Long time TRP reader. I can confirm lifting does wonders to your external confidence. Bitches can mir what you're putting out there. Keep lifting!
Inner confidence is more complicated IMO since everyone's upbringing is different. A recent TRP post got me thinking I should pick up a martial art. There's BJJ, boxing, krav maga.. etc.
Our default is to avoid fighting. However, sometimes you have to. For gaining internal confidence in our abilities to defend or put on the offensive, what will spawn the best results within a year of training (3x a week ish)?
I heard krav maga is the best bang for your buck. Just a discussion.

I've been doing Boxing + Muay Thai - boxing essentials and it turns your shins into steel. Great conditioning work out - I substitute my former cardio days with Muay Thai. What's a good body if you don't know how to use it?

This - Went at the Boxing/Muay Thai for 2 years straight. That feeling when someone knocks down your drink at a club for no reason and instantly you go into your stance and think through in your head what combo you wanna use.. but instead the dude runs away.
However, you go back to the gym hyper focused to get your combo(s) more honed in and take it out on your training partner.
Goal is never to fight though but at that particular time things just clicked to me. Pick one and start going to find out which one is best for you. Have fun.

If you think those fat dudes can manage to pull the bitch at the club no matter their high confidence then you're delusional as fuck. It's all about HEIGHT, FACE, and FRAME

Every street fight I've been in (and there was only 2 where I didn't suddenly cold cock the guy while he was TALKING about fighting me)... real fights... I've gone low and swept the legs(once with my arms and then a hard bring down on sidewalk-ko), or abandoned the legs sweep(guy had a good instinct to spread his stance suddenly) and whaled on his nuts hard with upper cuts (yes several) . With a low guard these attacks are impossible.
If you are facing a real boxer sure he might clip you. I have never been in situations where I had to fight a truly skilled fighter of any sort. If you guys pick a fight with someone over a girl or some B.S there is a chance pull someone like me who has no qualms about smashing your nuts to fucking you up in the cheapest manner possible. It's not about points.
Dukes up fighting stance should only be used to sucker a guy like me into low blows.

One arm down while winding up a power punch with the other. "YALL MUSTVE FORGOT!"

I recommend doing Krav Maga for a year and here is why. As it is a military martial art, it was designed to give you the basics as quickly as possible, teaches you all the dirty tricks and it also focuses a lot on the mindset required to avoid fights and if shit hits the fan, survive them.
After you got the basics, you can move to a more specific martial art. I think boxing and thai boxing are the best for novice fighters and the most effective in street fights. You can also try BJJ if you are more interested in learning techniques.

Can agree that martial arts help your confidence. It's very comforting to know that you could beat someone up.
