Summary: Long post about Kobe and why you must be extreme in your methods. This post focuses on his training regiment post-injuries where he's basically using every second in his day to try to "beat" his expiring biological clock, for nothing other than pride.
"Decent" or "good" efforts are never going to set you apart. If you dream of making "moderately good" money or enjoying top 80%er success with women, then you don't need to bother with extreme, insane dedication. But if you want to do something extreme - like go from incel to fucking a few hot plates a month, from broke to making 300k a year, from obese to ripped, you need to be extreme. Maybe not Kobe extreme, but probably way more extreme than you think of as healthy or normal.
If you are allergic to longass posts or are going to argue about Kobe v whoever, don't bother reading beyond here.
Kobe has been my favorite athlete for over a decade because he epitomizes extreme dedication, hard work, an intellectual approach, and a willingness to sacrifice everything for what he perceives as his mission in life.
Kobe's work ethic has always been legendary. In high school, he was known for showing up for morning practice at 5:00 am and getting home past 8 or 9. Every trainer or physical therapist he works with basically gets burned out trying to keep up with him and his insane schedule. As a young superstar, he didn't lose his head - he was known for sticking to a clean diet, spending hours a day watching replays, and making his teammates be "guinea pigs" for him to practice hundreds of plays on after games and practices.
When he was accused of rape, a normal person would have crumbled on the pressure. It looked like a done deal; everyone thought he raped her, admit it, you thought he fucking raped her. He was losing deals and staring at the end, his court case looked unwinnable, and anyone with any sense would have thought he had reached the end of his road. I would be tearing my hair out, losing sleep, playing like shit, and losing my cool in front of reports and further vilifying myself.
But what did he do? He played better than ever. He played like this fucking life was on the line and kept up his insane schedule, because he know his life was on the line. Every time he played like he was fighting for his freedom on the court, because in a way, he was. If he had started fucking up on the field due to stress, he very well could have gone to jail because that's how powerful the court of public opinion can be. He never complained, never talked shit about her, never whined, he just played like a man with a gun to his head.
But that's not what caught my eye. Recently I've been reading about how Kobe approaches defeating "aging" and going out on a high level of play. This article talks about how Kobe is basically has no business still trying to play at an extremely high level, but he is so determined to do one more season at his high standard of play that he's set up his entire 18 hour day to "hacking" recovery, nutrition, therapy, and practice to stay in the game.
Aging is not something he can beat. He cannot, absolutely fucking 100% cannot, play anywhere near the God level he has been at before. He is going to fail in his endeavor, 100% guaranteed. But he's doing it anyway.
He's experimenting with everything instead of accepting biology. He's doing cryotherapy, 3-4 ice baths, acupuncture, seeing like 30 different specialists and experts, guzzling bone broth, eating crazy clean, and is basically always having his body kneaded, stretched, iced, loosened, or otherwise prepared in some anally ordered method. He could retire and fuck a new 10 everyday instead, while guzzling champagne in the VIP, but instead, he's potentially crippling himself to prove to himself that he's a champion.
He is seeing the end of the road. As his trainer Vitti puts it:
"Almost all NBA players are on some kind of workers' compensation later on in life," Vitti says. "Basically, they wear out the articulating cartilage in their knees. That's what we end up calling osteoarthritis. Almost all these guys, hip and knee issues, later on in life. He has some [cartilage] issues from playing. And that may come back and haunt him down the road."
He knows this last stab at glory may cost him years of healthy functioning. His mission is that important to him. The specialists and trainers cited in the article mention how a lot of what Kobe does is uncharted territory - no 37+ year old basketball player has shot for this high a level of function and performance after the injuries and strains that 20 years have put on him. No one really knows if his body will hold up. They just have faith, because he's Kobe, and if anyone can do it, it's the guy who has sacrificed everything since he was kid to be more than human.
What also got me was his commitment to understanding everything related to medical / physiology that's going on. He's known for essentially making anyone who works with him explain in great detail why they are doing what they are doing, why that approach works, and so on. Most players just want the solution and don't want to geek out over the details and learn unnecessary stuff.
"So he knows what iliotibial band syndrome is. He knows what the quadratus lumborum is. He knows what the erector spinae is. He'll come in and say, 'I need this released.' A lot of guys, they don't want to know all that ... but he wants to know. 'What are you doing? What is that?' He's always been that way. You've got to give him credit for that."
