Hey everyone, new to this sub. Had a quick question.... I just received a message from a mod at r/offmychest telling me that I was banned from that sub for the sole reason that I was a member of r/theredpill. Is this typical? Has this happened to anyone else? Why is there such disdain for TRP from other subs on this site? Anyways, sorry if this is stupid, just figured I would try to get some info.

[-] dandar4600 41 Points 2 years ago

Yes, there was a thread on TRP about it. Subs frequented by women and white knights are notorious for hating on the red pill. They think we're misogynistic women haters. I don't give a fuck though. I have one account, my wife knows my account and has read my messages and since finding TRP and implementing the self improvement plan we've had more sex in the last 5 months than during the last 10 years of our marriage. So don't worry about it and just improve and don't be afraid to share your opinion. Just phrase it in plugged-in lingo. Some will attack your point by discounting what you said just because you're a red piller. Ignore that and reinforce your point. Just do it in respectful manner. Most subs won't ban you if you're respectful and follow their rules.

I still don't know why they think that. I love bitches

lol, that's great to hear bro, sincerely, Respect

[-] Ibex3D 2 Points 2 years ago

But how can you be getting more sex if you're a virgin neckbeard who doesn't know how to talk to women? Well, at least that's what everyone on 2x told me.

[-] letsstartaflamewar 14 Points 2 years ago

mob mentality and social justice boners.

Reddit gets a self righteous kick out of tearing down anything that goes against the modern leftist feminized narrative. What you stand for challenges their view of the world and themselves, and they will hate you for it.

This is why it's encouraged not to talk about it outside of the TRP subs.

[-] RPmatrix 1 Point 2 years ago

spot on bro! ITT are so many great replies,it please me to see such intelligence and wisdom being shared here around TRP

No wonder they HATE us! There's some quality intercourse occurring here! lol Unlike most of reddit

cheers all

[-] Interversity 2 Points 2 years ago

Quality intercourse, huh? Didn't know there were so many gays on TRP ;)

[-] RPmatrix 1 Point 2 years ago

haha! I wasn't sure if anybody would even read that let alone get my puninshing wordplay! Nice!

[-] dustyterran 12 Points 2 years ago

Make 2 accounts, one for TRP, one for everything else. Quite common amongst the TRP community.

[-] SextonHardcastle11 5 Points 2 years ago

Makes sense. I just don't understand why the hate honestly or why just being part of the group would lead to being banned on other parts of the site.

[-] frenchtoastmilkshake 7 Points 2 years ago

I think it's the same psychology behind most thought policing. The majority of people would rather eradicate opposing viewpoints or histories than co-habitate with them.

That's why we have trigger warnings from the left, certain textbook revisions from the right, and even calls to demo Civil War funerary and veteran memorials. Other examples include efforts to ban Gay-Straight Alliance groups from school, and more mundane internet censorship.

The problem isn't unique to TRP, though TRP certainly suffers, and the problem isn't limited to one ideology or political suasion. People just suck.

[-] tuxedoburrito 0 Points 2 years ago

It's true. In the north we teach that the civil war was fought over slavery, which it was.

In the south it is literally taught in colleges and schools that is was fought over states rights. (Yeah. One right. Right to own slaves).

People just want to block out what makes them think and anything that contradicts their way of life.

[-] Money_Bags97 3 Points 2 years ago

I was taught here in Texas that slavery played a big role but was not the main focus, which was states rights. That the gov put a tariff on southern states and taxed the shit out of them so they rebelled.

[-] Hunter2isit 1 Point 2 years ago

The slavery part was slaves represented some 30-50% of capital, the north's sanctions sought to eliminate that. Read the declaration of secession by mississippi, they spell it out pretty clearly.

[-] tuxedoburrito 1 Point 2 years ago

I agree that it was taught that. I went to school and university in north Texas. It's still centrally fought over the right to own slaves. Slavery is the focal point.

[-] Bortasz 2 Points 2 years ago

This is little complicated mater.
Basically TRP say that we all are Humans. Men can be shitty, women can be shitty.
But current culture leave under WAW Women are Wonderful. So when we contradict this we harming women. So we are bad. So we must be stop to save women.

[-] Metalaggeddon 2 Points 2 years ago

I did this after hearing about trp from a post in r/startup,several months ago.

Definitely saved my ass, as my other account is my business account. If your account is already contaminated, create one for everything else and scrap it. Too little too late.

