Summary/Tl;Dr: Came across this subreddit about 5-6 days ago when it was subreddit of the day. Got hooked reading the sidebar. Discovered how beta I am. Got rid of most unproductive shit in my life. Starting lifting again. Asked a girl out on a date, went absolutely shit, was cringy af.
Love this stuff already.
BODY
Post is going to be pretty long, and I will try to sum it all up as much as possible. If you decide to read through it and leave me your thoughts I would appreciate that so much!
Little bit about me:
I'm a 17 year old guy, and probably the most beta possible. Since Highschool I have been a non-stop orbiter of multiple girls. Wasted so much time playing useless video-games that my eyes have become nearsighted. Smoked a lot of pot and drank a lot of alcohol to try and escape reality; that I am nothing but a wanking piece of shit with no value whatsoever. Tried to sum it up as best as I can.
But then
I came across this (tried linking but submission got removed twice) post on TRP being subreddit of the day. Never heard of TRP before. The post had a lot of mixed comments, both praising this subreddit and hating on it. The hateful comments were complete BS, mostly just emotional arguments, while some of the subreddit members commented things I found interesting. So I thought fuck it, why not. Read through the side-bar, soaked it up like a spunge. Quickly this world that I had always tried to fit into, but which never worked out for me, fell apart. Things finally started to make sense. To be honest it felt really good and really fucking shit. Rage was flowing through my body and mind. Couldn't really think straight so I decided to lift some steel in the gym, which I hadn't visited in about 6-7 months. When I was done I felt a little better. Got rid of my LoL account (I played about 40 hours a week, if not more). Felt really fucked up, I vomited when the confirmation e-mail came through.
Next days
Tried as much as I could to 'fix' my SMV. I looked like a fucking homeless kid. So I got a haircut, some actual decent clothes and a pair of shoes. Bought Buff Dudes' latest 12Week plan, went to the gym again.
Re-read the sidebar religiously and started watching RSD Tyler's videos. One of his videos talked about too much information actually being counterproductive.
And so I went out that night with my 'friends'. The bars that do allow younger guys are absolute crap. The girls are beyond trashy & slutty, I won't even get started on the guys.
The anonymity is good though, I wasn't planning on going out in the day, possibly making a fool out of myself and digging an even deeper hole. Approached about 8 girls until I called it quits. The first approach was so terrifying. There I was, shaking, my voice trembling, I felt like vomiting. Got turned down pretty cold.
Tapped her lightly on the shoulder. I had previously only seen her from behind so when she turned around I got even more nervous. This girl was way out of my league. First thing that came up to me was "I like your glasses, makes you look smarter.". As I said this I was cringing so hard from inside.
Doesn't matter anyway, first thing she said was "I don't talk to strangers." Don't know why you would say that considering you are in a bar but whatever (shit test?). She walked away and I had no idea what to say. Somehow I felt so great though. Going out of my comfort zone like that felt pretty good. Next approaches went better and better.
I got two numbers and I'm pretty proud of that, even though it's not much. One of the girls just never texted back when I tried to hit her up. Luckily, one did. Started looking up on here what I should say blablabla. Couldn't really find anything good for beginners on that topic so I just did my own thing. Next day I asked her out and she said yes!
The date
I was very hyped about this, but I tried not to get too much into my head. Had one pre-drink before I picked her off at work (on a bike, don't worry I don't drink and drive). The approach itself was already shitty, she was walking up to me looking at her phone.
I told her that "my eyes are up here". She laughed and I gave her a hug. After that I took her out to a healthy-food joint in my area. Things were okay in the start. We ordered food and talked a bit. Tried to get to know her better by asking what does she do for fun etc. Made statements instead of directly asking a question to avoid this turning into an interview as I read on here a few times.
The thing is that I was not getting much back except for maybe 3-4 words. This felt so fucking shit. What was I doing wrong? At some point I just had no idea what else to say and things got really awkward. Supposedly I shouldn't stay 'in my head', but my mind was just blank. I had nothing to say anymore. Don't really know how I can improve on that, I guess by getting more experience but hell I'm not doing that shit again if it's this awkward. After 5 minutes of awkwardly eating in silence I told her I had to go, paid the bill and got out. Felt cringy about it while going home and still do.
Final words
This journey so far has been one hell of an experience. Even though some things do feel like shit, the idea of improving myself is really worth it. I'm still surprised how fast the last few days have gone. It's going to be one heck of a job to get out of the shit hole that I am in, and I can't wait to see where I will be in a few years from now.
Now that I've had a small taste of the truth and of all these possibilities, I know that I will never let go and I will never go back. I am looking forward to contributing to this subreddit. Thank you guys!
EDIT:
Thank you for all the comments, I've definitely gotten some really useful tips. Going to continue the grind and see where I end up!
If any other new guys that discovered TRP are looking for a chat just hit me up in PM and I'll try to help with whatever you're going through.

Good work. I wish I had that kind of balls at your age. A few words of advice I'll add is never ever do food on a first date. Always pick an activity. Doesn't matter what. Mini golf, bowling, arts festival, gallery stroll, go to the arcade, whatever. Stuff like this frames the date as fun. If the conversation goes stale, you can focus on the activity as opposed to sitting in awkward silence as you've found out on your food date. Activities also makes Kino much easier. When you first see her start with the easiest one, a hug. The next easiest one I like is when you open a door for her, guide her in with your hand on the small of her back. After that, touch her leg or arm when you are about to say something. Playful bumps, shoves, get creative and keep escalating to the kiss that's bound to happen.
One other big thing is to be relaxed and comfortable, even if you're not. This is effective not just on dates but any social situations. It will help put everyone at ease, yourself included, and help the convo flow.
Keep at it and you'll be slaying in no time.

