In light of recent events in Toronto and all the incel-related content I’ve seen recently, I want to put this out there and hopefully remind the men of trp and beyond that they desperately need to depedestalize women. Clearly the thousands of past posts on this haven’t sunk in.
Anecdote time. I was a student at UCSB and living in Isla Vista the night Elliot Rodger went on his shooting spree and killed 6 people. The same Elliot Rodger who posted multiple YouTube videos and an extensive online manifesto in which he discussed his hatred of the women around him due to their lack of interest in him. The same Elliot Rodger that has become a meme and a martyr figure in the incel community online. The same Supreme Gentleman that the recent Toronto attacker posted an homage to on Facebook some time prior to running his van into a crowd of people. Rodger spent his years convinced that the reason he was unhappy was because he didn’t have women in his life. Never once did he shift the focus onto himself. Never once did he think that maybe he was lacking the traits and character qualities that women value. No, rather he was convinced that women ignored him due to some cruel cosmic joke, and in a desperate attempt to finally get their attention he got himself a gun, killed a few sorority girls and eventually offed himself in his car with police on his tail. Good job kid.
Rodger lives on within certain sects of the internet. To the hundreds of thousands of basement dwelling, Mountain Dew chugging, hentai fapping, neck bearding human males out there, Rodger is a de-facto hero and martyr. A boy who spent his life in forced social isolation, watching those around him lead the lives he so desperately wanted for himself, without even a passing glance in his direction. A boy who got so fed up with his insignificance that he eventually mustered up the balls to do something about it. Let’s be honest here, I think most of the people that frequent this sub can relate to parts of his story. I know I can. A lot of us can painfully remember the years we spent wishing things were different, wishing we could be cool and get pussy like those other guys. Those are the memories that now drive us to constantly strive for better.
Rodger’s idea of striving for better was wearing a Hugo Boss button down and smirking at girls at the bus stop. He never thought to himself that maybe women are repulsed by skinny, pretentious, socially retarded softies. He never saw himself for what he truly was, and it eventually destroyed him.
Rodger’s story, while tragic, is a valuable cautionary tale for the young men of this generation. Look at yourselves. Recognize your shortcomings. Work to improve upon the weaknesses you can control. Work to make peace with those you cannot. Do this consistently and effectively and before you know it, you will be living a life better than you ever thought possible. Work to look better, be smarter, and have more fun. Work to make more money, make more friends, and have more life experiences. Become someone attractive, and people will be attracted to you. And I don’t mean attractive in a solely physical sense. Ever see an absolute dime with a relatively ugly guy and think “Why is she with him?” It’s likely because he’s a cool motherfucker with social proof up the ass and fun shit happening around him ALL THE TIME. She just wants to be along for the ride.
There are things in life we cannot control. We can’t choose where we are born, nor to whom, nor in what financial circumstances. We can’t control when we start balding, nor how tall we grow, nor the color of our skin. But it doesn’t matter, because none of these things bring happiness or fulfillment. As men, we are always in control of our lives. When you go around spewing bullshit about black pills you are cheating yourself out of the truth: you will always be able to improve the life you lead. You just have to be strong enough to do so. Women will never bring you happiness, but you can create it. This is God’s gift to men.
tilnewstuff 5y ago
That's exaggerating it. Yes, happiness must come from inside first, but women are an essential part of happiness. No lonely man can be truly happy.
aherne18 6y ago
I kinda disagree. Most people here are smart enough to realize the truth about themselves, but can't find enough energy to get past that...
prostaddict 6y ago
In my experience, when I was suffering from low self esteem, insecurity, feelings of worthlessness - getting a woman made my life worse, not better. That inner, personal plague I suffered from put me into the most toxic, unhealthy relationships which did nothing but make things worse. No More Mr Nice Guys talks alot about that

Some of Elliot Rodger's old comments on a bodybuilding forum:
The guy was fucked up in more ways than one.
I think above all his flaw was that he was unable to take or learn from criticism. All those people wanting to help him. People telling him to lift. And how did he react?

