I'm naturally an artsy introverted dude. I'm learning jazz guitar (main hobby) and how to draw (secondary hobby, for future architecture career)
Been thinking about starting muay thai or BJJ.
I lift. I've quit gaming, porn and masturbation.
I have no real male (or female friends)

Right now I feel like an overprotected, soy-boy beta bitch incel right now and it sucks massive dick.
Wanting to become a man. Give me some missions.

Don't think that being artsy is a drawback. Chicks love guys with skill, and many love musicians. Own it, and take those hobbies seriously. Being artsy is great, just do it like a man. Do it with a purpose.
Muay thai or BJJ will help connect you to your masculine, give you balance with the arts, and just another thing to improve.
You'll get friends through martial arts.
Work towards to architect thing, that's cool.
Keep pushing. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Give yourself a good start.

I cannot give you a mission. Nobody else than you can.
Keep lifting and start BJJ. That will help with friends and open up a new world of perspectives and opportunities. It gave me a whole new career (two actually) and circle of friends at the tender age of 38.
Nothing wrong with being an artist. Set goals to reach. Short-term, mid-term and long-term. The long-term goal should look unreachable from your current point of view (i.e. I want to be the architect of the biggest bridge the world has built or something like that). Then determine what would be important milestones to reach (i. E. get a degree in architecture). Then find out what you can do right now to work towards these milestones and start right away.
Your goals will not be set in stone and are subject to change anyways. Your mission always is something organic.
As you progress, new opportunities will present themselves and will open up perspectives you have never even considered.

It seems like your self reflecting really well and aren't afraid to see your shortcomings, so that's a good step. I would suggest keeping your hobbies as just that, your hobbies. I think you should definitely work out and learn a martial art. But aside from that, try to build a career. Try to find something you like to do but is also employable and makes a good amount of money or at least a decent amount of money. This is a mission I think you should take and will be the focus of your life. Try to find the perfect intersection of what you enjoy but is also realistic in terms of providing (financially) the type of life you want to live.

Artistic types get laid all the time. If that's who you are, play up to that. Be awesome and passionate at what you do and the pussy will follow.
You did not mention a lifting program. Right now the very best thing you can do to become more masculine is get on a lifting program. Start out with SL 5x5 or Starting Strength. ("I lift" generally means that you're fucking around in the gym. I know. I have been there).
Stop thinking, start doing. You're welcome.

Seems like you have already a mission: jazz.
Being a man is not being a masculine cliché, it's about becoming good at what you like. Any mission is a good mission, as long as it carries you forward, in the direction where you want to go.

Low carb if you want to feel more masculine. Don't trust me, just try it

Lol Porn and masturbation have their place in life, as long as you find a balance. I personally would not recommend stoppiong that, monk mode advocates are really strong in their convictions, but I have my doubts. I would work on keeping your own core values during all your interactions, work on stoicism and keep lifting. Find hobbies you enjoy, not that seem masculine. I've been getting laid for years, while one of my hobbies is badminton. Fuck it, own it.
Frame and masculinity in the end comes down to:Fuck it, own it and be unapologetic about it.
Being musician and creative is the easiest way perhaps to get laid..

Internalize the sidebar and top TRP posts. It will take a time.
From other side, if you really quit masturbation than it should be fast to find opportunities to discharge sexual tension.

I'm a filmer/photographer and my entire career is based on being "artsy". Women love it and it instantly gives me social status when I start talking about the projects I'm doing or people see my work.
resnine 5y ago
At least you realize it and are working towards a change.
I've met masculine artsy guys. But very few of them. The majority of artsy guys are as beta as they come, almost like they are actual women.... They are low on the SMV hierarchy. Very few women are attracted to these deeply emotional artsy/poetry-writing types. Something about art just makes men beta. The introverted artsy, emotional, poet type seems to do very poorly with women. They also seem prone to loneliness, depression, and just generally being weird/strange people. Lone wolf-types, social outcasts... You don't want to be that lonely artsy beta man wearing his dirty beta hipster clothes drinking his coffee writing his inceldom/loserdom poetry.

Nothing wrong with gaming and porn so long as there's a balance.
If gaming is a hobby you really love, then keep it. Back in college I thought it was a nerdy hobby and stopped for a few years, thinking it'd make me cool and get laid. It didn't do shit.
Getting in shape and getting out there did, though.
I'd caution learning Muay Thai or BJJ because you want to become more masculine. Unless you really want to learn it, it's rough on the body and not something you dabble in.
People are attracted to others who are passionate about their favorite things, and are good at them.
Musicians and artists have it especially easy because they actually create something. Their skill requires talent that most people don't have.

Martial arts are a meme and try hard, and this post sounds like you are prepared to become something you are not - putting on the mask of an alpha won't make it so.
Women will smell your act a mile away and people will see yourself as a pretender.
Just be who you are and do what you are interested in
its4thecatlol 5y ago
A man can smell your act through reddit. Have you ever done any martial arts? It's one of the most positive things a man can do for himself. period.