Thanks RedBloodline for a wonderfully homest and well written OP -- it's well worthy of being stickied as you cover so much so well, and you have really tried to get DOING the things you're learning about here, about self improvement and the SMV benefits it carries, as well as the wonderful information on The Truth about the 'Blue Pill' world and how taking TRP will change your life forever, things can never be the same!
I could say so much to you but two things stood out where I feel I may be able to help
BALLSY bro! Talk about 'getting into it' ... and swinging for the fences with some HB, I like it!
The elementary mistakes you made here were:
whenever you approach a girl, already have an idea of how you're going steer the conversation -- and preferably make a statement as your opening comment to her, as if you're already in the middle of a conversation with her and are now making another remark; i.e. (at a bus stop, IF it's windy) "Gee it's windy, I quite like it"- Her "Yes it's sure wild compared to yesterday, I can't say I'm a big fan of this 'change of seasons blustery weather" an IOI of a response, ,, or maybe she just says "Yeah" and looks away? So what? NBD,, and at which point there's probably no point in pushing it further! So don't, move on, Abundance right?
Or you're at a bar/club that has bands/DJ's so you might say "The Foobars are playing first, Yeah?" -- that's a question framed as a statment, they comes across a bit more 'self assertive' and confident
To use this method to begin talking as if you're in "mid conversation" with the girl takes a little practice BUT if you've got the balls to cold approach, more power to you little bro, this is for You!-
sometimes the girls can be a bit taken aback, as, for a split second, you've knocked them off balance and out of control psychologically, but they'll usually respond in a similar way to how you asked, women will naturally accept a mans lead if it's an acceptable request. You Need to "express your confidence and comfortabilty with yourself" in those first few lines (and then it's ALL up to what you say and do next.)
ProTip: And IF she's giving you lots of IOI's --- after a few minutes of chatting, when she's looked away for a minute FADE! And go do the same thing to another girl -- and then 'reappear' 30mins later to "continue the conversation" and then Fade again -- by the 3rd time you return, if this chick wants to get with you she'll be letting you Know coz she doesn't want you to 'fade' again and possibly not return! ((especially If she's seen you talking to other women, her hamster will be working overtime and ready for you to "take control of and soothe") "she's just a friend, you're waaay more than that, you're .... Big Grin, stop talking ... 'Her" "whaaaaaaat? What are you smiling about?" (she knows Full Well, it's a shit test 101) but you can simply deflect and change the subject
TL:DR Keep her/them guessing
Oh, and NEVER 'tap a girl on the shoulder'! (cringe!) Bro, just 'appear' within her peripheral vision or even right beside her, and after 20-30secs when you notice her turn your way, just casually "make your remark/statement/question"
Next was; and is a Perfect example of what you mentioned about RSD Tyler 'confusing too much RP ideas at once'
Matey, Game 101, Rule 1: "Women tend to Love to talk about themselves!
So the 'art' of starting a productive conversations IS "asking questions" BUT, the type that allows the other person to talk about themselves, (something most women love to do) but once they've said enough, they settle down and become more comfortable with you and then it's easier for everyone. It doesn't always work, but it's my go to and I do ok :D
And as you know, ask questions, not as an 'interrogation' and try to be original, not "what do you do for work, do you like it" but more something like:
"I saw these guys hot air ballooning across the city one morning and I think it would be a really fun thing to do. The views, So quiet, like a bird! Would you be up for doing it?" -- to which a common response would be "Oooh nooo! I'm scared of heights" Or, "IDK if I'd trust a baloon!" or "Didn't you see that ballon crash into the powerlines and everyone on board was fried?!? 0.0
Now, at that point, you've got several more things you know about her, which gives you more things you can ask her more about to get her talking about herself, you can make a joke here and there, throw in some personal anecdotes and before you know it, a couple of drinks later she's telling you stuff "she never tells anyone" ,, and the conversation is flowing easily, hehe! And then you know you're in for some Fun!
I hope I was able to answer that question in this post, feel free to PM me bro if you have ANY questions or want some feedback about whatever.
Thanks again for such an Honest and well written OP

Good FR. The anger is natural and will pass if you adopt the right attitude. You will never have much luck with women if you deal with them from a place of anger; choose indifference over hate if you must. Women are people too, they can potentially be an ally or an enemy like anyone else. It gets easier as you learn the nature of men and women instead of the politically correct fantasy much of the western world is drown in.
At your age you must be aware your biological imperative to reproduce is at its strongest your entire life and will cloud your judgement for nature to get it's way so remember to always cover your ass. Some of the irrational seeming things women do in men's minds is their way of satisfying their biological imperatives and are sometimes impaired in judgement by their hormones too. It's nothing personal just the business of nature. Women socially have the upper hand and act like the in-demand party but it's really the other way around in the end. ~54 percent of the worlds population is women, technically men are the minority. You will never have the time, energy, or money to meet them all even after you filter out the ineligible. You can say and do the same things and one girl will say no and another one may say yes.
You are correct in not binging on info. What I suggest is work on yourself; lift, read, practice. Read the sidebar and put TRP down a few days and just go out and work on things to get experience. Then come back and re-read to glean new insights with more experience then go back out and repeat honing your knowledge. That technique works for more than TRP in life you may find.
Good luck man.