That to me is huge. If your approach to Red Pill is "I want to know what to do, tell me what I should do in this situation" you will not get far. If your approach is "I want to understand the issue deeply and thoroughly and understand why different approaches get different results, and learn WHY I should do what you're advising to do" you will be able to make much better decisions in real time when you're out there in reality.
He wants to be the best ever to walk on the court, and he has embodied the attitude of a extreme success - not a success, not a "great" success, but a disgustingly extreme success - for two decades.
Now, you can put in a little effort and get a decent body and a cute GF. You can put decent effort and get a good body and a decently active sex life and career. I do not judge you if that's your goals.
But if you truly want to be great, or go from completely trash SMV to reasonably high SMV, you are talking about an extreme transformation. Not as extreme as being one of the best NBA players, but extreme for your standards.
So if you're shooting for the fences, your behavior has to back that. If you want to fuck a lot of girls, hang out at the club every Thursday - Saturday. Approach every single hot girl you can in any given non-work situation. Constantly socialize with every single person you can to grind and build social experience. Move to a city with an abundance of hot girls and hookup culture. Get a bachelor pad near clubs. Find it in yourself to kill it in the gym, kill it at work, eat super clean, and constantly learn new attractive hobbies and skills. Optimize your micro-habits so you free up a minute here and there. Use transit times to work as a way to cram good audiobooks into your head. Get a chick magnet car, get a professional fashion & grooming & skincare consultation. Use high quality sunscreen & skincare products. Get tailored clothes and top end denim and high end shoes. Do everything that will potentially give you a 1% improvement here and there.
If you want fantastic results, you are FUCKING DELUDED if you think that will come from reading TRP and going on 2x a months with your friends. You are deluded if you think that will come from just social game or chatting up Sally using your newfound TRP knowledge.
Now, before you say "But thotwrecker life is about more than fucking thots!" understand I am using this as an example. My good friend is a chick who was the #3 BMW salesperson nationwide and she clears about 300-400k a year. She repeatedly refuses promotions because she makes so much fucking money slanging beamers - and SHE IS AN SHORT, UGLY, STOUT ASIAN WOMAN. She is just insanely dedicated and always studying and learning. She reads maybe 3-4 books a week on psychology, sales, cars, consumer behavior, trends, and studies up on basically every subject so she can quickly make connections with anyone about anything. She can build rapport with an autistic DnD nerd, she can build rapport with celebrities.
This goes for anything you want to be a LEGEND at, not only sex and SMV building. You have to do things that 99.9% of the human population will think you are completely crazy for doing, and you have to enjoy the opportunity to sacrifice your life for your mission.
If you are here wanting to be decent at game and at social situations and be "sorta alpha"... you might achieve that, and you might be satisfied with that. You might get it and then go back to being lazy because you think you have "made it".
But sexual strategy is not a game that rewards decency! It's not 60/40, it's not even 80/20. Go to any top club and see who smashes the hottest pussy, see what % of guys can effortless scoop chicks without paying much at all in time or money. What % of guys are dating or plating 9s and 10s, given that women like to hook UP, not DOWN.
20%ers and 10%ers do alright, and it's certainly a better place to be than firmly in the invisible zone. But they still aren't anywhere near the level of mastery that I want to be at. And this Christmas, if I can give you all one gift, it's to aspire to be at that level.
As a man, you should at least have 1 thing where you aspire to be more than good at. David Deida (Way of the Superior Man) calls this as "knowing and pursuing your mission as a man" and "living at your edge." Men are mission driven; we are here to do something, to be something. This mission must be an extreme mission in order for you to get extreme personal rewards and fulfillment and development from pursuing it.
Again, I'm not saying this has to be women or money. It can be and that's great, but it can also be being an extraordinary professor, a salesman, a CEO, a leader, a scientist, an athlete, or writer, and so on.
But if you don't have something you are extreme about - and you are not putting in extreme "what the fuck is wrong with that guy" levels of dedication, then you will not have the escape velocity you need to find deliverance from the "decent" zone.
TLDR: Be an extremist about whatever it is that's important to you. Challenge yourself to be the best of all time, put the work in that a "G.O.A.T." would put in, and if you fall short due to genetics or bad luck, you'll at least fall HIGH. Good is the enemy of great.
Make people sick and angry with how dedicated you are. Skip out on your family today/tomorrow to go workout. Sustain that dedication for years; the pursuit may change from women, to money, to career growth, to health, to family at different stages of your life, but whatever your mission is at the time, be fucking crazy about it.

