I'm gonna repost this again, because mod-mail is indicating some of you have some really, really thick skulls.
I'm gonna repost this 7 month old post because our mod-mail indicates that the newbies don't get it. We aren't overriding the auto mod. I don't care if your father is the goddamn owner of Google.
I know this is probably due to the exponential growth that /r/theredpill has been experiencing as of late. And yes, what a great problem to have. But the moderator team has been receiving an overwhelming number of requests from people who:
-
claim they have been lurking TRP forever, and
- made a throwaway to start posting, only to find the ever-present Thor hammer of the Automoderator is deleting their post without prejudice.
Then, we get a mod-mail message that goes like this:
"hey guys, I've been lurking TRP since before the beginning of time, and since I'm afraid of being doxxed out, I made a TRP-only throwaway account, and for some reason every comment and post I make is being deleted. I mean, I'm way more super-special than the other new guys, so if you guys would just trust me to start posting, I'd like preferential treatment to be able to start posting immediately, kthnxbi!"
The first part of that stereotypical message is something I welcome. I absolutely encourage you to create a TRP-only Reddit account. Do not underestimate the insanity of an SRS'er or a TBP'er. They've doxxed before, and they will doxx again. Anybody who posts in other subs, commingling their other reddit activity with /r/theredpill, is running a doxx risk. Just letting you know up front. You're welcome for the Reddit Pro Tip.
That being said, no, we will not, and cannot, make individual exceptions to the AutoModerator that prohibits new users from posting. The AutoMod is in place to prevent trolling/brigading, and we have no way of verifying your claims. Every con man out there tells his marks "just trust me, I'm good, honest". We have no way to verify you, we have no way to validate your claims.
So in summary, stop asking us to override the AutoModerator. It's not gonna happen. It's there for a purpose, and we are not in the business of making exceptions. If you are truly a "long time lurker", then make that TRP throwaway account from the time you start reading the sidebar and decide you would like to participate. That advice is courtesy of one of our most esteemed mods, /u/OldMuckyTerraHawk.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming of lifting, improving yourselves, and slaying strange pussy.

The automod rules over non stickied posts with an iron hammer. He is our King in The Red Pill!
[deleted] 8y ago
To put it in a Game of Thrones analogy, the Mods are the Kings of the 7 Kingdoms, but the AutoMod is the Lord of Light that overshadows us all. All hail the AutoMod.

Unfamiliar with how doxxing is done, how does making a new account avoid it?
[deleted]
[deleted] 8y ago
What would happen if an endorsed contributor needed to make a new account?
[deleted] 8y ago
We all take a risk posting here, newbies need to sack up and realize if you want to be a part of the community, you need to pay your dues and wait it out unless you're willing to use your main account to post.
Worried about being doxxed? Great so am I, so are most of us. Cry me a river, we have rules set by the mods to ensure that at least a bare minimum standard is adhered to and that dumb-asses who haven't even read the sidebar material yet don't time-rape us with their uninformed comments.

One of my threads got posted on the blue pill. How's that for shit pants inducing? I'd say the youngins here have a lot to learn if they're that concerned about their online persona. Stop over posting yourself and your personal info in general. The Internet is not a substitute for the real world, folks.

I suggest finding a way to stop these attention seeking trolls who make a fake account on the relationships subreddit to say "Hey look at how stupid women are."
There is hundreds of sources we could be using as reports on the ridiculous things women do, but on a daily basis there's a front page post mentioning a woman that isn't even real.
These losers don't even put a lot of effort into pretending it's not them, they make their account on the same day as the "woman's"
Not sure why people sink this low when there's plenty of legit accounts of women fucking a guy over.
Might sound like I'm making a big deal out of this, but it pisses me off to see the flagship post of every day being something that is fake
Fuck each and every one of you for ruining this sub with fairy tales.
For example yamato403 posted yesterday and got nearly 1,000 upvotes when his account was made within the same HOUR of the woman he archived. Ban these people.
I have a list of bullshitters on this subreddit, and they would've never existed if we were banned from referencing the relationships subreddit.

Or just use one account, and don't give a fuck
MightyYetGentle 8y ago
Seriously. I don't like the idea of hiding at all. And since SJWs can't affect me emotionally or financially, it's just people throwing a hissy fit on the internet. The only thing I could ever see being a real risk is if one of them shows up at my residence with the intent to harm. Even then, good luck with that one lol. I'm in Texas.

Upvoted. Do NOT change this policy at all it's for the best of this sub and all of us who have been here for years.

You need a certain amount of comment karma to not get flagged by automod
ColdEiric 8y ago
Sarcasm tag implies that we're unable to spot sarcasm. Men learn how to spot sarcasm, just like men don't use support-wheels on the bicycle.
[deleted] 8y ago
I downvote sarcasm tags on principle. You should be able to tell sarcasm based on context or convey sarcasm through other means.

AutoMod is actually saving you face, my first thoughts when finding TRP were cringeworthy.
I do understand the pain that newbies encounter, but we are not a hugbox. We are here to show you universal tasks and ideas that will improve your life if you want to grow.
let_terror_reign 8y ago
Yeah, if not for automod We'd have people telling us what frame is before they heard of rollo

Go ahead and down vote to feel good, but what I say goes. Read and heed. We get these requests every day. No, we aren't gonna grant them.