[-] GunsGermsAndSteel 1 Point 2 years ago

I can see why people would do that, but I don't. Being hated is fine with me.

[-] RemyPrice 4 Points 2 years ago

Probably angry because no guy wants to get off on their chest.

[-] RPmatrix 1 Point 2 years ago

haha yep

[-] M3_Drifter 4 Points 2 years ago

Rule 3:

Angry rants are not allowed.

In a place where you are supposed to let it all out... It's honestly hilarious.

[-] Archwinger 9 Points 2 years ago

I've never read or posted there, nor have I ever gotten a message about it, but one day when a bunch of people were taking about getting banned there, I checked and sure enough, I couldn't post or comment.

Think about the mentality. The mods there don't just police their own sub. They read all over reddit, and any time someone posts here or says something they don't like, they preemptively ban him, just in case that person ever checks out their sub later.

That mentality suits a lot of reddit users. Opinions that are "wrong" should be prohibited.

[-] mikeburnfire 2 Points 2 years ago

Huh. I just checked- I'm similarly banned from posting/commenting on that sub. I've only made 3 comments on this subreddit (and usually just correct somebody's grammar or math) but I guess that's enough to get me banned.

[-] Archwinger 3 Points 2 years ago

The funny part is that they think they're punishing the red pill, because we want to post there really bad, but they showed us how wrong it is to hold our evil anti-female viewpoints by stopping us from enjoying their sub.

They also think they're protecting their loyal following by keeping us out, because they know we're all watching their sub for losers and sluts, all day long, just waiting for a chance to jump in and flood the place with our comments.

[-] edwardhwhite 2 Points 2 years ago

Because they are the type of people that would do that.

[-] adultsareweird 1 Point 2 years ago

I've heard that they actually have a ban-bot and if you post here you'll automatically get banned there eventually.

[-] Archwinger 4 Points 2 years ago

The subs do kind of run at cross purposes.

Off my chest is all about losers, dumbasses, sluts, and other equally admirable segments of the population posting about deplorable things they've done. It's a given that a lot of those deplorable things will involve sex and relationship issues. The posers don't want advice, analysis, or even really any thought put into what they're posting. They just want commiseration from the circlejerk echo chamber that is Reddit.

So pretty much the opposite of The Red Pill. Anybody that might have a thought, opinion, or judgment is generally departing from the purpose of off my chest.

It's not too uncommon for someone to find something interesting or funny there, then post about it here for actual discussion, though.

[-] adultsareweird 3 Points 2 years ago

The posers don't want advice, analysis, or even really any thought put into what they're posting. They just want commiseration

I've been on forums since they became popular, around 15 years ago (chat groups were the thing before then). Several years ago I noticed a difference between male and female advice-seekers. Women would ask for advice, but then only accept the comments of people who validated their already-chosen decision and get quite upset if anyone (always men) said anything that showed her decision in a poor light. It took me a while to realize that they weren't actually asking for advice and only wanted validation, because they would always ask as though they wanted advice.

Men, on the other hand, would ask a question and if the advice was good would often make their decision based on the advice. In all my years on internet forums I can think of maybe one instance where a woman reversed a decision based on logical input from people online. Usually, the better the advice that she got contrary to her pre-chosen decision, the more hurt she'd get and the more other women (and a few white knights) would leap to her defense.

I noticed all this prior to TRP and it made me watch women's actions and ignore what they said, which was one of the biggest lessons I learned in how to communicate with women.

[-] Archwinger 2 Points 2 years ago

It goes beyond logic. You can even make emotional or moral arguments and they'll still fuck around trying to argue with you on behalf of what they've already decided they want.

"Should I cheat on my boyfriend? He says mean things to me sometimes."

"No. Cheating is wrong. Just break up with him first."

"But he's an asshole! He deserves it!"

"If he's an asshole, break up with him. Then have sex with someone better."

"But I don't want to break up with him. I love him!"

"If you love him, don't cheat on him. Maybe try talking to him instead of talking to the internet."

"He's a douchebag. He never listens when I talk. I'm just going to cheat on him."

"You wouldn't like it if he cheated on you. Why would you do that to someone else?"

"He never makes me feel special any more! Did I mention that he sometime says mean things to me?"

"Look, if you're not getting along and you're not happy in the relationship, just end it and find someone better."

"God! You fucking misogynist pigs with your agenda just keep repeating yourselves. We need to ban all of you!"

