Summary:

When I read comments here, I noticed that people overestimate the importance of self esteem and think that beside looks self esteem is the main difference between Chad and Brian O'Beta.

This is wrong. Chad gets nervous in certain situations, too. However, Chad never gets lived by his life, but is the always the captain of his life.

Chad is a human like everybody. He is worried. Sometimes scared. Gets nervous around hot girls. Says stupid things and regrets under the shower that he did not say something else in a certain situation. ...and still, Chad is extremely successful. And seems way more confident than others.

Why?

Because Chad sees himself as the ruler of his life.

Something wrong with your life? Fix it! Do something about it! You are too fat? Chad would diet. Not tomorrow, but right now. You are too weak? Chad would start to lift! He would close reddit right now, inform himself how to lift properly and would then work out for an hour. You have a hard exam next week? Chad would learn all night. You want to find a new plate? Chad would go out and talk to women.

Meanwhile, the average guy does not control his life. "Well, guess it will work out somehow, let's just see..." is a common attitude.

Many just see the self esteem of Chad and how savvy he talks with women and assume that this is the secret of his success. It is not. Self esteem is a result of success, not the reason. Chad is an ambitious human. But he is still a human. When Chad talks to a HB10, he is as nervous as the average guy talking to a HB5. Of course, if Brian O'Beta (who is a 4/10) sees Chad talking to a HB6 like he does not even care and the HB6 still goes home with Chad, Brian O'Beta is impressed by Chad's self esteem. But Brian O'Beta does not know that for Chad, this HB6 is like a HB2 for Brian.

Now of course the world is not fair. Chad may have a more masculine face and might be taller than Brian. The world is not fair. But still, while back in high school, Brian played video games or watched TV all day, Chad worked out, did a sport or learned an instrument. It is not all about Chad's self esteem. The key of Chad's success is certainly not self esteem, but hard work. And after Chad got some HB8s and HB9s and even occasionally a HB10, he does not have to fake that he does not care if a HB6 wants or does not want to be his plate tonight.

Lessons to be learned:

Take control over your life. Fix stuff you do not like. Self esteem will come as a result of your success.

Pretending to have self esteem to be more successful will only get you limited results.