Relentlessly chasing your dreams, unapologetically, ignoring all the bullshit, and self-actualizing is what brings true happiness. Skip some steps on Maslow's hierarchy of needs and be a complete bad ass and when there are people laying in your wake...she'll come, the one for you. If you be the best version of yourself then you'll attract the same. I don't know why I didn't realize that sooner.
oldrunnerguy 6y ago
I consider myself a MGTOW, but I come on here quite often. I appreciate the post and I feel it is congruent with the philosophies that I have adopted for myself. I am in my mid 50's, just recently through a divorce, and have come to certain realizations of finally acknowledging some hard truths that, maybe I knew all along, but could only be convinced through life-long experiences.
Not all of us are going to have the SMV that women desire nor the game needed to facilitate it plus, in my case, where you don't have the available resources, it is futile to put your focus on relationships. It does get to be very frustrating, but I think the implication that you are attempting to purvey is to improve yourself for yourself and then let yourself be the only judge that matters.
I, like many men, thought that a woman would bring me happiness. It was, as it was with most men, the struggle to accept their shortcomings in order to have someone to love you back. The result was sacrificing my core values to get my physical needs met, which once I married her, did not happen. I think you have to stick to your core values to have a happy life, with or without a woman in your life. You need to be happy on your own. You solve that and then you can decide whether to be MGTOW or whether to pursue a relationship.

I can relate at 50 going through a divorce. Best wishes.

Some men that encounter the redpill find it shocking, and sometimes an aberration. The moment they realize women's true nature is so overwhelming, that they completely spin it in a negative light. The realization that women are not these mythical unicorns they were conditioned to believe they were by society in general, shatters some of these men's lives entirely.
Psychologically speaking, every human being is different. Nature and nurture play an extremely important role in human behavior. Nature states that our behavior, personality traits and abilities are in our genetic, but it also determines the likeliness of genetic illnesses and diseases. Nurture states that our environment, upbringing and life experiences determine our behavior.
These two aspects determine not only the way we behave but the way we perceive and interpret information. Being that these two aspects are different for everyone is almost impossible to predict how each person might react to new information or certain situations, sometimes ending in the extreme of psychotic breaks, killing rampages and suicide.
That's why i think the way we approach not only the redpill but any type of information or situation must be with an open mind and always questioning everything with our best possible judgement.
Aristotle quote: "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it" pretty much sums it up and by achieving this, there might be a reduction of men that stay stuck in the anger stage, and the complete realization that women's hypergamic behavior is subconscious and their evolutionary way of adapting, ensuring their best chances of survival and the preservation of the best genetic material as well.
Making the picture of women's hypergamic nature as clear as possible will help to identify their sexual strategy and give a chance to the majority of men to plan their own strategy accordingly.
Pie_021 6y ago
IMO I'm not surprised how many men handle the redpill. It doesn't help that society today really pushes the "women are wonderful effect" and many men are naive enough or indoctrinated to believe that. I mean how do you go from wanting women to thinking they are great to still wanting women but realizing how fucked up their rationale and mentality is? It's a kick in the face, a punch to the nuts, a complete 180. It's like peeking back behind the stage and finding out it was all a front. Men take things at face value and now are forced to thinking very strategically into deciphering women's intentions. Having to go from taking it easy to playing chess with every interaction. It's a mind fuck, it's exhausting, and it leaves many wishing that thing weren't this way.
Of course I'm not excusing these guys behavior, you are right people are different and guys like Elliot were probably a couple of notches from unhinged and all they needed was a triggering event. Men who come here, read, understand, reflect, and then improve are lucky. I honestly found this sub by mere chance and when I was reading it up, I was like "Yes yes! This is everything I have thought to my self!" It was like finally finding people who actually agree with you in a sea of people who won't even entertain or answer your questions.
If you look at many "social movements" today they are all very two faced. Feminism claims they are for equality between men and women yet blame men for everything and strive to give women every advantage they can. They claim men are the oppressors but men are the one's being disadvantaged left and right. BLM says white people are oppressors but then claim you can't be racist towards white people. Their values and actions conflict. And if you try to talk to these people and try to share your views or ask questions, prepare yourself to brutally attacked. People have been doxxed, harassed, accounts banned, swatted, and more. These people are fucking crazy.
danhaas 6y ago
With practice, it becomes easier to play chess with every interaction. It's the "unconcious competence" phase that was posted here some days ago.
WombatCommander 5y ago
I think the more adept socializers get to a point where they aren't even focused on playing the chess game anymore, but rather enjoying the ability to pick and choose between the best possible canidates for marriage.
Others like to flip the chess board and just do whatever they feel like doing, within bounds of reason, The real trick is to have respect for yourself and others in a social situation, and to go into it knowing that a rejection isn't the end of the world.
Chaddeus_Rex 6y ago
Tl;DR people are special snowflakes REEEE.
Most people operate by certain behavioral patterns that depend strongly on their cultural upbringing. By knowing their cultural upbringing and their gender, I can tell you with quite a large degree of certainty how they think and the general pattern will hold. The variations will be in small differences about tastes like pizza vs tacos, red vs green color, etc.
vfb14 6y ago
My point is that there's a huge change that mentally unstable people frequent this subreddits. They are highly likely to take certain information in an extremist view, and as long as there's that possibility there are always going be casualties like the one in Toronto, and that is impossible to predict. By the way I agree that there are snowflakes everywhere.
Chaddeus_Rex 6y ago
There is a reason extremist views are taken - mainly desparation and lack of masculine role models that can teach moderation. Extremist views are the perogorative of youths. These attacks such as the one in Toronto or others occur because youths do not become men because of an extremely effemate environment and lack of strong masculine role models. Feminism is directly to blame for the attacks.
vfb14 6y ago
You are making some valid points, but only focusing completely in nurture while forgetting about nature. I think my original comment is pretty self explained. Have a great day!.
Chaddeus_Rex 6y ago
I ignore nature because nurture plays a greater role in this instance. The proof of this is that there are no reports of such attacks coming from more masculine cultures like Armenia (where the van attacker was from). Nature gives a predisposition, but that predisposition merely means something is MORE LIKELY to happen given certain environmental conditions. This means that the Van Attacker may have been predisposed to attack people (ie more likely to do so), under conditions of man hating that we have here. He would have been completely different in Armenia.