Michael Jordan was the exact same way. I love that commercial where he's talking to young basketball players about how maybe he "destroyed the game", or maybe "you're just making excuses"

I like Kobe but man.... Is it hard watching him. It's like seeing a great artist completely disintegrate before your eyes.... It's awful. Lakers might win 11 maybe 12 games this season. Maybe.

"Make people sick and angry with how dedicated you are."
This is imo what keeps most of us from achieving greatness - we're afraid of social pressure and people's reactions
An_All-Beef_Engineer 9y ago
This is why posts like "5 things you MUST do to get HOT WOMEN" are inevitably shit.
Luce_Bree 9y ago
Fucking GREAT post.
May make a separate post on AskTRP about this, but was chatting with the GF last night about how I'm so critical of myself, how I put so much pressure on myself. She didn't understand, I think most women don't understand, what it means as a man to feel accomplished, to have a mission, and to excel at it.
Most people don't hold themselves to a high standard, to the point where people who DO are looked at as having something WRONG with them.
So glad I read this, especially at the dawn of a new year.

One of the best posts I've read here. Really inspirational to be honest. Your post could be summarized in this phrase: mediocre action breeds mediocre results, extraordinary action breeds extraordinary results.

You would not believe how many questions like this come into the IRC channel. "I don't want to mess up this one" and "What do I text back?" blah blah. We entertain it some but it teaches little about sexual strategy if we just hand out responses. We made a flowchart a few years back yet the tide is still strong.
Getting someone to delete their ex-girlfriend's contact info or even worse; next some new girl who is stringing them along is almost impossible. The thirst is immortal. How hard is it to go out and get new girls when one should be doing this anyway? These sacrifices put women into perspective and grant the man a realistic view of his options instead of him getting blinded by the artificial female SMV increases that women (and nature) specialize in.
Being vehemently dedicated to something today is framed as having a mental disorder. "Oh he is a health nut", "He is on some weird diet", "He is afraid of commitment" the list goes on. The reason that mediocrity gets such universal acceptance is because it is universally relatable, everyone understands the need to rest after a long day hardly anyone understands the need to lift 400lbs. At its core, its all a part of the main principle: "Selbst über alles" which we all have trouble with these days.
Great post OP.

What's extreme about your life?
Cookiest 9y ago
This is a great inspirational post for me.
If you want to live a comfortable life, simply trying gets you out of the desperation of BB.
If you want to be a top 20% man, having a generalized plan will get you there.
Namkcalb 9y ago
I needed that.
I was feeling pretty low this morning. I had a crappy Christmas dinner, I fapped for the first time in months, girl issues, I'm hung over.
Just before I read your post, my dick was out and I was about to fall even deeper into a bad cycle. I clicked onto reddit hoping for some replies or upvotes for pathetic validation, and found your post.
I've now reblocked porn and loaded an educational site.
Thank you.

