Based on how the hand has played out, what is the likelihood your opponent has a good hand (aka: what is his range?) If u raise and he reraises at the beginning of a hand, that is usually an obvious indicator that he is starting with strong hole cards. In contrast, if your opponent has only called bets and has not raised at any point, he has a wider range of possible hands and may be easily bluffed.
Has the board texture improved or hurt his range? Say im pretty sure a guy has pocket aces or kings. When the river brings 4 to a straight, like 89JQ, I could conceivably bluff knowing he has a lot to worry about.
Tendency of opponent. If ive seen him call off huge bets with just a pair, that tells me bluffing him is a huge mistake. (Most novices play exactly like this. Call off way too much because they don't want to have been bluffed)
Does my story check out. Say I raise on the flop and my opponent calls. The turn and river both come spades putting 3 spades on the board. Given that I represented a strong hand on the flop, can I now represent that I have a flush? Bluffing here would be asking my opponent to believe two different stories at one time and likely wouldn't work.
Yes this is pretty much it. Players bluff when a) they believe they have the weaker hand and b) they believe they can make the person with the better hand fold enough of the time to make the bluff profitable.
Another factor is you also need to have huge control over your emotions. The best players can get unlucky and still play the next hand optimally. As we know, men tend to have greater emotional control so poker plays into men's strengths in that aspect too.

AWALT isn't really saying all women are like that all the time. What it is saying is that all women have the potential to be like that at any time, and since you can't know for sure who is or who isn't, or if/when it's gonna happen, it's wise to assume she is than assume she isn't and get caught off-guard.

The problem with women and their lies is they're good at believing their own lies IN THE MOMENT and feigning the indignation of someone who is telling the truth when you disbelieve them. The rationalisation hamster works against women, but likewise it works for them too. It is well established that between 10-15% of children are being raised by men who think they are the biological fathers, but are not. 10-15%! Yet we are asked to believe that 15-20% of women have affairs. This is a mathematical absurdity. The number must be VASTLY greater, probably 80-90%, in order to have the result of 10-15% false paternity. 1) In your own link, there's a separate, newer study(2010) under "sex practices" that points out that its often not even very widely agreed what most people consider "having sex" to be.

You get that, if we're talking heterosexual sex only, the true mean of partners men and women have HAS to be the same, right? I met this woman on Tinder who was pretty awesome. Super hot hair stylist, sexy tattoos, and we seemed to click right away.
After a week of chatting with her (She was 100mi away) she tells me that she recently broke up with her boyfriend of 6 years and really wants to come meet me. I agreed, and the plan was she was going to drive out to my city and we'd smoke, drink, and fuck.
Fast forward to the night before she is coming up. She had given me her Snapchat name and it included her last name. I couldn't resist so I creeped her on facebook and what do you know? Showed she is in a relationship with the same guy she said she had broken up with. I looked at the guys page and honestly I had a weird feeling inside... He looked like a good guy to me and I realized I didn't want to do this to him.
The next time she texted me I came clean and let her know I found her fb and saw she was still in a relationship and that I'm not down for this cause I don't want it on my conscious. Then the epic hamster began to spin and she went into super self-defense mode. "Obviously I have an explanation but I doubt you will even listen to it." ... lol typical. She kept repeating that there was an explanation, so I humored her. Apparently she didn't remove it from her facebook yet because she "Didn't want to explain to her family and friends that she ended her relationship". Sure...
I cancelled on her, and even a month later her fb still shows she is in a relationship to that dude. Poor guy, but it goes to show that women will lie to everyone and anyone so long as their agenda can be fulfilled.
On an end note, I know that I didn't owe that guy shit and could have easily fucked his girl, but I'm glad I didn't because I would have had that on my conscious. If I never knew anything about the boyfriend I woulda smashed her but it is what it is.

Thought I was over the angry bitter phase until I met up with a female friend (Girl 1) of mine. We went to a local bar and she saw a friend of hers that she hasn't seen in awhile (Girl 2). They're doing their whole catching up talking about guys thing and I'm encouraging them.
The shit these two women were saying was next level. They both openly talked about how they were emotionally manipulating guys. Although it didn't seem like they thought of it as such. They saw it as girls being girls in my opinion.
Girl 2 then tells a story of how she saw an ex of hers with a new girl and then got him to dump new girl after spilling her feelings about him. He complies which is obviously a huge turn off for her but she kept playing him along. He went on a euro trip and she told him when he came back they'd get back together.
Enter Rich Boy. She meets and starts seeing the son of a wealthy local business man. We're talking solid millionaire. Messages the first guy on FB and tells him its over. ("I wanted to be with you for all the wrong reasons "). Then she proceeds to do some mad humble bragging as she tells us Rich Boy was sending her snapchats during lunch from a local expensive ass steakhouse. What got me most was the pride in her voice. I can't accept women being nice anymore cause I'm always trying to figure their motivations. Definitely helped cement my anti marital views.

