I don't believe I have in my nearly thirty years of existence been over 9 percent body fat (okay, baby fat doesn't count).
However, for the last few months I have not done much exercising.
Until about 2.5 weeks back, when I started a new habit: 2 sets of press-ups, two sets of pull-ups, two sets of sit-ups, two sets of one-legged squats.
Takes about 15-20 minutes to do it all.
Let alone feeling better - no better way to start the day - I am also looking better. The definitions on my obliques is coming back, my chest is looking slightly bigger (or at least if feels so).
I set myself 90 day challenges. I challenged myself to do 90 days straight of meditation, completed it, now I'm doing 90 day morning exercise challenge on top of meditation (stretching only on Sundays).
The point of this post is to show that starting small works and results can be quick. Don't wait for the perfect opportunity to present itself to put yourself on the right path.

Is this sub about comradarie and bettering yourself as a man? Looks like this post brought out the inner bitches, correct the man and move on. No need for bullshit comments that make you sound like all the other geeks on reddit hiding behind the guise of the internet. Bottom line, you dont know his situation, could be all he is able to do for medical reasons etc. Back the fuck up and help a mother fucker instead of ripping on him when you get the chance. Pitiful.

If you're sub 10% bf without gear, you're small af. What's your stat?

i bet in 3 years half this sub will be on gear. just the trend i've noticed it went from being sad about girls to fitness, kinda the opposite of /fit/

Testosterone levels are indicative of how masculine you are, and with men nowadays being at a lower test level then a few generations past, I personally feel that jumping on the bike is the way. FYI I'm planning to do a cycle myself, so I'm biased.

he thinks he's making progress after 2.5 weeks of bodyweight bullshit
you really think he has any clue what 9% bodyfat looks like?
"two sets of pushups a day and my chest be poppin1!!!!!!!
lmaooooooooo

He's doing press ups, chin ups, sit ups and one legged squats. When did body weight stuff suddenly become body weight bullshit?

Well, you be the judge.

I'm sorry, I just can't. Here's me at 12% (confirmed by DEXA scan):

Back then, I had to lose another 10-15 lbs to get into stage condition, where I was 6-7%. It's not something that accidentally happens.
By the way, I achieved all of that before touching gear. I hope that will make everyone on here that whines about steroids think twice.
TheDialecticParadox 9y ago
Hahaha you think that is 9%???

If you're 9% body fat I'm the queen of England
[deleted] 9y ago

Depends. This guy clearly isn't 9% but you can be under 15% with no visible abs if you're genetically predisposed to store fat in your stomach or if your ab muscles are weak. I've seen 110 pound weaklings at sub 10% BF with no abs.
[deleted] 9y ago
Well, you'd be wrong. But don't worry, I'll come back with evidence.
It's a shame we're talking about me, instead of the purpose of the post which is to get people started. But whatever, making my point hopefully will motivate someone to get going

This is pretty important. I think I speak for most new TRPers when I say the transition for most of us isn't sports to p90x. It's from an unhealthy, sedentary and over weight lifestyle (and heavy smoking for those like me). I've had amazing results in less than three weeks from a routine similar. Yeah I'm not at 9% body fat lol, but simple easing in with a transition like this has improved my quality of life across many different areas.
[deleted] 9y ago
I'll be coming back with damning evidence. It has been a while since I've tested, so I could be wrong.
But this was the point of this post. Start however you are. Even if I'm delusional, I've certainly seen and felt a difference from weeks on end of not doing a thing. That's something that anyone can benefit from.
[deleted] 9y ago
Just a caveat, what I suggest is, for those who are having trouble getting good habits going, start small and progress to a good routine. Do not skip the gym, but absolutely do some calisthenics at home to get going if you're still just sitting on your ass.

This is some of the dumbest shit I've ever heard.
