I'm ending a long term LTR, found a lie and frankly I'm not waiting for the trickle truth. Don't think she cheated, but don't care. There's something there.

Went to a business conference, met up with some folks. Hot young, tiny blonde was very chatty. We hit it off, I pushed/pulled, made it a point to be extroverted. Walked away and chatted up other folks, including a few women. 10 mins later, she's on my elbow, laughing at my conversation with the other people.

Dinner--she paid, said she needed the expense. Ended up in her room with her showing me some corporate materials. After 15 mins of this banter, leaned in, started to kiss her. I did something I haven't done before and I told her "I'm not fucking you". Not shortly thereafter, she pulled my clothes off. Still told her "I'm not fucking you", as I put my dick in her ass. I left after--she was a bit upset at this, but I said "I have to go", and that was that.

Instead of texting her/calling her, I let things stew for a day. She texted first thing the next morning, said she had a good time, etc. I waited until the afternoon, then contacted with "I can come see you on Thursday". She sent a few other texts, I commented after a while.

Thursday came and she took me to dinner again. Nice place. A bit hands off, but there were other folks there she might have known. Is ok, I'm outcome independent. My thought was, if it didn't happen, I'm out of there with a nice meal and decent conversation, with plenty of time to go elsewhere.

Take her back to the room, no pretense, and got me and her off a few times. Got dressed, and kissed her goodnight, left.

Before, I'm sure I would have wanted to know how she felt, what she wanted, called her throughout the day, kept telling her I was thinking of her, bought her flowers---all that bluepill bullshit. Because of here, I led, she followed, and it was good. On to the next one.

Great advice. I was a deep introvert in high school, and not much better in college.

After college I immediately had to take a sales job. Learning how to take 100 "no's" to get 1 "yes" is invaluable to learning how to become more extroverted.

You learn not to care about responses until you get the response you desire.

So many people get caught up in their current identity, they don't realize they can change it.

Definitely. A great programmer who can learn sales will no longer be a great programmer. I've seen it more than a few times in my life, and I'd prefer to leave programming to the women and get guys into the jobs that require masculine abilities.

There are programmer guys I am glad are programming, but they're also earning $250k in cities where $50k is enough to live on. For those slogging in the cubicle, learn to sell. Get a part time job at the mall selling men's underwear for 3 months to learn how.

You are right that programming requires strong logical and puzzle solving tendencies, which are more typical of men. But at the same time programming is a very blue pill environment, while sales tend to be more red pill. And its not by chance, the type of personalities required for one and the other calls for it.

Indeed. I'm in the field for a long time. Have never seen a brilliant woman programmer. Some are decent, very few were good, but they were mostly relegated to menial tasks as user interface, tools or maintenance. Of course there are exceptions, but I haven't seen any.

The really heavy development, r&d and deadline-intensive work is handled by guys.

So unless you're equating programming to web front-end programming, or beginning php/ruby BS, you're missing the mark. And even if you do, you're missing the mark since those are 9th grade abilities (for teens, basically).

Agreed, but most programming isn't about logic anymore. It's about mothering and nurturing code problems. Code has becoming the unruly child.

Second, I disagree with discouraging people from abandoning STEM fields.

I'm not discouraging it, the market is. That's why programming is best done by 50 guys earning $2,000 a year in Bulgaria versus 1 American that used to make $100k a year.

9 times out of 10, the computer science student will be more successful than the guy selling bras at the mall.

Not true anymore -- and even if the CS student "earns more", he has more debt to deal with and a shithole job that harasses him even on his off-hours, expects him to put in more work for less pay, and has no room for negotiating because a programmer can not define HOW they make the company profitable, whereas a salesman can whip out a weekly sales report and demand more money or take that report to any competitor.

Yeah, Alibaba proves that wrong. STEM has failed the Western men who based their entire upbringing on succeeding in STEM. STEM used to be great up until the late 90s when men failed to occupy the foundation and let it get replaced with the Bay Area progressives and the SJWs that run HR.

I know how STEM is today, I retired from a job that dealt with high science engineers and those guys are the most miserable guys I ever met. Outside sales were awesome, we had a blast going golfing and wetting up the money spenders.

STEM means you can never prove your value, and all it takes is one bug or one failed launch to end all the hard work you did 3 years prior. It's a dead end job that should be outsourced to gangs of slave labor overseas or fat women in cubicles.

I'm not surprised by your defense of STEM for men, this is reddit and all.

Of the 4 developer jobs i've had none of them asked for this. I do work occasional weekends, (maybe once a quarter). Otherwise I'm 40hrs max each week.

I've gotten major salary increases with every job change and regular increases exceeding inflation every year at every job i've taken.

I used to work as an accountant and had difficulty talking to people. Lost my job and had to work in a busy retail store for some time and boy did my conversation skills pick up. At first I had trouble even greeting people but eventually I was making conversations with complete strangers like I've known them for years.

Sales jobs work wonders for your social skills.

