my right shoulder is in pain, havent been to the doctor yet, lower back is damaged from too much/bad weight lifting.
thinking about pickung up bicycling again. any other ideas which sport i can participate in?

Definitely see a PT about your shoulder and back. Mine gave me some shoulder exercises which seem to be helping. I also found a DVD program called something like "Natural Sciatica Relief Program" by the Sciatica Institute which really helped that as well.

Cycling is good, cardio is king in relationship to over all health. Swimming might be another option but since you injured yourself once do to lack of proper form, it might be worth grabbing a coach.

I have a hosed shoulder. 1 year of physical therapy got me back into the gym and doing most things. Let the professionals advise you. They know way more than any of us and shoulder injuries take the longest to recover from. I thought a fractured knee was bad but holy fuck a shoulder injury is way worse.
