Never going back to being 350lbs
FatmanO 5y ago
220lbs for me
embracingtheredpill 5y ago
That's a good one. My highest was 291. You look in the mirror, and no matter how much you touch your two soft abs, the rest of everything below that in perfect hourglass figure, fat jutting out like it has nowhere else to go, running out of space, legs that have never known non-buffer, things break when you sit on them, stairs are a problem. No thanks.
vullnet123 5y ago
I remember the sofa I broke because I sat down too fast. Won't happen again lol
IncommutableOwl 5y ago
I’m with you there. Took a couple of years but I’m 195 now. Working on mobility/strength to make up for lost time not lifting when I first started dropping weight.
embracingtheredpill 5y ago
Is that a huge problem for you?
IncommutableOwl 5y ago
The strength is just for personal goals. Mobility was always an issue. I was stiff as a big guy so now that I’m leaner I want to be more flexible and it’ll help my lifts.

Never going back to 120 lbs for me
Captain_Quick 5y ago
How did you get to that point? What were your habits as far as food and exercise and what sort of changes did you make to get away from that? I'm sort of in that place myself right now, and it seems there isn't much advice out there for lightweights like me. Right now I'm about 5' 11" and 125 lbs, at 22 years old.
ChadTheWaiter100 5y ago
I used to be pretty weak. Started lifting in hs and began climbing up from there.
Yugert 5y ago
Hard gainer here. I’m 6’2”, 21 years old and was about 140 for years until a few months ago. After experimenting and working at it for a while, now I’m sitting at almost 170. I’ve still got a ways to go, but the progress is great. The best advice I can give you, is just don’t stop lifting, and don’t stop eating. As far as lifting and working out, the important thing is strength training. Don’t do any cardio, or your metabolism will just eat up all your calories and you won’t put on weight. I’ve heard that high weight low reps works best, but from experience the workouts that make me the most sore are sets going from 50 reps to 40, 30, 20 10, starting low and increasing weight every time. You should just barely be able to finish each set. Another good one is adding in negatives to your sets at the lower rep range, look that one up. As far as eating l used to try to eat giant meals all the time to the point I felt like throwing up, and then I would stay full all day and wouldn’t get as many calories as I needed. Don’t do that. The best thing is eat a lot of smaller meals throughout the day, and it will make sure your body always has fuel and doesn’t start eating your gains. I usually shoot for like 5 meals spread out every 3 hours or so while I’m awake. Shoot for like 500 calories worth of hard food for meals, and avoid foods that are filling but low calorie. You’re skinny, so you don’t need to worry about fat. You can add a bunch of calories by drinking a ton of whole milk with each meal. You can add like 500 calories of milk to every meal easy without making yourself too full to eat again in a few hours. Another thing to stay motivated is to take progress pictures every couple weeks. My first months progress pictures blew my mind and whenever I felt too lazy to work out, or felt like skipping a meal that would motivate me.
Hope this helps.
innibinni 5y ago
Hard gainer as well. Drinking calories helps get more in without feeling it as much. I make a giant smoothie with gainer, pb, banana, avocado, oats and shit and i get hungry again about 3 hours later (starving). Then make sure to overshoot with the weight op cause your body’s tendency will be to go down in weight
rockyp32 5y ago
A lot of the muscle u gain from that will be sarcobalskhdkhbd I can’t remember muscles which will fade away quickly if you don’t lift for a few weeks it’s best to do compound lifts in the 8-12 rep range
Yugert 5y ago
First: Why would you stop lifting for a few weeks?
Second: It’s personal experience, I’ve experimented and tried all that stuff, I’m just saying what worked for me.
Third: If you just do the same 4 exercises at the same rep scheme every time, your muscles just get used to it and you plateau. I’ve found I see the most progress when I keep mixing things up
And finally, I agree about the compound lifts, I never said don’t do them, just do other things too and mix up rep schemes, add negatives, do whatever you need to to keep getting gains.
rockyp32 5y ago
Im just saying lift heavier you can do the same routine but as long as you add weight or do another rep your still getting progressive overload
Yugert 5y ago
I’ve found that making sure I have a lot of time under tension gives me a better workout. Not saying your way is wrong; I just think it’s important for everyone to experiment at least a little, find what’s best for them, and go from there.
rockyp32 5y ago
im juust saying there is certain ways of lifting to where you can only get so far you could be the same size but much storenger if you just did heavy weights in lower reps. higher reps does provide gains but not nearly as qwell as heavy weights just look up light weights vs light weights

At first it was to prove the oneitis who essentially told me "You're lucky if you ever get a girlfriend with a face like that." wrong. As she talked to me about tips to get with another dude.... My beta bitch feelings were mercilessly crushed like an insignificant ant in front of her.

