TL;DR - Don't trust ANYONE. LTR just dodged a speeding ticket by falsely accusing me of domestic abuse.
Just what the title says. Had a LTR for two years. Never planned on getting married, wore protection despite knowing she had a ring. I never saw any red flags, and believe me, I was looking. I thought I was playing it safe. Women will ruin your life if it gives them a break.
Her and I were grabbing a late night drink when she got off work. I made fun of her, and her reply was to spit some of her drink on me. Needless to say, I wasn't having any of that. I wiped off my arm and chest, paid for my drink, and left. She followed me out, passed me on the road, and slammed on her breaks. A cop was on the other side of the road, and pulled her over. I continued home.
Shortly after arriving, I get a call from the police station, saying if I don't come down, they will be issuing a warrant for my arrest for domestic abuse. I've never laid a hand on her.
I'll be spending the next few days telling my story and hoping the guys at the bar will confirm that I left peacefully.
MGTOW is the only way, brothers... I'm actually scared. I've worked so hard to build my empire. I'm 23 and I just bought a house. And now I might be sent to prison for literally nothing.
Scizzler 7y ago
Um, so you "never" got any red flags? Yet she spits on you and dies all that other shit? Riiiiiiight bro. You wouldn't know a red flag if it literally slapped you in your face. You should have dropped this bitch the second you saw the red flags.....um sure there were hundreds with a dumb bitch like that. But keep living your "reality", I'm sure you'll end up just fine.
[deleted] 7y ago
It's been a full day or more and this guy has posted zero updates and this post was actually his last post on his history.
Damn. I'm worried about this guy's safety right now.
LordThunderbolt 7y ago
If she's spitting her drink at you, that's not coming from out of nowhere. That's a huge red flag, and it's no way the first. You MUST have overlooked the previous ones.
RedSyringe 7y ago
Yeah, complete garbage that she's been an angel for 2 years then suddenly spits a drink and accuses him of DV.

What kind of update is that? Fucks sake. You young people have no respect anymore. I wanted my internet drama!

JackGetsIt 7y ago
This is basically the most important lesson to learn about women.
PantsonFire1234 7y ago
Well in all fairness in her mind this all makes perfect sense. You see OP was fucking with her emotionally so she felt abused. Then when she tried to chase him she got pulled over.
"Well how did you get pulled over fine Lady?" "Simple, my boyfriend abused me and I was in distress trying to follow him officer!"
Women gonna women
JackGetsIt 7y ago
In normal town the officer would have used some logic, "Why are you chasing your abuser?" But we don't live in normal town. We live in white knight ville.
user_none 7y ago
And women will almost always have other men do their bidding. Whether it's the idiot white knight, or the state, one will aim to take you down and with violence.

Never voluntarily talk to police about your side of a story. Their only goal is to collect enough information to make a charge stick. They're not interested in letting you go if your story is good enough, only using your story against you.
If the police ask you to come to the station over an alleged crime, tell them that you've done nothing wrong and ask if you are under arrest. If not, you're free to go. If they arrest you, don't say anything, no matter how trivial. Only state that you want an attorney.
IDefyAxioms 7y ago
Don't even do this. Do not make any admissions or statements regarding your guilt in the charge.
[deleted] 7y ago
Lawyer up first thing in the morning. Try to find witnesses at the bar via the bar staff. Maybe they have a video of your visit? Maybe some of the people there were regulars?
yumyumgivemesome 7y ago
Honest question, how exactly does one go about finding a decent lawyer on short notice over the weekend in such a high-consequences type of situation like this?
Chelseaqix 7y ago
Avvo.com (I work for a marketing agency that focuses on lawyers)
[deleted] 7y ago
If you can reach out to friends, family, coworkers, people you trust you may have luck in getting a reference. As others said, say NOTHING to the cops and make them get a warrant if they are so anxious to talk to you. Press charges on this woman for false statement. Get over to that bar and get that video footage and contact info for witnesses so your attorney has good foundation to build your case on. Good luck and remain calm, this will pass and life will get better!
[deleted] 7y ago
Most lawyers who are serious about their practice are just a phone call away. I have family who practiced law who would receive calls from all hours of the day from their clients.
favours_of_the_moon 7y ago
It doesn't take much.
Btw, you can never speak to her or see her again.
[deleted] 7y ago
Everything you need to know you can learn from the taglines at the end of the X-Files intro video:
The Truth is Out There
Trust No One
Deny Everything
[deleted] 7y ago
Do not go to the police station. If they had enough to issue a warrant and arrest you, they wouldn't bother calling to politefully request a visit. This is a trap designed to get you into an intereogation room and trick you into self-incriminating.
Definitely contact an attorney asap.
In the unlikely event you are somehow arrested before being able to contact an attorney, do not say a single word other than "I'd like to contact my attorney, please," or "I'm sorry officers, but I am not saying anything without an attorney present." They will try to intimidate you and they will lie to you. They will do whatever it takes specifically to get you talking with no attorney present.