Learn about frame bro. Confidence alone can skyrocket your SMV.
SkorchZang 10y ago
It's really a numbers game man, especially if you pick up at bars. You're like buckshot, you spray and pray. Most of it will be a total miss, but you don't give a shit, you're in for the couple hits you do randomly score. You may not realize it but the environment itself is working against you, girls are expecting to be approached nonstop and expecting to turn down everyone as cruelly as possible, it's all just part of the game there and you never take it personal, simply keep on trucking with zero thoughts about the one that just walked away. Next! Next! NEXT! Becoming a beastly no-fucks-given approach machine may feel shitty at first, but it'll steer you in exactly the right direction where all the further more subtle refinements of your game are already waiting for you to come take them aboard.
In fact it's kinda reassuring to know you cannot possibly completely fail with this "horror buckshot" approach. Some girl will always want to go for it, no matter how low SMV you look and feel at the moment, there's always going to be that unquantifiable factor that just makes her into you, you don't know why. So you smirk and ride the wave as it comes at you, as best you are able. Slowly, by steps and bounds you realize that a girl's judgements about you do not mean shit, she's not evaluating you in any objective way, and you don't even need her approval in the first place to feel good. The Red Pill takes on these "holy shit" enlightenment moment qualities the deeper you go, and you become frighteningly, excitingly free.
The actual skill of not giving a fuck about repeated "failure" and "awkwardness" is itself at the core of your RP toolset, and you'll be amazed how much girls are attracted by it, once it grows on you some more. They can SMELL that devil-may-care seen-it-all-before attitude on a man, and to girls it's somehow a sure sign that you're amazing. (Ha Ha Har)
Your response style and the funnies you used with the girls show great potential, if you ask me. You're just short on practice for now. You're going to be a major smart-alec heartbreaker once you put in the time and adjust, it's already obvious.

Awesome work on being honest with yourself.
I like RSD.. .but bear in mind their business model is "pay us to tell you how you can say the right words and get any hot girl into your bed". Some stuff about inner game. Very little truth about women. Those guys know TRP very well, but their focus is on verbal/physical game rather than the importance of your SMV. Fits with their business model.
That being said... the bits that they do talk about, they're very good at and their stuff has helped me a lot.
Actually this is a great line.
Not a shit test, not the truth. It's a line to get rid of you. Oh well, next, whatever :)
Great work on your approaches and numbers and date. Keep it going like this and everything just gets easier and better. And keep hitting the gym... and focus on your life purpose and mission and learn to make it a higher priority than women.
RedBloodline 10y ago
Thanks for the reply!
I agree on what you said about their business plan. This shines through even stronger for different RSD coaches (Todd). I'd rather stick to watching their free YouTube videos and dropping a like/subscribe as a token of appreciation.

MMO's are probably the most cancerous addictions for younger guys. So happy that I got rid of it and that I can impossibly go back to my account (honestly screw the gaming industry). And yeah, I'm kind of trying to embrace the discomfort/cringe as long as it's not too much.
icecow 10y ago
This is more of a 'monk mode' context, but something to keep in mind.
You are going to be addicted to one thing or another in life. The trick is to get addicted to things that bring SMV, and financial security instead of things that worsen your position like MMOs, and the lower end of fast food.
A strategy I employ to workout, read worthwhile stuff (instead of hours of mind insulting tv), eating better, etc. is not to focus on day to day self reports, but to set longer less mind taxing goals.
Did I eat a reasonable mean? Check, Yes. Has 6 months passed? No: If no don't bother to compare yourself to when you started eating right.
Am I studying every day and doing my University shit? Check, Yes. Has the semester ended? No: You are in no position to judge if school is for you.
Am I working out properly 4 times a week? Yes, check. Has 6 months gone by? No: you are in no position to judge the worth of working out.
Not only does this work, but you begin to understand the power of employing zen states of mind.

Stickied as an example to other newcomers.
This is how it starts. With small victories. Big ones will come later.

OP has some enormous balls for just discovering TRP and already throwing himself into the line of fire like that.
Good shit OP, you'll learn so much more in one night of rejections supplemented with reading than a hundred nights of reading supplemented with some experience.
[deleted] 10y ago
OP claims he's beta, but he is still a kid and is acting very alpha by rapidly accepting the pill and making such a major lifestyle change. He's going to slay pussy in his 20s once he fully digests the pill
[deleted] 10y ago
Agreed. So much rests on your willingness to get out there and do it. OP is seventeen. Think about that for a moment. If he keeps this up... 18, 19, 20... his twenties will be fucking amazing, and then the magic 30's! Jesus.
OP, you are doing PRECISELY the right thing.
One tip: Do NOT ever worry about what to say. You have to do three things... kino, escalate, isolate. That's it. There are only 4 possible outcomes.
You're into it, she's not.
She's into it, you're not.
You're both not into it.
You're both into it, and you have a new plate.
It's math. Nothing more, nothing less.
In order of precedence for you at your age: Keep lifting Keep approaching