This was 10 months ago. Haven't spoken to her since.
Have I banged any chicks at all. No.
Do I still think about her. All the time.
Do I want to bang chicks... I don't know any more.

I've become obsessed with lifting. It's all I care about anymore. The girls I match with on tinder and go on dates with are nice. But I can never seem to get past my oneitis and fail to screw them. I am sad.
People often comment on how big I've gotten and the stares I've gotten from women are nice, but I'm afraid of women. I hate that I'm frustrated by my fear. My fear stems from insecurity about my cystic acne scars around my upper chest and back, my penis size, my race, my face, my breath, and other things. I am a walking ball of insecurity.

My motivation is to get past my insecurities and move on.

Being sober. Every day wake up with a purpose.
Get the house in order (clean and organize).
Get my body in order (work out, focus on areas, find areas you aren't working). Read lots of non fiction. From religious to power to seduction (form of power). Maintain positive relationships. Maintain frame in negative ones - don't let their b.s. affect your joy. Writing in a journal to monitor progress. See a negative cycle, something is wrong. Keep fatigue down. Rest as often as your mind tells you.
Breathe. Read. Live. Write.

I have never really lived and progression of my illness pushed me onto looking for a cure, then I stumbled upon TRP coincidentally when my doctor said I can lift.
So her I am in 10 year old LTR with abusive partner.
I am going to stay in for now, to work on my body, assertiveness and the game.
People said discovering TRP whilst in LTR is like a golden ticket, where you have a way to practice and nothing to lose.

Not happy with how things are
embracingtheredpill 5y ago
Yeah. A supreme dissatisfaction with the quality of my otherwise stable and "satisfying" life. Am I ok with this? Is this who I want to be? Is this the life the life I want to live, that I'm ok with living? No.
Nighthawkdragon8 5y ago
This is coming from a place of scarcity and desperation as opposed to already feeling enough and happy and simply being inspired to engage with life. You're training your mind to say "I will be happy when'" which can help you grind for a few months and maybe years, but will not be sustainable in the long run.
jaznex 5y ago
mhmm, so you living your life not being happy with who you are, will make you happy? if yes then when? what if you will search forever and ever?
RedMarduck 5y ago
Jordan Peterson explained it pretty well in one of his Biblical Stories videos, basically what he stated was that from a psychological point of view what makes a human happy is setting a goal and watching himself progress towards that goal and the actual achievement of it only grants a temporary high.
KORB4311 5y ago
Exactly. Tangible, measurable progress toward a perceived goal is responsible for large majority of the positive emotion you’ll experience in your lifetime.
jaznex 5y ago
that's right but there is no need of negative emotions in order to help achieve the goal faster.
KORB4311 5y ago
That’s not true, negative emotions give you a “hell” to run away from. Positive emotions give you a “heaven” to run toward. Since we’re using biblical terms.
jaznex 5y ago
so in a way i should go prostitute myself for coke?
why not finf a smooth road to improvement without waisting precious time from my life being miserable in order to feel good
KORB4311 5y ago
You’re not getting the point. No, emotion and action are not the same. The negative emotion from the thought (not an action) of having to “prostitute myself for coke” should be the driver AWAY from the choices (actions) leading to that situation. Positive emotion would result from choices leading TOWARD a desired outcome.
Negative emotion pushes you away from an undesirable outcome.
Positive emotion pulls you towards a desired outcome.
Emotion and action are entirely separate concepts. Women act according to their emotions I’m under the assumption you are not a women and can differentiate between how you feel and how you should act.
jaznex 5y ago
i see
rockyp32 5y ago
But I feel like that doesn’t make sense in evolutionary terms. Caveman in sure didn’t set goals often but I’m sure they were happy
KORB4311 5y ago
Sure they set goals, the goal of the hunt is to bring home food. Positive emotion results from taking the necessary steps to successfully kill an animal thus achieving said goal. Negative emotion would have been present simultaneously in the fear of their children starving to death if they fail.
This isn’t a very complicated concept.

