Your first step toward being "your best you" is managing your body.
If you are fat, you have to drop that weight. Period. Done.
Fat people make excuses for their fat fucking asses, which makes it easier to invent excuses for their lazy lard-assed slacking in other areas of their lives.
To be fat for an extended period of time is to fail at life.
Drop that fucking weight, you fat fucking lard ass.
No bread, no sugar, no potatoes. Lots of meat and green veg cooked in real butter.
Drop the weight. I mean it.
You know your "friends" who make excuses for your disgraceful man-tits? Notice they have man-tits as well? What is this, a man-boobs contest?
Those people aren't friends. They are the other pigs lined up at the Chinese buffet beside you, pricking their fingers to see if they need any insulin to combat the breaded potato loser-snacks that they piled their plates with.
Are you really trying to win a man-boobs contest?
Coming from a position of pure love, I submit this to you:
Drop the fucking weight. Just do it. You have nothing to lose except your man-tits, and you have everything to gain.
O.k. haters, let's hear you make some excuses so you can help your fat assed brothers stay nice and floppy. Let the whinging begin!

Bolt_Ironstag 7y ago
Yep, used to be obese. Now I'm fat, but not for much longer. My biggest regret is how much of my life I missed out on.
SeekingTheWay 7y ago
Upvoting. Everybody needs to read this. I have lost 4 years of my life being fat. I am disgusted by the person I was.

Good hustle, brother.
Keep it up!
[deleted] 7y ago
Guys, you can eat potatoes. They're pretty good for you actually, and great on a budget. Everything is spot on.
bigcitytruth 7y ago
They're good but a bit carby and have little fiber. Beans are a better side, and have a ton more nutrients.
[deleted] 7y ago
And make you fart a shit load. I wouldn't say they're a better side for everybody. They definitely don't provide enough carbs for the serious athlete.
bigcitytruth 7y ago
Fiber reduces arterial plaque buildup. It also regulates absorption of cholesterol. Pure gains are moot when you're looking at a stroke or heart attack at age 50 due to decades of low fiber intake. Look up info on fiber and heart disease, it's quite sobering.
The toots tend to lessen once your gut flora adjusts to the extra fiber. But yes, in that first month, you're gonna clear some rooms. But consider you're already used to the aftermath of whey protein, which could curl paint.
[deleted] 7y ago
Cruciferous veggies bro, all day. Fiber isn't hard to get, it's in most everything else you should be eating outside of flesh. Also check out Rhonda Patrick on the jre podcast. She's smart as fuck and explains the truth about cholesterol in an easy to understand way.
bigcitytruth 7y ago
Yep cruciferous are great. But broccoli and cabbage definitely still add to the wind symphony though.

If you aren't having "protein farts", you aren't doing it right.

I hate the stereotype of the smart well read fat guy. Being fat is the dumbest thing you can do. Cardiovascular health is directly connected to brain health. You're brain is always sucking in constant amounts of blood and is the biggest consumer of calories in your body (pound for pound). Having good cardiovascular health will improve brain function. Exercise has also been show to the formation of neurons in the hippocampus leading to the idea that exercise can improve memory.
You have over 100 million neurons in your gut. The enteric nervous system is massive. Over 50% of dopamine and serotonin is stored there. The connections you're enteric system has to your brain is massive. Treat it well and eat right. If you love yourself then take care of yourself. No one else can do it for you.
Docbear64 7y ago
Another great point , I always thought I was a smart motherfucker but me on a ketogenic diet is a whole other level . I felt like I took the limitless drug at first there was just so much clarity and it was a lot easier for me to make decisions and weigh decisions against each other . A better heart definitely makes for a better brain .

You reduce your carbohydrates inta to almost 0, that forces the liver to use the ketogenic bodies to distribute energy to the body. There are 3 ways to distribute energy, fatty acids, glucose, and keto bodies. Keto bodies are made off fatty acids... Why do we make keto bodies? Cause fatty acids cannot pass through the hemato-encefalic barrier, so you cannot "feed" the brain. Sugar levels are kept at a minimum metabolizing proteins.
Unless you have diabetes type 1, don't worry for keto-acidosis as it has negative feedback loop with insulin.
If you have any question feel free to ask I'm not a doctor, but a med student so it may be helpful.

Ketogenic diets are lower in protein to try to force the body to burn fat, it was used earlier to help epileptic children.
Paleo is the way to go.
[deleted] 7y ago
Sorry but no - Ketogenic diets are lower in CARBOHYDRATES (less than ~50g/day to start, then less than 20g/day). You need to eat more protein to compensate and not lose muscle mass.
[deleted] 7y ago
They are also very low in carbs. Like I said it's for people who can't burn carbs well so they obviously don't eat carbs also... They eat less protein because that helps burn more fat compared to carbs
If you are looking for gains ketogenic is not the way to go.
[deleted] 7y ago
With all do respect - no, that's not true. Ketogenic diets recommend 1-1.5grams of protein/lb of body weight - that's a LOT of protein. More than people eat when not dieting.
You're right that it may not be the best diet for people looking to bulk, but the science behind keto is that when you stop eating carbs, it forces your body to burn fat for fuel. It has nothing to do with protein and actually you need to increase it or it will burn muscle as fuel as well.
[deleted] 7y ago
Ah I see. The scope of my knowledge comes for pediatric care. For young kids the protein amount among other things is carefully controlled to help reduce epilepsy. The kids aren't lifting tho bro

What's wrong with potatoes? I thought they are healthy
bigcitytruth 7y ago
Cut sugar, add fiber. Download a fitness app to audit your meals and to take charge. Google your daily calories for your goal weight, and the macro ratio that suits you. Learn to cook (hell, even the microwave is okay, as long as you hit your macros). If you can't even do this, then you are hopeless. PS: it's not your thyroid or your parents that made you fat. It's the french fries and beer.

My mom spends hours on end after work just watching TV. She's gotten fatter and bulkier over the years but today she came on a forty minute walk with me. I'm very concerned about her weight and I want to encourage her to eat healthier or do some exercise but she is legitimately addicted, and I don't know how to get through to her.
Any advice on how to get her to lose the weight? I don't want to lose my mom to an early death. :(
vagbutters 7y ago
I can empathize with your position since I'm in the exact same spot as you. Fortunately I've gotten my mom to lose 20 pounds in the past 4 months-- I did this by getting her on a diet plan and encouraging her to stick to it on weekdays, allowing for 2 weekend days where she's allowed to "cheat" and eat at maintenance. You have to sit down and teach her to log her calories; exercise is good, but it's a bonus. Remember that diet is king when it comes to weight loss.
church_on_white 7y ago
My mom was put on ADHD meds and it's changed her life in terms of weight trouble.

[deleted] 7y ago
No real advice but I know how you feel. My mom almost drank herself to death. After years of me pretty much begging her to stop, it took her sister actually drinking herself into an early grave for my mom to give it up. Sometimes it takes a big shock for someone to realize what they are doing to themselves. Just being available to go for a walk with her and reminding her how much fun it is to get outside may be all it takes. Change takes time.

As I am edging on destitution, I am finding I get 2k calories of food a day pretty cheap... 2lb things of almonds/mixed nuts (you want more almonds than nuts but they're more expensive than peanut filler). 18x locally laid eggs. 2-for-1 cheese blocks. Whole chickens. That's keto right there, because I am poor but still lifting. I lost 50lbs on Keto years ago, habits stayed. Check out -r-ketotreats even if you don't follow the diet.

