Excerpt:
After almost six years of following the religious aspects of the Red Pill, I think it’s high time men acknowledge that modern Christian culture simply does not have men’s best interests as part of its doctrine anymore. Christianity, in particular, is by women, for women – if not directly executed by women, though even that is changing.
Church culture is now openly hostile towards any expression of conventional masculinity that doesn’t directly benefit women and actively conditions men to be serviceable, gender-loathing Betas. The feminist narrative of “toxic masculinity” has entirely replaced any semblance of what traditional masculinity or manhood once was to the church. Any hint of a masculinity not entirely beholden to a now feminine-primary purpose is not only feared, but shamed with feminine-interpreted aspersions of faith.
I recently read a study that our current generation is the least religious in history and I think as far as men are concerned much of that disdain for religion is attributable to a church culture that constantly and openly ridicules and debases any male-specific endeavors or anything characteristic of conventional masculinity. It’s no secret in today’s church franchisement that reaching out to, and retaining the interests of, men is at its most difficult.
Again, this is attributable to a generation of feminized men being raised into a church culture, and eventual church leadership, that has been taught to prioritize and identify with the feminine and reinforced with articles of faith now defined by the Feminine Imperative. The modern church has trouble reaching men because the church no longer has a grasp of what it means to be ‘men’.
To be clear, that’s not an indictment of the genuine faith itself, but rather a fairly measured observation of the way a feminine-primary church culture has shaped that faith. In the future, any man with a marginal capacity for critical thought will avoid the contemporary Christian church and religion for the obvious misandry it espouses; the only religious men you will find will be those raised into a life of religiously motivated Beta servitude – or those dragged to the feminine-directed church by wives who hold authoritative ‘headship’ in their relationships.
And even in what some consider to be pro-masculine or “macho” churches, we still find the Paper Alpha leaders preach from a mindset that defers wholesale to the feminine’s “Godly perfection” as they attempt to AMOG other male member to greater devotion to qualifying for, and identifying with, the feminine influence that pervades their church.

I get where you're going, and while I disagree and maintain that spirituality is an incredibly overlooked and important aspect to a happy and healthy life, I'll say this: I'm not surprised that this type of shit is posted here at all anymore. TRP is an incredibly amoral place to begin with as it promotes promiscuous sex and often times cheating in otherwise monogamous relationships (among other things), so denouncing any faith altogether is really just the next step from there, I guess. It's funny how TRP can be; sometimes I'll see threads where religion's praised and other times the general circlejerk is that it's "oppressing" men. I guess this is another one of those times. I know I'm in the unpopular opinion, and that's fine - I mean no disrespect and I'm not bashing you here - as I fully understand TRP lifestyle and the shadowing dismissal of morality that it naturally necessitates. I just find it disappointing to see so many "unplugged" guys blindly gravitate to whatever opinion is being circlejerked at the moment, especially in reference to faith as there is so much being dismissed without much thought.
Rollo-Tomassi 10y ago
This is what I expected. I'm in no way denouncing anyone's faith by addressing the way feminism and the FI have been thoroughly saturated into mainstream church cultures. In fact, I expressly address that in the post.
The Red Pill should be amoral and areligious in order to remain objective in its assessments. However, you, like most ego-invested Christians conditioned by the feminized church, would rather dismiss uncomfortable Red Pill truths by associating TRP with immorality.
TRP is like fire. You can use it to warm your house and cook your food, or you can use it to burn your house down and destroy your enemy's.

St. Paul said it is better to marry than burn with passion. That is, remain celibate, but if that isn't possible, marry. There was no third good option.
Play with fire, and sooner or later you will get burned.

But don't worry the girl with a kid is a born again virgin and won't have sex with him.
Rollo-Tomassi 10y ago
There's a TRM post about that: https://therationalmale.com/2012/03/26/pseudo-virginity/
[deleted] 10y ago
That's intresting, but I was commenting on the fact that it was OK for her so sleep with the father of her child, but now she "needs" the sanctity of marriage for it to be "acceptable" in the eyes of god. Aka you can provide for me and my child so long as I don't have to fuck you.

I don't know what kind of church you go to, but the teachings of the New Testament are Red Pill as FUCK. Men are supposed to be in charge, to handle their shit, and to lead wisely. Women are supposed to follow their husbands and obey their orders.
AdonisLives 10y ago
The apostle Paul is probably the most RP guy of the New Testament. He knew what was up. Seriously, I'm not trying to convert any of you, but PLEASE read up on the guy and his teachings. Dude was Super RP
feminists_are_dumb 10y ago
Which is not a coincidence. Religion exists as a form of social control. Society functions best when we have gender roles that play to each gender's biological and psychological strengths. Therefore, the best religions will be those that reinforce gender norms that help promote a stable society, which for all their shortcomings, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam all do very well.

