There really is no division except /r/seduction will have lower quality information while subreddit 'theredpill' will not address actual red pill subjects outside of pickup, diet & lifting even though that's like 2% of the actual full red pill which actually includes legal jurisdictions, finance, jobs, immigration, war, the works.

Are you asking about this sub-reddit specifically, or the TRP philosophy/movement in general?

TRP originally grew out of many of the early PUA communities (e.g. SoSauve, which has been around since the late 1990's). The PUAs were the first to notice inherent patterns in modern female behavior, which they utilized of course to maximize their pickup success.

As time went on, some people realized that these inherent patterns ran deeper, and were systemic of both human biology/instincts, as well as modern feminization/emasculation of society. They went beyond simply trying to game the status quo, went deeper down the rabbit hole. The question wasn't simply "what patterns exist and how do I take advantage of them", but moreso the why and philosophy behind it. How changes in gender dynamics over the last century combined with these instinctive patterns of female human behavior were affecting our society at large, producing societal inequities that negatively affect men. And how generations of men are being misled about what being a "man" is about. Put yourself second, pedestalize women, white knight them, etc. And what do they get in return? Denigrated for their masculinity. Denigrated for their male sexuality.

And thus TRP was born.

Out of that grew other concurrent splinter philosophies, things like MGTOW, which are still TRP but with a slightly different take on things. Things that I refer to as the "manosphere" more broadly, and includes MRA which predates TRP of course. It's also important to note that many of the blogs, like Rollo's Rational Male and Return of Kings and some of the early stuff on this subreddit, embodied what I call "game theory", which provided a critical theoretical link between the early PUA communities and TRP theory.

Another thing I'm not seeing noticed yet is that PUA back in the day was very shallow. All the shills were in your ear all the time about how looks didn't matter, about how status, money and social skills didn't matter and how if you learned to "game" effectively you didn't need these things. Cue countless frustrated incels running game 3 nights a week and not getting anywhere (of which I was one, years and years ago). In my mind pook over at sosuave was the first I heard of who spoke from a RP frame: "work on yourself, game is just a means to teach you to be a man etc etc etc", but I know Rollo was active there aswell. It was a paradigm shift more than a single defining event.

At the end of the day, you're always going to get the people who need to know "why", not just "what". TRP is a product of these minds collaborating since the early PUA days.

Seddit was full with women (bad advice) and people who pointed out when you wrote something politically incorrect and all advice essentially was feel good bullshit. People needed something hard and unforgiving, something that just valued success and thus truth no matter how uncomfortable was born.

it wasan evolution, not a revolution, but as I understand it men from all over the world were contributing to various forums and eventually found the "formula" to reconnect to their masculinity, symbolicly named red pill in reference to unplugging from the gynocentric frame of society.