I'm not a fan of TRP (women, even feminists, aren't the enemy), but this post is first rate. Alpha male fights the fat.
GC0W30 7y ago
We don't think they're the enemy, aside from the anger phase guys who don't really get it.
We view women's nature as equivalent to weather.
Their nature is there, it is what it is, and it is just something we can work choose to engage with productively by having appropriate responses.
Why get mad at something that's part of nature?
I don't hate sharks, but I know that being in some places at some times doing some things is a good way to get shark bites.
I don't hate weather, but I still wear heavy clothes when the temperature is low and I'll be outside for an extended period.
Same with women. They're not the enemy, you just have do things that will result in positive outcomes with them... or not bother if they're not a fit for your life.
You reference feminists as not being the enemy. They're not quite the enemy, except politically. Aside from politics, the wise path is not to engage because they bring nothing positive to the table justifying the high effort involved in romance with them most of the time. They're needlessly hard to interact with positively.
I still wish them well, I still hope they enjoy their days, I'm just not getting close because me interacting with them isn't going to make anyone happy.

Its not that simple, a calorie is not a calorie. That's a very old system of looking at things and it has been debunked. Your body processes a calorie of protein much differently than it does a calorie of sugar.
squidracer 7y ago
A medium potato has roughly only 110 calories.
I think the problem is that most people like to throw them in the deep fryer, and then dip them in more carbs

I put a little butter on it. No biggie.. Calories in calories out.. I've maintained decent six packs eating potatoes.
Once at a low body fat you almost need carbs.. And potatoes are a good source because of potassium
vagbutters 7y ago
The skin of potatoes has some good vitamins/minerals, but it's basically all carbs. Decent as a bulk food, but for diets you'd be wiser to go with protein-fat heavy food items as opposed to a whole potato (assuming you're on a very small calorie budget).
[deleted]
SeemedGood 7y ago
Depends on the person. I love carbs, but they're really bad for me in all forms except fruits and nuts/seeds.
As much as I enjoy pasta with red meat sauce, even small portions just wrecks my stomach, digestion, and energy level. Same with bread, potatoes, beer, etc.
I do best on meat, good fats, and low-carb veg.
recon_johnny 7y ago
No, you don't need 60% carbs. I also work with JDRF.
Keto has been a lifesaver for many people. The insulin spikes that come from high levels of carbs (and types of carbs) is prevented with this kind of diet. Burn fat, not carbs.
Mckallidon 7y ago
I cannot eat potatoes because I'm sensitive to nightshade plants. I eat a lot of beets and turnips. If people ate beets like potatoes there wouldn't be nearly as much obesity. Once you're already fat you're way more sensitive to the carb addiction and many people cannot keep their spud portions in check. Beets are an incredible recovery food.
PM_me_your_fistbump 7y ago
Can you make baked beets with butter, cheese, and green onions? Or mashed beets with gravy? Serious question - if it works I'll try it.
Dr_Villain 7y ago
Beets with ground beef, broccoli, cream, and blue cheese baked in the oven is absolutely delicious. Replace cream with milk and eggs for a low energy alternative.
Mckallidon 7y ago
Gravy yes. At least for me. I like turkey gravy and parsley on them. I eat a lot of beets. Goat cheese, dill, lemon all pair well with beets. It depends on your palette. I eat plain lettuce or spinach and eat plain roasted beets.
Borscht is the best way to bring them into your diet regularly IMO. You can make a lot to eat all week. A good beef broth, some caramelized onions and carrots and cabbage with dill, garlic and lemon juice garnished with fresh parsley. I also sometimes use a turkey neck broth I make too. I skip the spuds or beans. Skip the tomato like many online recipes IMO. Less is more with Borscht IMO. If you roast the beets and carrots low and slow, and make this soup and purée it, it is heaven, but very time consuming.
Also. Veggie chips. Slice them thin and cook at 200 degrees until crisp. Beet chips are pretty good this way. Just toss in Olive oil and some salt and pepper before you cook them. Takes a few hours.
Docbear64 7y ago
Don't know about beets but mashed cauliflower when prepared correctly can taste almost as good as mashed potatoes ( i bet especially with gravy) . The only noticeable difference in it is the texture. even the creamiest mashed cauliflower i've had was slightly more grainy than the texture you become used to for mashed potatoes.
Mckallidon 7y ago
Roasted cauliflower tastes better IMO. Low and slow with lots of browning. Gets real sweet.
squidracer 7y ago
Best cut I ever did was eating potatoes.. As long as you don't throw them in the deep fryer they are pretty decent.. Just as good as oatmeal as far as I'm concerned
vagbutters 7y ago
Did you measure your muscle mass along the way? I'm interested to hear how much you lost along the way (assuming you weren't getting adequate protein elsewhere).
squidracer 7y ago
It was a steak and potato diet so I didn't lose much muscle at all
vagbutters 7y ago
That sounds pretty good, but how much steak were you eating per day? Couldn't have been cheap I imagine.
squidracer 7y ago
About a pound.. I can afford it
[deleted]
Mckallidon 7y ago
Oatmeal is way better than potatoes. Much slower release and it's too hard to overeat oatmeal. I could eat lbs of mashed potatoes and gravy.
walnut_of_doom 7y ago
Oatmeal tastes like sadness but holy shit is it filling. 1 cup dry is 300 calories but is more satiating than anything short of an equivalent amount of calories in leafy greens.
Mckallidon 7y ago
Lol tastes like sadness. I buy this fancier heartier stuff that is ok. Quaker or quick oats suck. Don't even bother. They've been stripped of most nutrition and flavor.
But yeah they're a powerhouse. I eat oats in the morning as well as yogurt. And I eat yogurt three times a day with oat bran. I've noticed a major improvement in my body since I started eating oats and gave up bread.
I make mine with goat milk, a very small bit of maple syrup and cinnamon, lots of chopped dates and some chia seeds. I work and shit like a horse! It's a damn meal. And the dates really make up for the sadness lol.
I also run mine through a blender real quick before I cook it so it's more digestible and I get zero bloat.
I load my yogurt with oat bran. Incredible shit. That's where most of the nutrition is. Toasted oat bran is also a great substitute for breadcrumbs in many recipes. More flavor and better nutrition.
Oats are a staple for me. You can toast them to get a lot more flavor from them, but I gave up eventually bc life is short. I'm a chef so I am so over food at this point. I have cooked and eaten amazing shit for so long that I can eat plain lettuce or a bowl of plain spinach as respite lol. I only see food as money or fuel at this point in my life. Bring the sadness lol.
walnut_of_doom 7y ago
I'll give it a whirl, thanks.
PM_me_your_fistbump 7y ago
Pour your dry oatmeal into a Tupperware, add milk instead of water. Put a little honey on the top, and/or yogurt/peanut butter/fresh fruit. Let it sit overnight in the fridge. Eat in the morning.
It's called overnight oats, and the process (don't forget toppings!) neutralizes the sadness.
walnut_of_doom 7y ago
I'll have to give that a try, thanks.
squidracer 7y ago
Well who told you to add gravy?? You Canadian or something?
Mckallidon 7y ago
'Murican! You're thinking Poutine breh. Canadians don't mash their potatoes. You can't dip them in mayo that way lol.
My grandfather was Canadian. He didn't eat potatoes until he moved to the states. Mostly venison, carrots and turnips. But he lived in East Bumfuck in a cabin without power or running water.
squidracer 7y ago
I went to Windsor Canada once.. Those fuckers poured gravy on everything..
First fast food place we went to, "would you like gravy on your French fries sir?"
"Ummm, seriously?"
Mckallidon 7y ago
Lol. It's to make up for the fact that their bacon is actually ham lol. Gravy fries are big here in Western NY, but Buffalo is right next to Canada and my city is still relatively close. A lot of Toronto influence here that people don't even realize. Poutine is big around my parts, along with hockey and Canadian beers. I never imagined gravy on mashed wasn't normal elsewhere. It's a very common thing anywhere I have been in the US. Cheeseburgers smothered with gravy used to be a thing here when I was younger lol. But that is nothing. We smother everything with meat where I live.
If you think that is bad, Rochester NY's culinary gift to the world is "The Garbage Plate". It's a styrofoam box filled with home fries, Mac salad, 2 burgers or hotdogs, and topped with a heaping scoop of "hot sauce", which is Texas chili. Yes, our hot sauce is scoops of cheap greasy ground beef and spices. Just ground beef, onions garlic, and spices lol. It is always made with the cheapest, shittiest, fattiest ground beef. People put that on everything here too. Hotdogs, burgers, fries with cheese and bacon. Anyways, It's like 3lbs of greasy fatty food in a box smothered in more grease. Drunk people love them. They swear it prevents a hangover. I swear you get too sick to notice.
Many people who eat them get severe abdominal pain and the shits like they're going to die, and are diabeetus as fuck. If you put one in the fridge and let it harden, you can plop it out of the box solid because the grease cements all the little pieces together when it is cold. Eating it is a right of passage for locals and transplants. Many eat it regularly. And yes, people get them with three beef patties and bacon. Or two beef patties and 2 hotdogs lol. With extra hot sauce. After drinking 2000 Cals of cheap shitty Genesee beer. Last I heard most standard "plates" are like 1500 Cals.
Anyone who isn't getting enough Cals for their muscle growth should just move to Rochester. It's nothing but colleges, bars, restaurants and gyms lol. All people do here is drink, eat and fuck. A "Hots" place in every neighborhood, in every town, on every street. 1500 Cals in a box for $8.
Elohirnok 7y ago
Live in Rochester, can confirm.