If women are better liars, it's not because they are more "psychologically sophisticated"(pretty sure if it was men being better at lying here, the term wouldn't be "psychologically sophisticated", it would be manipulative, conniving or malevolent). They get away with lying a lot more because they are women, and men are conditioned to value honesty or to take pride in their word. It all comes down to accountability. Women are just not held to the same standards of responsibility and accountability, so they might not really see any significant value, honour, pride or mandate in being honest the way men would.

While they definitely are better on average, I think that, like most things, a tiny minority of men will always be at the top of any field. I think that trained men are much, much better at catching and telling lies because while it may not come to them instinctively, they can objectively analyze, study, mimic, and come to reasonable conclusions much more easily. Women don't put thought into it; they just do it instinctively, and because of that, they never push their boundaries.
Think politicians, criminals who never get caught, intelligent sociopaths, etc.; these bastards can slip in and out of any social system whenever they want. No one ever suspects them. People are too busy being suspicious of quiet people, loners, homeless people to notice the kind, charming man stealing everything they have.

I'm relatively huge into poker, and the reason women in general aren't as good at it as men is because it requires a lot more logic and rationalism than it does lying. Bluffs need to have a rational basis for them to be effective. Pretty much all novice players bluff for bad reasons; the thrill of it, I want to beat this specific opponent, he could fold, I want to try it, etc.

A lot of different things go into it.
Based on how the hand has played out, what is the likelihood your opponent has a good hand (aka: what is his range?) If u raise and he reraises at the beginning of a hand, that is usually an obvious indicator that he is starting with strong hole cards. In contrast, if your opponent has only called bets and has not raised at any point, he has a wider range of possible hands and may be easily bluffed.
Has the board texture improved or hurt his range? Say im pretty sure a guy has pocket aces or kings. When the river brings 4 to a straight, like 89JQ, I could conceivably bluff knowing he has a lot to worry about.
Tendency of opponent. If ive seen him call off huge bets with just a pair, that tells me bluffing him is a huge mistake. (Most novices play exactly like this. Call off way too much because they don't want to have been bluffed)

Another factor is you also need to have huge control over your emotions. The best players can get unlucky and still play the next hand optimally. As we know, men tend to have greater emotional control so poker plays into men's strengths in that aspect too.

I'll never forget having a feminist psychology professor in college teaching us about developmental psychology and how societal influences affect development.

If you wait until after the child support is ordered to get a DNA test, you will STILL be ordered child support for the cuckold spawn. The way the state sees it, they don't give a shit if it's your baby or not. Better you pay for it than the state. Also remember that states get federal funds on the back end for every dollar of CS ordered. The state/courts are literally INCENTIVIZED to order child support, and they really don't give a shit if its bio-dad or cuckold beta paying for it. You are just one of thousands of custody/support hearings they deal with, just a cog in the system.
Even if you can find a (most likely feminist) family court judge who will take a DNA test into consideration, the over-the-counter DNA test from Walgreens or WalMart will not be admissible. They will claim it to be a tainted test, due to there being no "chain of custody" for the test at a hospital or lab.

Trying to "red pill" your way out of the claws of a pregnant woman's paternity accusation is like trying to buy homeowner's insurance after your house catches on fire. Nobody's issuing that policy.

I've gotten into this several times with women. I asked how she'd feel if we were on a date, hit it off, went home together, and when it came time to take clothes off it turned out I had shoes on that added 3" to my height but you can't tell that's what they are by looking at them.
You can imagine how that goes down. Every. Single. Time.
Thinking back to my being confused as to how hypocritical it is, yet how they just can't admit it, it's funny to picture a hamster in her head now.
I've been able to let go of so much frustration after realizing AWALT, and that's just simply how they are. It's no fucking use. Waste of time to have a convo like that. At best I now do that sorta shit for a laugh, not expecting a rational argument like I used to.

I'm chalking it up to a recent experience I had with a fucking 10 who asked me to help her carry her laundry downstairs - I pointed out that she wasn't carrying anything else and it was silly of me to be doing her a favor like that, in a casual and light-hearted way, not accusing her of anything. She instantly went from fun and giggly to HEATED and wouldn't let me touch the damn laundry basket. She said something about how she would ask any "friend" to help out and blahblahblah... Later when we were in bed and I had my arm around her waist, she said something to the effect that I was "lucky" to be with someone as hot as she was. I cracked about how it was she who was the lucky one and I could tell that didn't sit right with her. She played it off politely by agreeing really half-heartedly. But I was real clear by then that she was full of herself and my value to her as a person fell somewhere between stick and ken doll. She fished for compliments and when I pointed that out she didn't deny it.
Anyways, this statement:

