Introduction
There has been talk of the Red Pill and Blue Pill being simply two ideologies.
This is false.
Body
The Blue Pill is the default for all children because our system teaches this way of thinking from the very beginning of life. You go to school and are brainwashed. You watch television and are brainwashed. Unless you are smart and seek the Alt Media online the only news you get will support the Blue Pill ideology. It's all molding your mind to think in a certain predictable way.
- You become programmed with easily recognizable ideas.
The Red Pill acts somewhat like an Anti-Virus software program.
What the Red Pill does is systematically goes through all the programming that convinced you of Blue Pill idealism and destroys those ideals.
This where we get:
- Kill the Beta
You might say we are helping people to become disillusioned about the Blue Pill so that they may be free to see the truth, the light... to become enlightened.
Then you say:
"Okay, yes, you do destroy the old Blue Pill mythology but then you simply adopt a new one. That new one is rigid too."
Again this is a false notion.
Think of the many paths of Red Pill:
-
MGTOW
-
ONS
-
Plate Spinning
-
Chad Thundercock lifestyle (can be dirt poor)
-
Alpha Male (top of the social heirarchy)
-
LTR (family where man is Captain)
- Married Red Pill (they discovered the truth later in life)
The fact of the Red Pill is we have no one outcome. You become a free thinking masculine male who decides which way he wishes to live his life based on the tools we give you to see the truth.
Conclusion
The Red Pill destroys the idealism that is programmed into the beta by the Blue Pill.
We are able to recognize the programs and effectively "delete" them.
The free man then has choices and does as he wants.
Our Red Pill gives freedom to those who were once mentally slaves.

I am not sure about idealism, but it is destructive towards faith. Faith of Blue Pill Mythologies crumble. Up from that point a person is free to adopt principles based on observation. The Red Pill is the second part.
It is similar to religion versus science. Religion is based on faith and ego-attached feelings to that faith. Science replaces those with principles from observation. There are many scientists who get attached to their findings. But a paramount example of a scientist is the one who does ego-attach himself to the scientific principles, so that he may re-evaluate in the light of new discoveries. If someone would tell me they have found a unicorn, I would be highly skeptical at first but I would kindly invite him to bring that unicorn to my basement so I can -ahem- experiment with it.
If only BP people would behave in a similar way, that they would change their belief system after a couple of obvious failures; then they wouldn't be BP. But instead, they convince themselves that everything they encounter is an exception to the rule (oh well, I guess she has self-esteem issues; otherwise she would have clearly picked me). Yea, sunk cost fallacy is a bitch. The problem arises because they feel invested into BP dogma, and even worse they define their identity by it (but it's ok, I'm a nice guy. Being nice is hard).

Faith is believing in something when you don't have proof either way. If you get valid proof for how things are, faith naturally becomes irrelevant to the equation.
vengefully_yours Senior Endorsed 9y ago
You're right it's corrosive to faith, it should be. Realizing the world isn't how you've been told it is, and it's actually very different with different requirements destroys faith. Doesn't matter if it's 'all girls are wonderful,' girls are just as strong and capable as men, or that the earth was created in 6 days, 10,000 years ago and was covered in a world wide flood. All evidence points to the contrary, and beliefs should be backed with facts based in reality. Trying to conform reality to your faith doesn't work, you're only deluding yourself.
Hillarysdilddo_2016 9y ago
No. The worst is that they are so indoctrinated that they believe there is no rule. That each and every individual is a special snowflake.
Thus they wander through life blind and oblivious to their own and other's motives. They exist in a perpetual state of hypnosis until their delicately constructed mental schema shatters after a traumatic event. It's almost as if Mother Nature has hardwired us to reject brainwashing, given appropriate stimulus.
Reality is a Cold. Hard. Bitch. Doesn't give a fuck what your bitch ass believes.
I will also add... science, bluepill, leftism, atheism are the new religions. They are belief systems for the average person.
[deleted] 9y ago
Yup. These new religions twist facts so hard and have intense "faith", they make cults look mediocre.
See Anti Trump rallies. If they were just protesting its fine but have you seen the violence, hate and bigotry? Unbelievable. These were thesame turds that advocate peace, open-mindedness and tolerance...
mummersfarce_is_done 9y ago
I do not agree with you on science and atheism being religions, but I agree many people blindly believe in scientific and atheistic dogma. That is a religious behaviour.
Hillarysdilddo_2016 9y ago
See my comment to Vengeful. After reading that I think you'll see your comment boils down to semantics. (Not a dis, I'm saying I think you'll see where my statement is coming from and were probably in agreement.)