Peter-Keating 10y ago
Same philosophy is in Hinduism. Karma. The Geeta says, "Karma hi dharm hai". Which translated from Hindi means, your work is your religion. So do best at what you do.
[deleted] 10y ago
[deleted]
scissor_me_timbers00 10y ago
That's correct. Buddhism says it's simply the system of "spiritual laws" and cause/effect inherent in the universe, not requiring an overseer.
Hinduism sees the it as being enforced by the overseer, aka God, aka Vishnu/Shiva aka Krishna aka supreme personality of godhead. So you don't reincarnate due to a natural system of laws, but are cast into your incarnations by the divine overseer and enforcer of justice.
However, one could argue that these are really the same thing, but Hinduism is just choosing to personify/anthropomorphize the system of spiritual cause/effect.
Peter-Keating 10y ago
Well, yes, I can't deny that completely. Hindus have a believe in reincarnations, forming a cycle of birth. In simple words if you did good deeds in past life, you'll reap the benefits in this life, same applies if you did bad in past life. Karma, is points you earn for your good work. So you see, if something bad, happened, you can't blame gods, it's just a reaction to your action.
This is mythology, much like poetry, it shouldn't be taken literally. In simple language, it's Newton's third law, every action has an equal reaction. Or you reap what you sow.

Albert Einstein believed in a god. Was he a weak mind?
scissor_me_timbers00 10y ago
That's arguable. He believed more in nature-as-God. He explicitly did not believe in a god with a personality that could be communicated with.
His quote "I don't believe God plays dice with the universe" was meant more figuratively and is frequently misunderstood.
redpillren 10y ago
People confuse God and religion. Religion was created by man to aquire power over others and order society. God is unknowable. Cant prove He exists, cant prove He doest.
mikesteane 10y ago
It is clear that the god he believed in was not the god of the O.T. but a sort of set of universal principles. As to whether he was a weak mind or not, it is clear that his undoubted genius for physics was in marked contrast to his very limited social skills.

I just quote my ROK comment from 5 days ago:
I spent an evening at the local baptists church here in my german city in March 2015. Was pretty interesting.
All the guys were black or semi-black dudes (afro-american origin; ancestors of US militants in germany) and all the girls were white craving the BBCs.
The whole thing was hilarious. It was a 'modern church' in which the priest was female and talked about sex at the first date and why god won't punish people who has changing partners and stuff lilke that.
When I left the worship service I asked myself If I was in a church or in some feminist hookup culture training.
Some background information: I am a white german male, born catholic but I left the church and I am an agnostic. I only went to the baptists church because two girls told me about it while I was walking throw the streets of the city center.
Edit:
I just found this: http://www.spiegel.de/panorama/gesellschaft/gina-lisa-lohfink-als-trauerrednerin-kuenstler-dries-verhoeven-im-interview-a-1110179.html#ref=recom-plista
So Gina-Lisa Lohfink (who just got punished for falsely accusing two guys she had a threesome with of rape) was carrying here privacy to grave. Just remember that SHE was the one that started this media campaign to get attention and now wants to be the double victim (getting attention is stealing her privacy; having a threesome while filming it is rape years later).
And where is she conducting that perfomance? In a german church. Slave morality and gynocentrism at it's best.
Christianity is completely fucked up in western societies.