When I was younger I used to have this preconception about the average person's wonderful life, two kids, a non-CC wife, a home, etc.
But as I grow older I realize how
a) Stupid and lazy the general population is
b) How much they'll abuse power if they get it
There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING that a man can do to separate himself from the chaff that is the general population other than improve his station through hard work. That means extra hours studying, working efficiently, lifting at the gym, practicing game, throwing away worthless friends and family, and becoming your own man.
Most of us have tons of tethers stopping us from aspiring to something more-- some of these come from yourself, while others are attached to you by friends and family, sometimes even without us knowing.
Women can cry, play victim, and use their beauty to manipulate themselves into a better station. As a man it's much more clear-cut; you push and push til your situation improves or you sink and become a fat/skinny beta orbiter working a tedious job, always hoping things will one day get better.
EdmondDaunts 9y ago
Yes you push, but for your own path. In my career I was involved in a project that literally made what we did the best in the whole world. It was that cutting edge. But as I was working for a company I was simply a cog in that machine.
No fat suitcase full of cash. A pat on the back and that's it. Next week it's back to why haven't you filled in your timesheet? I only learned later that you can't expect a company to pay you what you feel your worth. It's not a company's fault, just your own expectations.
You push on your own path. Otherwise no one will ever see your greatness. It'll be buried in the fog of bureaucracy.
billythebeta 9y ago
Good point and very true-- undervaluing your time is something that most people are guilty of, but given financial circumstances may be periodically necessary until you're ready to take more permanent actions to improve yourself.
antwonedw 9y ago
Preach.
That line of your quote is so powerful man. Had to quote and reply.
Thotwrecker 9y ago
Yeah, when I was young I thought having a stable job, a house, a car, etc meant that you were super happy and successful. Then I realized reaching that level isn't shit. You're slaving away to pay the bills, your job leaves you drained and tired mentally because it's not interesting to you, and you are slowly letting your body and ambition grind to a halt. You still do not have access to the top % of women, you still are not having the sex life you craved as a teenager, and you're just an average, "successful" beta male in a progressively more hostile environment. You have increasing insecurity as you age over healthcare costs, retirement, education for your children, your aging parents, etc.
Betas are trapped and powerless, stuck in a life that was supposed to be oh so grand, but in actuality is pretty empty. Every time they muster up the balls to try something new or get off their routine, they are restrained by the chains they've taken on. They can't do it because they have to provide the stable check for the single mom they took on board and proposed to. They can't divorce their cheating wife and go live a new life because they are afraid of hurting their kids. They turn down career opportunity to go abroad and make some good bank because it's too risky, and a huge part of their personality is how they are "responsible".
Everything they do is a "half-measure" to quote Breaking Bad. It's a half measure because they always have one foot in, one foot out. A part of them wants to change their life, another part asks "what about X and Y other people? What about what others would say? What about a compromise, a more moderate solution. What about something... less extreme."
And then like you said, they take that path and become a skinnyfat beta orbiter working a tedious job, and hoping things will get better.
savedarticles 9y ago
As I get older I realize why governments need to control the stupid masses with media and propaganda. The general population of people are so stupid that they are dangerous if left uncaged. That's why the elites build fucking castles and gated communities and stay away from them. They then control the masses via government proxies either by force or creating cultural norms that fit their desires.
I don't have much hope left for humanity. I don't think working your way out of it is the way to go either. Most people slaving away at some low/middle class job is not freedom. These people are sheep too. Sorry, we aren't all kobe which has had amazing genetics that set him on the alpha path when he was small. Then it's just refining it with a strong work ethic. I have guys at work that have just as good work ethics as some shitty middle manager. They are on 6am calls with india and stay very late. Noone is going to write books about them.
Thotwrecker 9y ago
Kobe genetics & talent + Kobe dedication / work ethic sustained for 2+ decades is what make him 1 out of a billion.
99.9% of people never have a remote chance of ever reaching that level in any pursuit.
Knowing this, you can either be fatalistic bitch, or you can work hard to maximize your potential any land as high as you can land.
A fat 40 year old who wants to lose weight and get shredded will never, ever rival a genetically gifted dude who's working out in his teens. But that fat 40 year old can still shred enough weight to look good for his age, improve his health, and look better than 95% of 40 year olds.