Came here from the subreddit of the week thread.. That was closed by a girl moderator because feelz. Not surprising.
Keep learning, keep getting rejected because getting rejected doesn't mean shit, but it means you're out there putting in the work. You don't get rejected of you don't try, so keep going until you get it. I was 17 when I figured it out way back in the 80s. Once I got it I was off on a wild sex adventure. Two weeks after the first I got the second, a very sexy redhead, and the number kept climbing. My batting average is very low, I was rejected a lot, but only the yes counts and is remembered.
The big thing I'll advise is, never get married, wrap it up and take it home with you. The fastest way to fuck up your future is by being forced to pay some bitch for 20 years.
Keep trying, continue learning.
[deleted] 10y ago
How did you started all with just few days and there are people who still mentally masturbate with TRP after even 2 years, what is the difference, if you were beta as same as most of people here. Most of us have similar starting point but you started within first week while others still masturbate..
[deleted] 10y ago
That's a lot of progress in a week and you should be proud with how far you've gone!
Unholy_VI 10y ago
Your ability to own your results, good or bad, is a very strong trait and as many have said already, finding this stuff out before you even leave high school...
Your college years are going to be truly insane!
And for the record: "I like your glasses, they make you look smarter." Is pure gold. I'm going to use it myself. You just complimented the chick on her glasses and said she's stupid at the same time. That's awesome!
d4ng3rz0n3 10y ago
I think it's awesome you are figuring this out at 17.
Think about what you just did in just a short amount of time: You studied the material and took immediate actions to better yourself.
You then withdrew and went out in to the world, faced 8 rejections, got 2 numbers and 1 date. The date was shit (probably more due to the venue you met this person and frankly your age group, which is not a knock, just the truth).
The fact that you did this is an awesome start.
Approaching and dealing with rejection is such a good thing to experience, and will help you a lot when it comes to business ($$) and women in the future. You are at the beginning of an awesome journey and it will only get better if you stick to it.
KKP4 10y ago
A question for the experienced guys:
How do you get through this situation? I happens to me a lot and I'm completely lost.
phibetared 10y ago
What classes are you taking? What's your favorite? Why?
Are you a writer? You seem to me like you'd be a writer. Really, you are? What do you like to write? (Many women think they are writers... like the world is (or should be) very interested in what they think and write down)
Are you a beach girl or more of a horse back riding girl?
Who is your favorite author? (really, why?) Be prepared to tell her what your favorite book is, and why. Stress the adventure of it, or the awesome descriptions in it, or whatever. Something that is emotional. Not just "it's about bla bla".
And you.. you can tell her you are a recovering video game player. I loved playing, but I've had enough. Time for new things (meaning it's time for her to try new things, meaning you)
There's no reason she is going to be good at having a conversation. (con-verse = with verse. The object is to go back and forth. A little of you, a little from her. Take what she says, add your own thoughts, and ask what she thinks. One verse from you, one from her, and so on).
How does that make you feel? (This question makes me cringe, but women are into feelings) Where did you find out about that? How many times did you do that? Really? That's so cool, what is your favorite part about it?
Really? That sounds cool. Me, I've never been horsebackriding like you, but I did go jetskiing once. It was so awesome to feel the wind blowing... the waves splashing... you ever been jetskiing? Oh, I should take you some time.
It's important that YOU be able to guide the conversation as she is not likely to good at it either. So take what she gives you and tack on something. If she gives you nothing, you can change topics (have you heard that one song? seen that one video? What do you think about it?) or tell one of your set stories. (A story she might find interesting that tells good things about you).
ECoast_Man 10y ago
The Vanguard here is dead on. You can say anything that isn't cringe-worthy on topics of broad appeal. In /u/YouDislikeMyOpinion 's example there are actually two broad appeal topics there which makes that brilliant - travel and food. She is likely to bite on at least one of those. Others examples include - school/college, sports, music, etc.
For the record with OP, I'm chalking that one up to both of these people are relatively new at it, thus she is likely contributing to the difficulty level.
[deleted] 10y ago
Travel, try new sports, new activities, meet interesting people, etc. Build your life experiences and you'll never run out of things to say. Alternatively, get into improv and learn how to create worlds out of thin air
YouDislikeMyOpinion 10y ago
This is just my two cents
I've never really had this. You can talk about anything and trail off. You don't even need to be talking about something that is true.
You can just throw something out there "I was thinking about hitting up cuba this summer, those resorts are so nice" - trail off about anything vacation related. She probably has 5 relevant stories of her own vacations or her friends vacations. You can talk about the food. You can talk about the ways of life. Absolutely anything. Just engage her and make sure the conversation is not dull. That means that you have to engage her emotionally.
Just a random example:
Guy: I was thinking about hitting up cuba this summer, those resorts are so nice
Girl: No response
Guy: Last time I was down there I had a paella, have you ever had one?
Girl: I don't know what that is
Guy: talk about food
Now you can engage her about the kinds of food she likes, her favorite meal from any of her past vacations, why it was her favorite meal, etc. Note that you're not interviewing her, your finding talking points. Also note that you probably don't want to talk about something that she's talked about her entire life. That's boring for her, you want to engage her with something new.
Imagine it this way, someone is talking to you and they keep bringing up engineering, economics, math, etc, and you know nothing about those things or you don't want to talk about them. Then they mention something that relates to you, something that you have knowledge of, something that you want to talk about, something that you find interesting. Your response will become positive.
KKP4 10y ago
This worked like a charm. I met up with this girl who actually travels a lot and asked some questions (not too much), made witty statemets and she just opened up. She even broke all the awkward silences first with word fillers and re-initated the conversation every time.
After 30min of talking I used some light kino and she responded with some strong IOI. I had to force myself to listen because she was boring me at some points in time but nevertheless my "experiment" was a success. It even landed me a second date when she returns from her trip.
Thank you, /u/YouDislikeMyOpinion
thisisathrowaway2703 10y ago
I've currently got a plate who is 3rd year law school HB7. Shittest banter ever. I can only talk to her if I do all the work. Shes smart (comparatively to most plates) but I have to do all the work when we talk. I'm seriously considering dropping her just because shes so boring. The sex is actually really good but seriously, she is so fucking dull I just talk shit and laugh at how stupid my banter with her is because the only way it works is if i take the piss.
[deleted] 10y ago
Silences are excellent things. When you feel there is an awkward silence, embrace it, make love to it right there and then. If you feel the awkwardness the other person does to... and they feel it with noise on which you can ask more questions and expand on.
Never feel awkward in silence.