[deleted] 6y ago
This reminds me of an experience I had a couple years back at my Dad's place. He lived in a fairly tropical region with an old house and so we left the window open for breeze but didn't have a fly screen, so a myriad of insects were allowed to fly in. I was lying on my bed with my phone passing the time with the lights out, and of course, I had a whole university course's worth of entymology specimens on my brightly lit screen. First they were a nuisance but then I got used to them.
Then, a firefly wandered in and perched itself on the roof, and contented itself with sitting there. For 5 minutes I stared at its bio-luminescent blinker light butthole in admiration of it's beauty, when suddenly I noticed something. The firefly wasn't attracted to my phone screen at all. It hadn't veered remotely in the path towards me or my dimly lit distraction device. And it puzzled me why, until I realized that all of these other lawn-dwelling, fruit-eating insects were scavenging the light that I so dutifully provided for them. But the firefly made it's own light. It could just as easily be comfortable by itself or in the company of other fireflies, but the other insects parasitically dwelled in the glow of others.
And I thought about this and immediately realized why some people attract a greater amount of attention and friendship than others. It was by far the most profound thing I've ever thought of myself.

abstractplebbit 6y ago
Insects are gross and can cause disease., but instead of acknowledging that you romanticize them in an analogy to masculinity or women. This really smells like the whole liberal "anything goes" mentality aka degeneracy

Jesus Christ. Do you even lift bro? Nobody fucking cares about your poetry unless it sells.

Do you even read bro? Thinking is hard.
Angu_jungle_poo 6y ago
Hahahaha, get the idea but..... aye....
Chaddeus_Rex 6y ago
The strongest, fastest and fiercest fighters in ancient Greece (the Spartans), placed a huge importance on philosophy and poetry for men.
If a man is a poet and doesn't lift - he's effemiate.
If a man is a lifter but not a poet - he is dumb.
The complete man lifts and engages in poetry - for poetry is what causes him to strive for strength and beauty of which his body is capable.