Science and atheism are not religions, they are not blue pill and not left. Requirements of evidence is not faith, and atheism by definition is a lack of belief.
Religion is very blue pill, and feminism, Marxism, socialism are all religions. Everything you said about before the "I will also add" is true, factual, and applies to your religious beliefs.
Do me a favor. Apply the same critical thinking you have for feminism and blue thinking to your religious beliefs. Is there any evidence, other than the book from which you have been read to, to support that faith? Look outside the bubble of your religion, look at it from a different perspective, and decide if you've been lied to yet again, or if there really have been talking animals and the earth is flat.
If you do, you will see the same cognitive dissonance that you had when you realized you had been lied to about girls. You won't want to believe something different, you will get angry about it and probably stop looking into it. Exactly what you are describing. I'm not trying to shake your faith or ridicule you, but I want you to see that all of us do this, with different things.
Hillarysdilddo_2016 9y ago
I am not religious.
However there are universal truths in religions. To dismiss knowledge of the ancients is quite arrogant. It's so strange, we're so modern and advanced that we have to discover women's nature when it was already codified and known over 2000 years ago.
I understand why you say religion is blue pill and I agree, partially. If you become a blind, obedient slave to rules that you do not understand then yes that is very blue pill. But if you study the knowledge contained in the parables then you are simply becoming enlightened.
Atheism and science are very much religions to the common man. It is quite too much to argue, and not the right forum to delve into here. I suggest you read up on metaphysics, epistemology, and foundationism.
In short, atheism is simply the belief there is no God. Whereas religion is the belief there is a God. Notice the identical foundations of those sentences?
Athiests act like evangelicals on a mission to spread the word of "non-god" trying to convert everyone into non-believers. It's laughable, they may as well hold hands with Christians and go on missions spreading the gospel. Even better is to have these arguments over things that are not even falsifiable.
The athiest's religion is science. They usually make such absurd claims like "science disproves the existence of God" or "science makes God obsolete". Strange, humans have proven God does not exist yet we've never even stepped foot on another planet. You and no one knows what is at the center of the earth. Even better, you and no one nor any machine will ever visit there. So we'll never know. Even better, the "knowledge" of science all comes from belief.
Science is a belief system that tells you nothing about what or why things are. Don't believe me? What is mass? What is energy? You and no one knows the answers to these questions, yet the entire scientific system is totally dependent on these fundamental properties.
What about inductive proofs? Do you know that gravity always pulls things down? Couldn't something fall up one day?
Don't let the minuscule and insignificant accomplishments of man blind you with hubris.
Believe what you want, but don't think you are operating from some intellectually or morally superior position. (Not saying you are, but this feature I have encountered often with super zealous atheists)
vengefully_yours Senior Endorsed 9y ago
Non religious my ass. Atheism is simply a lack of belief in any supernatural being. Agnostic atheists do not claim there is no god, there could be but the evidence does not support the hypothesis. Gnostic atheists say there is no god, and to be honest there aren't many of that type.
However, I do know that the Abrahamic God doesn't exist, simply because if he did he would have known how the universe works, what electricity and disease are, and why earth quakes happen. Gods are wha ignorant people used to explain the world around them, since they had no answers, they made them up.
Could there be something we cannot measure yet? Definitely yes. There's plenty we have yet to quantify, but if your God is in those gaps, he's in an ever receding pocket of understanding. God of the gaps.
Scientific knowledge comes from observation and testing, the repeatable results often let us predict things we do not know for certain nor can observe yet. You have a rather evangelical outlook on science, which I find amusing since you claim to be non religious.
What did the ancient people know? They knew how to manipulate, manage, and weaponize human nature, so they got some things right. Yay for them, we can still use what they got right and not use the rest of the bullshit. The same way we used German technology to put men on the moon, build the US interstate system, and achieve supersonic flight, along with many medical advancements that were derived from abhorrent methods from 36-45, without killing a few million people.
Because they got something right doesn't mean they are right.
As for arrogance? Thinking that this one pale blue dot hanging in the vastness of space, orbiting a very common star, on the outskirts of a galaxy, which is just one in a billion billion galaxies is the absolute favorite and we are the masters of it all? Holy shit, you want to bring up hubris.
TheRedStoic 9y ago
Much simpler.
The blue pill is a narrative philosophy, based on faith and belief. A philosophy tries to explain and justify what is.
The red pill is a praxeology. A toolbox built of experiential evidence which can be applied to goals, and gives results. A praxeology is simply a toolbox, giving you leverage to gain specific results.
That's about it. (I saw that post too, the up-voted comparison of red and blue both being nearly identical in framework)
[deleted] 9y ago
Just because The Red Pill destroys Blue Pill ideals does not mean that it is anti idealism. Part of TRP is self-improvement and becoming the best version of yourself, which falls under what ideals are meant to symbolize and be. How can self-improvement not be an ideal or be anti-idealistic? TRP can potentially show you the best versions of yourself and the path you path you choose for your life. And if, anything, I'd say BP's much more anti ideal than any ant idealism TRP's said to have. Common BP advice is "just be yourself", telling a person that they don't have to improve or become better in any way. How idealistic and symbolizing the best you are capable of is being mediocre at best, and terrible; but pretentiously thinking you're just as good as people who actually improved themselves; at worst.

The blue pill is wishful thinking
The red pill is practical thinking

Dude all you do is talk abstract, pretentious shit about 'killing the beta', just go outside and fuck some girls
AnarchyInAmerica2017 9y ago
He's a 55 year old feckless fucktard pretending to be some sort of all seeing eye of the red pill manly man cult. You can't really take him seriously.