Go get a part time job in sales. Doesn't matter where. Retail stores are desperate for men to work there.

One of the young bucks I'm mentoring is also a programmer, 27, makes shit pay, hates his life. He got a job at TJ Maxx Home Goods store a few evenings and one weekend day per week. I think it's 16 hours?

In the 3 months he's worked there, he's:

Learned out to talk to any woman of any age and SMV
Learned to upsell to the point that his (female) store manager already gave him an unexpected raise
Met a random guy shopping there who liked his spark so much he invited him to interview for a sales job elsewhere
Can now make eye contact with others without flincing
Is on his feet 16 hours more per day so it's helping with staying active

3 months. Sales. I hope by summer he quits his cubicle and becomes a car dealer or carpet seller or who the fuck cares and ends up on his way to $100k per year, mostly commission.

I second that. This sub brought me to sales. Got a job for 13 an hour working leads. After 3 months, got another job selling mattresses. This place offered me multiple jobs, before finally offering to create a manager job and pay me almost double to stay. Dread game. All the women there want to fuck me, too... And this just boosted that SMV like wild. Ive got a married lesbian wearing eyeliner and escalating comments from "hes gonna sell beds to thots" to joking about wanting to touch me. Too bad none of them are very attractive.

DO NOT DO THIS. It's like the lottery. The chances you'll make any money at all in the startup game is tiny. In the meantime, you're destroying your body and mind working 80 hour weeks in an expensive city (SF or NYC) for little money you'll just dump into the ridiculous rent. Work remote and maintain the high salary with increased independence.

Have you ever tried this? It's a bit of a crap shoot.

Your best bet at making money in programming is to create a product and sell it. This requires surprisingly little programming skill and a fuckton of marketing, sales and business acumen. And be prepared for 4 in 5 of those product ideas to miserably fail. At least the cost of failure is low.

If you are commission based there are many places that will hire you because they don't have to pay you shit unless you make money for them. Sell cars, sell vacuum cleaners, sell magazines. They hire literally anyone and you will learn the fundamentals much faster than sitting behind a desk with no fire lit under your ass to make a sale.

Yep, and in those jobs you also need to learn how to cold call and generate leads. It doesn't work for most guys who are scared to death of face to face conversations, let alone cold calls and cold leads.

Work retail for 3 months. Meet TONS of chicks who are fucking desperate to get their shop on because husband and boyfriend are losers. Work on your weak points.

After 3 months (200 hours of work only, maybe $2000 income) you start looking for a commission job.

That's probably a better prescription for most people. I jumped in headfirst and went full introvert to cold-knock sink or swim sales. It was the most uncomfortable experience of my life but I also grew the most from it. Now I'm not a natural extrovert but I can be when I decide to, I enjoy myself when mingling but still get that exhaustion at the end of it where a natural extrovert would feel energized by the experience.

Yeah I prefer not to throw anyone into an ice pond when they can't swim, and my general guidelines have helped a lot of guys over the past 20 years.

My two most important mindset goals are simple:

If you put women on the pedestal constantly, get a job as a barback.
If you don't have charisma and confidence, get a job working retail even at a women's store.

Back in November, LTR took me to (lingerie store) and there was an actual guy working there. At an woman's bra store. I was stunned so I opened him and talked to him a bit.

Ends up he's full-on TRP. Dark triad type, too, lol. Self confessed. Says he makes a killing there financially because corporate demands hiring more guys and guys don't apply there at all.

He's the token hire and gets paid bank for it. And meets some cute chicks, too.

I don't think you know how sales works... I did door to door for a construction company as a summer job. 1) the pressure is insane 2) some people aren't going to buy your shit you are peddling no matter what. Sales also has limited upward mobility. Don't make sales out as some amazing career path. It also has awkward hours. When everyone else can meet people on Friday and Saturday nights you can't because you have to be at the dealership.

yeah, worked commercial real estate sales for years and these conventions are just plain screw fests.

Most of these women in high dollar sales are good looking. At the same time, they are not kids and usually are mature enough that there is not a lot of games.

Most women is high dollar sales drink a lot and love to party. Note this does make them prone to the high dick count numbers that I refer to as dick soup .... cause it is just stewing down there.

Most women in sales project that "convention" mentality and put on their best "how Stella got her groove back" acceptance.

I get where you're coming from, but it depends on the situation. Often times girls will put up serious LMR your first time in the bedroom with them. And it is up to you to show her you don't need it and aren't desperate. She knows you want to fuck. By saying "we're not going to fuck" shows that you have the intelligence to communicate subtly and playfully. It gives you points on the social scale. One key point though is that this line should be said with a grin to show you're playing with her.

Case in point: I went on a date with a girl and got her back to my hotel room (no drinking, just had a fun time and connected). Once in my hotel room, she immediately turns on the TV, stiffens up, and goes cold. I try to start with kino and massages, nice talk, but she's not responding at all, just watching TV.