For complete info on game, read roosh's Bang and day bang, or mark Manson's Models.
Another thing missing: at 17, your life experience is naught compared to a guy who is 27 who's hitchhiked through Europe, learned to surf, read many classic books, developed a passion for whiskey. Invest some of that time you freed up in gaining life experience.
Wel108 10y ago
Great Post OP
Keep doing what you're doing it'll all pay off later. I have some things i can contribute to your issues.
Don't do food dates, it requires a lot of talking. Unless you have a whole lot of stories to tell of exciting things you've done, avoid this. Instead, do exciting things: kayak, fish, go to the park, have a dog? Dog park, roller blade, cycling, swimming, beach, hiking, mountain climbing. Action dates are always better, because it's much easier to lead her, and for her to feel that masculine side of you. So do something you're good at.
Download this app called 36 questions. It has tons of interesting questions, you might enjoy talking about with different people. The more you have these conversations with different girls, the better you'll get at answering and figuring out what works, what doesn't work, and more importantly, what it is you actually value. You'll kill hours talking. But choose a comfortable location to talk. The beach on a towel, a picnic, a swing set at a park, it just all depends on your area. Somewhere you can break the touch barrier easily. Somewhere around the time when you're talking, look at her body language. If she's smiling and receptive to you, kiss her. She'll be completely open to it. Women enjoy good conversations of substance, as long as you're not saying mushy shit, you're making her laugh and using kino you're good. Once you start kissing and touching it's over.
Little by little as you raise your SMV and go on dates, you'll be unaffected by women, and you'll become more and more stoic. What will begin to matter is your happiness. Instead of getting women, or impressing others. Enjoy your journey.

Dude, you are lucky. I am 28 and have to catch up quite a bit. Keep up the work, it will pay out - in all life areas ;)
HumanSockPuppet Vanguard 10y ago
Even if you're 28 and "catching up", you are in a better position than all of the men who stepped into their graves never knowing that there was a better option - and a chance at a better life.
Become the best man you can with the time that you have now. No one can tell you how to spend it. Not anymore.
RPFlame 10y ago
Exactly. It's catching up compared to the ideal time when we would like to know the basic stuff our fathers or any "masculine" figure failed to teach us. But from a bird's eye view it's better now than later or even never.

Nice job and welcome! That vomit was hot blue filth leaving your body.
Caring to much what she says or doesn't say. Leave her sitting there while you go talk to another girl and she will open right up. Also, girls don't always use "words" to speak. Use her language- emotions. She is not a guy friend that you are going to discuss the nuances of politics and philosophy.
Read the Book of Pook immediately. Pook will get your head on straighter, quicker, than anybody else.

You're doing everything great and putting a lot more effort into this than the majority of posters here.. It's just a matter of doing this over and over and seeing what works for you. I'd suggest checking out good looking loser on youtube and employing some of his approach anxiety exercises.

Looks like you're off to a great start. It will all come with time. Take everything in moderation (including this sub) and stay positive.
P.S. Don't fear silence.
[deleted] 10y ago
Only thing to keep in mind is that you are young. Your SMV can increase by working on yourself but keep in mind it will naturally increase over time. Therefore, keep trying over time and you will get where you want to get.

I'm 17 as well and I found this powerpoint to be extremely helpful.

"Way out of your league." You are a man and she is a woman, that's all there is. Let HER decide that.
You are doing good. Results take a while. How are your work/study right now? At that age you should focus on that and lifting.
[deleted] 10y ago
I was thinking same thing. Your SMV will increase exponentially while hers is top tick or damn close to it.
Never treat any girl as out of your league. Let her figure that out for herself without your help.
RedBloodline 10y ago
Thank you for your comment. I'm currently working 3 nights a week at a restaurant washing dishes (small salary to pay monthly costs). School is good, graduating this year if all goes well.
Raikkonen716 10y ago
This is excellent, are you planning to go to college? You do any sport?
I suggest both, sport increases smv, and it is useful because you stay in a competitive environment, while getting a degree will help you with your career. There will be a point where money will have a huge impact on your smv and your life in general. But i think you can already see this among your friends, even if you're just 17 yo.

Good job taking action.
On the club scene: your tapping her on the shoulder isn't bad, but it isn't good. Try to catch her glance or meet her eyes when you can; it can slightly warm up an otherwise "cold" approach.
There's a whole field of subcommunication you can explore, before the first words are exchanged.
Your nerves are normal. People without nerves on a first meeting are uncommon. I have progressively (over time) internally reframed them to myself as excitement, which allows me to enjoy them rather than dread them. Much like soreness after lifting became the feeling of progress. It altered that feeling to something I missed when I'd skip a day or days working out. Different people have different degrees of nerves and you have to start where you are and work with that.
Your date actually wasn't bad as a learning experience. Next time take things another step or so. The reason you bailed was that you didn't know where you were going. Think about that. What would you have liked to have happened? Next time, try something else, and see if you like what happens then.
Marsupian 10y ago
Good job on taking action. Dont do eat dates when you havent made a connection yet. With an eat date you never know if shes genuinly interested or using you for a free meal.
Awkwardness could just be her not being into you due to low SMV. Could also be you being nervous, too much in your head, lack of physical contact, not making her comfortable enough etc.
Id focus on lifting and just getting more social experience for a bit. Youll get better with time. Also dont wear graphiv tshits.