Should he bitch about his lost potential and inability to ever reach the .01%? Or should he do what he can?
If you read my post, it's about working smart, not just hard. I didn't say anything about slaving away at some low/middle class job. That is not working smart. That is not taking risks to grow, that is putting your head down and following a weak societal beta narrative (put in your 9-to-5 and trust you'll get the promotions). I am not saying to do that.
siriusisness 9y ago
so i guess we know this guys excuses now
dontputthebeerback 9y ago
Boohoo, poor little you didn't get any amazing genetics.
Did you read the post? The most amazing thing about Kobe and anyone else at the top of their field is their dedication, not their talent.
Great dedication beats great genetics any time, it's the combination of both that is unbeatable.
savedarticles 9y ago
Plenty of more dedicated men that never even get to the NBA. The most amazing thing about Kobe is both his genetics, his dedication and talent. His dedication is probably average in terms of high level athletes. I know amateur runners that have same if not more dedication to their sport.
ghostbrainalpha 9y ago
Great post. I think we should start calling "sort of alpha" something like "beta plus +".
It's such a common state and doesn't get talked about much.
Chinny4daWinny 9y ago
How can you find the passion to want to be great in what you do?
I want to be a doctor, but my work effort doesn't reflect that. I want to be diamond in league of legends and I'm doing everything humanly possible, watching my reply, keeping notebooks, word docs, excel spreadsheets, watching videos to improve.
Why can't I transition the same effort to studying to get into med school?
Thotwrecker 9y ago
Playing LoL gives you immediate enjoyment and fulfillment. It's fun and because it actually does resemble the skill curve and progressive challenge overload that useful, real-life skills present, it's very easy to pour a lot of time and passion into it. But LoL is a product that 100s of very passionate, driven individuals have collaborated to make as addictive, engaging, and exciting as possible. You THINK you are accruing these skills and taking this journey of self-improvement to diamond (and you are), but what's really happening is you are enjoying a product of SOMEONE ELSE'S passion and creativity. You are consuming the fruits of other people's labor, you are being entertained.
This means that it's very easy to be passionate about LoL, because others have basically sculpted LoL to be a perfect passion-generator. This has trained you to expect passion to come easily and quickly. In reality, passion comes after months or years of hard work and pursuit of excellence.
AKA you gotta bust your ass and have faith that the passion will come; do not wait for the passion in order to get your feet in gear. Once you have been optimizing your life about med school for a year, then you'll have passion (or you won't, but in that case taking school seriously and priming internships, rec letters, etc will help you with whatever you do find passion for).
In order to replace a neutral hobby or negative hobby with a positive "mission", you have to recognize what you get out of LoL and find a way to meet those same needs through your other pursuits.
For example, let's say you are very competitive and LoL nurtures and feeds you inner competitive drive. Being competitive is a great thing. Can you get competitive about med school? To get into a top 10 or even top 20 med school, you need INSANE academic, volunteering, internship, and extracurricular performance. It's not enough to get As and get a decent score on the MCAT. You have to outcome 90+% of students who are also very driven and very smart.
So get competitive. Decide to be diamond at MCATs, decide every class you take you will be the best student hands down, you will wow every single professor, you will FUCK UP all these grade-grubbing aspie kids who want your spot at UCSF.
Make a list of every masculine urge LoL gives you an "outlet" for. Maybe it's social, maybe it's competition, maybe it's challenge and growth, maybe it's intellectual stimulation, etc. Find a way to "plug" that masculine need with something relating to getting into a top med school.
Then burn the bridges. Uninstall that shit and get out of the ecosystem. Video games are going to always be defended by frothing at the mouth redditors who will tell you that they can be a part of a successful life. And they can. But not for you, not for us guys who are trying to use our very limited time to do something rare and meaningful.
Freiling 9y ago
I quit video games a few years ago (with some relapses in between, but about half a year clean again). This is a great post, and you should consider putting it on StopGaming. Could help a lot of people out there.
As a side note, they don't just design videos games to be "perfect passion machines." These people study addictive, destructive behaviors, and literally engineer games to be as addictive as possible.
Thotwrecker 9y ago
I agree about games, believe me, there's a reason reddit will fight to the death to defend gaming as a good young male hobby. I work at a company that focuses on the healthcare / interactive health applications of gamification / game design. That's a big part of why I believe the elements that make gaming so addictive can be used for driving good habits.
By understanding what addicts you to certain games, you can engineer constructive hobbies to be as addictive as possible. I would post about this on StopGaming, but they probably don't take too kindly to my post history.