I had a busy day at work last week and didn't get a chance to eat lunch. I probably went about 12 hours without eating. I was definitely hungry, but it wasn't the end of the world.
It got me thinking about how insane it is that people think they need to have a full stomach 24/7. I'm pulling this number out of my ass, but I'd say that 90% of the people who ever lived never had their stomach full for more than a few days at a time - and if they did eat their fill, it was because they had spent hours busting their ass hunting or foraging or harvesting.
Mckallidon 7y ago
Most Americans don't know what hunger really is. I laugh at the bros talking about it when they're cutting. Go buy a homeless man lunch, you'll see fucking hungry.

this dude I know who is totally a mayo monster I gave him a plan to cut calories by giving him a strict diet that I had used to cut. It involves a quest bar for breakfast, a 6 inch subway sub for lunch made of turkey or chicken, and holy fuck before I even got to dinner he is arguing that nobody can eat just a 6 inch subway sandwich. He said "if I don't get the 12 im going to go hungry". I kept calling him an idiot asshole. Then he started fighting on no chicken or turkey.
I realized that you can't save fats.
TheOtherWalternate 7y ago
I used t be the same way. Full 12 inch sub and my brain was telling me I need more. Now 115lbs down and halfway through a 6 inch sub and I'm almost full. What gave me the push was doing a 16/8 intermittent fasting regimen. That helped me get used to be hungry and realizing it is not a bad thing.
PM_me_your_fistbump 7y ago
Then what? So you're going to be hungry. Be hungry.
[deleted] 7y ago
Hunger is an alert. Not a command
[deleted]
cuntweiner 7y ago
Seems obvious right? Being hungry is literally how you lose weight. There's no trick that makes you feel full while eating a deficit. You just get used to hunger.
[deleted] 7y ago
This. The number one block to me cutting was this mental block of not wanting to be hungry. Then I started intermittent fasting plus low carb and I've dropped 40 lbs in 3 months.
No matter how you skew your diet towards filling foods (protein, fiber, complex carbs) it only helps so much. At some point you are going to feel hungry and you're going to have to deny yourself.
Dr_Villain 7y ago
You don't have to be hungry though. A high fiber and high protein diet will keep most people feeling satisfied while eating under their TDEE.
IDefyAxioms 7y ago
See, this is the part that I have issue with. If you're actively hungry then you're missing some macronutrient because your diet isn't balanced the way it needs to be.
You can't study, work, etc. when you're missing a key nutrient and your body isn't getting what it needs to function optimally.
[deleted] 7y ago
That only helps so much. At some point You will hit a wall in progress if you won't ever let yourself ignore hunger and push through.
Our bodies are evolved to not let go of fat without a fight.
Dr_Villain 7y ago
Yeah it could be, but it can also be poor diet planning. Short chain carbohydrates are metabolized faster than long chain ones or other macronutrients, so naturally you'll get hungry sooner eating potatoes than eating quinoa. Not saying potatoes are bad, just that they are metabolized faster. Also there's more fiber in quinoa which helps you feel full for longer.
jimmiepop 7y ago
12 fuckn hours??
Don't be a bitch. McCrystal ate once a day while running JSOC and AFG. Many of the gym bros now intermittent fast 18/6.
[deleted] 7y ago
well i mean fasting while sleeping is pretty fuckin ez
GroundhogLiberator 7y ago
I have enough discipline that I can eat at a deficit/maintenance without having to structure my diet around one sickeningly large meal daily.
I've gone almost 30 years eating 3 meals per day. There's no reason to change that if I'm eating moderate portions of healthy food.
Mckallidon 7y ago
I do 3 meals/day. Small breakfast, bigger lunch, small dinner. Same times everyday. Very regular rotation of the same boring foods. Does wonders. My diet is all very digestible food and foods that don't bog you down so I am actually relatively hungry by the time each meal rolls around. If I want to cut Cals I just remove 1 item from each meal, if I want more Cals I add 1 item to each meal. It's not exact but it works. That warrior diet shit never worked for me. Everything was always out of balance.
Bigcasanova 7y ago
I'd take this even a step further. This applies not only to the lazy fucks with man boobs ( disgusting ), but guys like me . I have nice big shapely pecs and big arms ... and a gut to go with it . Nope. Without insulin to break it down, the consumed fat comes in pieces too big to pass the cell membrane and be stored. And guess what introduces insulin into your blood? Carbs.
If you eat only fat and nothing else, you will shit vaseline, but not gain a single pound.
Mukato 7y ago
OP is right. I am down 30 pound of fat and up 10 pounds of muscle since starting my MAP 6 weeks ago (measured with multiple scales, and regular BF% monitoring with variables controlled for)