Forcetobereckonedwit 10y ago
Hell yeah little brother. Just keep at it. Read, digest, implement, practice, improve, repeat. I wish I had found TRP theory when I was a teen. Proud of you. Go go go.
IKickHorses 10y ago
first thing she said was "I don't talk to strangers." Don't know why you would say that
What she said was "I don't talk to those who have no obvious social proof or pre-selection" If she saw you be cheered upon your arrival by your friends, followed by somebody through the bar, or recognized by the bartender, you would have heard an entirely different reply.
If you continue to work on you, it will come to you.
[deleted] 10y ago
Wether it's a lack of preselection, or that you aren't buff enough or more likely that she could sense your low SMV though the nervousness of your body language, she simply meant "sorry, I'm not interested in you" but blew you off using a kinder (but obviously not true) general statement as a consideration for your ego
icecow 10y ago
<warning: This turned in to a stream of conscience rant. I think I'll believe all of this still when I read it back in a few hours>
Two things here. Saying "I don't talk to strangers" instead of "sorry, I'm not interested in you" is not kinder. It's more selfish. She is covertly securing an outcome that better suits herself at the the males expense of never getting any sensible tangible feedback, not caring if that male walks through life forever confused.
The second part here is for a guy to understand this is not a personal attack from her view. The equivalent is if some guy comes to your front door selling solar panel packages. Being new, it is absurdly important to him to sell you a solar panel package. Maybe you were about to buy a different brand, but telling him that won't help. Maybe you are just turned off by his sales abilities and don't want to chance what quality the product will turn out to be. Maybe his thirst to make the sell for his benefit without any regard for benefits you have makes it a no-go. You already know from past experiences if you tell him "you are not interested" he will lower his head really deeply, or come back and try to explain more detail of why it is a good idea, so you tell him you have don't have the money. He kinda knows you do have money, but at least he will bow out in a more comfortable way. He feels lied to. He goes away. You don't give a fuck.
It's not that you have it in for this solar sales guy. If you learned he started selling affordable high quality ski boots and became very successful you'd have no reason to be sour. You just didn't want the solar package and don't give a fuck about someone who is trying to jimmy in a sale.
So the shit replies women say to men isn't nice, it's just self serving shit. However, any feelings of seething hate for this is your own weakness, any conspiracy thoughts that women is saying this self serving shit because they hate you, or men, is your own completely wrong psychological bullshit that you have to work out. It's your end not hers.
The solution is to properly frame these situations in your mind. She's telling you self serving shit because you didn't take care of your side of things, including the basic self respect of not getting 'butt hurt' every time you try to sell a solar package awhile wearing shorts and flip flops and someone says no, and not wearing shorts in the first place, that if you have value, you have value, and that people are in different stages in their life and often say no based on that alone. Stuff like that. If you are so mentally limited that a 'no' means you are permanently fucked, 'nothing changes' etc. you are stuck in adult child mode, which so many people are. On the other hand, that's where we all start so you just have to embrace life, frame things more correctly and get over it.
No matter what your age, you have to start. This is why when people give field reports like OP's lunch date: He asked some questions, 5 minutes of silence, he said he had to get going. As far as I'm concerned he won. He's the one that left. I don't mean he and her were playing a game and he won. I mean he won because he demonstrated he is control of his own facilities and was able to move on, move forward instead of wallowing in the tar pits. Lessons learned [perhaps] from this lunch date ([perhaps] because honestly I wasn't there to really say): OP was in position to see girls want to be lead, and he didn't know how to lead yet (leveled up, objective complete, new objective: learn to lead); girls don't know shit and have to begine to figure stuff out at some point too (don't judge quicky / don't judge yourself quickly); She showed up!. There's many real lessons if you stop to look back, just make sure you aren't wearing your loser lenses, and the best way not to wear loser lenses is to work out, eat well, etc till you have value.
[deleted] 10y ago
Good job so far! 2 tips to improve:
Never eat on the first date, save that for 3rd or 2nd date. Go for a walk or something fun.
Here are the 5 steps of kino:
Kino the target as you would and should to anyone in the group. Light elbow and shoulder touches and plenty of em. DO IT ASAP!!! The longer you wait the more awkward it's going to be later. Do this in conjunction with attraction material. Stand the same length away as you would with a dude and make sure you're not invading they're psychological space. Stand at an angle and be open. This is still friendly, non- threatening touching. She should be laughing and bantering with you.
The set has hooked, they like you and want you to stay. Step a little closer; a satranger would feel a bit uncomfortable with where you are at. I'll start doing play hugs now when I call her a brat or bust on her for something. I'll kino behind the back and probably on the hip. You're still sorta perpendicular and her psychological space is still safe. This is still in attraction phase.
She likes you now and is attracted. She likes you, but needs to know more. Lighten up on the attraction, do some light rapport and vibing. Start gather facts and getting to know her now. Now when you kino, it is more special and personal, your hands will stay for a few seconds, slide them down her arm, across her back. Also now you will turn in to her and invade her psychological space you are face to face with her and a stranger would step back from you. Start mirroring her a bit. I might kino both hands on her hips when I am saying something deep. Also the point of the psychological space invasion is in part to isolate; this is how that "Bubble" is created where it is just you and her. Try to isolate here if you like.
Even closer now. I'll be perpendicular to her again, but my arm is around her and our hips are probably touching. I can leave my hand behind her and on her hip. The hand test (If you grab her hand, she'll hold on to it) should work here or in step 3. I'll bring down my tone and whisper in her ear, I should get face to face kino. I can also reach across her body and kino her hip and leave my hand there. a sincere complement would be nice here too :). This is also the step where she will start to kino you back and leave her hands on you or drag them after kinoing.
Gelu_sf 10y ago
I second this. Food dates are shit. Most restaurants have you sitting opposite to each-other, and kino is severely affected because of this.
The only things that work in this scenario are either her extending her arms so you can naturally touch them across the table, or play under it... which if it happens you're IN LIKE FLYNN. But odds of that happening on the fiirst date are close to 0.
Also, sitting across from someone is an adversarial position.
Now, there are some things that you can do in case you get to this scenario... you can have a corner table, or sit her to your side. But still, you have a table acting as a barrier.
Later edit: If you really like the girl (physically, because you don't know her enough to like her otherwise) , food dates have one distinct advantage: it filters out the gold diggers. A girl that offers to pay for her shit naturally is (at least on the surface) of higher value. A girl that wants your money is not worth wasting your time on.