Chinny4daWinny 9y ago
Thank you for explaining this to me. I understand what I need to do now.
I will push myself to diamond this upcoming week (at plat 1), but regardless if I get it or not, I will uninstall league and focus on more important aspects of my life.
Your last paragraph brought a tear into my eye. It's the same thing my parents have been telling me, but I've been constantly trying to deny. Trying to assure myself that a balance is he right way to go. There is only so many days we have on this earth. I need to not spend any more on gaming.
Thank you for taking your time to reply to my comment.

I didn't think he raped her. Why would he be that thirsty when drowning in it?
What makes more sense?
1) Tall, young, successful athlete rapes girl
2) Girl wants ruff sex, to later try to get a settlement out of him.
Pretty evident when she got paid suddenly the "cries" for justice stopped.
Thotwrecker 9y ago
I agree, but at the time most people were really not as cynical as we are not about rape. If a black famous dude was said to have raped someone - Tupac, Kobe, Mike Tyson, countless more - that was that, shut case, Johnson. Most people were pretty convinced he raped her.

Excellent post. As someone that doesn't care much for sports or Kobe I really enjoyed reading details about his commitment.
One thing I want to mention is that super specialized or successful people have major sacrifices in some field in their life which is seldom discussed.
My favorite analogy is the stove of life. There is a limited and fixed amount of gas in it, representing your time and efforts on this earth. There are four knobs, they are:
Health, both physical and mental.
Career, any money or professional endeavours.
Social, friends and extensive social life.
Family, wife and children husbandry.
Now because the gas amount and output is limited you can either turn all knobs to medium low, or turn a few to higher degree while compensating the others by turning them lower. You can also turn one all the way on, and excelling in that field by making deep and substantial reduction in all other knobs.
I very much think that this is true. Time is very limited. After sleeping, eating and shitting and commuting your actual hours of worth and productivity are sacred and scarce.
Think about it next time you see a highly successful finance person that is both overweight and with family life in shambles. Or the great father who spends hours with his family and friends each day but has a mediocre career.
I still think those sacrifices are worth it, but it's important to be realistic and to recognize that a you will never ever have it "all". If you want to be really great in something know that it comes with a price, sometimes grave.
GIGANTIC_NIGGER_DICK 9y ago
There are ways to reduce the unavoidable 3, eating sleeping shitting, thus adding you back more time in a day.
You can, for example, drink Soylent 2.0 (liquid food replacement that had a big kickstsrter campaign a few years back) instead of eating. I do that personally and finds it saves a ton of time. And if you only drink this stuff full time, instead of regular food, it cleans up your digestion a ton also. It makes the shit slip right out of your ass, its amazing.
Also I have heard of things like the Uberman sleep schedule, which from what I have read is said to only need 2-3 hours of sleep a day. It also was seemed like it was a mixed bag on effectiveness. And I don't know how heathy it was/wasn't. But I'm sure there are other hacks for sleeping.
[deleted] 9y ago
[deleted]
GIGANTIC_NIGGER_DICK 9y ago
It has helped me tremendously with my struggles with binge eating. I am already down 40 pounds since August. Also Soylent is just incredibly easy and convenient. I hate all the work involved with food preparation, so its perfect for me. I just reupped, and am now on the 72 bottle a month plan. I pay $174 per month for that. A little pricy at $2.42 per bottle, but I am willing to pay for the convenience.
sickofbeingaffraid 9y ago
No extreme is good. Dedication is, but once one of the key areas (health, wealth, love/social) of life has to suffer in a big way, I think it's time to bring back the equilibrium. I mean seriously, those dude would be happier if they had a better social & love life, even if that meant they would make 300k/year instead of 400k...

Definitely gotta agree. It's a tough trade off.
I know:
Doctor in city. Makes 400k-500k gross income. But has neglected family severely in order to do so. Coming up in his career, worked 60-80 hours a week. These days works 50-60. Minimal social life.
Salesperson in city. Makes 400k-500k gross income. No real hobbies outside of shopping, eating at restaurants, and watching TV. Works from home with minimal social life.
but then there's...

This needs more upvotes. Many of these guys have too much motivation surging through their body and not enough realism.

