggot efforts.
Where is my ally? Where are my shortcuts? If it's too much trouble for you to go to school, study, graduate, find a job, and go to work then fuck you. You're not fit for the job.
They can take this coddling, discriminatory, bullshit and shove it up their asses.
I know of three women in corporate who got pregnant. One of them "worked from home" months before the baby was due. "Work from home" was code for did not do jack shit. Literally. No calls, no emails, no work nothing. The company doesn't terminate her because I guess they are an ally.
The other women take like 4 months of paid maternity leave. Then quit when it's time to come back.
So remember gents when she's paid as much as you, really she is working 60% as hard and making the same pay.
So by all means.. Be a pathetic bitch. Be an ally to women in tech. Cut your own balls off and suck your bull's cock while you're at it.
re3al 6y ago
Thank fuck there are people like you in tech. I'm in school for CS at the moment and i'm surrounded by 'allies'. Regular conversations in class about the patriarchy and the evils of straight white males.
It's a seriously negative point for me about the industry. I love computers and I want to work in the industry, but this silicon valley / university based leftist bs is nauseating. You can't get away from it.
redditer0 6y ago
I don't know this guy in particular, but all that "open borders" and feminism is marketing for the companies:
So maybe these nerds are beta, or maybe they are alpha, killing the competition and showing strength (look, I'm so confident that I don't mind to fuck all my entire gender because I'll be ok anyway).
UPDATE: I'll add that all these "sexism" bullshit is excellent for governments and companies for being able to arrest or dismiss anyone that could be a problem (almost all revolutions were started by men) or that could jeopardize power itself. E.g.: Assange.
Hillarysdilddo_2016 6y ago
You are spot on. The key is this is an easy way to exploit people and enrich companies.
The open borders bullshit is particularly amazing.
They claim to be proponents of democracy, but what they really are saying is "fuck you, you have no right to a home, a nation, or sovereign rule." If you don't have those things then essentially you don't have rights as a human being.
And the low IQ idiots lap this shit up because it "feels" virtuous.
popthatpill 6y ago
Spolsky is a literal fag, so a conventional beta-supplication explanation probably doesn't work. He was a big Obama supporter back in the day and from his surname I'm guessing he's Jewish, so there's another SJW red flag.
He cofounded Stackoverflow, I think.
Hillarysdilddo_2016 6y ago

