Right now I am recovering from a big surgery that puts me to bed for 2-3 more weeks.
No gym, can't eat properly and university starts in 2 weeks. I'm focusing on recovering obviously, but i can't/don't want to sleep 24/7, so I do read books but do you guys have any other ideas on what I could do to pass time?

Have access to a phone or computer at all? Maybe learn how to code? That's very practical and in demand skill.

shuffle cards.

I actually would learn card tricks since they are a neat way to increase your position in a social circle especially if you have a decent SMV.

-Workout theory (Athleanx vids)
-Video lectures of your university project
-Work on your hand grip strength
-Listen to audiobooks
-Reread the sidebar and related reading

-Write lists of shit to do when you get up and about again that will drive you onward

Thank you so much for your answer! I've set up a proper nutrition plan with budgeting and a fitness plan already. Can't wait to get started as soon as my surgeon gives me the go.
I've bought a few books since then, however I didn't feel mentally fit enough to read lately.. hope that fixes itself as soon as i can eat properly again.

Hi mate, how's it going? Can we get a progress update?
mxrtenxx 5y ago
Sure, thanks for asking! Not sure if you're asking about the jaw surgery or my general/mental recovery process so I'll just go over both.
As for my Jaw Surgery, It's one more month until I'm officially healed but I feel pretty normal again apart from a lisp that i now have. This is the only thing bothering me and keeping me from being social lately, however I still try to maintain the more important contacts in my life.

I've been able to chew soft food lately (noodles, rice and very soft meat) and after losing a around 15kg due to not being able to eat, I finally gained a few kilograms back. Went back to the gym for the first time in 2 months on Monday (was extremely exhausting so I'll go a bit slow at that), and I was able to be more focused on things again. Also the semester started and now I am officially studying computer science, all of this made me decide to start "monk mode" again, so I'll focus on university/gym/ and a side project of mine for now. Also I've bought a bunch of books from this dude at my uni who is into personal development for 10 euros, it has a few gems like How to find friends and influence people, no more mr nice guy , so I'll keep myself busy.
If you have any questions feel free to PM me

Cool! I had/have a bit of a lisp - not sure if I've mostly grown out of it or just adapted my speech to cover it but it's much less obvious now I'm late 20s. I used to be self conscious of it but a few girls I dated back when I was 17/18 actually liked it apparently.
Sounds like you're well on track - keep growing and improving - good luck!
