Hey guys, been a lurker for a few years.
Before any "don't shit where you eat comments," yes, this girl is a coworker, but also this is just a summer job between college semesters that I couldn't care less about. If I got fired rn I'd be cool. I'm young and still live at home.
Anyway, I've been regularly chatting up this girl from another department who caught my eye. She's shown me plenty of IOIs and we even have quite a few mutual friends. I decided to ask her to grab some ice cream and she goes "I'd love to, but just letting you know, I like girls." I said, hey, my bad no worries, and we've been texting back and forth a little bit since.
I'm definitely a noob and I feel like I just failed a massive shit test. How should I proceed? Did I completely fuck this up?

Shit test. I get it all the time. Escalate as normal, and if shes really les she wont let you kiss her, but if she isnt, congrats you passed the test, and now you have a fuckbuddy with possible 3wys in your future
Dont bring up the 3way idea until youve smashed at least 6 times, have fun homie

You didn't fuck anything up. There was no way for you to know that she isn't into men.
She obviously is happy to spend time with you as a friend, which is nice, and she just wanted to set up boundaries and make sure you knew she isn't interested in dating. If you like her as a friend, do that, and if you aren't interested, that's okay too.