THIS THIS THIS
rigneja 7y ago
Not sure what state but domestic violence is the only crime where the sworn affidavit of the accuser is grounds to issue a temporary restraining order etc. once that happens you have ten days before it goes to court to see if a final restraining order should be issued. If you have guns they will be seized if a TRO is issued and you must make a motion to get them back - at your expense of course. Get the fuck off Reddit and lawyer up now. Also note - if a TRO or FRO is issued and she or her agent contacts you she can and will be criminally charged. Speak to no one about this except your attorney - if you do get dragged in front of a judge offer to enter into a mutual restraint order where you both agree to stay clear of each other - quite often they don't have the same loss of property and other ramifications
user_none 7y ago
Depending on the state, the person who gets the TRO is not bound to no contact. Meaning, if she files for a TRO and it's granted, he cannot contact her, but she can contact him. The lines are blurred a bit with court paperwork, but that's a different topic.
rigneja 7y ago
Hence why mutual restraints are the better option
[deleted]
[deleted] 7y ago
I hope you read this in time.
Don't go to the police station. It's a god damn trap. If they wanted to get you, you'd be in cuffs already and not posting on reddit.
Contact your lawyer NOW. Tell your lawyer to contact the bar and request CCTV footage.
rigneja 7y ago
Don't have the attorney just request the footage - serve them with notice that the footage is discoverable evidence and must be secured and not over written - most security cameras are connected to a DVR that over writes then the disk is full - this needs to happen asap or your evidence could be destroyed
vox_veritas 7y ago
Correct. The attorney needs to send a subpoena first thing, along with a spoliation letter. The bar isn't under a legal obligation to produce or disclose the footage with just a letter. I made this mistake exactly once in my practice. Now, the first contact from me is a subpoena for the footage via a private process server.
smfc 7y ago
fuck the police and fuck MGTOW. if they would have had ANY evidence to amount to a warrant they wouldn't be "asking" you to go to the police station. you're a man god dammit, go arm yourself with something solid like a 44mag, tell the cops to fuck themselves, they have no evidence on you. Stop being scared of nothing.
[deleted]
dr_warlock 7y ago
Dont say shit to the police. Get a lawyer, get ahold of the bar footage then charge her for a false police report and assault (splashing drinks on people is considered assault). Put her life in the ground. No mercy.
vagbutters 7y ago
Heed this advice op. Lawyer up, gather evidence, and run this bitch into the ground without remorse.
[deleted] 7y ago
This advice is gold. Never talk to the police, no matter how easily you can prove your innocence.
[deleted]
WilliamBott 7y ago
No warrant = they can't do shit. Talk to a lawyer but wait until they get a warrant and you legally have to go down to the station. Bring the lawyer.

