I've been browsing trp for about a year now and I have studied and read much of the posts and books that have been suggested. I have really learned a lot and have enjoyed reading most of the material.
But as much as I try to be open minded, there are some books that I didn't enjoy reading. Maybe its because they didn't apply to me or maybe its because I am just too stupid to understand them. Either way here they are:
The Art of War This book had some good points on how war is about deception but most of it, like the parts related to terrain and equipment, were outdated and not relevant to me.
The Charisma Myth This book seems like it was written for women. It had some passages about positive thinking and avoiding responsibility by assigning it to somebody else (ex. God). It was just feel good stuff. In my opinion you can't outsmart charisma, its something that takes a lot of practice and can't be hacked with tricks such as visualization lol.
Think and Grow Rich This whole book is about never giving up. Sure I agree with the message, but its a motivational type book. Not really my thing.
On a better note, I really, really enjoyed the works of Robert Greene, Nassim Nicholas Taleb, Eckhart Tole, Sir John Glubb and Pook. Very refreshing, enlightening and practical stuff.
So TRP, which was your least favourite book(s)?

48 laws The laws are good and true, but you can easily summarize them on three pages. The rest are pretentious fillers. The audiobook is especially bad.

I agree with this he still pedestalized women as "goddesses" in several points in the book which was a let down.

Wow - I loved The Way of the Superior Man almost precisely for it's pretentiousness (and I didn't like Models).
I find it difficult to take action and implement new ideas into my life without an idealistic image of what I'm aiming for conceptualised in my mind.
It's almost like that quote:
I noticed the op enjoyed The Book of Pook and Eckhart Tole, which I think were both a little idealised too, and I also enjoyed.
What did you think of those two books? It'll help give a better idea of which books suit different peoples styles e.g. idealised or realistic, so if a person knows they liked a book with one style they might like another one too.

Rollo's problem is that he doesn't have any real world experience with pickup. He's married and been with the same woman for a long time. He does have a keen eye for the theory and principles, but is definitely lacking in any actionable advice. Heartiste/Roissy is the RP vanguard to go to for actual pickup/game advice.

It didn't used to be like this. Game was a very popular topic on here not more than 6 months ago. The problem is the recent massive influx of angry noobs. In fact, TRP initially grew out of the PUA community, but now there seems to be more game deniers than ever who just read the "AWALT!!!11" posts, rehash jargon for upvotes, and complain about not being attractive enough to get laid. But this isn't the red pill I knew 6-12 months ago.

I disliked No More Mr. Nice Guy, Way of the Superior Man as well as Models.
I just found these books to be very basic after being on TRP with various accounts since it was a birthed. I've tried picking up Models several times due to its high praise but felt the same. I figured it was just better suited for newcomers.

The Mystery Method. Because I read this after all the evo-psych, it seemed a bit stripped down and silly. While it's useful as an entree to the Red Pill, I wouldn't lean on it past the beginner stages.

The Art of Seduction. It doesn't give you a specific "method" but it does outline the fundamental, essential aspects and phases of seduction. So far, all of the "seduction method" books, videos, programs, etc, that I've read can all be seen as mere implementations of the same underlying principles outlined in AoS. In general AoS is kind of a blueprint to build your own method.

I would suggest The Book of Pook. You can find a pdf of it easily by googling it. The Mystery Method and The Game by Neil Strauss are good books if you are interested in reading about the origins of PUA culture but we have come a long way since then.

The Book of Pook is amazing.
I'd also like to recommend the book by 60 Years of Challenge. It's old, but you can still see a nice review by Chateau Heartise.
Someone on a forum once called it "pickup for introverted guys". It's heavy on touching and being normal, without all the social analysis and need for clever lines and crazy energy that original pick systems have. For me, after I read his conceptualisation of this, things just clicked and became easier.
And if you want to see someone putting this type of stuff in action, with videos and even more details, see Good Looking Loser's "Basic Guy Game" and "Screening". He's one of the most real guys doing this that I've seen.
EDIT: With all the analysis on psychology and social interactions from Red Pill, we now only need books that focus on "doing it". We don't need all the "pickup analysis" from older books like Mystery which are suited to certain personalities, instead we need more books which get us taking action and building meeting girls into our lives.

Personally, I think you should use the knowledge over Evo-Psych to peace together something that works for you. That said, if I had to choose, I'd go with Pimp, by Iceberg Slim. Old as the hills, but still works.

This is exactly why I like The Art of Seduction. It basically gives you the underlying "formula" of seduction without imposing his own style. It doesn't have much of the evo-psych spelled out directly, because even while interesting to the theory it's irrelevant in practice. But all of the essential ingredients of seduction are there.

I wouldn't go so far to say that it's irrelevant, because you need the deeper knowledge to understand the tougher cases. But I would agree with your recommendation of Art of Seduction.

I loved that book, but I have a passion for biology and evolution, so that's most likely a big part of it.
Still, for people that find those topics fascinating, I highly recommend it. It does overlap in some interesting ways with TRP.

I found Ekart Tolle's Power of Now to be basically unreadable. I couldn't even follow it - it was nonsensical to me.

I only read the 48 laws. For me it worked the best but i am a man of few goals so it really applied to me. Use the books for what you need.

The Game, by Neil Strauss.
It contained a lot of stories and sometimes a tip or two. but mostly yeah just stories and stories that didn't contain the important "how to" tips. at best it is a history book of PUA. that thing is sold leather bound like a Bible, so I definitely expected way more from it.

If I remember right The Charisma Myth was written by a woman. But the assigning it to someone else type stuff works. It appears to be a watered down form of meditation, one that's easy and doesn't take too much time.
The Art of War is a slow read for me. A better book on strategy to me is Certain to Win. Totally not the same thing but it helps you find the Cheng and Chi in stuff that The Art of War opens you up to.
33 Strategies of War is one that I find very difficult to get through. It's not that I don't learn anything when I read it, I do, it's that I find it very boring.