Curiosity, regret minimization and the journey itself.
I’m not far on my journey, but I’ve been a miserable fucking loser for long enough. I know what it’s like, I know what it has to offer, and it ain’t pretty. I don’t want to be the dude in my 40s lamenting that if I’d have just got my shit together in the past (now), my life could have been so much better. Instead I have to watch from the sideline.
What can life be like though, if I really grab it by the nuts, squeeze and twist. That’s what I wanna know. I want to leave it all on the field and see where that gets me.
Theguygotgame777 5y ago
I simply like myself better when I'm actually doing something. I'm a junkie for the several minutes after the workout when I'm feeling the testosterone boost, and seeing my muscles better defined in the mirror. I love updating my followers on social media whenever I publish the next chapter of my novel. (Speaking of which, you can read it at wattpad.com/lordlysander7776!)
How are porn and video games supposed to compare with that?
Besides, I want to model my life on that of Christ's as closely as possible. I'm not sure how to reconcile the church's position on pre-marital sex with my RP knowledge of marriage, but I'll find a way.
Nighthawkdragon8 5y ago
You should not be coming from a place of unhappiness. You need to let go of and process negative emotions, in order to come from a place of inspiration as opposed to fake desperation.

Are you fucking kidding me? Your reason for improving yourself is because you’re scared a woman will leave you for a more qualified man?
I don’t think I’ve ever read a more blue pilled thing so upvoted on this sub.
If your motivation has anything to do with women other than using them as fuck toys, you’re going to lose 9 times out of 10.
KidWonder101 5y ago
You're both right. It's nothing wrong with wanting to have sex with the best looking women in the world.
However, if you want to have that privilege. You should assure yourself that you'll either have to work for it or you already inherited it genetically/fiscally.
You should still at the end of day, do shit for primarily YOURSELF. However, women chase men who chase money/self-development.
damptowel-_- 5y ago

prankster999 5y ago
Freud said I think: we improve to be great, and to bang women.
Napoleon Hill said we become rich under the influence of the right woman. Transmutation...
UsernameIWontRegret 5y ago
That’s completely against Red Pill philosophy. YOU ARE NOT WORKING FOR THE APPROVAL OF WOMEN. That is a side effect, not the goal, and should not be the primary thing motivating you because then you are just submitting to the feminine frame by saying everything you do is for women. It’s more blue pulled than being a fucking orbiter.
Holy fuck you new guys have a lot to learn.
Edit: the goal is to escape the burden of performance. Not submit to it. By making your motivation the innate fear that your woman will leave you is fucking pathetic.
Pluglord 5y ago

xddm2653 5y ago
All he said was "hypergamy"
Maybe he meant the Male version where you get your pick of any woman? I dont think he implied anything fear or even relationship based
AllAboardTheTren 5y ago
I think it’s okay to start out that way, I did. But eventually it should evolve to doing it for yourself which is where I’m at now.
xddm2653 5y ago
Sure. But the primary motivation for a lot of guys will always be women, history has shown us that.
For example, if you were the last person on earth success wouldn't matter (meaning you do it to impress other people) and I'm sure many wouldnt work out either.
INNASKILLZ2K18 5y ago
You're always working on improving, or falling back to the 'old self'. There is no middle ground.
So if it's a choice between improvement or falling off...then always improvement.