Eat less. Don't listen to them when they tell you not to finish your food. I am born to immigrants, well educated, but eating habits are almost totalitarian. When I was younger "it's time for dinner" meant "get the fuck over here and eat with the family or we'll feed you to the pigs." Turns into eating when not hungry. I'm in my late 20's now and I control when and how much I eat. Also sugar is basically crack. You WILL eat it, but do everything you can to avoid it and it will work wonders for you. Processed and low fat food is also infamous for sugar content. Try to avoid it
autoNFA 7y ago
Eat less of what they give you. Push them for vegetables and healthy options in carbs and protein if they don't buy them.
[deleted] 7y ago
being fat is contagious. figure out your macros for a cut, and start counting religiously. if you're sitting at the table and they pressure you to eat more, say no. if they still pressure you, say you have to go to the bathroom and play on your phone while shitting.
[deleted]
stawek 7y ago
Everytime you get your dinner leave half the carbs on the plate. Eat all the protein/veggies.
If there isn't enough protein on your plate regularly, get your allowance and buy a tub of protein shake - if your meal has less than 20g protein (roughly 100g of lean meat) have a scoop to cover the deficit.
Hit the gym, hard. Focus on compound lifts full body workouts 3 times a week, cardio on the remaining days. I advise to join any martial arts gym as the way to do cardio - it can be boxing, bjj, kickboxing, anything really. It will work wonders for your body and confidence levels.
flatox 7y ago
On a sidenote though, fat is better than skinny with no muscle. Both are bad though.
A skinny guy is the male equivalent to a fat woman.
AnjaJutta 7y ago
There is no need for "haters" or "excuses". Sugar is an addictive substance, measured to be 8 times stronger than cocaine. A fat person is an addict as much as a smoker or an alcoholic. Battling addiction is difficult but not something that can't be done. What personally helped me shed tons of pounds and brought me to a good place in my life was taking up dancing and cycling.
suske127 7y ago
While I agree with this post there are some flaws in the logic
The point is that fat people are "losing at life" ~ Well, life is not inherently a competition. We all have our own goals we'd like to accomplish. Most guys want to bang lots of chicks and so it's fair to assume that if you're fat, you're not banging lots of chicks, and hence you're failing your life goal.
But not all people live to bang chicks. And not all fat people are thirsty. Some fat people do have lots of game to make up for being ugly af, and still get laid
With that said, nobody can argue that being fat is simply bad for you. I think everybody can agree that our time here is short and we should all be doing what we can to get more. You can never get your time back, but you could lose weight and get more time.
[deleted] 7y ago
@suske127
You are a piece of shit.
Everything you said is a potential excuse to keep the fatties fat.
Post elsewhere, please.
suske127 7y ago
Well no shit
Did you read the whole thing?
To summarize
"Not everybody lives for women so not everybody needs to be lean
With that said we should all be healthy for ourselves, as that expands your already limited lifespan so you should be lean, and not hamster/get fat"
If anything brother, you can post elsewhere if you can't comprehend the messages that are being relayed here. We're all brothers. No need to assume the worst intent in my post and attempt to alienate another brother.

Bulk up and shave daily. Optionally, grow a goatee.
[deleted] 7y ago
Seconded.
Cut your hair with the clippers and #1 attachment once per week. Shave your face clean on that same day.
Up your creatine to 20 grams per day (even non-lift days) and spend at least 5 days per week at the gym. SL 5x5 or SS will get you off to a good start.

My dad has always been overweight, even as a kid. I've always been a healthy weight for whatever reason. He's only gotten bigger as he's aged and I'm really worried about his health. He's almost 60 and has probably gained 50 more lbs over the past 10 or 15 years so I would say he's obese now.
He is convinced that he's always been fat and that's just the way it is. He thinks he's not capable of losing weight. He was also bullied as a kid about it so it's a sensitive subject.
He doesn't eat breakfast or lunch, ever. He comes home from work and eats 2-3 giantic plates (I'm talking mountains) full of the food my mom makes, a dessert, and snacks on stuff usually while watching tv til he goes to bed. He doesn't exercise minus manual labor at work.
Is this a lost cause? I would like to convince him to lose weight for his own good but I don't know how to go about it. His doctor is also overweight so I'm afraid he won't push him to lose weight. Any advice would be welcome.

Well, as a morbidly obese man (300 lbs) I have to say that I agree with most of what you're saying. It is a real problem, and it has certainly had a devastating effect on my (non-esistant) sex life.
Docbear64 7y ago
I weighed more than you at one point , all you need is to give yourself a goal even a short term goal . stick to it , log your results and see if you don't find a moderate success. before losing 60 I told myself I would just be happy to lose 10 because up until that point in my life the scale had ALWAYS been going up ... and up ... and up. after losing 10 and making more adjustments slowly I got to 12 , then 15 , and now 60 and I've made plenty of mistakes/ had cheat days / but when I was committed I was fucking unshakable. If I can do it I believe that truly anyone can .

Following my most recent breakup 6 months ago I began hitting the gym. Lost 40 lbs of fat and gained about 12 in muscle. The weight loss is the result of strict diet planning and hitting the stationary bike for 50-150 calories per session for at least 4 days a week.
My diet consists of a high protein breakfast of sausages eggs and mushrooms, and my dinner is usually fish and potato salad/rice. In between or around these meals is when I try to get the nutrients i'm missing so i'll snack on carrots, broccoli, bananas, etc.

Low body fat is key for facial aesthetics. I see many people thinking that lifting will only get a super muscled body.
First, for the average man is very hard to get super muscled unless you get steroids.
Second, lifting is the best exercise to promote fat loss and have many heatlh benefits.
Third, if you are lean, ideally 10-12% body fat you're face will be more attractive. There are guys thinking they are ugly when the truth is their face are covered in useless fat!

Boo hoo, cry me a river. The exact same thing goes for ectomorphic men, except flipped on its head. While you have to suck it up, exercise more and eat less, we have to suck it up, exercise less and eat more. You can lose 20 pounds in a month, if you put your mind to the task. My greatest victory yet is putting on 4 pounds of muscle in 6 months. Sure, the gains come quicker, but it's much more of an uphill battle.