This is so true, it's the hardest shit about TRP.. I've found this sub 1.5years ago, and have never found any good advice on talking, no matter how much I searched or asked for it..
As you said in your OP, my mind also just blanks out often when conversing with people (not just girls) and no matter how much experience I try to get, it's barely helping unfortunately, but I'm still trying.

Li0nhearted 10y ago
No, game rather. (Sry 4 the late response) So how to start conversations n what to talk about when gaming girls.
Books like Making friends and influencing people cover normal conversation good imo, but any knowledge on that too is always welcome
[deleted] 10y ago
Good on you OP. You are off to a flying start in life. Just keep it up. One thing which is missing from your post is your mission. You should have some idea what you want to do or be and work towards it everyday. If you focus on your mission and the gym, then everything else in life will be easier. Add in meditation and practising game and you will be unstoppable in life. I am a successful businessman in my early 40s and I can already tell you will go very far with your attitude.
[deleted] 10y ago
TRP need more men like you. Not theory geniuses that are in rage phase for 20 years and write AWALT stories all day long, but people who go outside, get experience first hand and learn from it.

To other newbies on TRP: op's post is an example of how to post correctly.
To everyone else getting all harsh with the teenager:
We know he doesn't have much to contribute at this point, but he followed the rules, so no need to curb stomp him.

Fair point. It's a good perspective

Just look at it like a child opening his eyes for the first time, taking his first step and falling.
Hell, I'm at a point now where I don't even go on dates anymore. Dates suck. So it was like looking at history almost.
_Travis_Bickle_ 10y ago
OP, When you are on a first date with a girl try to do something that doesn't result in you both sitting on a table facing each other. Instead take her to a museum or a bowling alley, have a few alcoholic drinks in a trendy bar whilst both of you sitt on bar stools rubbing arms but not facing her. The alcohol will loosen her tongue and shield.
The date doesn't have to be totally bases on conversation.
For example if you take her to a museum you'll find that you'll have a lot more topics to discuss with her due to visual stimulation and the conversation will flow easier. Your also in a better position to give and receive what is called kino (light body contact)
Give it a try on your next date and see if it helps. GL

Loved this read. Always brings a smile to my face seeing the first few steps of the newbie. Settle in, for the road ahead is long and hard, but the results will be there.
To cover off what you appear to be looking for... there are two text guides I'd recommend, both as parts of online/internet/mobile dating guides.
Last but not least, for when you're out in the field running game on chicks, you can check my submissions history to find my TRP Field Toolkit. It's a 4 part series outlining and explaining all base game used to navigate the vast majority of situations you'll ever come up against in the field, taking you from meeting to sex. Best of luck lad! Send any questions to AskTRP and you'll likely get covered by at least one Endorsed Red Pill Man.
elevul 10y ago
Since you bought the Buff Dudes training program I assume you have no issues investing money in this, so I WARMLY recommend buying the two RooshV books, "Bang" and "Day Bang". These are going to be your bibles for the Game, and help you in all the issues you've written about it this post.
Poke_Red 10y ago
I was in the same situation, Day Bang worked well for me. Bang is great too, just for different social situations.
elevul 10y ago
Well, Bang is for the basics. Day Bang builds upon what was written in Bang, so the best choice is to read both in succession.

On the contrary, these absolute beginner FR's are necessary to show to others just starting out what those first steps and first days on TRP look like on a tactical level. Most FR's are from men already well on their way, with tangential mentions of how they started, giving insufficient granular details to new subscribers of just how and in what context they started.
It's easy for those who have been practicing the philosophy for years to tell newbies "just pick something, anything, and start". It's true, but without some practical FR's showing newbies that others just like them did it, it's not compelling. Telling others "just do it" doesn't deliver the epiphany of how to start, in the same manner that many reading the sidebar got that epiphany of why it is important to start.
Motivation is just fee-fees, and "Sidebar TRP'ers" has been commonly observed. Sometimes, some men need a peer who simply tells them, "here, I did it, now you go do the same" to push them over the edge to spark that fee-fee into initial action. From then on, it is up to the individual man to find their own willpower to fan that spark into a plasma arc of continuous action.
If you didn't need that spark, and talking about it can piss you off, then move on. It doesn't matter how we initially picked up the tools in this toolbox. It only matters that we pick them up and use them to our individual situations' advantage.
We don't need an explosion of these newbie FR's, but enough to leaven the experienced RP'rs FR's will help solidify the call to action, especially during new-subscriber spikes.