I think woman's ease of infidelity is part of the reason they are so incredibly afraid of abandonment, that and the awareness their power is in their beauty and that said beauty is in a constant state of depreciation. With some chicks you can throw in daddy issues as well. It's an ironic projection of the fact that when deemed optimal and necessary (aka upgrading via hypergamy - hypergrading!) that she will abandon you with no fucks given in spite of the temerity of her vocalised "loyalty" to swing to higher branches up the hierarchical totem pole, and should she fall from grace (or simply the man she upgrades to kicks her back down) she'll try to win you back, convincing herself and you that she was just confused and she shouldn't have left and blah blah fucking bullshit. If you ever get spun this line by the way, no matter how convincing her diatribe, do not be swayed, do not indignify yourself to the ploy of such deception. And because part of her knows she possesses these qualities, this kind of "fluid loyalty" that can only be described accurately as fickleness, she projects that fear onto men thinking they're the same.
The problem with women and their lies is they're good at believing their own lies IN THE MOMENT and feigning the indignation of someone who is telling the truth when you disbelieve them. The rationalisation hamster works against women, but likewise it works for them too. Women are good at believing their own bullshit so they can have AF/BB or attach themselves to you until something better comes along. It's not so much psychopathy as it is wilful delusion used to manipulate "the self" effectively and thus by extension, those around her who enquire about her "self."
Women inwardly project what they find attractive in men as traits that men should find attractive in them (career/education/status) so it's not a long shot to think the same kind of projection applies to things like infidelity. I think a lot of what women think about men is a projection of what they're really like themselves.
Case in point, I'm highly Machiavellian, so I tend to always be on the lookout for Machiavellian tendencies in others, sometimes I may suspect something where there is nothing to be suspected, over-analysis but unlike a woman who is impulsive and emotional enough to act on that suspicion, I simply hold it in my psychological hand as a potential possibility of being fucked over (and if it comes to fruition without me being able to stop it prior there's minimal impact to my psyche because I was aware of the possibility.) I think women do the same kind of shit with their romantic relationships although they act on their suspicions by making accusations rather than keeping their suspicion to themselves. Women are very quick to reveal their hand via projection, thinking the projection will serve as a shield from their own illicit activity by serving as an act of misdirection. Such simple misdirection will fool the majority who know no better, but to people adept in psychology/Machiavellianism the facade will be seen for what it is: bullshit misdirection delivered via projection.
Baseless accusations of cheating = she's cheating, baseless accusations of not caring about the relationship = she doesn't care any more, women who accuse you of "being a player" probably want to ride the cock carousel because they want to fuck players at an incredible rate etc.
The only way to ensure a woman's loyalty is to make her dependent on you whilst limiting her options. It sounds cold, it sounds cruel, it's a distasteful notion wholly, but likewise it is reality. If she can do better she won't stick around.

When men are unfaithful they are usually a bit louder about it. Sure they try to keep it secret, but nothing even remotely as well as women. And when men get caught, women take him to the cleaners and let everyone know. Whereas women are very sneaky, include a lot of plausable deniability, and when they do get caught, they do a very good job at switching the story around to make them look like a victim -- at least to those that are close to her and she wants to keep around.
So because of this, men's cheating just has much more exposure which makes people think it's much more common. Similar to the idea that police brutality is on the rise, even though it's on a sharp decline, but since we now have more exposure to it, we get the false impression that it's more common. However, women are more like the Illuminati of affairs; they've been doing it for ages and have mastered the craft.
A perfect example: Look at bachelorette and bachelor parties. Men are always sort of under the suspicion that they are going to do some unethical things at these events, so they sort of feel under the microscope. Sure, they get wild, but most of the time they have clear lines they draw, and are relatively open about what they did during the party. Meanwhile, people don't expect anything too crazy at a woman's bachelor party. So they are able to get away with all sorts of things simply because no one is expecting it.
However, for anyone that's been to a number of these parties on both sides knows there is a clear difference. Woman are ruthless at these events and do shit you'd never imagine would go down. I swear to God they are turn into drunk sorority girls again and just go ape shit. Then when it's all said and done, ALL of the women just play it off casually like nothing too crazy happened.
Finally, women don't just have a greater capacity for cheating, they also have more opportunity. The type of guys getting hit on on the street routinely aren't in a large supply. Most guys aren't getting all sorts of offers in which they can actually take up and grab on a regular basis. But women do. Most women are routinely getting hit on by men when married. They have more chances and opportunity to actual cheat when compared to men.

About a decade ago there was a big survey conducted that ranked all the states in the US in terms of obesity numbers. I believe it was the largest study of its kind, and all the data was collected via telephone surveys. A few years later it was discovered that the data from the Northeast was heavily flawed because so many women lied about their weight.