That video should really be in the sidebar of every subreddit that deals with the law. I will never not upvote this. The police are not your friends, people. Don't be a dick to them, but don't assume they're on your side either.
Calypto- 7y ago
We've gotten to the point where we need it in ours, too.
smfc 7y ago
police aren't your friends. common misconception. there are a few "good cops" here and there, but almost all of them are just "enforcing the law". they aren't there to help you, they are there to help the government.
RedMoonAscendant 7y ago
The police are to society as HR is to the corporation.
Never interact with either in any fashion if you have any power to avoid it.
woahyoungster345654 7y ago
I'll watch this when I'm home , sounds like an interesting video to spend an evening on.
Can you give me a heads up to know what is this about exactly ?
Goomich 7y ago
It's about not talking to the police.
[deleted]
w1seguy 7y ago
Don't talk to cops and then several reasons why it's a bad idea. You can basically implicate yourself unknowingly and avoid it by taking the 5th and waiting for a lawyer.

Pristine advice.
TedTheAtheist 7y ago
You can actually charge someone for a false police report? How does that go down?
Joseph_the_Carpenter 7y ago
Police do not enjoy wasting their time on bullshit and it can make them look like idiots in the right circumstance.
TedTheAtheist 7y ago
So a person would have to initiate that, and not a cop?
Joseph_the_Carpenter 7y ago
It's called perjury, a charge brought against someone by the state for making a false statement. If it's a "material" statement (has huge consequences) in an official hearing such as a courtroom it's considered a felony.
Texas penal code:
Sec. 37.02. PERJURY. (a) A person commits an offense if, with intent to deceive and with knowledge of the statement's meaning:
(1) he makes a false statement under oath or swears to the truth of a false statement previously made and the statement is required or authorized by law to be made under oath; or
(2) he makes a false unsworn declaration under Chapter 132, Civil Practice and Remedies Code.
(b) An offense under this section is a Class A misdemeanor.
Sec. 37.03. AGGRAVATED PERJURY. (a) A person commits an offense if he commits perjury as defined in Section 37.02, and the false statement:
(1) is made during or in connection with an official proceeding; and
(2) is material.
(b) An offense under this section is a felony of the third degree.

Dear God, the suspense is killing me here. Please tell me you didn't go to the police station. If we don't here back, I'll just assume that it hit the fan.
Sketti-Os 7y ago
Didn't go. Just posted an update, all is well...ish.
SexistFlyingPig 7y ago
It seems scary right now because they accusation has been made. But don't say a fucking word to the police, other than "I request to have my lawyer present."
When the police ask you questions, they are NOT trying to determine your innocence. They are trying to find things that you say to confirm your guilt. Absolutely nothing you say can help you, but it can hurt you.
Eidolon3436 7y ago
Ouch. Well obviously shit just got real. Lawyer up ASAP. dont say anything just let the lawyer handle it. Get a restraining order to keep her off/away from your house.
ChadThundercockII 7y ago
The restraining order is a good idea. It would help in the future to sink that bitch.
ElectricFagSwatter 7y ago
Doesn't just having one on you sort of screw you in life because your employer's can see that and choose to not hire you.
dingman58 7y ago
Possibly. But it's also possible not to be a lying cunt and falsely accuse you partner of a very serious crime just to get out of a simple traffic ticket.
ChadThundercockII 7y ago
Getting one Trumps not getting one when dealing with lying, scum of the earth, vengeful women. Use the law against them or they will use it against YOU.

Sue that bitch for a assault and false police report, and basically everything you can. Push your lawyer to get you a big fat check from this. You are not a victim. Oh, and get yourself a bike with that money.
[deleted]
SmilingWatermelon 7y ago
They called to ask you in or they will arrest you? Its a bluff. A pathetic one. Do. Not. Go.
Gather your evidence, go to the bar and tell them what happened. Next time a girl throws a drink at you, make a scene. People need to see what happened.
If its just her word against yours and you have evidence to the contrary you should be okay. Dont use a public defender, get a private attorney.
StoicCrane 7y ago
Public defenders are worth horse shit. They might as well be cops themselves.
smokecheck1976 7y ago
The advice here is solid. Lawyer up. Tell the lawyer everything that happened. Have the lawyer talk to the police and get any necessary affidavits. They may think you are easy prey right now, but when a lawyer talks to them, they will back off.
If she filed any sort of report, sue her for false reports and make her pay the lawyer bill.
CptFizz 7y ago
MGTOW is a dead end. Literally. It's a defeatist movement initiated by the enemy. It plays right into the hand of the feminists and their goal of destroying the family.