You can never reap more than what you sow. Your input determines your output. Every outstanding achievement is a result of extraordinary investment. You cannot wish great accomplishments, you can only work your way into it.
In any field of endeavour you find yourself, there is a place for you at the TOP, if you are interested. It involves finding out what it takes to get there and complying with the demands thereof. The top is not specially reserved for some people, but for anyone who is willing to pay the price required to get there.

thats excellent - im making that into a wallpaper
TheThingsIThink 9y ago
You reap more than you sow by being the owner and sharecropping out. It's how business and corporations make billions of others labor
sir_Preacher 9y ago
Being an owner involves taking the risk, investing more capital, paying several employees, providing their health insurance among other benefits, etc,
It is essentially sowing more to reap more.
TheThingsIThink 9y ago
If the risk pays out you reap 10 or 30 fold

"If you want fantastic results, you are FUCKING DELUDED if you think that will come from reading TRP and going on 2x a months with your friends. You are deluded if you think that will come from just social game or chatting up Sally using your newfound TRP knowledge"
This is what I needed to read today because that's what I've been doing lately and thinking it was enough.
Thanks for this post

i'm sure that main thing about "hacking your aging" is HGH :)
innibinni 9y ago
I went extreme in trying to gain weight. Messed up my liver. I'm on meds that didn't go well with the weight gain. In the summer I will for sure do it again, once off the meds. I was succesful though, gaining 6kgs (13lbs) in 6 weeks. Extreme is the only way to live. Great article btw, really keeps you on track being reminded on what the greats do.

Look into Sam-E take it with a B complex.

How did eating more mess up your liver?
innibinni 9y ago
Eating gainer was too much since Im on accutane and my liver couldn't process both.

You wanna BE the best goddamn hustler you can be?! Okay.
So, BE the best goddamn hustler you can be.
Nothing to it but to do it.

Really resonated with these words. Got me up and out for a 4 mile run this morning! On top of many other words of wisdom I've pulled from TRP, this post is now my laptop's desktop background. Many thanks for writing this up, Thotwrecker!

Incredible post, and incredibly motivating.
I've swallowed the pill fairly recently (~ 2 months ago) and one thing I see about myself is that I have so many ambitions. I want to be that ladies man with mad game, I want to be making mad money, plating mad bitches, pursuing sports and lifting like a mad man. But obviously there's only so many hours in a day, and with so many pursuits, it's kind of hard to know what to focus on. I'm a college student, so even though school is a top priority for me right now, it sucks having to dedicate soooo many hours into studies when half the time it doesn't even interest me. I constantly find myself wanting to go do social stuff, chat up some females, hit up them gym, go play some pick up ball, etc, but I know I have so much schoolwork to do that I can't pursue all those passions.
What do you think is a fair solution to this predicament? Getting this degree is a top priority, but should I sacrifice work in so many other areas of life?
Sophisticated_Sloth 9y ago
This is incredibly motivating. I really needed this. Thank you so much.

I'm with you. Stop isolating yourself for your daydreams when what you need is right in front of you.
Balance your life. You ain't Kobe.
throwawayyourliberty 9y ago
Why do you refer this sentence to yourself? You are not the center of the world, might be a surprise? Cognitive dissonance is the effect i am referring at. With "most of us" you only meant you. People here do not know shit, especially nothing about a balanced and driven lifestyle. Thus, do not generalize for the sake of defending your own ego. Happy holidays.

I love this line. Awesome, inspirational post man. We only get one life. Make the most of it.

Great post. All I would add is learn to enjoy the pursuit, the thrill of the hunt because success in of itself doesn't imply ultimate happiness or fulfillment.

Watched: Kobe Bryan Muze, last year. It's a great documentary and Kobe shares his perspective on hard work and his tenacity to become the best. Not the best of all time necessarily, but he became the best version of himself and that's all a man could do.

Thanks very much for this reminder. I need to remind me of this every fucking day when I wake up.
My goal is to be a CEO of a cool and successful corporation (something like 200+ employees would be insane). Other people have done it so why not me. My company is 5 people right now. I lost my drive somewhere along the way and need to get it BACK and grow the shit out of my company.
I'm 29 and I feel like the clock is ticking, I have to think BIG because there's not enough time in life to do things half assed (like I've been doing the past 2 years).
My weakness right now is internet browsing (reddit, 4chan, bits of informations there and there). It's frying my brain and distracts me from making big decisions. I'm good with avoiding addictions, but I didn't see this one coming. I need to gain my focus and drive back. I hope this won't leave me again. Anyways, thanks for your post, really appreciated it.

Try the Pomodoro Technique. See if that works for you. I used it at work and it has helped me stay off mindless bullshit. Google it

I've been trying to incorporate the HabitBull app into my life. It kind of helps. I have that same issue with distraction.