If you'd take a second to see what that account usually posted, it's exactly this. Feelgood stories over various subreddits from a troll account. Posting various random shit here and there. Perhaps someone with way too much time on their hands. And somehow he brings a brigade to upvote his shit.
melungeonmuscle 6y ago
How long have you been lifting? I can tell you are probably in the early "enthusiasm" stage because people who have been doing it 10+ years know that it's okay to like things outside of that. Kai Greene does art for example and I'm pretty sure you're no fucking Kai. Probably still wet behind your ears. I can't stand motherfuckin assholes
ex_addict_bro 6y ago
I wonder how much series could you and you Sperg downvote team do in the time you spent organizing them to downvote my small comment.
Click away. That’s pretty much all you can do.
melungeonmuscle 6y ago
Dude what the fuck are you talking about? I don't give a fuck about downvoting your comment. I just don't like when dicks think they can act all big and bad and try to feel superior cuz they fucking lift weights. I've seen plenty of fucking pussies that lift, it doesn't mean shit to anyone. There's always gonna be some motherfucker who is bigger anyway. I'm juiced and I lift and have respectable size but you never stop wanting to get better and as you get older you'll find you want to downsize for your health anyway

Not sure which is worse.. your evident lack of braincells (in favour of biceps) or the fact you're endorsed. TRP needs a clean-up, starting with brainless muscle-heads. Don't worry, your kind will be flushed down the toilet. We need great leaders, not gym bros.

The problem is that modern society and feminism don't offer solutions for this. If anything, they amplify the problem by demonizing men and focusing on identity differences.
Toxic Masculinity is not the problem. It's a culture that demonizes masculinity. It's a culture that demonizes the things towards which we should aim.

I agree with the sentiment of the post of course, but I'm pretty sure if some cheerleader blew Rodger once he wouldn't have done shit. Women sure as fuck could have solved that problem.
tteabag2591 6y ago
It isn't a stable solution. Sure it might have stopped him in that instance but think about the precedent it sets. Loser men demand sexual attention or they blow people up. I don't think we want to go down that road. Whatever Elliot Rodger was, I don't want to see more of it. Women were right to reject him.
conflagratorX 6y ago
Women won't solve your problems but you have to experience it by yourself. Growing up in sex obsessed society, watching others having fun while even ugliest women won't look at you is frustrating as hell. Frustration causes anger - either against yourself, against society or both. Some people snaps and goes on killing spree and/or commit suicide.
Is the society to blame for this sad state of affairs? In good old patriarchy days there were more balance - women had to choose partners with similar SMV to her, they were marrying young to give best years to their husbands, promiscuous women were shamed. That was foundation of stable society. Now if you want to get laid you either have to go into top 20% (which by definition is not solution for majority) or be a beta bux to some post-wall hag, which will end in dead bedroom anyway. So I would say that anger against current society is at least understandable. You reap what you sow.
SmeggingRight 6y ago
From what I've seen, those posts have sunk in. There are thousands of posts here on how bad and privileged women are.
From the way I see it, the red pill pedestalizes women without realizing it. It's as if people here believe women are born knowing they should be "nice" to "nice men" but they turn away from this "knowledge" and run around with bad boy chads. It's kind of biblical, like the fall of Eve, when you think about it.
darknessbemyfriend 6y ago
TRP doesn’t exactly pedestalize women, as it regularly refers to females as untrustworthy whores, thots, plates etc.
However it does make it seem like your only goal is to smash lots of females and get gains. This takes away from anything else in life you may find enjoyable and leads to incel culture for those too unattractive to lead a life of lifting and thrusting.
If there were other focuses like “Work really hard and enjoy the financial freedom that later brings” or “do lots of Contiki tours and see the world WHILE banging lots of chicks...”
Ramp_Up_Then_Dump 6y ago
"nice guy"s are nice to people, agreeable, helpfull etc. They can put a ring, buy home, take care of children. On the other hand, "chad" is just here for pussy.
I cant see any pedestalization because logicaly any person should want to be with former. So it is not pedestalization, it is simple logic. But reality dont work that way.
AstuteBlackMan 6y ago
People spend time blaming others and never blame themselves. Great post
OralCarabiner 6y ago
Sometimes men just need to turn the woman problem on its head. Be better for yourself. Ignore what women think. See them for what they are. Fixtures that some fawn over, and nothing more.
Meisner1 6y ago
As a Christian, i approve that last sentence. I thoroughly believe men are 'programmed' to appreciate a woman's body.
magx01 6y ago
Posts like this always fail to recognize the individual differences in psychology. The way people react to given stimuli, information or hardships differs, and will always differ, based on an unbelievable amount of factors that we will never fully decode (from genetics to familial experiences to epigenetics to hormones etc).
This type of advice is always frankly useless because of the above.
OracleofFl 6y ago
I don't interpret the OP saying "We are awesome because we chose TRP over becoming an incel" and I don't see the post as offering advice as much as it just being on observation that the guys on this sub have chosen a different path than the incels have.
Your point is correct. Our ability to choose the RP path over the incel's "path of least resistance" (aka pass the blame to the world instead of accepting the blame for the situation) is based on our psychology.
Hjalmbere 6y ago
Rodgers had mental health issues. He was perscribed Xanax, Paxil and Prozac. He was also a fucking idiot born to privilege who didn't deal with his problems.
Women don't owe you sex just because you breathe. People don't owe you money just because you were born.
EvigSoeger 6y ago
About the Rodger thing, fucking preach. Seriously, that dude is living proof that the black pill is bullshit. A dude can't get laid from looks and family dollar alone - you gotta put in the work. If Elliot had spent his time lifting and overcoming his anxiety instead of playing WoW, he would've been unstoppable.
anabolic92 6y ago
It has been said here before, while women in your life will not solve your problems, the lack of it will create some.
Can be seen as money: Have none and you are fucked, get an stable income and everything is OK.
Paladin2903 6y ago
The only thing women have done in my life is create problems. The sad fact of life is that they are a HUGE burden. Unfortunately, all those Disney fairytales didn’t teach us this, growing up.
CloudGuide 6y ago
It does make you wonder tho, maybe the ability to spot one's weaknesses, to be self-conscious, to be honest with oneself is inbuilt. Why are some people brave and others not? I think there's a tiny amount of truth in their world view. Some people cannot be saved. Some people are just born retarded, either socially or mentally, or the same.