" how man time can a man turn his head and present that he just doesn't see"
Chippendork 7y ago
I'm not sure about this. Women are fragile beings that will do anything to protect their ego, and being with a guy that is leaner than them makes them feel like shit. So if you're seriously ripped, there are a lot less girls to choose from, and at that level of fitness, the ratio gets pretty bad. Fit girls are also notoriously insecure, and quite frankly, all girls get off on the idea of getting fucked by a dude that is much bigger than them. I honestly think that the best you can be for picking up girls is about 15% bodyfat, the point at which the fat still makes your arms look big, and your chest doesn't sag, but you don't really have any definition in your abs. Lose more than that and you start looking small. See that little ripped dude at 7% bodyfat... that same dude looks fucking huge at 15%. Extreme example: http://i.imgur.com/0Lyef0n.jpg
HeOpensADress 7y ago
Untrue, there's always exclusions to the rule, fit girl I know only goes for lard asses. Chances are it's easier to get fit and be found attractive by above 8s, than find a hot girl who'd like you for being a fatty. You know aside for the millions of other reasons that getting fit is good for you.
valdirtheblue 7y ago
I've met women who insist that: 'too much muscle is off putting' 'muscle isn't everything' 'I prefer my man to have fat on him' 'I like a cute belly!'
I sit there with a smug grin because I know they are talking utter shit. Ripped and sweet creates more tingles than a dad body.
[deleted] 7y ago
What they didnt mention is he has to be very handsome
vengefully_yours 7y ago
Exactly right, girls will rarely go with the fat looking guy over the man who is ripped, even if the ripped one has considerably less muscle mass, which is quite rare. Most fat fucks are simply that, fat fucks. Game can only help so much.
I don't make excuses, I know my belly is too big and I'm dealing with it.
vagbutters 7y ago
Good on you for having the balls to admit your problem and do something about it. This one factor distinguishes you from the millions of overweight/obese beta males who are stuck in their jewish fairytale land where women "love them for who they are."
vengefully_yours 7y ago
I make no effort to hide it, due to my muscle mass I look like a brick or silverback gorilla. I've been low bf and I look much better, though still huge. I know from experience that no belly draws more female attention. There is no delusion about it, though I am surprised that I garner more female attention than I think i should. Hot young sluts still like me despite being old enough to be their father and having a belly.
Eastuss 7y ago
There's still some reality with the fat dude getting the girls... Fat and body muscles are the only physical traits you can change, if you're small or have a womanly face, you have to rely on other things to raise your SMV, just like the fat dude getting the girls?
But I believe that fat dude getting all the girls is of the "bear" kind, IE tall, fat and muscular, the big tall guy that nobody wants to mess with. We're not designed to be lean, in nature fat is a sign of high survivability and strength, and so, it should be attractive to women. But of course, we know few of these, we know more about the lazy fat ones.
vagbutters 7y ago
Too bad it's not. I guarantee that the few cases where girls are into those "fat dudes," it has to do with other factors (maybe he's tall and bulky-fat, with muscle beneath the fat, maybe he's rich, etc.)
blackedoutfast 7y ago
that's a really good point that the fat dudes that do well with girls are the bear types who look like they have muscles and fat. you never see skinny fat guys with hot girlfriends.
and from what i've seen, every one of those girls who has a fat boyfriend also has a big bear-like father that she had a good relationship with.
but even if you are a big powerlifting type guy, you can still make a huge difference by cutting body fat. every lb of fat you lose makes your game more effective.
[deleted] 7y ago
I think there is a preference thing going on here where women without a lot of options would rather have a fat dude than a scrawny one. They want a big guy and so will settle for a fat one if they can't have a buff one.
Mckallidon 7y ago
You can't debate attraction. You can however debate the wind. That's why meteorology is never exact. TRP is always on point.
vagbutters 7y ago
Seems that you didn't understand the meaning of the analogy at all.
[deleted]
FractalFactorial 7y ago
You'd think fat chicks would have that preference, but in today's society even they think they're entitled to something better. Especially with whales like Tes Holiday and idiots forwarding the HIGH TEST meme.
[deleted] 7y ago
Women do not have preferences.
An example: All women think they have a preference for tall guys. That's laughable. They apparently assume that some woman out there has a "preference" for short guys. Nope. It's a biological imperative for women to choose high value males. It's always been this way... it's just that before the prolific spreading of obesity there were very few women who couldn't get with Chad.
Edit: What is the 'High Test meme'?
[deleted] 7y ago
There's a reason fetishes are niche. Because they by definition are what is astray from the norm.
Fnaut3187 7y ago

same here! six weeks into keto and SL5x5 and enjoying the fuck out of my clothes falling off me and the massive energy boost.
bigtuna45 7y ago
yep - it's great! Some of my clothes look like shit now which sucks, but others that haven't fit in years (or never fit) now do fit!
Keep it up dude.
MMQ42 7y ago
Completely cut out carbs? Do you feel like shit? Are you lifting? It's kinda hard to believe you still have 40lbs to lose and in six weeks you're suddenly getting extra female attention. Hope I'm wrong, congrats on the weight loss.
[deleted]
[deleted] 7y ago
I can tell you, I used to be fat, as I approached normal range (but bigger) people treated me way different. I wasn't getting attention persay, but not being immediately disregarded felt like a huge change. I still want to trim another 20.
bigtuna45 7y ago
I have about 60 a daybtital, it's called keto. I am muscular but for. My love handles are almost gone giving mr a v taper.
Swallowed_the_pill 7y ago
I can imagine that the difference between being looked at with disgust and being aknowlegded as a human being is a pretty huge swing for a lot of post extremely obese people.
MMQ42 7y ago
Namaste my man, appreciate the perspective.
p3n1x 7y ago
The attention goes up because of your overall behavior / body language. Not because of your "new look". Good mental health (not talked about enough) shows, women can see this better than men can. Better diet, better brain.
I am doing Keto to get over a weight loss plateau. Yes I lift, heavily, 4 days on , one day off. Do I feel like shit, no, not anymore. (50 grams of Carb, MAX per day)
Sugar is thee most addictive drug on the planet. Fix the culture in your stomach, you help your brain.
If you are starting out, the first 6 weeks can seem like the universe flipped on its head. Depending on your level of obesity, one can easily drop 20lbs in six weeks by cutting out shit foods and do some light excercise. (much of it water loss)
For many guys, 20lbs = 1 to 2 notches on the belt/waistline. New pair of pants, better attitude. Proper fitting shirt, again, new attitude.
MMQ42 7y ago
Personally keto didn't really work for me as I focus on powerlifting and I need the athletic performance that carbs provide and am comfortable at 15-17% bodyfat. Right now I eat about 180-200g carbs from good sources and have been able to control my urges.
p3n1x 7y ago
Good stuff, I don't power-lift. Still getting to my desired look. I was 325 in December last year, got to 265 by May and plateaued hard. Keto got me over the hump. It really helped me kick my bad "snacking" habits. I'm still at a 20%'ish body fat.
vagbutters 7y ago
The last pounds are always the ones that show the most (look up the toilet paper analogy in weight loss)
steakhause 7y ago
Called the “paper towel” analogy, this is a brilliant way to really put the whole process of weight loss in a great and healthier perspective: The lesson to be learned is that fat, like paper towels, comes off in sheets. When you are heavy, you are big around. And when you are big around, that fat is spread over a MUCH larger area - just like that outside towel sheet.
The closer you get to the lean you, the more each lost pound of fat shows, because it is spread over a smaller area. While the outside sheet may only cover 1 layer of the roll, the inside sheet may go around 4 times. That last sheet looks like it gives you 4 times the results of the first sheet, but in reality, the results are the same - your perception is just different!
dudeguymanthesecond 7y ago
Eh. Most fat loss isn't noticeable because there's still fat underneath it. The last pounds matter because you can actually start seeing muscle.

poopcasso 7y ago
Nah dog, keep working out five times a week. Don't cut your calories. Keep working out and you'll end up shredded within reasonable time - all the while building strength and keeping your muscle mass.
showdownhero 7y ago
this is only true in the sense of metabolic adaption from long term caloric deficit, you're TDEE does not go down as you lower your bodyfat in fact it's the opposite. The more muscular you are the more calories you burn
[deleted] 7y ago
If you are near single digit fat percentages while excising regularly you should probably not cut calories.
vagbutters 7y ago
Not only that, but your tendency to lose muscle at larger caloric deficits also increases. This is why you have to slow down and keep your calories slightly up when you're getting closer to your goal weight (albeit with adequate protein levels).
[deleted] 7y ago
THIS!
Much under 10% and you're backing up.
RedDeadCred 7y ago
Yep, the way through a plateau when you've already been cutting calories and exercising is to bump your calories up and dial back the exercise and maintain, maybe even gain back a couple pounds, so your body can take a break from the stress of weight loss for a bit and your hormones can all recover.
vagbutters 7y ago
Errr no-- nothing you said is supported by any sort of science. Seems you misread what I said.
There's no such thing as "hormone recovery." It's calories in= calories out. "Plateau's" have to do with water weight or a person eating more than they think. If you're mentally tired of dieting, that's another thing entirely, in which case you can take a break, but you're breaking your progress with every day you waste. Plateau's happen, but you break through them eventually and see the pounds come off easily. Most often, if you're attentive, it was because of water weight due to muscle inflammation, carbs, etc.

