Hello brothers,

I won't bore you with the story of how TRP changed my life. Suffice to say I view this community as an amazing repository of information and motivation, a community that I value very much. Given the recent trends of PC pressure on Reddit and the proliferation of SJW's, I decided it would be prudent to create a script to backup the top content here.

This is the first post of many, with a link to a zip of the top 500 posts of all time on this subreddit. Inside you will find all the posts in Markdown format, as well as PDF. They contain the post, as well as the top 10 comment chains limited to 5 replies each.

Take a look and let me know if you have any suggestions. If there is a positive response I will create a bot to auto post backups of the top content on a weekly or monthly basis.

Is it possible to create a bot to backup comments and post of individual user?

Yes. I'm using PRAW to do the heavy lifting. I likely won't have time in the near future to do one for a specific user, but it's not too hard to do if you're familiar with python. The sample scripts might be a good start.

Note - found a script on github that pulls to a JSON, which can easily be parsed into Markdown if desired.

Someone else in the future time will say the exact same stuff. Its useful to have and good he did this, but every generation will have its alphas to learn from and emulate. Most of what is said on here is clarifying the core material on the sidebar or expanding on it. The rest are just entertaining stories.

Could the PC fucktards really take this place down though? I mean, it's been up for two years now. Most people who hate TRP don't even understand it well enough to make valid arguments against it.

Frankly, it remains to be seen. I had the time and desire to create this script, my hope is that people will find it useful. Having a local copy is always convenient for offline reading or further projects.

Nice! I was looking at the official source code for reddit and thought about doing something similar. Glad you guys are on top of it - the interactivity is the best part about this subreddit.

If you ever need an extra hand with backend or server config, happy to help.

Ah! This "functional archive" is what I was thinking of. Someone linked it to me in the IRC and I signed up early.

I know you'll be announcing it soon, but is this functional archive/reddit copy a completely different site than Peurarchy or are they linked? It seems spread out to me.

Puerarchy is our official news site if anything were to happen. We're keeping it there specifically because everybody knows about and so it's a safe place to meet if something happened to us on reddit.

That said, if you reserved your name on puerarchy.com, it is linked to our new database. They are connected.

Speaking of which, the Sidebar-link (under Failsafe): "Reserve your Reddit Name on Puerarchy.com" gives an error (just fyi - I didn't mention it earlier on, as I figured it would be fixed over time).
