Summary: I've had Moobs since puberty kicked me in the face at 14. I was worried that they would never go away but, the articles I read at the time assured me they would go away in a few years. Not so.
Body of text: I'm 22 now. As you can see from the pic, I would classify as "Skinny fat". I'm active, play sports, love to run but, the Moobs won't go away.
It's a REAL confidence killer. I can't take my skirt off at the beach/pool and it makes me self aware when I approach females.
How can I lose these things. Third not just fat. When I squeeze them, it feels like their respective is a solid lump in their that gives them shape.
I've heard cardio will help but, not lifting because, that will only help define them more.

That's gyno, only surgery will get rid of it. $3000-$4000 if you don't get put to sleep

There's gyno and there's fat.
You have a little of both. Your nipples are puffier, softer and larger than they should be, which is PROBABLY not going to revert not with fitness/diet, given that you've carried them well out of puberty.
There's also extra fat on your chest which WILL come off if you get down to 10-12% bodyfat.
First step is to control what you can control. Get leaner and remove estrogenic compounds in your diet / lifestyle. This will help you harden up and get less bloated, which will help even if you can't lose breast tissue right underneath the nipple.
You don't really know how much moob is GYNO versus how much is fat until you get leaner and see what's left.
For Gyno, you typically will need surgery, although it's possible certain products like estrogen-blockers and/or aromatase inhibitors (AIs) like letrizole will knock it out.
You want to start with the least extreme. Diet, exercise, avoiding soy, alcohol, grains. Get good sleep, eat saturated fats, protein, cruciferous vegetables. Basically, follow good practices to get yourself in a lean, anabolic state free of phyto-estrogens and stressors. Stress promotes cortisol release which increases estrogen. Extra bodyfat increases estrogen.
In short, let's first see if a complete lifestyle/fitness/diet overhaul can tweak your hormonal levels enough to correct the problem. Chances are it won't knock it out, but it will certainly help in that gyno looks less bad if you're lean and ripped.
If that does not help over 2-3 months, speak to your doc about treatment for gyno. Anastrozole, letrizole, etc do work in some cases. Some doctors will not really help at all, and this is where a RP comes into play. You need the finances to just go see doctors until you find one that will play ball. That is what my father had to do for TRT after an illness that really screwed him up - no one would prescribe him what he needed. You sometimes have to just doctor hop until you find one who's willing to help, you may have to go out of network.
Again, this may or may not fix it.
If it is still not solved, then you have to resort to the most extreme, but most successful measure. Gyno surgery requires research and multiple opinions, because it's costly, painful, and not foolproof. It's also not covered by most insurance. That being said, many patients are very happy with the results.
So go through the A -> B -> C. First see if you can knock it out with an diet & lifestyle changes. If you can bulk up and lean out to the point where it's not bugging you, then you can leave it at that. No need to progress further.
At the end of the day, girls don't really give a fuck IF you don't give a fuck. I've fucked girls as a musclechub, I've fucked girls as an inshape guy, I've fucked girls when I had teen moobs. It really, truly does not matter.
If you need this process for you though, then you're old enough to consider treatment or surgery. I 100% stress that you should try to optimize your health and fitness FIRST and see if you can chip away at it first.

Get off BpA and other endocrine disruptors. Anything from a can, anything from a rigid plastic container (plastic baggies are ok) is like getting a shot of estrogen. Get off that shit.
Do some yang tonics. Oh yeah, cash register receipt paper is also estrogenic. Don't touch it.

I agree with most of this, but he shouldn't even bother waiting the 2-3 months. He's already had it for 8 years and by those pics I can assure OP that his glandular tissue is not going away without surgery. He should be focusing on figuring out how to pay for it and choosing a surgeon ASAP.
Keep in mind it takes some time to heal after the surgery, you won't see the full results for at least a few months. There is no point in training hard in the hopes it will go away; it won't and you won't be able to lift for a while after the surgery anyway. That tissue needs to be surgically removed. My case was worse than OPs and the surgery is not painful, it is uncomfortable because you have to wear a compression dressing and it's itchy, but it's not that bad.
If it's lowering your self-confidence get the surgery done ASAP, it will feel like a huge load off your shoulders. The blow to your self-esteem will negatively affect all other areas of your life.

Thanks bud.
Definitely good info.

You're 22, so that gyno will not go away without surgery. You can get lucky only.if it's fresh (steroid users it's generally new).
If you feel a mass, surgery or bust... sucks but it's the truth.