Delaying or holding back in terms of progress, development, or accomplishment is the very definition of "Retard".
Some people are retarded by choice, others did not have a choice in their genetic condition.
Filtering yourself "out of (imaginary) respect" is actually more harmful then the girly tingles it gives oneself. Filtering is an insult, filtering is proof that the "one being gallantly protected" , needs you to stand up for them. It proves they actually are a lesser being, because of your hypocrisy and selfish need to validate white knight bullshit.

Any advice on getting the mind set? I'm a fat ass and I just lose motivation easily. I don't exactly have money for a gym membership and it's kind of hard to find time with two kids. But I really want to lose 100lbs. I just keep making some excuse. I'm also horrendously addicted to porn. I started reading TRP posts because I wanted to change but wanting to and doing is two different things.
Bigcasanova 7y ago
Start by just watching what you eat , if you are more than 100 lbs overweight just go ahead and drop all processed foods , try to stick with just meat and vegetables , and if you can manage it ( you can) walk for 30 mins to an hour a day . Depending on how overweight you are the first 30-40 lbs will drop off quickly , then it gets a little more challenging but also way more rewarding .
SeekingTheWay 7y ago
By cooking yourself instead of eating in restaurants/fastfoods, you not only save tremendous amount of money but also directly control the healthiness of your diet.
Then use the saved money for gym membership.
yummyFunTime 7y ago
Ever since I lost weight (went Primal, which is a offshoot of Paleo) I've been happier and less annoyed by small dumb shit.
I went from 240lbs at 5'10" to 175lbs with just walking and dieting. Cut the sugar, shop in the meats/veggies, maybe have a dark chocolate bar (80% cacao) for something sweet.
I was 31, and by 32 I went from that fat whiny asian nerd to a slim asian nerd with a new body fit wardrobe and a better attitude (currently 36). Girls started talking to me again (I was 185 lbs in college) and I liked being me.
I wish my current roommates would make the change that OP is saying. They'll cook tons of food (Gravy N Biscuits, Lasagna, Mexican Corn) then get bored and leave leftovers in the fridge. There are literally 3 weeks worth of food that just gets left in the fridge to waste because they become "bored" by what's in the fridge.
If I say "you should cut down on sugar" the whining, moaning and excuses just flows like shit from a sewage spout. The mindset of making excuses for shitty environment/lifestyle is ingrained too deep.
If it was just that, I wouldn't mind, but it spills over into daily chores or just keeping the place clean. They are both fucking slobs. The living room and their rooms are just stuffed with Man Child nerd toys (i.e. figures, legos, etc) and piles of clothes strewn across the floors. I rarely hang out at the house other than my room because of the "Toy Encroachment" happening everywhere. The idea of even having casual FBs or even actual friends over seems horrifying to me because of just how gross the place is.
I don't even want to talk about the bathroom. Being the only person who even cleans is ridiculous.
The few times I've hung out with them outside for walks (down by Pike's Place or the Waterfront in Seattle), it feels like it takes 3 times longer to do anything because of how slow they are on foot.
My point is that being fat is misery, for your friends, for any girl that wants to be with you and for yourself. If you're tired of being miserable, than fucking do something about it and stop making excuses. Fix your life.
OneInAZillion 7y ago
Would you mind making another one of these except instead of "fat", you replace it with "skinny as a god damned twig" ?

I've had flat out arguments with other about how being fat can endanger your health.
"Oh, well I'm a big person, but ny doctor says I'm 100% healthy!"
Let's see them say that when you need emergency surgery and the fat is around the organs they need to get to, guess what?
Exactly. You only got one body. Take care of it.

Great post, tough but positive. It's a hard lesson for a lot of us life long fatsos to hear, but an important one. I've been able to drop my BF by around 2-3% in the past year, but I have a long way to.
Docbear64 7y ago
Losing weight really is a solid first step to loving yourself . I have been overweight my whole life , I am the healthiest I have ever been now but still want to lose another 50lbs if I'm honest. I lost 60 lbs last year and I can't explain how strange it was embracing the mindset of loving my body. My entire life I had been ashamed of being fat, I used my humor and intelligence to get most of the women I had been with but largely I disliked the shit out of myself . Dressing and even some basic bathing principles didn't matter to me because it felt like putting makeup on a pig . a fat lump who smells good / is dressed nicely is still a fat lump .
Losing the weight opened up my eyes to a lot of things though at first the only differences I saw were the numbers of the scale slowly going down , then small things here and there, my fat creases disappearing , my pants getting looser , eventually I could see new features of my body that I really liked. I've fallen in love with my biceps .
Being a big guy through most of my life to being a smaller guy that I am now is worlds different, Women notice me more, my dick does feel bigger sometimes, I had ED issues when I was eating shitty food but now my dick pops up like I'm 18 again ( I missed you buddy) , I can go to the store, try something , and even a few times I just knew it wouldn't fit and it fit fantastically.
If you are like me and have always been overweight losing weight is the best gift that you can give yourself . My favorite motivational quote is " It won't be easy , but it will be worth it" . That's been my experience with weight loss , I won't say it was easy , I figured out how to make it work for me though and the pride and self-love losing weight has given me has helped me to foster such strong sense of love and respect for myself .

You nailed something here... you're spot on. I never connected this to myself but I've used that phrase a lot but had never applied it to myself in this way. This is where a fattie says to stop beating myself up, but honestly, I was a fucking pig+sloth and knew that clothes didn't fit me anyways... I just didn't know what clothes that fit looked like and knew through example that I hated fit people. I was not always fat, more so skinny-fat with shit posture, but I indeed gained 50lbs over a short time then lost it and am now in the best shape of my life (for background).
[deleted] 7y ago
Fashion is nothing without Fitness. It's the reason every model and mannequin are the ideal body type - it's also the reason no guys approach a fat woman with a Burberry jacket and a Chanel bag. You're wasting money on fashion if you're still 40+lbs overweight.
As actionable advice, I'd recommend you get by with the necessities and shop at fast-fashion places (H&M, etc) until you're in shape enough to spring for nice clothes.
[deleted] 7y ago
True that, in fact I've noticed I can shop anywhere and get compliments on it. Part of it is not wearing many labels, except on accessories which will make any v-neck look HAWT with a David-bod... I'm already on board with your advice, thanks! (should say past the need unless I bulk big time, but did it!! woohoo ;)