smfc 7y ago
She has to fear you. "If I betray this man, I'm going to lose my life". Respect from anybody, men or women, has to have a certain amount of fear in it. otherwise, you will get fucked over because you're a "beta cuck" who is afraid to stand up for himself to anyone.
plein_old 7y ago
Lots of good advice here about avoiding voluntarily walking into interrogation rooms & further traps. Watch out for predatory white knights with no integrity. If you're going to "trust no one", consider including bureaucractic employees who have quotas to fill.
I would just add that trying to "put someone's life into the ground" as revenge is a kind of fixation that can simply continue to put you into her frame, continue to give her power over you.

Don't trust ANYONE? That's nonsense. I trust plenty of men. You're recoiling and you will learn to come out of your shell again in due time.
LordThunderbolt 7y ago
Don't trust anyone dude. Stop thinking that your "brothers" are so much better than the girls out there. Men are people, and people are flawed creatures. Trust no one.
smfc 7y ago
yea you trust plenty of men until they fuck you over for a hefty amount of cash or a better position in their career. only reason to trust other men is if you know they already FEAR you. Don't trust women, period. they are hardwired to manipulate others, it's not something socially learned.
[deleted] 7y ago
[deleted]
smfc 7y ago
that whole "brothers" thing only applies to gangs and family. "masculine brotherhood" doesn't exist these days when you have self-professed "Alphas" competing with each other for money, careers, and women instead of working with each other to fight a toxic culture/government.
juliusstreicher 7y ago
Exactly. Also, do not communicate with anybody in re: this shit. Your 'bros' who slap you on the back about it are wearing bodycams or are recording everything that you say, and will turn it over to your ex in return for the opportunity to orbit. The more savvy ones will manage a bj out of the deal.
When her friends text you about it, do not respond.
NewestHouse 7y ago
23 and you just bought a house? Sounds to me like you come from money, beware, the state will come after you that much harder because there is more profit in it for them.
Sketti-Os 7y ago
I don't come from money, I just went to school for computer science and took up a first-time buyer mortgage. It's not super hard when you're making six figures and don't have much in the expense column.

A case is never won and innocence is neger established at the rusty desk of a law officer. Show up at the police station. Tell them you invoke your rights with no admission of guilt. Showing up with a lawyer is even more effective.
BehrGris 7y ago
How ironic would it be in a "Don't Trust Anyone" post if op went to the police without a lawyer.
Please lawyer up and go after this woman
Tiway22 7y ago
Jesus that's scary. Best of luck man. Hope your lawyer can save you and give that girl what she deserves.
WilliamBott 7y ago
And shit like this is why I've been a MGTOW for some years now.
teeelo 7y ago
So you're telling me, a Cop saw a car stunting, pulled them over and somehow came to the conclusion that the guilty party was in fact the boogeyman who assaulted her and that's why she was driving like that.
RedMoonAscendant 7y ago
The saddest part of this story is it's believable. Women have gone to shit the past couple decades.

It's much safer to just pump and dump and have a plate or two. When will men ever learn?
[deleted] 7y ago
[deleted]
relevantme 7y ago
It can though. I had a plate who was really cool and eventually wanted a LTR (of course). I turned her down and that eventually led to her no longer being a plate. I occasionally think to myself "maybe I should have LTR'd her", but then I mentally bitch slap myself back to reality. The only reason I want her as an LTR is for validation and having "someone", but really the only person that can give me validation is ME and I am the only "someone" I need. Wanting an LTR is one thing. Actually having one CAN be helped if you are mentally strong enough to see past the bullshit and emotions.