This is what I needed to hear. Kudos for a simple and short, yet well-formulated and fantastic post.
damageddude 6y ago
I'm not sure if this response is appropriate for this page; if not, mods feel free to delete. I started following this subredit after I my wife of over 20 years lost her fight with breast cancer, more to get an idea of what the world was like for single men these days and to re-start me after losing we.
As my wife's time was coming to a close we talked about my future. She told me she wanted me to meet somebody new. I told her I had no plans and aside, who would want a bald, nerdy, fat almost 50 year old? She told me plenty of women would be fine with me as I have a job, am nice, have a good personality and have all my teeth. I thought she was joking, turns out she wasn't.
I met someone, wasn't looking, just happened. I am now a 49 year old dating a 27 year old, which I sure as hell never expected. She was turned on in part because I am respectful and know how to treat a woman right (I'm well trained). She is kind, likes my children and is ok I am still madly in love, and am still mourning, my late wife (hasn't been a year yet -- my wife knew I wouldn't be single for long). It's not that hard to find someone to be kind and caring to and to receive the same in return. You just need to be a worthy target.
And it's ok if you're not. I was/am ready to spend the rest of my life as a single person. Maybe it's because I'm older now, but I have things I would like to do that doesn't require a companion. Once my children are grown, and assuming my health allowed (I'll be in my mid to late 50s once my nest is empty), I think I will be happy to sell all, retire early and travel in relation to some of my interests. My mother's cousins did that, to an extent. They basically lived in an RV for almost a decade after retirement, before that lifestyle became too tiring FT.
My point is, whether I have someone at my side or not (and I prefer to have someone), my happiness is ultimately in my hands. I will probably always miss my wife and our life, but my happiness is not going to rely on me finding another wife.

I was on board until “recognize your shortcomings”
What the incels don’t realize is what a pain in the ass women are for even the high value man. Shit tests, rejection, invalidation from crazy women, etc.
So by placing the emphasis on guys to improve for women and not themselves, as OP does, he’s still pedalstalizing them. I hate this message behind of what’s posted on this forum.
Truly take them off the pedalstal and stop giving a f*ck what they think of you either way. Recognize and improve upon your short comings for yourself not for any woman, because the bs with women never stops

[deleted] 6y ago
lol dude you actually just typed that out.

TempleOfIron 6y ago
Women can't even solve a crossword puzzle.
An incel lives his life realising his SMV and is envious of chad. But what he does not realise is that the prize aka women aren't really all that worth it. Once you get pussy, you understand its not worth all that effort and life goes on. You realise your legacy matters more. It's that incels are deprived of sex so they literally cannot get to that mindset. So they place more importance on it. Now, an incel that goes postal is psychotic and if it wasnt his lack of sex life it could have been some other trigger later in life.
