You try your best to fix yourself up as much as possible and you cut yourself some slack, you didn't choose to have a mental illness.
But definitely try to fix it, if that's at all possible.

You don't.
You don't.
You live the best life you can. You put the past behind you and try your best to be your best possible self. Don't blame your mental illness, take responsibility for yourself and your life.

One of the skills autistic people usually lack is "seeking help". Learn to seek help. Then go watch "Freddy got fingered" and see how Betsy embraced being fucked up.

Shes looks like shes having fun. Looks way more fun then bitching to some old dude who read a bunch of books.

Yeah, you kinda have to learn to laugh at yourself. The Thais taught me that. "Don't serious" they would always say.

Why do they "lack" it. Why cant they just learn to accept and love themselves for who they are. Seeking help is implying youre not good enough now.

Well, we are born in this world as helpless, blind, naked babies. My autistic son rarely cried but he didn't get his needs met because he lacked the ability to seek help. I taught him this skill and now he goes and seeks help when needed; be it from a teacher, parents, therapist, doctor, whomever. It's an automatic skill that neurotypicals have but many autists don't have so it has to be learned.
You're kinda learning to seek help by coming here and asking questions. The whole point of a therapist is to have a third party take a look at your life and see things you might be missing. Sometimes I'm so worked up over things and I tell my therapist all about it and the answer is so obvious to him like "talk to your Dr about this" and I'm like "oh Jesus., duh! He would know" and then my Dr diagnoses something and fixes it.
I'm pretty sure I've been saved from heart attacks, cancer, diabetes, and a number of ageing problems because I go seek help from my Dr. I've made very good choices that made my life better because I bounced them off a therapist and got feedback and took into consideration what they said. Seeking help has been the most useful skill I have learned in my life.

They only want your money and try to prescribe you meds. It's a business a scam business.
whytehorse2021 about a year ago
You're thinking of a psychiatrist and you don't go to them unless a doctor refers you. Therapists can't prescribe meds. They just talk to you. Use them as a practice person to learn social skills.