I have to say I cracked up at "slaying strange pussy."

and you fucking shouldn't... what is a noobie gunna post? or " look at this blue pill fag?" really?
we don't need more posts on " don't be this" we need more post on " do this"
it's super easy to say DON'T do something than it is to say Do something.

What's necessary to be able to post?
redpillschool Admin 8y ago
The actual requirements are not published, but suffice it to say, if you read the sidebar before commenting, you will be fine. If you engage in conversation for a few weeks before posting a new thread, you'll be fine.
ColdEiric 8y ago
If we need to tell you that, you haven't understood the sidebar yet.
Try to be patient, and read the texts on the sidebar first. We're vicious towards each other here, but that's how men are loving towards each other. It's like in Goodfellas; "I got to toughen this kid up." And once you post, we're expecting you to be tough enough to handle anything anyone here has to say about you and your comments.
So, if you're still doubting when and if you're 'qualified' to post, I'd suggest you to just read and read and read. And to think and feel about how what we and the sidebar might say about these problems here. Think about your own problems, and look for answers without posting, because we might have already talked about it.
It's like being a kid near the adult's table. There's no harm in being close and listen to what the adults have to say. Just don't expect to get the kid-gloves when you do choose to open your mouth.
If you do want to ask 'stupid' questions today, go to AskTRP.
Nazrath2112 8y ago
Don't be a beta bitch, that's really the only rule. How do you do that? Somethings you need to figure out for your own.
Luckyluke23 8y ago
THE ONLY way to be able to post here is actually contribute in the comment section and have people upvote you. once you make like 500 then you would be good because.
A) enough time would have passed.
b) you would have been here long enough to know not to be a dick head noob and post dumb shit that doesn't help.
RedSovereign 8y ago
If you have any concerns at all about being associated with TRP, create an alt right now. Don't wait until you really want to post something to do so.
[deleted] 8y ago
I like to think the true purpose of the automod is to prevent the noobs from posting. But you'd have to increase the time limit to much much more than a couple of days. I mean, if they were'nt noobs, they'd know about creating a redpill-specific account, and they'd know they have to wait a couple days...
Seriously the signal-to-noise ratio on this sub is getting worse and worse as it grows: too much anger, too much hate. It's good for those who want to vent and get an echo-chamber to their rants, but it helps no-one else. I'd increase the automod time-limit to three fucking months.
Since that won't happen, anyone knows a tip to automatically hide every comment on this sub except those by Endorsed Contributors?
Luckyluke23 8y ago
this and it's not even close. maybe we should dorp it to something like 2 weeks maybe, no one is going to wait around for 3 months.
[deleted] 8y ago
Preventing noobs from posting, believe it or not, was actually a byproduct of the AutoMod. In our early days, the primary concern was brigading and trolling. Now that we have eclipsed 135,000 subs, brigading has less of an effect even though it certainly still happens.
redpillschool Admin 8y ago
Like RPWT says, it was originally to deal with trolls. The problem was that bans would be immediately evaded by people making new accounts. Now, when we ban, people immediately try to come back to troll us only to have their comments silently removed.
But I designed the automod rules to keep you from participating for about as long as it should take to read the sidebar the first time. So it does help.
Further, you can't actually post new threads right away, even after you're "voiced." You still have to participate in conversation and get positive karma before your new posts aren't auto deleted.
First of all, the charge of worsening quality has been levied against this sub since we had 100 subscribers. It's a completely nebulous charge with no real parameters, and it's impossible to quantify. I am going to argue that in fact, the average quality of conversation in each thread is quite high, and I'm happy to see the quality remain more or less constant.
Now regarding your comment on anger and hate, I disagree with you entirely. We don't just allow anger, we embrace it. Anger is an appropriate response when faced with injustice and cultural lies. Anger is a normal reaction, and the rest of our society is so hellbent on telling men that anger is bad and they shouldn't have an outlet for their emotions, that eventually guys just get so fed up their kill themselves (or worse).
We are the one of the few places where guys can be guys and they can be real with each other. Fuck yeah there's anger. God damned right there's anger. I will ban 130,000 subscribers who want to stifle male emotions before I ban anger.

If those subs with the autoban bot ban me for submitting here, then fucking good, I could do with taking out the trash on my account. If they all want to shoot themselves in the foot and lose lots of subs then they can be my guest.

Just do the only two things you can do when you make a new account. Read posts, use your voting power and be patient. You'll be able to comment soon enough.

[deleted] 8y ago
It is classified. If we gave away that information, the whole point of the AutoMod is defeated, now, isn't it?
let_terror_reign 8y ago
You'd get a bunch of people wetting their diapers over it, for the love of god keep that secret

I see where you are coming from in this, but if we restrict posting that heavily it may as well be a blog, and those already exist.
It also implies that someone "less venerated" can't make a substantive post which us assuredly not true. That step is the beginning of the end in a lot of organizations.
