Some internal data was leaked before bumble made the choice to allow men to pay to send the first contact. Woman were only sending messages to less than 2% of men on the app in a given area on average. After they opened it up to men making the first move woman started responding to 5% of messages and they considered this a huge win. You cant have an ice cream store and only sell ice cream to 2% of your customers and expect to survive.

Interesting stat about only 35% of users being female. Much of this 35% are a hard core of carousel riders, swiping left till its Chad's turn. Naturally men have adopted strategies to capture their attention by appearing high value. This has totally skewed the market. Unless you just want to rail a slut and can act high value, OLD is not likely to bring many good results.
I used dating apps to some success back in 2017 up until 2020, being on top of my game may have helped but i wasn't top 10% of men or anything, There was plenty of desirable women, hot and young, some milfs, and from all over the city.
I didn't use them until this year again, and the effect of the covid lockdowns must have been disastrous for the apps. They charge for everything, theres single moms galore ( yesterday i was chatting with a 21 year old single mom of 2,broke as fuck and her oldest is 5). A massive amount of very hot girls looking for sugar daddies, selling content, +45 yr old milfs who want a perfect 10 guy with all the benefits to settle down (at last). And the worse part is that there is a third of the people that used them a few years ago, all spread throughout the city.Just not enough people using them.
I've gotten a few numbers and interest has been low, hotness too. Bleak as fuck.
Nothing beats real life approaching and shaking a hand.
The dating apps have matured - they realise that they get the most out of 'engagement'. They simply want users to interact with each other.
The proliferation of bots and auto likes and swipes is not helping.
Prostitutes have realised that dating apps are a brilliant place to advertise. 'Willing to fly to meet a date' and age range from 18-99 are the tells.
They seem to have become (for the large part) a sort of clearing house for loser women that are looking for validation and simps that have no real interest in actual IRL interactions. We have several of these digital simps (males) on this platform. Fat and ugly women simply do not get any validation IRL, so they gravitate towards OLD, where they can catfish for attention.
there has a been a discernable shift in a sizeable segment of the female population, where they are not actually intersted in relationships at all. it used to be that women thought of dating as a necessary first step towards finding a relationship - it has become obvious to many of us that a lot of women are not acutally looking for a relationship - dating is what they are interested in. This is quite profound.... dating apps can provide dating. they are a way for women to get what they want, and what they want is dating (which is not the same as a partner). Dating is great for women, it means validation, free meals, being entertained. It means enjoying the 'boyfriend expereince' without actually having a boyfriend.
Not surprising...It takes men a bit to collectively catch on, but it's clear that "dating" apps are not a place to meet women worthy of commitment, so men started to default to only using them as a place to find sluts to fuck.
And with men collectively withdrawing any chance of commitment (translation: resources to siphon off of), the business model of those apps becomes unsustainable since women cannot and will not contribute enough themselves to make that model sustainable.
In the context of socioeconomics, female hypergamy is self defeating when too pervasively practiced/encouraged. Because any men not benefiting from it withdraw from the system and said system collapses. The top N% of men alone cannot sustain society, and neither can the top N% of men and top 80% of women.
This is why any society that wants to progress past and stay past mud huts makes sure to incentivize the continued participation of men who were not in the top N%.
The great leap forward for mankind was when they figured out how to create civilisations. The very first laws were all about how to divide the females so that there was more or less a female for every male.
the alternative to civilsation is how baboons live - there is an alpha male that fucks all the chicks. and the beta males fuck no chicks.
This is why men are generally keen on civilisation - but modern women want to return to pre-civilisation times - where they just fuck the alpha. women dont mind sharing the alpha. this is why men's jealousy is so different from female jealousy. mens feel jealousy on a primal, biological level. women dont.