A man is as God in his household to be respected and obeyed as such by his wife. His misdeeds will be judged by God not other men.
Yeah, it's paraphrased but it's the culmination of many very clear statements explaining that a man is to guide his household under all circumstances even by force if necessary. A higher authority will judge him if he was wrong and, barring that direct indictment by God himself, he must stand strong against the onslaught of the barbarians. It is his household built on his toil and his strong back. It is his grasp of reality and his ownership over his future that others covet. A woman is but a cherished possession of that household to be revered for her ability to birth children to that man not for her penchant to nag and complain or earn a dollar. This is a harsh statement in light of the current situation. I will consider a faith to be true and trustworhty when it starts respecting these values without encouraging abuse of the subservient. So I ask: What caused that first lapse in the leadership of men? Why did that generation of early progressives betray their duty and therefore forsake their inheritance? Why do we find ourselves in a society of boys pretending to be men with weak women disinherited from their true and only strength that of being nurturing and raising the next generation in the image of the man that owns her? The harpies scream and rage at the very concept of being possessed. Let them. What they are raging against is being possessed by a man's love. Feminists miss the point. Poor silly girls.
Addendum: I was raised in a Roman Catholic household with a very strict and traditional white Mediterranean culture. Just in case anyone was thinking I was a shill for the Muslim invasion.
Battle-Scars 10y ago
Not a personal attack of your beliefs but how do you reconcile what the Roman Catholic Church says to its parishioners and their institutional protection of child molesters and pedophile priests? I was also raised Roman Catholic but the hypocrisy and damage to young men that they allowed is absolutely disgusting.
GrowlingBears 10y ago
I appreciate you bringing this point up. Let's just smear the shit all over the walls so everyone can see it, shall we? Because, if we do maybe, just maybe, things will start changing and get back to an honorable and righteous way of living. Maybe these damaged men will be divested of their respect and positions of influence. Maybe history will not repeat itself for the fifth time. Maybe.
To directly answer your inquiry... I can not reconcile it. I won't excuse it. It is a travesty. It is abuse of the weak and subservient. I do not trust any of the modern belief systems including the one in which I was raised. I also have turned away from the church due to this type of institutionalized abuse and savagery. But, there are lessons and ways to conduct oneself clearly laid out and illustrated through many generations of practice that should be retained. These things are of infinitely greater value and full of wisdom that far transcends the confused mutterings of a handful of old-men-who-wear-silly-hats. These things are not religion itself but a history of how humans, how people, how men and women have lived together over the millennia. But, what the hell, let's start over because of smartphones and pictures of cats on imgur.
I have no faith in that which was taught to me as a child. It was brutally ripped away at a young age. But, I embrace the belief of a man being wholly, completely, and utterly himself, nothing more or less than a man. The beauty is that this identity of man is left largely up to us to define. The point that is often lost is the simple fact that one must define that identity and stand by it, not shudder as the tide rises a couple of inches and your socks get wet. If you have a functioning life, are somewhat fulfilled, improving yourself as you see fit, and are not riding on the backs of others, you likely don't need a burning bush to whisper secrets about how to cut off part of your penis to be qualified as a man...
Edit: typos

Roman catholic church has fallen prey to the jewish matriarchy, they have planted Marie above Jc... (That's blasphemy worse than herezy)
Orthodoxy is the last uncorupted faith, they are the "Patriarchy" and it's the jeweses matriarchy worst enemy.
Brezinsky said something along the lines of "Our (nwo) biggest enemy now (he said this after the fall of the UssR) is the Russian orthodox church".
In terms of religious doctrine there's no abrahamic faith that remained unchanged, in terms of patriarchy(protector of man), orthodoxy is the same as it was 2000 years ago.
But islam is the Alpha male's true "faith" it's doctrine is all about keeping Pandora in her box and liberating man by submision to god. Hard to think such an animalistic religion was conceived 1500 years ago by a simple warlord.
Freedom = slavery (submission)
COAT_REMOVAL_SERVICE 10y ago
Very few were actually pedophiles. The overwhelming majority were gay men in the priesthood who acted on attraction to male teens.
In today's world there is a degree of magnitude more sexual abuse happening in public schools than there was in the Catholic Church. But it's liberal women getting their jolies off boys (who can't be raped) so who cares.
magus678 10y ago
This sounds a lot more like hamstering blame from a group you prefer to one you do not.
COAT_REMOVAL_SERVICE 10y ago
It sounds a lot like a fact.
One that the media didn't want to play up because gays are a favored group and Catholics are disfavored by mainstream media.
FYI
Too much cognitive dissonance to admit that the Catholic church welcomed gay men (although with the stipulation that priests are supposed to be celibate) and yet the gay men wound up having unhealthy urges they couldn't control. Yes, the coverup was bad, I'm not denying any bad actions on the part of the Church, but almost none were actual "pedophiles".
Meanwhile:
More facts
Of course that's mostly done by teachers, i.e. women, so who cares.
Why wouldn't you want to investigate something that may be 100x worse than the Catholic Church. Maybe because when it comes to the government and the indoctrination of children by the state, the cover-up gets REALLY REAL.
magus678 10y ago
The church's failing to root this out and punish appropriately is the operative issue. Not the demographics of who did the diddling.
Which was my point. Moving it from a church problem to a gay problem just fogs the issue. It isn't the church's fault these things happened in the first place, but it becomes their fault when they do nothing about it.
COAT_REMOVAL_SERVICE 10y ago
Unfortunately, the church is in the forgiveness business, not the punishing business.
That said, it was not understood in the 1970's and 80's than these sexual obsessions were so difficult to stop. It was thought, genuinely, at the time, that if you moved the person away from the person they were attracted to, the problem would stop.
What's worse is that the public schools now should know better. But they still protect teachers.
[deleted] 10y ago
Depends on the church. My denomination gets shit on for "subjugating" women, by denying them access to the highest positions in the church, acknowledging that abortion is murder, etc. Christianity gets it from both ends.
AdonisLives 10y ago
Same here bro. The women at my church have ZERO subjugation over a man in the church. Abortion is considered murder and the preacher openly discusses how women of the church should pull younger girls aside and teach them how to be god feaeing, subject to their husband women. The preacher is pretty RP in some respects.