The people I respect the most at the gym are the men and women who are overweight. They are the ones who decided to get off the couch and the Cheetos and at least try.
RGIIIsus 7y ago
I get what you mean, but I have more respect for those who have had to the discipline to never let themselves get to that point. Like I have respect for addicts that put in the work to get out, but I respect the ones who never let themselves get to that point more.
patrickkcassells 7y ago
For some people, it really isnt a choice. i say that as someone who has never been more than a little overweight.
I know a guy, Jacob. Comitted as hell to the gym, eats really well, if anything not enough.
He just doesnt lose the weight. For some people, its a lot harder. It's impossible for no one, but for some people, its a lot harder than you could imagine.
ssr401 7y ago
Unlikely. Try following him around for week and actually weighing and counting everything he consumes.
patrickkcassells 7y ago
Jesus christ, do you really believe that all people can just easily lost weight?
ssr401 7y ago
I really believe that all people can lose weight by eating less. This is literally the easiest possible thing: just put down the fork. Of course it requires some discipline...
patrickkcassells 7y ago
I know the dude, ive seen him starve himself.
Hes not some 400lb lard-ass, he's just got that sort of "husky" extra weight. I'd agree if he was huge.
ssr401 7y ago
So you're claiming that if he was trapped on a desert island with no food that he wouldn't lose weight?
vagbutters 7y ago
That's an easy thing to say when you weren't raised with terrible eating habits. When you are taught from childhood to eat garbage, not exercise, and have no self-confidence, you're set back in life bigtime.
What you're saying is just as silly as blaming a blue-pill man for being an indoctrinated fat manchild when he has never had any red pill influence in his life. You need to get a taste of the other side to know that it exists.
[deleted]
[deleted] 7y ago
There's no excuse for that much lack of knowledge in today's world. If you're fat, you're either too lazy to figure out why or too lazy to fix it. Pick one.
vagbutters 7y ago
It's mostly the latter, usually a symptom of shitty habits ingrained from childhood. Same issue with being a scrawny pile of bones.
robin-bunny 7y ago
No. A lot of it does start in childhood. A lot of kids are NOT taught good habits. Look at the rise in childhood obesity - those kids aren't lazy or stupid. Their parents are teaching them bad habits, or allowing them to indulge too much in unhealthy activities or foods. Often the parents don't know better, or don't have the motivation to do better. They buy lunch at school like their peers and it's crap. They start out behind everyone, and that is REALLY hard to reverse. I feel very sorry for these kids. But just because someone isn't obese from age 8, doesn't mean they learned good habits. Think back through your schooling and your parents influence - did they teach you healthy eating? Did they really encourage exercise, or just "sports" or two hours a week of "gym class"? It has little to do with class or income either - all of my high school friends are very overweight as adults, and we went to a private school where they did try to teach us about nutrition. It's now worked into the curriculum in our province (BC, Canada), but still not enough - and I don't think this is the case everywhere.
[deleted] 7y ago
The fat neckbeards that populate this sub are hilarious. Get to the top 20% or die trying! Nobody cares about where you came from and the hardships you've faced, only where you are!
Oh, you're fat? You poor thing, must be someone else's fault.
LethalShade 7y ago
You're so unconscious its almost beautiful.
[deleted] 7y ago
Partly it is society at fault for not fat shaming and it usually does start from childhood. HOW can you be thin when your parents put two cups of rice, mashed potato, no veggies on your plate and bring out the tub of icecream after dinner? Oh? You can say "I do not want to eat this"? Well shit, its finish your plate mentality because kids in Africa are starving. Fuck, you are 8 years old. How can you even resist candy much less icecream.
What would be sad would be using that as an EXCUSE not to lose weight.
adam_varg 7y ago
Hamstering, excuses, rationalizations.
My brow grew up learning same healthy eating habits as much. That didnt stop him to go buy junk in his free time since he was like six and being overweight as adult.
Informations how to eat healthy are everywhere and mostly for free. Healthy food is easily obtained and cheaper than processed shit.
Yeah some people have it harder, everyone has some handicaps.
vagbutters 7y ago
Awesome! It's almost like what I said is a generalization and your brother is an exception to the rule.
Always hard to see these things when you had a privileged lifestyle from the getgo.
Even funnier that you see this as an "excuse," when I'm giving a straight up explanation as to why people wind up being lardasses with no real hope in sight.
Information is not the concern in the modern day, you're right about that. It's the drive and ability to consistently stick to a diet that's the issue.
adam_varg 7y ago
You fail to see my point.
Bad upbringing can give you harder start and demand more effort for same results as someone with "priviliged" start, it isnt responsible for someone being loser.
If you say it is because their shitty habits from childhood it is excuse and nothing more. It is because they are complacement or weak enough to change. Yes good habits would make it easier for them, but it isnt game changer.
Man-with-a-pitchfork 7y ago
You fail to see everybody else's point.
Exactly. And that's why people deserve most respect if they overcome the disadvantage of their upbringing and get fit anyway.
This doesn't take away anything from people who never let themselves get fat in the first place - that's of course the smarter, better thing to do in life.
People deserve the most criticism if they grew up with good role models in a healthy environment and they still end up being fat, lazy losers.
Fat, lazy losers who never had any good influences and have been sugar junkies from early childhood on still deserve criticism, but not quite as much.
Overcoming a bad upbringing and becoming fit against all odds deserves the most praise.
adam_varg 7y ago
Normal state of humans body isnt fat or unfit.
Hence nobody deserves praise or respect for not being fat or for getting to human levels of bodyfat after pigging himself up.
vagbutters 7y ago
You're just an incredibly dense individual who cannot listen to the other side of an argument.
[deleted] 7y ago
Iff they are hitting it hard. Most fatties go to the gym and do some quarter ass workout then reward themselves with twice as many calories as they burned.
I'll shame the fuck out of fatties at the gym because if you're doing it right, you won't be fat for long. If you're not, you deserve to be made fun of.
walnut_of_doom 7y ago
With that user name I hope to God you are as ripped as you act.
Mckallidon 7y ago
I agree with the post, not being a dick at the gym. What are you 20? If you're so concerned why don't you spot them or offer advice on their form like a real leader. This is all about making your small sense of self feel bigger than it is because you're just a tad bigger than someone else in only one arena of life. Stop sucking your own dick before you're head gets too fat. These fat fucks may have contributed more to the world overall than you have and it could be something you take for granted.
[deleted] 7y ago

