An op-ed in the FT by a conservative pundit summed up the situation in the US quite well.
"In some tellings, “grievance”- and “resentment”-filled Americans simply do not understand how good they have it. In others, they are too racist to care. Assessments by pundits and politicians alike embrace the assumption underlying modern economics that maximising consumption is the highest good. So long as globalisation and uncontrolled immigration lead to more stuff at lower prices, no one has rational grounds to object."

That's just it: the US tolerance for wave after wave of immigrant arrivals was always predicated on the 'social contract'.
The social contract was this: we will accept continued high immigration IF AND ONLY IF our quality of life is improving. If the immigrants come in and clean our toilets, do the nanny jobs, gardening, fix our cars and all that other $10 a hour stuff, then Americans can live better.
But that deal stopped working. For 30 years now, real wages are stagnant or declining. And the hoards of immigrants still come. Many Americans have come to realise that the hoards of immigrants are causing wage stagnation. Other have noticed that the immigrants have no interest in working - they can either live of crime or welfare or both.
What we see now in USA and EU + UK, is a battle not between left and right, but a battle between elitists and national populists. The left and right both want higher immigration, so that is why left vs right is an out of date puppet show. The real debate is between elites (pro immigration) and the national populists (anti immigration).

I'm just glad that in the USA immigration is almost exclusively poor Latinos and not waves of Jihadis and western culture-haters
I'm not glad about immigration at all but I'd rather be metaphorically pissed on than shat on if I'm forced to deal with one

Since the southern border was opened in early 2021, we have received somewhere around 10 million arrivals from about 180 countries.
It’s not a matter of whether there are sleeper cells… it’s a matter of how many, how large, how capable, and whose orders they take. Our enemies aren’t fools, and they sense weakness.
As far as the destabilization effects of millions of poor Latinos: I think it was Stalin who said, “Quantity has a quality all its own.”

It's a shit deal for the citizens dealing with the influx, all I'm saying is I'm glad it's almost all poor Latinos, being fully aware everything else slips through as well
Compare that to Europe that is having its culture rapidly decayed by mass amounts of people who will never assimilate even half way who believe with and sympathize with Jihadis and believe in cultural customs that are almost completely antithetical to the host countries
lurkerhasarisen 3mo ago
Indeed. Islam is incompatible with advanced civilization, and the EU can’t seem to get enough of it.

They're slurping up those migrants like they are the last drops of water in the Sahara

Maybe I'm not getting it, but what does politics have to do with TRP?
wswZtyqNGQ 3mo ago
Nothing. The fact that there's any upvotes for this shit means there's a hell of a lot of glowies hanging out here.

You could say its all connected. The libtard / feminist movement is connected to high immigration. Have you ever heard of a feminist that was not pro-immigration? There are all sorts of ways that they are connected.

Western countries have declining birth rates that present a demographic crisis. This is spurred on by the breakdown in gender relations and enforced monogamy - marriage rates decline every year and have been since the 1960s.
Some people are huffing copium and think that the powers that be will have to reverse ideological course and stop pitting men and women against each other via feminism. This is why I think OP's post is red pill relevant.
This post points out that no one is going to fix the ideological decay for you. They don't need you to have children when Jose already has enough, they can just use the third world as a blood bag to keep the country alive rather than stitch up the wound that causes the bleeding.