Don't mistake modern POZ congregations for Christians
Ali_s1987 10y ago
I strongly disagree. Even though not being a christian I really believe that all religions gave human beings a purpose. A common goal. Our entire morality is based on Abrahamic religions. The problem is that most people change their religious teachings to serve their own needs. Its a tool box. You choose what you want to do with it.
mikesteane 10y ago
Not at all. There is quite clear evidence that there are built mental schema which predispose us to moral positions. Search under "Wason test" or "immanent justice" for more information. Also not that the Abrahamic religions are themselves based on culture and religons that pre-dated them by a long way.
Ali_s1987 10y ago
Yea I'm sure the vikings and Spartans and mongols and athenians and the Hindus had problems with murder, rape, looting and pillaging and killing people randomly and having a class or caste system etc. It was the Abraham in religions that introduced all of this.
mikesteane 10y ago
I'm not sure what you're saying here. What did the Abrahamic religions introduce exactly?
Ali_s1987 10y ago
The 10 commandments. Thou shall not steal, kill, rape etc etc. Older religions did not believe that. The vikings raped, pillaged looted indiscriminately. The mongols even more so. The spartans killed others as well as their deformed infants. The class system and caste system was rampant. Do I need to go on?
[deleted] 10y ago
"Older religions did not believe that."
Untrue, and many religions had rules against all of those.
mikesteane 10y ago
Well you could probably answer the question. Or you can read the book of Joshua.
"And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword." 6:21
"When ye have taken the city [Ai] ... ye shall set the city on fire: according to the commandment of the LORD. 8:8
10:28 And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain : and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho.
15:16 And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjathsepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife. Cruelty Injustice Women Family Values Caleb offers to give his daughter to whoever conquers the city of Debir. Caleb's nephew wins the contest and is given his cousin for a prize. 15:17 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.
You might also look at the book of Numbers.
13: 17 "Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. 18"But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves.
Ali_s1987 10y ago
Firstly im not christian.......so I dont even know about the book of joshua.
Secondly.......wat just happened? What question was there and wat are u talking about?
mikesteane 10y ago
What did the Abrahamic religions introduce exactly?
That's why you should read it, to see that that the Abrahamic religions (at least 2 of them) condoned the things you accused the Spartans and Vikings of.
Ali_s1987 10y ago
Well the verses you are quoting, what is the context. Are they asking people to do those things. Or are they telling people what happened. Is it in retaliation or revenge? Without context whats the meaning behind it. Also is the book of joshua accepted by all forms of christianity? Is it taken literally or figuratively. Does it talk about how one particular city or the treatment of every city ever conquered?
mikesteane 10y ago
The Book of Joshua is part of the Old Testament and is therefore a part of both Judaism and all standard forms of Christianity.
The context is that God allegedly told Joshua to go out and overrun all the neighbouring tribes and the B of J documents him doing this.
It is supposed to be taken as a historical record and believed as such by many people, despite absurdities such as God stopping The Sun in its path for 12 hours so that Joshua could continue his killing.
It talks about a great number of cities that were supposedly overrun by Joshua's armies, but at least one of those mentioned (Ai) had been abandoned well before the time of Joshua.