This is the best comment so far. Super high quality. Well thought out, and well delivered. Where would TRP be without stoicismexpress?

Those two are basically the same. Regardless, there's a difference between being a nihilist and being a realist. Original poster's ideas are on track with realism, not nihilism, as he would not have placed any value on being red pill, for example.

Fuck hope. When you hope for something better, you put the onus on others to improve something for you, waiting for the outcome. I fucked hope in the ass and stole a six pack on my way out. I replaced hope with action. I make shit happen rather than waiting for others to get around to doing it for me.
Hope for something better if you like, but get off your ass and make it a reality.
[deleted] 9y ago
if you don't have hope, then why bother getting out of the bed in the morning. in any system of long term self improvement, whether TRP or anything else, you've got to have that faith that even though you're not seeing a change today, you moved an inch closer to your goals, and when you add up all those inches, the difference is huge.
deepthrill Senior Endorsed 9y ago
Maybe it is semantics, but "hope" to me is different from rational optimism.
"Hope" and "motivation" are a bit idealist for me. Essentially "wishful thinking". You might be saying the same thing, and this could just be a semantic argument.
http://www.wisdomination.com/screw-motivation-what-you-need-is-discipline/
The idea of discipline leading to external success is a better path towards achieving your goals.
Hope is how you feel along the way.
Discipline is about taking actions that lead to results of your goals.
Rational Optimism is the concept that you are most likely going to achieve the goals you want by working both intelligently and disciplined. I think you and I are saying the same thing at its core with nuanced language.
vengefully_yours Senior Endorsed 9y ago
I don't need hope for that. I need motivation. I make my own motivation, and the weather helps too.
I get out of bed because there are things in this life I want to do, places I want to go. I have passion, dreams, goals. I never hope I can do it, I fucking do it. Of I want to bad enough, I work towards that end. Afterwards I head off to another one.
The difference is this.
I hope I meet a girl who likes me.
Rocky_Bukkake 9y ago
then that's not hope. not real hope, at least. sitting there, hoping she'd kiss you.. to me, that's not real hope. hope is more like an ideal to strive for and wish for; something that requires action to occur. otherwise it's just magical thinking, no?
vengefully_yours Senior Endorsed 9y ago
Hope in one hand, shit in the other. One is an action, the other passive.
Hillarysdilddo_2016 9y ago
This is a great outline of the delineation between the two.
As you said the BluePill is willful ignorance and slavery.
The RedPill is liberation.
There's a reason for the saying:
Once you are enlightened you are free to do whatever you want. Become a hermit, become the president. Up to you. Being BluePill removes all agency and choices from you. There's a reason why they explain in The Matrix "...it's a prison for your mind." Ever notice when debating with a hardcore SJW their eyes nearly glaze up while they foam at the mouth? LOL. BluePill essentially violates your basic human rights. Except if you're not thinking then you're not a human--maybe that is the legal loophole why BluePill is allowed to perpetuate?
Halfway joking with my last sentence. Halfway. :)
vengefully_yours Senior Endorsed 9y ago
Agency is a word that irritates me. It's as if you're granted ability by others, and without it you can't do anything. It implies you are being held back.
The only thing holding you back is yourself, and it's what you tell yourself in your head that holds you back. Usually it's what you've been told and you took at face value without thinking about it.
I asked too many questions in parochial school, I didn't ingest the blue pills they shoved down my throat. I tried to, but it simply didn't work. The result was almost everyone in my life resorting to violence and actively trying to limit me. A willful mind breaks free, a complacent mind stays in chains.
DigitallyDisrupt 9y ago
You should study the psychological implications of agency, then it will irritate you less.
vengefully_yours Senior Endorsed 9y ago
Why yes, I will also look into microaggressions, Chopra's version of quantum, and the secret of manifestation of what I think about. I could learn more about religions too, but that is like becoming a Trekkie or Star Wars nerd/geek who knows what is on deck 37 of the Enterprise in the original series vs the later ones.
Useless bullshit.
Hillarysdilddo_2016 9y ago
It's not that they were granted agency, it's that by being blue pill it removed the agency they might have had or would have claimed for themselves. As a blooper everything is an external factor--didn't get the job? Cuz racism. Fat and unhealthy? No, you're body positive. Whore? Nah, you're sex positive. Divorce raped your husband? You're an empowered womyn. Nothing is their fault, and the choice to not be a lazy fuck or an immoral person is removed from them by their blue pill belief system.
vengefully_yours Senior Endorsed 9y ago
I agree with you, but see it the word agency being used as one of those feel good bullshit terms, co-opting of the word. More feminist/pc bullshit speak.
In my world you either get off your ass and do something, or you whine about it until someone does it for you. It's not agency, it's being active in your own life.
clearedmycookies 9y ago
The red poll doesn't destroy idealism, it just changes what your ideals are..

i don't know where this common habit of slopping over girls comes from you guys. it's so common here, but how does it even form...? i don't get it. i have met people like this but i have never experienced it.
is it referring to manipulation of feelings? girls manipulating guys' feelings, or guys trying too hard for a chick? i don't get it.