[-] Desertcoyote99 4 Points 2 years ago

Its actually really funny, everyone always hates on TRP, but on that post the other day telling people to confess things people would hate them for saying, one of the top posts was saying how the red pill is actually right about a lot of things.

Here you go

EDIT: after re reading a lot of the comments, I found a distinctly red pill comment that got about 4x the upvotes, but it didn't use the words "red pill" at all. Interesting.

[-] SextonHardcastle11 1 Point 2 years ago

Thank you. I sent that to the mod asking her if she cared to explain this to me. She has yet to respond.

[-] Desertcoyote99 1 Point 2 years ago

honestly theres no point. really.

its the rep that comes with the sub. better to just ignore it and move on.

[-] SextonHardcastle11 1 Point 2 years ago

Yeah good point. I got sucked into her drama BS and now I feel stupid. Anyways, thanks again.

[-] Desertcoyote99 2 Points 2 years ago

just remember dude, you will NEVER win an argument with a woman outside of the court of justice using logic. i can say from personal experience that its a waste of your time?

does that make you angry? good. it should. use that anger to go work out. put your energy twords things that matter. That's how I see it.

[-] ThrowingMyslfOutther 1 Point 2 years ago

Please, don't hold your breath, lol. Those people don't have to answer to anyone.

[-] SextonHardcastle11 1 Point 2 years ago

Yeah, I quickly realized how moronic that was of me. Oh well.

[-] DrunkenOni 1 Point 2 years ago

There was actually a pretty decent population of RP talk in that thread. All contentious of course but more than you might expect from a mainstream sub. Thing is, a lot of the hate RP gets in other subs is completely based on name value. Same comment goes a lot further if you leave out the name.

[-] Desertcoyote99 1 Point 2 years ago

that was kinda my point.

everyone agrees with red pill theory because its pretty much just basic psychology and biology, however when you use the actual words "red pill", everyone gets all up in arms because that's just how we, as a community are viewed.

Reddit in general

[-] SextonHardcastle11 1 Point 2 years ago

Hahaha awesome

[-] Totsean 3 Points 2 years ago

I wouldn't worry about it, they're SJW's and idiots everywhere, so haters gonna hate.

[-] toss_me_awazer 3 Points 2 years ago

The core tenants of TRP are pretty solid (self improvement, women are different than men, etc.) and most logical people would agree with them outside the TRP-sphere; that's why you see "TRP truths" appear elsewhere on reddit, even on shitty subs like /r/relationships.

However, there are many things that make /r/trp unpalatable to a general audience. Some of the TRP rhetoric is very off-putting; I think that terms like "cock carousel" and "plates" are legitimately offensive. Also, many readers turn to TPR during a phase of anger towards women, which is reflected in their comments, and up voted by individuals in similar positions. This can be similarly off-putting to a non-TRP observer. However, these types of people are the ones who need TRP the most, and the mods here have made clear that they accept that type of attitude/rhetoric.

Most people are exposed to /r/TRP through cherry picked quotes or threads that put /r/TRP in a bad light. It takes more than a casual glance through one thread to understand what /r/TRP is all about.

Honestly, even though I believe in this sub, there are often comments or posts that I read in here that I believe are not universally true, misogynistic, or just plain incorrect.... that despite which get many up votes. However, I've been here a while, and I know what this sub is all about. I agree with the core tenants and know that (generally) the relationship advice from /r/trp and /r/asktrp is superior to anywhere else on reddit. I'm smart enough to ignore the stuff I don't agree with... there are idiots all over reddit.

On top of all that, you've got white knights, losers, and angry women to whom the basic tenants of TRP directly contradict their (incorrect) understanding of life. These people are the worst. But overall, I think it's people who are put off by the rhetoric and cherry picked comments/threads from angry TRP members.

[-] Azzmo 0 Points 2 years ago

I'm smart enough to ignore the stuff I don't agree with

That's the difference between someone intelligent enough to tolerate opinions they disagree with and the flarp darp darp who needs to censor those opinions.

Unfortunately, 80% of the population are the latter. They feel that there is a malignant nature to opinions they do not hold; that corruption through exposure to ideas is to be expected and so those ideas must be extinguished.

If more people steered your course through discussions there would be a population of well-rounded individuals with nuanced opinions. Since the establishment fears this above almost anything else, we are usually raised and educated to believe in a black and white nature of reality. Only a small percentage of people have wise enough people around them to help them be rounded.