The worst part of Christianity for me is that it condemns man's nature and has a man believe he is flawed and born with sin.
If someone condemns their very nature, their selfishness, desire for power, their ambition, their pride, it creates not only a man that will not achieve great things, and it creates a man that hates himself, that serves others before himself. Christianity hinders self actualization and stops a man from reaching his potential by harboring such self hating beliefs.
[deleted] 10y ago
I'm surprised there are religious red pill guys to be honest. Spiritual beliefs are almost always defended on the basis of some wish-thinking or appeal to emotion. That's why you always hear religious people say things like "you just gotta have faith" or "there has to be something more out there".
yayogghost 10y ago
A catholic here.In my opinion your statement is not precise enough.
Church is bluepill- true.
The actual belief is bluepill-absolutely false. The redpill and catholic faith have much more in common than anyone would think.
[deleted] 10y ago
I don't see how personally. Have you ever noticed how vague and poorly defined God concepts are? How would you define the deity you believe in? Is it an actual thing or just some version of a disembodied mind?
yayogghost 10y ago
There are the ten commandements, and the golden rule (aka common sense). This should be enough for 99% of your choices you have to make in youf life. In special cases, you can talk to a priest you can trust. There arent twelve and a half million rules because our god wants our freedom and not our enslavement. But these rules are not easy to follow at all times.
I think God is almighty, eternal, omniscient, the biggest artist of all time.
And one thing I want to add: What if there is no point in living? Is the answer "Just enjoy life as long at it lasts and stay true to yourself" enough? Being rotten and forgotten after three generations even by your own descendants? And thats it? No matter how much I would achive in my life, in the grand schmemes of things it l doesnt matter. If thats really everything, I would be pretty disappointed.
My faith got even deeper after discovering trp , since it is full of truth from a different perspective.
[deleted] 10y ago
That could very well be it. It's not like the universe or God as you will call it, owes us a happy ending. That doesn't necessarily mean there can't be any point to living.
My personal motivation for living is that I would rather live than be dead. This idea that the universe cares for us is the byproduct of ancient people projecting human qualities on the universe as a whole. In my view, we created God. In the grand scheme of things, I don't care if I'm rotten and forgotten. I'll participate in life for its own sake because I enjoy living
I don't need future loved ones to praise me for having a hand in creating them. I will participate in the story of humanity because I believe we are awesome. No telling what we can still accomplish. I'll be dead but I might as well do something while alive since I didn't ask to exist in the first place.
I have constructed my own purpose for living and I'll take that any day over one forced onto me from an authority figure with the threat of hell or "separation from God" or whatever you want to call it.
yayogghost 10y ago
Im surprised by your answers, because they are spot on. Not many have this much reflection.
But I believe everybody can discover God if you want and if you are open to it.And then you dont follow any authority, you follow your true nature.
And i have never seen this dictatorial church. The priests I know only give their answers when they are asked and even in church they dont speak as clear as they could (and often should). I dont know where this hate comes from.
[deleted] 10y ago
I think God is an amazingly useful concept for the record. I respect the idea of God. I think God was conceived the moment humans could grasp the idea of perfection and we've been slowly trying to edge ourselves toward it. That's why religions have slowly evolved over time from polytheistic sun/moon deities to more complex monotheisms like the abrahamic religions.