Personal experience, data collection. If I could time travel and talk to 25 year old me and tell him to stop being a drunk, get quality sleep and wake up at 5 am every day to hit the gym before work he'd look at me like I was a fucking psycho. I started more red and with a higher SMV than many who come here (already tall, white, affluent, regularly lifted, college athlete, faired decent with chicks, interesting hobbies, etc.). So without coming into excessive money, doing roids, or other notable events occurring that can’t really be accounted for, I didn’t really have the opportunity for incredibly fast tracked improvement the way many on this sub have and do. But even still, I’ve put my nose down and worked hard across many aspects in my life and have gained a varying amount in every one. And even though some were marginal, I have still noticed and greatly enjoyed the effects of improving further and ultimately striving for my version of perfection. My meh six pack turned into a vascular washboard, my social circle diversified/expanded even more and with it came more opportunities in women as well as other areas, and my work and education both received definitive upticks in performance. The entire process has made me realize two key concepts that everyone should ultimately understand. The first is that the grind will never stop, and acknowledging this is only to your benefit, and to not stay the course will ultimately lead to failure of respective goals and a sense unfulfillment. The second is that you can never stop improving, and in turn reaping the benefits of continued improvement. You’re making 75 a year? Learn a new skill that makes you invaluable and successfully attain 6 figures annual. You’re banging 7’s all the time? Lift harder, diet better, get even more shredded and bang 8’s. I almost envy those who start low, because the process of going from subjective ground to ceiling, particularly when you recognize how fast it can come from lower starting points, is assuredly rewarding. But essentially I’ve noticed what self improvement has already done for me, and I will continue to improve to the best of my abilities to maintain and increase this positive repercussion loop.

Only made it 4 years 8 months & 19 days without having a second major surgery from the first one. I’m angry at myself for letting myself get into the state of needing a second surgery. I have a fear of getting a third surgery. I have a desire to not have a surgery in the next 10 years. And I have the chance to rebuild myself after the second surgery to be in the physical health (primarily) that I want to be at. Started a Tony Robbins book and it’s given me insights on achieving my goals better. Meanwhile, as my physical health improves I can improve the other aspects of my own life.

Poverty mostly. Grew up poor and black but went to school in an upper middle class white neighborhood in the northeast. Was a great student and athlete but that didn’t matter because my single mom couldn’t afford Abercrombie & Fitch and my “friends” never let me forget it. I’ve been extremely money driven ever since.
Nightwingx7 5y ago
Hurts to talk about, but being an overweight neet who smoked weed everyday then when my dog became ill i couldn’t afford his treatment and ended up having to put him down because I failed him and myself. I hated myself for a long time. I don’t want to experience that same feeling with my parents or other living loved ones. I want to make something of myself; I have goals. I don’t want to experience that self induced powerlessness again where I have to witness suffering because I failed. It drives me every day. Some people say oh it’s just a dog or it’s not your fault, but all of that is wrong. He was like a son to me; I took him everywhere across the country went on hikes he was my life partner, closer to me than any woman could be and I failed him. I will never let that happen again. I’ve been clean since he died which is three years in November. I’m still not where I want to be, but I’m getting there. Was 17% bf in 2017 and now I’m 12%. Id like to get around 8-10 and maintain that. Used to be bigger and I don’t want to live that life anymore. My novel and my health is all that matters anymore.

This is going to sound egotistical but fuck it, I know I have a lot of potential to do well in life. But I let distractions get the better of me. There are a lot of stupid fucks in this world that have things they don't deserve. And that is not me being bitter, that is straight facts.
I quit smoking weed which is massive for me, I just need to push myself more because I get too content very easy lol. And also because the people I thought was going to do well in life really aren't doing shit and I think some of them stopped talking to me because they can see I have potential and they don't.

I just need to meet the right people I guess.
D-man324 5y ago

fartingaround 5y ago
What has changed since you quit weed? I want to quit
billybetasnan 5y ago
I just feel more alive man, I just feel like I lost complete interest in weed, I have no intentions to start smoking again. It's a costly habit as well. If you want to quit and it's affecting your daily life go for it. I'm a loner so I don't have influences. If you're hanging around people that smoke, you'll have to distance yourself from them for a while. Or just find a new circle that doesn't smoke. What makes you feel like you can't quit?
fartingaround 5y ago
Ive taken extended breaks before but always come back with a vengance. I keep telling myself im gonna stop but i dont, so that leads me to believe im addicted. Also ive been a slow mofo lately and i gotta tigten it up and i know it
DerpJungler 5y ago
Never lose your frame.
I smoke a small joint before bed for a while now, but when i smoke i try to do something productive in order to not let my self loose. Usually i listen/write music, or read books, instead of watching Netflix or playing video games, for example. Honestly, reading books while high for like half an hour before bed is really helpful and helps me keep my frame, which is productivity, knowledge and staying on my purpose.
Weed affects you as much as you let it. Don't let it control you, you can keep it in your life but gain control over it. Decrease it's frequency/volume and be productive when you do it, that's my advice.