RP says most women are whores. Sex studies show women consistently report having sex much less often then men. So lets say we correct for this a bit.
Males 30-44 report an average of 6-8 female sexual partners in their lifetime (Mosher, Chandra, & Jones, 2005). Females 30-44 report an average of 4 male sexual partners in their lifetime (Mosher, Chandra, & Jones, 2005).
Lets use 7 and 4 as the reported figures, and 6.16 and 4.8 as actual figures. So we've accounted for hamstering, and you're still not seeing the result you expect. How does that fit into RP? Most women still have less partners than men.

So let's accept the 20%/12% figure you picked for now, though I'm personally biased to believe its a bit more.
Basicaly, I have just 2 points to say on the point you bring up:
1) In your own link, there's a separate, newer study(2010) under "sex practices" that points out that its often not even very widely agreed what most people consider "having sex" to be.
So I ask you, half the people here, don't consider... hand-jobs/fingering to be under "having sex". ...ok, fair enough. Only 71% consider oral sex to be "having sex". Hm. 19.2% don't consider anal sex to be "sex". wat(heh, catholic girls come to mind). If a condom is used, or whether the partners achieve orgasm or they are on the receiving end of stimulation... The answers vary. Basically not even 100% of PIV sex is "sex". This is a yes/no question, keep in mind.
This really makes you wonder what the hell people are reporting. I could be a woman taking this survey and be sensitive enough to think to myself "oh, that blowjob doesn't count. He wasn't my... sexual partner". Meanwhile some lonely 20-something guy thinks to himself "I felt up her breasts! She was my sexual partner". Neither are explicitly lying at this point, but then it just gets a bit too confusing to take the study seriously, wouldn't you say? Because its really not comparing people objectively over the same act.
2) RP deals with women we want to sleep with. See, we're not really interested in what Chubsroll bubblegirl is doing with her life. Unfortunately, that means the whole of RP, from unattractive to very attractive is aiming for the top 50% of more attractive women.
So, how many attractive women are sleeping around, would you say? I'd be interested in that data.

RP theory predicts that the distribution of sex partners is flattish for women and incredibly skewed toward the top 20% for men. Without information as to how many partners the "14+" men actually had, the study you cite isn't evidence either way.

I hear that. Over at TAM there is a lot of discussion about the different types of affairs. Physical (PA), emotional (EA), and sexual (SA). My ex had all of them but got caught because of the emotional attachment to men that purely wanted to fuck her. Broke the idiots heart when she wasn't able to lock down the two main other guys for something actually real after I bailed. My son suffered for it pretty bad with physical abuse that manifested itself from her insanity and extremely poor judgment. I hope she finds some way to learn, grow, and become a better person. There have been studies of blood types of children and their fathers that can determine whether the paternity is, literally, impossible. The statistics of this floor number are ridiculous. The mean number of fucks when comparing the sexes must match unless you're including fucking sheep and other species. That's the bottom line. Some guy is fucking then this means some chick is getting fucked.

Not only that, but women are always justifying it too. I've heard guys admit to cheating, and they know it's shitty, and good friends will generally tell them that too--that what their doing is shitty.
Women on the other hand always justify it, they have a reason for their man not being this or that, and they need the "affection" or whatever from someone else. They're only in the wrong if they get caught, and even then you can be damn sure their "apology", if they have one, will be followed up with a tearful reason for their actions, making them the victim.
And their friends only help them to justify whatever shitty action their doing, and support them. Of course these same "friends" will go behind their back and tell everyone else how shitty they are.

After being cheated on myself I went through a phase of seducing taken women as an immature form of payback just so that I could interview them afterward and ask them why they cheated... All of them basically said their boyfriends/husbands didn't do anything wrong, they don't plan on leaving them and that they were all just basically bored and wanted to reinvigorate a level of passion in their lives.
In other words they read romance novels for a reason. They want to be seduced and their emotions hunger for the drama brought on by the onset of an illicit affairs. It's all chemical for them.
After those experiences I stopped fearing being cheated on and dread games no longer have an effect on me. I will basically dare them to cheat on me and calmly state that if they do cheat they risk losing me forever over a cheap thrill and they will regret it. And it works, accountability rises by 20-40%.

Agreed, it's more implied than spoken. More stated like if she wants to fuck a loser then go ahead. More often than not it is some loser anyway. The key is to maintain frame and not show fear of her fucking it all up.
Edit: A woman who actually feels challenged in a relationship will stop at nothing to find your weakness and will explore and bombard you with shit tests until they find what makes you anxious. It takes a while but they will give up after a while as long as you maintain frame. If they don't dump them while pointing out what an irrational psychopath they are. Men are judged all the time as to whether they are promiscuous enough or whether they get cuckolded. I assumed the author was trying to claim that women have it harder than men regarding sexuality (a common claim I hear). It's similar to how people often claim women struggle with media portrayals if perfect females all the time, neglecting to remember that men/boys deal with that all the time too.