[deleted] 10y ago
Yep. Terrible argument. It assumes you're in the clear by sticking to a single belief system. It's just fear mongering. The argument tries to exploit our fear of what happens when we die. It could very well be nothing. If so, that is a terrible way to waste your life time living in accordance with the wishes of he ultimate AMOG. It's just another way society wants men to submit.
GrowlingBears 10y ago
Religion is a form of government. I'm sharing my understanding of the underlying truth, as I learned it from my family, of how a man is to govern himself and his woman. There is also insight to be gained in how a man is vulnerable to being governed by external forces when his belief system is weak or poorly defined. I'm definitely not promoting any religion but rather the appreciation for men that, in general, older religions demonstrate. I personally despise much of how I was raised but there was an anachronistic respect for men to a large extent. I just want to know why we threw out the baby with the bathwater. Then threw out the tub and then set the whole damn house on fire because let's-try-something-new-yay-woo-have-another-appletini.
I will add, though, in my family religion was mostly for the women and children. The man was truly the king and god of his house. I wish I had understood this sooner and talked to my grandfather before he died.
[deleted] 10y ago
I grew up in a Pentecostal family so I truly understand what you mean. The new age shit was a half-baked knee jerk reaction at best. I think there is a very reasonable middle ground here that I would guess most intelligent men eventually arrive at. The utility of traditional social attitudes coupled with modern scientific knowledge. Use what works. Discard the rest. It's not like we have to accept beliefs as sets anyways. We can mix and match.
GrowlingBears 10y ago
I like the way you tied those topics together. We discredit the magical and fantastical garbage, as we should as we discover more about reality, but we then assumed (or someone contrived) that all the gender and family role related wisdom is garbage also. I think this is by design actually. I think tossing everything is a way to discredit a power structure that had myriad enemies. However, the new structure has not, will not, and can not teach the wisdom that was discarded so no one knows what the hell is going on anymore. I love and admire the dark truth behind TRP and the PUA game theory but it is an incredibly old set of theories and strategies lacking in precise tactics, it's just another flawed system. I always chuckle at how time tested wisdom repackaged for young minds is so appealing. I also realize that people are making money off of it.
SetConsumes 10y ago
There is a catch to this. I was once an anti-theist.
Belief and faith is a very powerful thing for the mind. By being open to a possibility, you become open to a possible experience. If you are not open to it, you likely won't experience whatever it is even if it does occur. We blind ourselves per se.
Its difficult, especially if you're logic based, how to have faith in something that doesn't logically make sense.
But, from my experience, being open to possibilities led to me experiencing a whole range of things I never thought was possible, can't be scientifically explained, but is still real and reproducible.
I do not follow any organized religion, but, part of why organized religion is powerful is that they do contain and utilize esoteric truths and knowledge(but twisted and used for other means, corrupted by bullshit).
[deleted] 10y ago
On the other hand, there are people who have been open to these experiences for years and it never happens like they're told it will. I grew up heavily religious. Got prayed through at altars all the time. The most that I would experience was an adrenaline rush and wishy-washy feelings of comfort because I was doing something that was socially encouraged. The mind can attempt to make itself believe things that aren't necessarily true when you objectively look at it. I used to try SO HARD to convince myself of Christianity and Theism even though the cognitive dissonance was crippling me.
Right. That's because it does not make sense when you pull it apart and analyze it. This is the perfect way to slip shitty beliefs past your bullshit detector. Call it faith. Faith is just a subset of trust if you think about it. It's a type of trust you have absent of proof or evidence. That is not a good thing. It's inconsistent if you look at why you believe any other thing. You make a special case out of religious belief but you'll look both ways before crossing a busy highway.
SetConsumes 10y ago
Yeah I find its very hard to convince yourself of such a thing. I couldn't either when I was young despite wanting to and being decently religious.
The power of prayer comes from what is essentially meditating on an idea, as well as the hand positioning and being on your knees.
I don't find many Christians that truly understand this.
Not that I'd want to really get in contact with the Christian god. I don't see the Christian god as valid, but I do see many others as being more possible.
I don't entirely disagree. But, faith can be useful if it makes you stronger. I have irrational faith in myself and when I was younger I would have faith in various Gods that helped give me strength when I needed it.
But, I suppose you could say that's using faith in a practical way, as opposed to an emotional way.
[deleted] 10y ago
I see what you mean but don't you think there is a way to extract the useful part of beliefs without believing things that make no sense? I mean...how can nonsensical beliefs be useful anyways. I think a belief has to cohere to reality in some way to be useful.
SetConsumes 10y ago
If a nonsensical belief inspires you or causes you to act in a desired way, it can be useful. Probably not the most pleasant example, but I'm sure Hitlers faith based beliefs inspired him greatly. Though it also shows the danger of faith based belief.
Have you ever heard of the concept of the Knight of Faith? A useful way to use religion, but one I hardly see implemented as it is only for higher functioning people.
Conceited-Monkey 10y ago
Well, it also may have to do with the fact that religion is pure bullshit.
[deleted] 10y ago
Religion is for old women - of either sex.
Having said that, I am not anti-theist anymore (used to be). I can see now that religion played an important role in unifying a population and making it work together and repel outsiders. However, both Christianity and Islam are in a poor state now (Buddhism not so bad, not sure about Sikhism and Hinduism).
Islam had a fairly brief period a thousand years ago when it helped compensate the loss of historical Greek knowledge that early Christianity squandered. But it got stuck in the 12th century and is a total clusterfuck now, causing violence and destruction wherever it goes. This is why we should not accept any 'refugees' into Europe. These people's beliefs and culture screwed up their societies, and then the come to Europe but cling to the same culture, causing mayhem there too.
Christianity, meanwhile, has degenerated as it says in this article, and is now a source of weakness where it used to be a source of strength. At one time it was a great part of the strength behind the expansion of the European peoples and the founding of America and Canada. Now, it is a hobble around people's feet from all I've heard. As others have said, what is in the bible is certainly pretty redpill, in amongst all the supernaturalism, but that doesn't seem to be what is pushed now.

On an interesting note, the most masculine men I met I church were usually men who had converted to Christianity later in life. One was an ex Navy alcoholic who had decided to settle down
TheRedRand 10y ago
The church is no different than anywhere else - the degree of male/female dominance depends on the individuals. Here's a link to a VERY conservative Christian blog that touts the ideals of a polarized, Man-Is-Rock and Woman-Is-Helper in a relationship: http://nogreaterjoy.org/articles/recovering-the-skills-of-manhood/?topic_slug=fathers-leadership And this link, while talking about teens, has valuable insight into healthy, proper male/female relationships: http://nogreaterjoy.org/articles/why-are-my-teens-rebellious/?topic_slug=art-of-child-training
This man has some excellent things to say about life and relationships, and while he is ULTRA conservative, he is Red Pill AF.

Can't you just leave the church out of God's affairs and your relationship with Him? No modern church is speaking for Him anyway.

Not by dogmas. Not by references to allegedly holy books allegedly descended from alleged heavens.

