One secret, that I'm sharing at my disadvantage, is that you're more likely to find wife material in small town girls.

I'll caveat this with the fact that there are no unicorns. BUT. There are women more likely to be molded into better wives as they lack the preconceptions of the average girl that grew up near a metropolitan area.

I say this because of all the women I've known, consistently it has been the girls from small towns that were the best wife material. They were all plates except for one which I made an LTR. After noticing enough of these girls had this common, I asked myself - why?

I think the reason for this is that growing up in a more localized group has several cultural distinctions from the average modern life:

1) Reputations matter more. Women from small town lived in an environment where their in-group was basically their only option and they had to conduct themselves in a way that minimized the possibility of social rejection. If you're rejected by most of your town then you are forced to move, which isn't really an option in adolescence.

2) Values are focused on social relationships. Small towns typically are less wealthy and individuals find their happiness in relationships more often than vanity. Women that grow up with these values, while still maintaining the innate instinct that searches for resource security, provide less weight to materialistic interests. Their happiness is more derived from family and friends because it plays a much larger role in their lives. Their lack of wealth forces them to find wealth through alternative means.

3) Relatively more flat social hierarchies. Small towns have less people and their hierarchies are more flat because of that. The value gained from social climbing is thus less. The learned behavior of branch swinging in areas with taller hierarchies is less relevant towards achieving their ends in life. Early on, the women learn branch swinging is not only quickly noticed, but they stand to gain much less from it.

For the reasons above, small towns breed a culture where one's reputation among their immediate social groups is prioritized and this creates a shared value system that necessitates qualities desirable for a woman that would be in charge of a family. Hence, small town girls make the best wife material.

Just my initial thoughts and curious if anyone else has insight.