I see life as constant self improvement. I wish I knew what I know now 25 years ago but I didn't so I could only make the next 25, or more, years better. I love reading a new book and learning something new, or hitting a new PR in my squat or deadlift. I love stepping on the scale and in front of the mirror and seeing a leaner, stronger person. I like the wisdom that comes with age and the lack of patience that I've gotten for BS. I love passing that wisdom down to younger dudes and telling them to focus on lifting heavy, eating better, bettering yourself, getting an education, moving up on your career, focusing on yourself and better things will come.

Opioidus 5y ago
For a lot of us it's a pathological progression in our psychological and social development as millennials who were victims of our parents hedonism. We realized, at a deep level of consciousness, that pursuing pleasure as the highest goal in life is not a feasible longterm strategy.
So rampant hedonism gets replaced by obsessive self improvement. Part of the reason why people like Peterson are so popular.
professor_mcamateur 5y ago
how do you conclude that millenials' parents are hedonists?
seems like millenials grow into hedonism either for lack of supervision and guidance, or as a rebellion from "helicopter parenting."
and isn't there always a part of the population that is more prone to alcoholism (or hedonism in general) i.e. why do you make the generational connection?
Opioidus 5y ago
Boomers were the generation of hippies and free love advocates and "sexual revolutionaries", they lived as immortals do, never preparing the world for their own passing. They elevated the pursuit of selfish momentary desires to the level of religious dogma, and throughly destroyed the healthy, functioning society they had inherited. They broke down every aspect of the traditions handed to them from the down of man up until their births and decided to conduct an experiment to see if everything that had been rejected as evil, forbidden and harmful is really as such or not firsthand. The greatest failure in human history ensued.
They divorced their husbands in record numbers because "I love him I'm just not in love with him", they murdered hundreds of millions of unborn children because of mere convenience, they were cowardly and weak, so much so that they couldn't tolerate their child's tears or sadness and decided to give everyone participation trophies. They were scared of their wives nagging so they surrendered their children to them, and completely ruined an entire generation as a result.
Millenials had to pay for all of this. They had to go through this failed experiment all by their lonesome. They understood the dear price of divorce, and the damage it does to children. Celebrating divorce as a sign of female empowerment, which was a tenet of 60s, 70s and 80s feminism, is one of the main reasons as to why this movement has become so massively unpopular. If you grew up in a broken home you could no longer support or advocate many of the delusion that boomers and GenXers had.
We live in the ruins of the world they destroyed. Today we all know exactly why it's a bad idea to raise your daughters like princesses, why it's a bad idea to smother your sons, why it's a bad idea to keep retreating in front of your nagging wife, why it's a bad idea to pick the easy option, why it's a bad idea to engage in endless pleasure with no regard for later. A man who has lived with a mom who got pregnant at 17 knows why it's a bad idea to encourage teenagers to have sex, a man who never learned how to swim, drive a manual, change a tire, handle a gun, use a screw and stand up for himself knows why it's a bad idea for a father to abandon his family to go live with his hot 25 year old secretary.
Millenials are the first generation to wake up to the realities of this world. We rediscovered old truths, truths that had been forgotten by our fathers and grandfathers, because we had to. Of course a majority of millenials have yet to wake up as well, but even on an instinctive level they crave goodness and reject hedonism. There is a ridiculous leftist TV show about a lesbian couple adopting kids and raising them, they're strict, disciplined, have a strong moral compass, enforce the rules and support their children in every way to help them grow. Everything that would have been vilified by the "I'm my kid's friend" generation.

Blissful dissatisfaction. I'm happy and grateful for all that I have in my life - but I'm never satisfied. Always striving to continue growing physically, emotionally, professionally, intimately, financially, spiritually and so on...

Not wanting to go back to wanting to kill myself.
I still have a healthy flirtation with the call to the void, but it is no longer at a point where if certain sucky criteria were met and a few things holding me back had passed (Endgame comes to mind) I would have gone through. I hated this world so much, not because of hypergamy or my terrible ex or getting laid, but just because there so many shitty people in this world and I didn’t think I had the power to change any of that. I now know that I should only care about my happiness and to live to improve myself and to enjoy life in the moment.