When I saw this I was curious about the lifting aspect. Aside from losing some of the fat, does developing pectoral muscles tense it up enough that the "moob" is stretched out and not protruding as much?
sirmadam 10y ago
I had this on big sides. Doctor told me they would subside. One did one didn't. The leaner I get the more I know how much this shit might affect me. But really I'm not that bothered. It used to hurt but no longer, even had abreast cancer scare with it once.
[deleted] 10y ago
Thanks. Your comment is really inspiring.
I know what you mean.... I use to hunch but, I was like "fuck it"
I'll definitely apply this stuff!
The__Tren__Train 10y ago
Yeah that's gyno for sure. Will require surgery to remove.
Nodular breast tissue is a bitch. Good luck

From 2008-2010 I was fat as fuck. Well over 250+ at 5'11 and had some serious man boobs flapping around. Girls would tell me strait up, your tits are bigger than mine. After a year of intense cutting, I got down to 169 and man tits are gone. Cutting out xenoestrogens, as mentioned in other replies, can only help. Also look into supplementing with Calcium-D-Glucarate (CDG) and Diindolylmethane (DIM) they are both compounds found in green leafy plants like kale/broccoli. You can read more on the technical mechanisms, but they both help the body bind and remove "female" hormones.
Based on your photos, mine were much, much worse. I considered surgery or just cutting them off myself so many times- but those ripe ol milk jugs sorted themselves out.
[deleted] 10y ago
Okay. Thanks for the insight.

I have this on one side. It's gynochemastia. Lifting won't help. Diet won't help. Make it not noticeable with lifting and diet etc or bite the bullet and get surgery. Personally I'm leaving mine where it is, it doesn't make too much difference to me. I have a few months off to lift and get everything sorted, so depending on how that goes depends on if I decide to remove it or not. Also: consult a doctor. A username on Reddit is not a doctor.
prodigy2throw 10y ago
Man I get how that could be a confidence killer. The quick answer is surgery. The better answer is surgery after you get your chest as swole as possible to see if it's still even an issue for you.
The thing is, after you get surgery for that you may end up finding another minor flaw that you will obsess over.
Ultimately, keep lifting, see how the tits progress after six months or a year and if you feel like they gotta go then get the surgery.

Just wanted to chime in and say I have a similar problem - I have breast tissue that I believe I'll need surgery to remove. However I am still overweight but working on that, so eventually I'm sure weight loss will help; I've also been lifting for a few years and my chest has "stretched out" more, which has also helped to make them less noticable.
Personally I've learned to just not give a fuck what others think, while still trying to control what I personally can. Hopefully in a few years I'll have the opportunity for surgery.
favours_of_the_moon 10y ago
You need to get off BpA.
http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2016/04/13/bpa-canned-goods.aspx
Anything from a can, anything from a rigid plastic container, and also cash register receipt paper is estrogenic. So is sugar.
[deleted] 10y ago
I'll do more research on that.
Thanks.
Refigerator1043 10y ago
That's glandular tissue. You have gynecomastia, and you've had it for 8 years so it's not going to go away by itself. Nor will it through diet or exercise, not eating canned food, estrogen blockers, or whatever other bullshit. That stuff may be useful for avoiding gyno in the first place, but you already have it, that tissue isn't going away without being removed by a surgeon.
I tell you this as someone who went through it, had it from 13 to 28 years old. If I could change one thing in my life it would be having the surgery sooner. Let me know if you have any questions.
[deleted] 10y ago
If you had it then you probably understand how undesirable it is.
It must run in my family because, I have 3 other brothers and 2 of the 3 have it.
My older brother had it but, (like one of the poster mentioned) you WILL NOT notice because he's a military pilot and loves to work out/is a muscle head. His is actually not serious.
My youngest brother has it as bad as me and I'm worried for him. What if it doesn't go away like mine.
It really killed my confidence in high school and I just now got it back to a degree.
Yeah, I do have a few questions also.....
Refigerator1043 10y ago
Yeah, it sucks. If I was you I would do whatever it takes to get the surgery ASAP. I think this is one of the few things worth going into debt for.

Thanks guys.
I appreciate the feedback.
As for the "hamster" comment.... Not really. I simply subbbed a few of the heavy chest exercises for hard cardio. It's not like I'm sitting around going "woe is me".
I run 3 times a week, play soccer almost every afternoon, and do various exercises to compliment them. Although, I hear what you're saying and I'll take it into consideration.
RPSnuggles 10y ago
They will disappear when you eat whole foods and limit calories. No excuse not to lift iron. If money is your impediment then do the free no gear program from Gym Jones. You are hamstering your way to staying fat bysaying you might as well not even work out if they wont go away. BP af.
Maybe you have some sort of cyst or aliens gave you a boob job. In that case, go to the doctor.

Don't post pictures here! The SJW will find you and they will try and hurt you!
You didn't even strip the photos info from them! The X Gif data or whatever the fuck it's called.

Okay.....I understand what your saying.
But, anyone who knows me would recognize me anyway.
I have nothing to hide.
Entropy-7 10y ago
While I am no expert, I think lifting can help. Focus on incline bench or flys, or overhead press with the heaviest weights possible to pump out 3 sets of 6-8 reps three times a week to maximize hypertrophy. Building your upper pecs pulls your whole chest up; the fat will still be there but stretched over a larger area and get rid of "ski jump nipples".

Get surgery. Only really permanent solution.
Try this place
Oh, and after you heal--lift!

Damn..... It really comes down to that?