Don't worry a out it, /r/offmychest is modded by a group of SRS'ers. No, seriously, check the moderators.

[-] SextonHardcastle11 2 Points 2 years ago

I've been having a conversation with one. It's pathetic....

[-] thenarrrowpath 2 Points 2 years ago

Was it /u/TheYellowRose? Yea that mod is a psychopath. Yellow rose is a white knight to the extreme. My self and countless others have been banned by that asshole. Just know that if you want to reddit in other subs you need to have a separate account.

[-] SextonHardcastle11 1 Point 2 years ago

Yup it sure was.

[-] thenarrrowpath 1 Point 2 years ago

/u/TheYellowRose strikes again! I think she's an overweight African American SJW. The subs she moderates make me believe that.

[-] SextonHardcastle11 1 Point 2 years ago

Yup has to be. We've been talking and she has now threatened to ban me from Reddit completely.

[-] thenarrrowpath 1 Point 2 years ago

If anyone should be banned its her. She's the one whose literally harassing others! What a fucking hypocrite!

[-] Ceemore_Richards 2 Points 2 years ago

We tell the truth. Nothing makes people madder faster.

[-] pinstrap 2 Points 2 years ago

It goes against groupthink. Also, it's a feminists worst nightmare. If women really didn't subconsciously agree with anything set forth by TRP their wouldn't be so much hostility toward this community.

[-] tuxedoburrito 1 Point 2 years ago

That's a great point. I honestly found it because a feminist was complaining about it. Now I read it every day.

[-] ThrowingMyslfOutther 1 Point 2 years ago

And that's why we aren't allowed to post in places like that. Truth is attractive.

[-] Bobwayne17 1 Point 2 years ago

Yeah, I got banned too lol I just have one account for everything and I've had this account for years and years. It wasn't a problem there until recently...I think I've commented on that sub maybe once.

Really, if I want to get something off my chest I have way better communities to reach out to (like this) or you know...friends, family, and co workers. I work in a really 'intense' social work oriented position and I have lots of shit to get off my chest at the end of a rough day. Sometimes seeing the people I help just makes me want to rage out, cry, scream, any negative emotion possible.

Ranting about it to a bunch of people who 100% don't understand doesn't interest me really.

[-] SextonHardcastle11 1 Point 2 years ago

Yeah I honestly don't even remember following the sub or ever commenting there, but I woke up, got on Reddit and was suddenly banned from it. Made no sense. But, fuck it....

[-] throwaway320_ 1 Point 2 years ago

You go against the echochamber that are certain subs, by having TRP ideas.

They don't want you polluting their circlejerk with opposite opinions so they preemptively ban you.

[-] ShitfacedBatman 1 Point 2 years ago

The more unplugged you get, the more things like that won't bother you. Hang out on PurplePillDebate if you want to see what an attempt at honest "RP versus RP-doubters" looks like. (The word "annoying" comes to mind.) After a while you'll want your consumption of news, opinion, and media arrow-straight and with as little cognitive dissonance as possible. Most of the matrix is based on the inability to make decisions and to thread doubt in any decision made.

Mainstream subs have blue pill on in subconscious-mode, so even if they could give you a reasonable explanation as to why you're banned it wouldn't be very well thought-out.

Eventually you'll start to see that blue pillers are the real misogynists after all, and most of their insta-hate toward TRP is projection and their failure to understand women, and failure to understand humanity in general. Hell, they barely try.

[-] Money_Bags97 1 Point 2 years ago

Just checked, I'm banned too lol

[-] SextonHardcastle11 1 Point 2 years ago

It's ridiculous huh?

[-] Money_Bags97 2 Points 2 years ago

Eh, you'll find that /r/theredpill is a much better community than offmychest ever will be. Here we have actual discussions about life and advice. I will warn you though, we don't sugarcoat and tell you what you want to hear, we show the truth and its up to you to do with it what your wish. Hope you stick around!

[-] SextonHardcastle11 1 Point 2 years ago

Shit, that's exactly how I am.. I don't like the social limitations of tact imposed upon my conversations so this sounds like exactly the kind of sub I need. I've been around a bit, heard about it and read about it alot. Ever since I first discovered Patrice O'neal I've really started shifting my ideals over to that of TRP, but I'm just now starting to enter into the discussions. Hope to hear more from you in the future.
