Don’t get motivated. Get disciplined.
Motivation comes and goes with moods, life changes, etc. Discipline stays with you for life.
Get up early. Go lift. Eat healthy. Organize your room every morning. Keep your living place spotless.
These are essentials and the discipline you learn from these things will make doing other things easier, as you don’t need motivation for them. You already deveopee discipline in all aspects of life

Don't wait for motivation. Set a goal and start working towards it.

You just do it, working on motivation solely to progress is useless.
You WILL have bad days, you WILL have days that you'll say to yourself "maybe i shouldn't today, i'm not feeling it". But you know you'll beat yourself up for it later if you don't.
It's all about discipline. You're having a bad day? You go lifting anyway, you really can't? Do half a workout. Compromise. But don't stop....
Realize(maybe through writing or something) what you're working toward and make that progress visible. Nothing motivates more than seeing you're doing good work.
For me for instance I'm lifting and trying to gain weight. I've got an app that measures my caloric intake. This week I reached the minimum I set for myself every singe day. Sometimes I was on the verge of puking.
But seeing that I only needed to eat X amount of cals/carbs/prot/fats is what kept me going.
That was discipline. I didn't want to, my body didn't really want to, but I ate anyway. And now that I look back at that week i go "well done you did it"

Take a good look at the mirror and slap yourself in the face, then take a cold shower. That’s how you can create motivation, but you have to know that discipline is a good tool you should always rely on. So use your discipline to do the shit you need to do, and in 3 months (could be way less) you’ll start to feel motivation towards the gains (Getting to do anal with a girl, being finally able to do 40 push ups in a row, getting these new flashy shoes you worked so hard to get. Use discipline like it’s the only thing that matters, set objectives to motivate you to be disciplined, and in the meantime be that crazy scientist looking to better his motivation through any means (Having no motivation makes it harder to be disciplined, this is why people with 0 motivation are in this vicious circle of ony being able to use discipline. You won’t have choice but to better your discipline.). Here are some things you can do : Take supplements or antidepressants if you’re in depression, eat a strict diet with one cheat meal a week, do a sport you like at least 5 times a week, take cold showers, limit masturbation to one time a week and limit porn, eat a heavy breakfast, use REBT (google it) to shut down recurring negative talks, fix goals to be obsessed with, remove toxic motherfuckers from your life, go outside everyday even if it’s just for a walk, wake up at the same hours, and I swear you will start to feel some changes. Your thoughts define your actions, dismiss the negative thoughts, deconstruct these motherfuckers like they aint shit (because most of negatives talks are irrational) and hug the suffering until it brings you happiness, like that last abs plank that concludes your boxing class before you fall on the floor all sweaty at the end of it feeling fantastic because you did your very best. You have to remind yourself that you WILL be fucking garbage at the things you want to do at first. Life’s a game, everything requires skill, not everyone was gifted with talent.

Any other tips on developing motivation?

Check your testosterone levels and find a doctor that will give you testosterone if its under average, fuck women, take walks, eat shit that boosts testosterone, become crazy obsessed about a fighting sport and aim at competition, all shit that will, sadly, require discipline at first. Developing your Motivation should be your second goal and its gonna need you to develop your discipline. You will have to make with your lethargic state until it heals by the changea you make. I also heard microdosing magic mushrooms was great for a lack of motivation, but I didnt test it yet (about to). I’m also taking Tianeptine, an antidepressant that reduces greatly anxiety and make you feel normal instead of sad all the time (I self-prescribed and ordered online because my doctor wont give me meds, I’ve had depression since my childhood and I suspect I might also suffer from Dysthimia). Here’s a trick that works for me : Everytime I have to do something I dont wanna do, I tell myself “All I have to do is “...” and I win”
“All I have to do is get on this bus and I will not miss work and therefore win”
“All I have to do is get out of bed and I win”
“All I have to do is start doing my pushups and I win”
Most of the shit you start you’ll probably end them. Think of your negative thoughts as cons artists trying to scam you into ruining your progress (hamster)