The whole point of Christianity is to follow Jesus, who was perhaps the greatest masculine role model of all time, and who you seem reluctant to talk about.
The Church isn't falling apart specifically because of women, it is falling apart because men no longer imitate Christ.
AdonisLives 10y ago
I agree in some respect. When media and government seeps over into the Church, then you have a problem. Women simply do not contain the capacity to lead in a masculine driven religion. Christ was the alpha male and breed 11 alpha males(sorry Judas). He was merciful, but you also knew not to screw with him( flipping over tables in the Temple) he showed compassion and tenderness(Lazarus death) but also showed he could be masculine and a leader (pick up your cross and follow me).

Jesus: 1) Known to cry 2) Homeless, shit poor, in a blue collar job 3) Rolled around with an entourage of flaky back-stabbers 4) Told everyone he was the shit, but never followed through 5) Alternated between lying about having a rich dad and saying worldly pursuits are too petty for him anyway 6) Encouraged abstinence until marriage 7) Died a virgin
Yeah you go ahead keep using him as your masculine role model.

Christianity, and most religions in general, try to control the natural interactions of man and woman and only end up worsening the culture.
PanzerBatallion 10y ago
Lol
OR, how about this theory...
When you are the LOGICAL sex that is forced to take responsibility for their actions, illogical and contradictory doctrine and giving yourself up to a higher power isn't appealing?
Pretty hard to be responsible for your actions and then shrug and say "well, it must be part of God's plan."

Male 1: "Father, I've committed sin." Father: "What did you do" Male 1: "I killed someone, I raped someone, I cheated on someone. I am now truly regret about it." Father: "All your sins are forgiven. God will save you"
I said horseshit. God can't do jackshit to you since you haven't committed sin to him and he doesn't even exist. Youve committed sin to other people. Ask them for their forgiveness see if they can forgive you.

I see several reasons cited for a rejection of religion in this thread; government-church analogies, the relative "beta" nature of the congregations, or just some of the offenses committed under the color of God, like paedophilia.
How about the simplest one: that it just doesn't make sense.
It surprises me a subreddit with a strong subtext of accepting uncomfortable truth would actually need much coaxing to reject one of the most shackling and unsubstantiated claims of human history, simply because they would prefer it were the case.
SetConsumes 10y ago
That is the crux of it and why men tend not to need organized religion. Because it logically doesn't check out.
Women don't get hung up on the logical aspect and it feels nice to think that you'll see your loved ones again and bad people are punished, so, they keep believing in the parts that appeal.

Christianity isn't the same thing as the present culture.
Every society has its flaws, just follow the original Christianity from the Bible and ignore anyone else.
Also a feminine influence is perfectly fine within reason. 50% of the world are women, and they get to heaven like men do.

This may be just churches playing to the future and betting on the horse that stays in the barn
among active atheists & skeptics men way outnumber women. Just like the fraction of people that believe in astrology & psychics also skews one way.
I doubt that the churches have done it consciously & deliberately but maybe it's just a strategy of self-preservation?

I went to Pentecostal church one time .
The pastor emphasized that it is inappropriate for parents to hold hands In front of the kid .
He also mentioned it is inappropriate to have a drink in front of the kid.

Isn't that what God wants then? If the church is going that way, and God would never mislead his church, then he wants you to be subservient to girls as well as himself. The church I grew up in hired a shitty pastor, and the once 1000+ congregation (big and robust for bfe Nebraska farm communities) is down to about 50 people in less than 20 years.
The justification for him showing up and his tenure was God sent him to them. That means God wanted the church my family cofounded 120 years ago to expire. So if religion is on the decline, it's what he wants, according to the faith.
Or perhaps it's all bullshit made up by bronze age desert nomads as a way to explain the world around them, and expanded farther by Europeans trying to control the populace.
Either way, it makes perfect sense that it's in decline. Feminism is rampant in it, fact checking is easy with any smart phone, and kids aren't as easy to delude with fantastical stories about talking animals, flat earth, big floods, the devil, and creating the entire universe in six days. There will always be wilfully ignorant stalwarts demanding we all pray to the sky fairy and give him our money. The same type of ignorant fools are currently killing people in the mid east.
You do realize you can be non leftist, not liberal, and not be wilfully ignorant, right? Religion is not a requirement for not being one of these socialist fuckwits.

Church people are filled with hypocrisy and arrogance, they cheat on their taxes and cheat on their spouses but dismiss it all because they are "religious". It's fun to go to the local church on Sunday, flirt with the women right in front of their husbands and watch the tingles happen. I might go to hell if there is one but at least I'm honest. Fuck their hypocrisy.

Im Christian. And the sad truth is:You are completely right.
BlackJ1 10y ago
This isn't anything new.
It's kind of well known how people like to hide around churches and the title of "religious" to portray a character of good nature.
Just the other day I remember my mother trying to hook up my brother with a woman because: "She's a good Christian woman."
Going to church don't mean shit. You are just as likely to "sin" as a non-believer would.

