About one year ago Berlin-Friedrichshain/Kreuzberg's district council voted for a ban of ad-posters displaying "sexist, discriminating and misogynistic" contents.
Since it is not that easy to furtherly define correctly what this could involve, a comitee had to be founded. It consisted of 12 women (and one man) who belong to organizations like "Terre des femmes"(a German organization) and "Frieda".
So one year forward and they publish a huge paper, consisting of eight pages - all filled with words- which contain their "Ten commandments" about what identifies "sexist, discriminating and misogynistic advertising", which I am honoured to present excerpts from(unfortunatly I wasn't able to get ahold of the full paper, since it appears that they didn't publish it online up to now) to you:
-
[…] which communicates that women are indeed beautiful, but dumb, respectively not as strategic as heterosexual, healthy men.
-
[...] in which women are dressed sparely or very formfitting and portrayed smiling without a cause.
-
[...] in which the woman's position is below the man.
-
[...] which communicates certain role models. Applies to children as well, who are portrayed as stereotypical boys (colour blue, plays with technics) and girls (colour pink, plays with dolls).
-
[...] which communicates, that (age-related) skin change, overweight, body hair, etc. inevitably have to be changed to lead a happy life.
-
[...] which communicates that the decorative (sic!) woman is as purchasable as the product.
-
[...] which communicates that the portrayed woman is sexually aroused or is a object of lust for the masculine observer (i.e. ads for underwear, sports-, swimwear).
-
[…] for sex services. (Interestingly enough the council explicitly excempted this in their referendum one year ago. Prostitution is legal in Germany.)
-
[...] which portrays children, especially girls, in sexual poses and/or saucy clothes.
- [...] which communicates that the the use of verbal respectively physical violence especially against women is tolerable.
Translation and emphazisation by me.
Yes, they are serious, and yes this is most likely to pass, and yes that district is known for being the pinnacle of Germany's SJW retardation.
Oh. I nearly forgot about one minor fact: We are talking about the astonishing amount of four (yes 4) advertising surfaces, which belong to the district here. The district has got ~275k citizens and an estimated (by me) one thousand or more private advertising surfaces. So I guess this was a valid investion which's results speak for themselves.

If only Germany was relevant in any way, maybe we'd all care.

This is Berlin.
It's crazy up there.
My guess is that in Bavaria you wouldn't have this sort of thing.
Think about it... just about EVERYTHING Oktoberfest represents goes against what these people are doing.
This is a regional issue.

"The counterculture tradition especially of Kreuzberg led to a plurality of votes for the Green Party, which is unique among all Berlin boroughs. The local MP Hans-Christian Ströbele is the ONLY Green politician directly elected to the federal Bundestag."
A little like Madison, Wisconsin. (crazy liberals)

http://www.bz-berlin.de/berlin/friedrichshain-kreuzberg/erster-berliner-bezirk-zensiert-die-werbung Do you have better source? I don't get it. So the comitee issues a paper in which they made 8 rules and these get implemented at once? Are the ad-places owned by the city?
Edit: I found no errors in your translation and emphazisation. Nice Job and thanks.

Besides an article from another "Springer-Blatt" (Bild), I only found a semi-satirical piece at Spiegel Online.
Ten rules. And yes.
Yes. Four are owned by the district. That's what they are talking about.

What is #9 all about? I don't think I've ever seen an advertisement with a little girl wearing lingerie.

It's to get the rest of the rules past the politics.
To get the: "Oh won't anybody think about the children!" crowd to support you. And to name-call opponents as pedophiles. 8+9+10 is all about political posturing to get the rest of the shit past.
