Most men at age 35 have spent years building up their career and capital. Wealth/career is a big part of a man's SMV.
Also, men still look pretty decent at age 35. While his physical peak is probably earlier in life, a man's looks/attractiveness will only have diminished marginally compared to post-wall women.
So generally speaking, at age 35, men have much more money and retain most of their looks/attractiveness (provided they keep taking care of themselves). They also have more experience in life (maybe even with women) and this will show.

Additionally, relative to most other men in the same age bracket, staying in good shape raises your SMV dramatically. More so than when you're 18 where most young men don't have beer bellies or dad bods.
Lift. Always lift.

Although your main point is valid, your introduction to it is wrong. It's not "additionally". Quite the contrary, men at 35 don't have higher SMV because "Additionally, relative to most other men in the same age bracket, staying in good shape raises your SMV dramatically."
SMV peaking at 35 is not a question of "relative to most other men". It's a general statement.
Your argument should rather be:
The only decrease in men's SMV in their late 30s compared to their 20s is their looks. Ageing men obviously tend to lose shape (beer bellies or dad bods).
Luckily, this issue is fixable with healthy diet and exercise.
So an individual man's SMV peaking at 35 is dependent on him staying in shape.
Lift. Always lift.

You're correct, but ones SMV is always relative to the rest of the market, in this case the other men of your age class.
While the peak, like you mentioned, has to do with wealth and experience, the lacking of other men will make your SMV higher.
Auvergnat 7y ago
Yes. And that is the only issue with Rollo's chart. It only shows one average man's objective SMV evolution through his life, all things being equal. And then individual experience may differ, especially since men's SMV is contextual.
The same applies to women's SMV curve: some hit the wall later than the curve indicate, some never become 10s because they're fat, etc.

Well, I can tell you I'm past 35 and everything gets better - better looking women hit on you, you have money and success, honestly life is far more fun now than when I was younger and didn't know WTF I was doing.

Money, achievement, and pride alone don't make you more confident with women. I've met plenty of wealthy high achievers who aren't.
The best ways to have more confidence with women are (1) get rejected enough to realize it is all a numbers game and that rejection itself doesn't hurt you (2) spin multiple plates for a period of time. I cannot stress enough how much that will boost your outcome independence and abundance mentality, which is like catnip for women. Being really successful will help with this, and obviously provide massive benefit to you outside of women.
Spinning plates doesn't take that much time and is honestly much less time consuming, draining, and costly than having one "full time" girlfriend who is constantly demanding attention, but is obviously more difficult to accomplish until you have gained some to doing it.

Easily observed in the real world.
Think of every succesful male actor in the past 5 years, how many are younger than 30? Jake Gyllenhaal (35), Chris Hemsworth (32), Ryan Gosling (35), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (35), Bradley Cooper (41), Michael Fassbender (39), Chris Pratt (37), Ryan Reynolds (39), Henry Cavill (33), Channing Tatum (36).
Looking at Chris Pratt in particular, here's him in [2010] (http://i.imgur.com/YM3XRQa.jpg) and in 2015.

Old enough to have achieved something. Old enough to have the experience to deal with female bullshit but not yet so old as to be out of physical prime if looking after themselves.
Old enough to not be seen as young immature, not too old to sleep with 20 year olds.
Remember men accrue value through work and experience. So 35 is seen as the age where your experience and hard work is at its peak before you start to have age related issues such as health and looks declining and not so old as to be too old for chicks under 30. Thing is it can be argued that any age is the prime. Just so happens that 35ish gels well with TRPs aims and ideology.

More time lifting, more time developing a career, more time developing the part of you that doesn't give a soggy fuck about what others think about you, more time honing skills/hobbies like musical performance, etc. And a lot of guys don't quite look "old" yet.
wont_tell_i_refuse 7y ago
As a side question, has anyone here recovered from a dead-end career in their late 20s to become successful? What did it take, besides mettle?
[deleted] 7y ago
Get rid of this limiting belief. Peak is where you want to be. Ask Mike Cernovich if he peaked at 35. Hell, ask Donald Trump or Elon Musk. Well you won't ever be like Donald or Elon but you can definitely be like Mike.
Reformed65 7y ago
It should get better if you play your cards right.
By 35, you should have things that most guys in their 20s don't. That includes fame, money, status and also power.
I also think women like older men that keep themselves in shape and are successful because in a biological sense, you've shown them that by 35 you are healthy, happy and still strong so you have the genes they want their children to have.