The mosque in our city is right beside the brothel. That sums it up.
In another city (Pinneberg) there is also a mosque right beside the brothel and the Imam was complaining because he don't want to see hookers around the place he prays at. The brothel owner replied: "Well, if he doesn't want the brothel to be here, then why are 90% of my customers muslims?"
Was on the local news.

Could that be because more people get married in the bible belt?
jamthechef 10y ago
I am religious myself (Christian) and I agree with some parts of this post, but I also disagree with others.
I agree with this statement. Today's churches are dominated by femininity and there is a large presence of men being push overs or too nice. The average young church-going male today is a nice guy.
I agree with this as well. The Bible clearly states how a Christian man shall conduct himself, but the modern church does not follow these principles. Today, emphasis is on emotionalism rather than preaching Biblical fundamentals (and this is not only for men but for Christian topics in general). Biblical men such as Moses, David, Samson, Jesus, Paul, Job and others have all displayed what it truly means to be men and they're all probably shaking their heads in Heaven right now at today's Christian men and the lack of strong male leadership in the body of Christ.
This is where I disagree. Historically speaking, the main people who pushed Christianity along were all males, and God Himself is male (which is why we refer to him as "Father"). The twelve disciples were male, all of the major bible characters were male and the people who have spread the faith around the globe were mostly male. I agree that the execution of today's Christianity is done by women. You always hear someone say "Grandma always told me to read the Word" and almost never mention their grandfathers and Christianity in the same sentence. However, the faith (from the beginning at least) put emphasis on male leadership, male execution, and overall male dominance. Adam came before Eve, and when she ate from the tree the blame was put on Adam because HE was responsible for her (not going to elaborate further; maybe a different post).
Overall, the modern church is a shame and a disgrace compared to the early church. It does in fact have a feminine undertone in it as we can see from the rise in female pastors. This has been a destructive practice that will only continue to hinder the progress of the average Christian. However, the modern church's ways should not derail a person from practicing Christianity. A man needs to be responsible for his own faith, his own life, and should not allow a corrupt majority ruin his motivations. Self accountability and not getting distracted/discouraged is both a red pill AND a Christian truth.

Jax77789 10y ago
Well I think part of why the church is subservient to women is that it was conceived in a time when hypergamy and polygamy were regulated.
We had to make it a divine commandment for the man to give everything to one woman. For the woman we had to make her vows sacred as well. Both parties lost options but society gained as a whole in stability.
docbloodmoney 10y ago
Not even close, it's because modern protestants (and Catholics, frankly, since Friar Cuck's inauguration) completely ignore the teachings of the bible in favor of not hurting anybody's feelings. Big denominations in this day and age aren't even remotely representative of most of Christianity's existence, they have been taken over by fags and degenerates like everything else
[deleted] 10y ago
The church is no different to the government or the media. They are just a mirror image of the stupidity of their respective buyers. Societies which lack technological advancement are forced to embrace traditional gender roles, or the members of that society die. Imagine a tribe where the women had to do half the hunting?
Religion of any type is just a crutch for the masses. There is no true religion, if there was then they could back it up by performing miracles, but they cannot. Spirituality is best figured out for oneself. If someone else thinks they know better than you, they have something to sell you.

It depends on which Sect of Christianity you follow. The New Testament (majority teachings of Paul) are Red Pill as hell, and is a reason why I still believe in God, Christ or higher Deity. Paul literally listed why it is not wise for a woman to be head of anything, noting how Satan decieved Eve, not Adam. Seriously Paul was pretty RP. Feminist and most female "spiritualist" rebel against the New Testament purely because of Paul and his teachings
VasiliyZaitzev Senior Endorsed 10y ago
Christianity was Red Pill prior to the 60s or so, when the mainline Protestant churches (UCC = United Cucks for Christ) and a bit later the Catholic Church - and this Pope is at TOTAL pussy asshat - decided to go Full Beta.
The Western faiths have turned from "Christianity" to "Churchianity" and that's their problem. It's all about the ritual, now, and nothing about God. Ten Commandments? Nah, that might 'trigger' someone. Better call it the "Ten Suggestions". The concept of Headship? MISOGYNIST!!! So that has to go, too. So that's why if you go to a Catholic mass or a UCC service, you're going to see and elderly
child abuserpriest with a bunch of old ladies (Catholic) or a fat lesbian preaching a secular message to a small group of long hairs, plus some widows (UCC).And whatever you do DON'T go on Father's Day Sunday because the message will be to shit all over fathers.
Anyway, for those who are interested Dalrock (see the sidebar links) writes extensively about related topics from a Christian perspective. I'm an atheist and I enjoy his work.