RedBloodline 10y ago
It's just a FR. That's all it is. Wether you post a FR about being Chad or about starting, there's always room for learning/contribution. Don't see how your comment contributes to anything though. And even if it's been a week, so what? If you have a plan and work that plan, time becomes nothing but a statistic. RSD Sam as an example got his game down within a few months. Good for you though that you got your shit together.
[deleted] 10y ago
Would you like an attaboy? Some praise?
Good for you, doing basic shit. Shall I break out the champagne?
If you want praise for this, then you're not doing this properly. Telling mom how great youre Doing isn't the point. This isn't valuable for others.
But great job. High fives for everyone. When he grows up, no one cheers him, but they'll shit on his achievements if he wants back pats.
There's a lesson here. No one gives a shit except the value you provide. Call me a prick and dismiss it, but you'll get told this a lot in your life.
RedBloodline 10y ago
Not going to call you a prick for dropping your thoughts, I'd rather thank you for that. I'll just copy this from another comment.
[deleted] 10y ago
I'll take the initiative then - he's a prick. The accusation was that you came here looking for validation, when in reality you are excited and wanted to thank everyone.
Good work.
[deleted] 10y ago
Little too harsh, the kid is new and has a great attitude. Surely you once looked for guidance and asked for help
[deleted] 10y ago
Yeah, ursusg made a fair point on it. Plus op took it like a shit test and nuked it good.
Can't fault him for that, he will do well, I'm too used to married 2 week warriors, and the Swift kick in the ass, and went off a little half cocked cocked
BluepillProfessor 10y ago
I was ready to do the same thing until I read it. This was not a post saying: "I fucked up my life and marriage by being a bitch to everybody and everything so...fix it for me so I don't have to do anything." Instead this had real substance and actions taken. He unplugged, read the sidebar, approached and flirted with a girl, and went on his first date the very first week! Most married guys stumble around in a daze for a month when they first unplug.
I also really love how he responded to you. I know some crusty old married guys who delete their accounts like a bitch who could learn a lot from him.
The kid is going to make it.
[deleted] 10y ago
Yeah, it had frame... More than some approved guys we know ;)

Snufek 10y ago
Okay, so why did you post it? What value does your post create and what can we learn from it?
By such posts? Let me tell you. One week is nothing. Nothing. You need months to change, sometimes years. Don't bullshit yourself. Great that you found TRP, I'm happy for you. But right now you know shit. Do you expect us to pat you on the shoulder and say, 'good job bro!'?
Focus on improving yourself and come back when you have something valuable to say.
KKP4 10y ago
For me personally, the post was very informative. I improved my life quite a lot in the past year (I posted a semi-FR a month or two ago) just by following TRP.
But when it comes to women I'm kinda in the same position as OP. Even though I had a 2 year relationship I still suck at approaching women and have practially zero game. It's nice to read some newbie field reports which actually contribute to the TRP newbie section and not just the experienced guy.
Great post OP. I'd like to read more of your stuff.

Fair enough, everybody can have an opinion. Though if he could wait at least a month, he could post something of bigger value.
junkie__jesus 10y ago
Smh for you getting downvoted, I remember when the top comments on posts like this were like yours, now we got a bunch of nice guys saying shit like "it has value to someone!" Please, that's like saying "everyone's butiful on the inside!1!!"
Whisper Vanguard 10y ago
It has value to a very specific someone.
Newcomers. If all the field reports we have are /u/humansockpuppet pulling a threesome with two bridesmaids after a wedding, then the new blood is going to tune out.
I place my official Vanguard stamp of approval on OP, not because he's beautiful on the inside (he's probably made of the same selfish goo as everyone else), but because he just gave an excellent illustration of how to get started.
RedBloodline 10y ago
Happy Cakeday,
At the end of the day a Field Report is just anecdotal experience. I would say that some do have general lessons from which anyone can learn, but anecdotal is still subjective. My post doesn't really include anything for you guys that have been doing this for months/years. If that is you well than you should've known not to waste your time on reading a post titled "MY FIRST WEEK". I posted this with only one selfish reason; I want to be able to look back at said event for future purpose. If somehow someone learns from this on top of that, or can relate / comment, that's a good thing.
Not by posts like this no, I would love to see your thoughts on when I do post something next time!
Snufek 10y ago
I always like to make my opinions controvesial, so I'm sure the point is delivered. Don't take it personally, but if everybody would post like this TRP would turn into shit real quick. Wish you the best and looking forward to your contribution in the future.
CuckedByTRUMP 10y ago
Nah you just look like an ass and try to backpedal then act like your intention is to be controversial. You're getting downvoted while the entire rest of the community besides one other asshole is saying good job or I wish I was that young. While you complain about content the other endorsed members are cheering him on like a young buck they wanna see do well. Your attitude is shit. It should be "We are all gonna make it man." but instead you are crying about not having perfect content. I bet you haven't even read the sidebar.