Leftism cannot survive the light of debate. This is why it always comes at the end of a gun. See Las Vegas if there's doubt.
destraht 6y ago
Well man it seems rather early to be definitely putting out the guy's motivation. It could be a false flag to go after guns, it might be that Trump supporters like "country music" and it could have even been an FBI weapons deal/string to jihadists gone wrong.
ceilingscorpion 6y ago
The three things mentioned in the article are things I do to for all co-workers. I don't see how this is a feminist issue as the author frames it in the introduction. The author is making a gendered issue where one does not exist. (Correlation does not imply causation)
She makes a remark on the now infamous Google memo, but it is apparent that she has not read it and instead ascribes to the hive-mind that is characteristic of stereotypical feminists. The point of that memo was that ratios in Tech are skewed because men and women have different intelligences. It's the same reason why women overwhelmingly dominate professions such as teaching and nursing.
I will concede that there are a ton of smarter women than me in Tech, but these women don't write blog posts about being treated unequally by their colleagues; their work speaks for itself.
[deleted]
Echelon64 6y ago
This has been going on for about 5 years now. Nothing new to be honest. The good thing is that programming logic is gender neutral. I don't give 10 shits what your genitals are, I need help on X problem end of discussion.
[deleted] 6y ago
Goddamn this is all so depressing. I get that there are always going to be extremist freaks, but the fact that normal people go along with this shit just makes you lose your hope.
quicklogaccount 6y ago
You see, it saddens me that people are looking into "humanizing" otherwise hard fields to accommodate the needs of soft people, not just women.
When Sarah Sharp left the kernel development community she addressed precisely the need for that, folks need to be more soft to each other. With all the (very) due respect for her, should you think that's the way to go, lead a project that way and the market shall do the rest.
The absence of women in tech does strike as a societal issue to me, but not by any means one to be addressed in the companies. How about telling folks that being numbersmiths is better than writing pretty heartfelt mature compositions in high school, so that STEM appeals to normal people and not only to those that are otherwise bad in writing and good with math.
I'm Brazilian. Only actual geniuses can manage to work and learn the whole shit we expect teens to know. Upper middle class folks don't need to work so the smart guys, 2% and such, can fare well too. The whole rest just says crap like "ok, I suck at math but I suuuuuuper love Sociology, I'll make a Durkheim tatoo" and graduates without being able to grasp compound interests.
So you get folks, men and women alike, in Engineering, having a hard time with high school math reviews, and running campaigns for "less stressful college environments" and "psychologically adequate" environments, creating Engineers that can't fucking understand what other Engineers say and whine about their bosses being "terrible in teaching things".
MattyAnon Admin 6y ago
The never ending feminism machine, enabled and supported by pathetic white knights.
More subtlely .... the "everyone is equal" narrative has now been rammed so far home that people believe that absence of women must be caused by male oppression.
At least in cushy STEM jobs. Noone is asking where there are so few women on oilrigs. Because the answer is obvious: women don't want to. When it comes to STEM however, noone dares say "women don't want to do that"..... so the narrative says it has to be caused by male oppression of the wimminz.
There was a study where women's voices were obscured so they wouldn't be prejudiced against in telephone interviews. What happened? Women did worse. They had their female privilege revoked and had to compete on a level playing field.
popthatpill 6y ago
Spolsky is a shit-stabber, so his motive probably isn't conventional white-knighting. The gay motive for SJW behaviour strikes me as just being mutual support from one SJW client demographic (fags) to another ("women in tech", ie. women trying to colonise male spaces).
At least, that's the simplest explanation that occurs to me.
BrodinsOats 6y ago
Yes, it is cultural Marxism, both parties identify as oppressed.
[deleted] 6y ago
Can you link to that study? Not trying to be a douche, I genuinely want to read it.
MattyAnon Admin 6y ago
http://blog.interviewing.io/we-built-voice-modulation-to-mask-gender-in-technical-interviews-heres-what-happened/
yeshras 6y ago
Interviews aren't necessarily indicative of technical skill. There's plenty of socially stunted STEM practicioners that are absolutely brilliant.
Moreover, this study doesn't take into account all factors that might have skewed the study.
reydemierde 6y ago
If everyone is equal then it should be impossible for one group to oppress another.
MattyAnon Admin 6y ago
There is no such thing as equality. The concept is meaningless.
The pursuit of equality is benefitting anyone who doesn't want to work or give value, at the expense of those who do.

It's funny how roughly 18% of all CS programming degrees are women, and women complain that there are less women in CS careers than men...

Hilarious how they use the word "ally." Being an "ally" means you support each other. The support they want flows only one way. Should be, "3 Ways You Can Be Furniture for Women in Tech"

Jesus christ not this site too! I liked stackoverflow. And lets face it, women don't choose IT jobs.
I study computer engineering and there's like 15 girls in my class of 75: so that's like 20% of the class.

Have you talked to women OP? How did you form this opinion? I have long term relationships and friendships with several women in engineering academic disciplines and professions. They tell me constantly how much they feel they have to prove themselves, because the very fact they are a woman makes them feel discredited. Maybe men, who hold the majority, should try to open their ears to women before quickly writing them off.

I don't get this whole ally thing. Why the fuck would I want to be an ally to someone who will try and compete with me. To me I will ally with people who I think I can benefit from and help them as well. I have zero interest in helping others compete with me. If I have a privilege why the fuck would I want to give that privilege up and have a shittier life so someone else can move up in the world. The whole argument about check your privilege is insane to me. I'm supposed to purposefully make my life shittier so a stranger can have more money and success? Yeah fuck that non-sense. You want what's mine then come and take it but I sure as fuck won't give it to you.

Saw it this morning. Didn't click. Don't give it attention, negative or positive. Seriously it's the only way out.

Been happening on SO for a VERY long time. It's pervasive across the entire Stack Exchange network. Only need to look at the questions on the Academia one to see spineless chumps asking whether it's okay to do things. They just want permission to do anything.