Mckallidon 7y ago
Agree whole-heartedly. If people on sports teams treated each other this way, they would never become champions. There is no strength in tearing down someone becoming a stronger version of themselves. I don't compare myself to others because like you say, you treat yourself and other people like crisp. Being abusive is a sign of weakness. Cheers!
[deleted] 7y ago
Found the fatty.
I'm not going to go out of my way to either mock or help them if they're obviously not trying. As long as they don't get in my way. But if you're like the fatty at my gym "curling" 100s by swinging your whole body and moving it 2 inches, then strutting around like a peacock, then yes I'm going to have a good laugh at your expense.
Oh and I love the RPG assumption that a fatty is awesome elsewhere. Not common at all. There have to be a few making decent contributions to society due to probabilities and the sheer number of them, but most are useless.
Mckallidon 7y ago
Yeah, me too.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_projection
I don't think you actually go to a gym. There's a lot of hyperbole here. It sounds like a lot of self-hate projected outwards, like a closet-Queen. Especially with a moniker swole is life. Just because you have stretch marks don't make you swole son.
You're the most useless sounding person I've met on here. Can't even troll well.
[deleted] 7y ago
Sure fatty...whatever makes you feel better typing on that cheeto-crusted keyboard.
Mckallidon 7y ago
Funny. I don't have a keyboard. Only a smartphone. Good for sending the women in your family pics of why I'm a called fatty.
WolfofAnarchy 7y ago
You seem like such a fucking despicable person, goddamn get some cool
[deleted] 7y ago
And the second fatty is here!
WolfofAnarchy 7y ago
90kg, muscular at 1.81m. Try again!
[deleted] 7y ago
Seems stocky and that explains the white knighting
chris_sydney 7y ago
Second that. Losing fat is not hard.
landon042 7y ago
many bros on the gym subs and steroid subs agree.
gaining muscle is harder than losing fat.
I want to gain? I put in hell of effort in the gym and eat loads.
losing fat? I just eat fewer calories. the cravings blow but it's doable.
vagbutters 7y ago
As a guy who lost over 100 pounds a few years back, I strongly disagree-- losing fat is very hard, since it requires a complete lifestyle re-haul. Most guys who are fat were raised with shitty eating habits (finish your plate mentality, eating junk food instead of a proper meal, etc.).
It's easy to say something like this when you were raised with good eating habits. It's a lot easier to be healthy as an adult when you've had the same general lifestyle most of your life. This is not to make excuses for overweight/obese men, since, like it or not, you need to lose the fat no matter what.
Darkone06 7y ago
You make it sound like every skinny person or there grew up with an abundance of food.
Some of us are skinny cause we had just as bad dieting habits but in the opposite direction.
Even when I have had plenty of money to eat out every meal. I don't because I have self control and don't want to get fat.
It doesn't matter how you were raised, what matters is now.
vagbutters 7y ago
Being scrawny is just as bad as being fat, and the pathology is similar (albeit not as terrible) as obesity. Shitty diet habits work on both ends of the spectrum.
Mckallidon 7y ago
From the title, since you're talking about fat, you must be stupid.

Ah yes, a very strong and well researched theory /s
ManowaR1488 7y ago
Sugars effects on the brain are similar to cocaine. Some people have addictive personalities and it's just not so easy. Look at the people who struggle with it their whole lives, It's exactly the same as a drug addiction. It's so bad sometimes that these people get depressed and even commit suicide. It's easy to say "put down the fork fatass" when you're not dealing with it everyday and it fucking up almost all aspects of your daily life. It's easy for me to tell a smoker to just PUT DOWN THE CIGARETTE/NEEDLE! when I'm not addicted.
It's not just an issue of will power for everybody. Sugar is a addictive public health hazard.
Head on over to /loseit or /progresspics once in a while and read what's written by those who have lost(alot) of weight, the comments supporting them sounds like they're straight out of an AA/Drug addiction support group meeting. They are so happy to have overcome something so challenging in their lives that it's like they won the fucking lottery sometimes.
LethalShade 7y ago
You make a great point. It is hard, really hard. No matter what though, you have to do it if you want to ever meet the best version of yourself. There's no other option.
stawek 7y ago
Everything is addictive. Stop making excuses.
If they have "addictive personalities" I advise getting addicted to exercise (yes, it is possible).
cuntweiner 7y ago
Today was the first time I went for a run on my rest day, eight days in a row for me, 6 miles a day. I just had to do it though, I needed to get my heart rate pumping and get drenched in sweat. I'm definitely addicted now, and I never would have imagined myself getting to this point when I first started.
IDefyAxioms 7y ago
If you're referring to runner's high, not everyone can actually get that. It's all based on your genetics if those neurotransmitters are hit with those chemicals.
adam_varg 7y ago
Sugar craving is nowhere near as severe as cocaine or meth addict craving.
That is just rationalization ammunition for weeklings.
Yes you get sugar cravings, some people more severe than others. But if you wanna compare it to drugs keep it levelheaded. Your average fatty feel drawn to shitfood as much as your average recreational coke user on mondays. Fatty is just weakling with no discipline and selfesteem.

Bro I laughed so hard at this.
Akela_hk 7y ago
Excellent post and on point. I disagree with the potato thing though. As long as it fits your macros for a caloric deficit, you'll be fine. I've lifted for years and have gone off and on with proper dieting. The quality of pussy slain is directly proportional to your fatness, I know from experience.

what's your opinions on being overweight (not obese)

What's your opinion on being mediocre?

who cares what his opinion is! what is yours? do you need an excuse or what? go make some sports and eat appropriate. you are sabotaging yourself

Why so much meat ? that isn't good either . Im not fst and completely aggree with your Statement , but too much meat is neither healthy nor " manly " . Thats also a lazy way of thinking , learn about cooking and start to prepare yourself healthy Food with less meat and more diversity . I've recently started to follow a strict diet : as little sugar as possible , no nicotine , coffeine , alcohol , only one meal with meat a week , only water , Tea and juice with 100% fruit , a wide variety of vegetables , fruits , nuts , berries , a little bi t of milk products . Thats enough , I've bought myself a book called " no meat athlete " which has great recipes and honestly ive never felt better , i get up earlier in the morning without being sleepy at all , work out more , i am just more productive , i have much more energy compared to what I used to have before . Learning how to cook is fun , it makes the whole ordeal less of a chore . Also im no native speaker , just to clear that up .

OK BUT IS IT REALLY NECESSARY TO CUT OUT CARBOHYDRATES?
Docbear64 7y ago
I think it depends on the person. For me carbs are addictive, cutting them out made adopting other eating and excercise habits easier. However I know people who are peak physical specimen and LOVE their carbs. I feel like dieting/ changing food is a process of expirementation. Try something for two weeks to a month and if it doesn't yield some kind of result. Tweak it or try something new.
grubek 7y ago
No, but it helps.
When it comes to weight, a calorie is a calorie not matter where it comes from, but not all calories FEEL the same. With the same amount of calories fat and protein will make you feel fuller than carbohydrates. Therefore since you feel fuller you'll tend to eat less calories if you eat more fat and protein than carbohydrates.
CrimsonDisciple 7y ago
I would add to this that carbs affect the body in different ways metabolically which has the effect of storing rather than burning fat.
grubek 7y ago
If you are referring to the idea keto promotes of lower insuline it has never been proven scientifically and all studies show that for the same calories any group has the same effect on getting fat.
CrimsonDisciple 7y ago
"Glucose, a simple sugar, provides energy for cell functions. After food is digested, glucose is released into the bloodstream. In response, the pancreas secretes insulin, which directs the muscle and fat cells to take in glucose. Cells obtain energy from glucose or convert it to fat for long-term storage."
https://www.nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/nih-study-shows-how-insulin-stimulates-fat-cells-take-glucose
grubek 7y ago
Sure, but what that does not prove that changing what you ingest changes how much your body stores in.
billsmashole 7y ago
I won't hate on this post. Fat people need to lose weight. Most are lazy from what I've noticed, and even if they're not, special considerations must always be made for them in life. There is no excuse to be obese.
[deleted] 7y ago
But bro, many medical experts claim that this whole "man tits" issue is not some simple fat based phenomenon, but a hormonal anomaly which can be solved only through surgery. What's your take on this claim??
SeekingTheWay 7y ago
So what, we gonna cut hormones now?
[deleted] 7y ago
Estrogen imbalance is the reason. Don't you wanna cut that out, you village hick??
