Intro
For Future readers this was a post made during COVID-19 but is applicable to any time of adversity
If you are in densely populated city people are dying all around you. Elderly, Obese, Young people with compromised systems. The news is only feeding you negative information. Infections Rising, Death Tolls rising, no sign of hope yet. You sit quarantined in your apartment as the COVID-19/Wuhan Virus closes in all around you. The neighbor next door is a healthcare worker who is being exposed everyday. The guy down the hall doesn't give a fuck and thinks he is invincible and puts everyone else at risk. The lady next door is coughing up a storm and has a fever. Its only a matter of time before you might get it. What are you going to do about it?
Emotional Control
We are living in a time of Chaos. People are scared. People are being emotional and losing sense of rational thinking. YOU The Red Pilled Man need to control your emotions and hold Frame above all else. People are looking for a Rock. A symbol of Strength. Someone to follow and listen to. You can be that person but you need to have control over your emotions. If you are freaking out like everyone else you are just as useless. You need to accept the fact that you will potentially catch this plague or have already had it and passed it. You need to accept the fact that you might die. The only way to get stronger when you are scared is to face your fears not withdraw from them.
"Death Smiles at all of us. All a man can do is smile back" - Marcus Aurelius
The only thing you can control is YOUR Actions
With all the external influences out there you need to come to the realization that you can only control your actions and what you do. Being scared of something you cant see will make you paralyzed with fear if you overthink it. Face it. The only thing you can do is protect your self with PPE gear and limit your exposure. That’s the only things YOU can control in this current situation. If you make a decision to get groceries and or help someone else get groceries enter that action with boldness. Accept that you are making a risky decision and do it or not do it. The choice is yours not someone else's.
Lead and Be Useful
TRP teaches you how to be a leader. Now's the time to put that to use. Be the rock that people can hold on to. Everyone is going to need groceries eventually. Be the guy who takes the lead and plans out how to do this for your family, friends, and or your community. Be strategic. Be bold. Tell people what to do. Learn as much about COVID-19 as you can to make better decisions. Analyze your environment. When are people most likely to go out? When are people less likely to be out? When are stores getting their delivery's? What's the potential of threats in your area? Can you defend against an attack?
A leader needs to think about a lot and needs to do his homework to make good and effective decisions. The more effective you can be the more power and a following you will accrue. People need someone to look up to right now. Help people in distress if you can. Don’t be the guy complaining about "I cant go to the gym bro" - Like WTF have you been training for and getting strong for all these years? To bitch about not going when you need to be strong? Your focuses and priorities should be else where. Warriors train for war but during war they fight. That was the point of the training.
Closing Thoughts
Your Frame and Emotional Control need to be airtight right now. Being calm, collected, and centered are paramount right now. The best of warriors did exactly this during times of adversity.
Its easy to lose sight of yourself being isolated for too long. If you are alone it maybe worse. Clear your thoughts as much as possible. Stay away from thinking too much in the past or in the future. If you cant find ways to be useful to your family, friends, and or community that are in distress then take this time to work on yourself. Read as many books as possible. Study things you did not have time for before. Pick up a hobby. Learn to code. Time is valuable and right now we have a shitload of it. Get comfortable being uncomfortable.
4/13/2020 3:04 PM: Just an observation from a guy living in NYC during COVID-19. For the most part from my POV NYC is eerily quiet. A city that is usually full of life and noise is somberly quiet. While most people are just sitting at home jerking off, healthcare workers are trying to ventilate tons of people in ICUs. Mass graves are being dug up. I can only imagine the chaos of being in a ICU right now. Essential workers get up every morning wondering if they should even do this shit job of delivering food or packages to ungrateful people. People are losing their small business's because they cant function or work. Some stupid bitch is trying to film her self getting fucked on OnlyFans(OnlySimps). Quite interesting when you juxtapose all those things.

Man, this is the best thing that I've read lately. Thanks.

hahahaha loved the last paragraph. Stay safe!
rMustang18 6y ago
The post is really good but I totally lost it at the last part.
Now being serious,as a member of the RP School it´s interesting to note that this kind of situation is an example of what we prepared ourselves to be.We need just keep our calm until the population becomes immune.
JzKy24 6y ago
I thought you were talking about Dwayne Johnson lmao
WangHotmanFire 6y ago
Let’s be honest here, the rock is staying home with his family. He’s probably watched frozen twice today. Go be the rock, it’s probably a lot of fun
glumbum2 6y ago
Every parent has a love hate relationship with that movie and specifically the rock's song haha.
SpaniardSteppenWolf 6y ago
I agree with you, but i'm being quite stoic about everything which is going on and all i'm getting back is passive-agressive reactions from friends and family for "not caring enough".
replepok 6y ago
If you are new to the redpill and want to have a good relationship with a "controling" type family you'll need more experience of holding frame and beta smokescreen. I know it sucks but if you are stuck with them for any reason then that's the way to go.
Ireallylovewatches 6y ago
They want you to panic too? Forget about them, stay in your frame. If you’re calm and relaxed in this situation then stay that way.
Dls95405 6y ago
Being stoic doesn't mean being an asshole. Leaders are stoic, but they act on the behalf of the community. You may not care about others at all, and confuse that with being stoic.
jacknifejones 6y ago
"If you need me, I will help in any way that I can, but I'm not going to just sit and talk about what they are saying on the news, sorry."
This is how I do stoic with the fam. It encompasses caring without giving up frame.
medicineandsports 6y ago
Y’all are being a little autistic with the frame thing.. If you cant be yourself around your family without worrying about maintaining frame then you’re doing it wrong
silverback-gorilla12 6y ago
People are doing push/pull with family members
PopePalpatineTheWise 6y ago
Being yourself === maintaining frame. If you're pretending to care about something you don't just to adapt to the people around you, then you are operating in their frame.
If you're being yourself despite being different, then you are maintaining your own frame.
rockyp32 6y ago
Frame is fucking stupid you can’t fake it man
NexusReflexX 6y ago
Being yourself and maintaining frame are one in the same
RPOpenUp 6y ago
This.. Appearantly when this happens even your own familly don't accept you the way you are..
jseh 6y ago
That says a lot about your family then.
weebmaster32 6y ago
I'm genuinely interested in learning more about this. Could you elaborate a bit?
checkmarks26 6y ago
If I understand correctly... you are unable to hold frame with your family if you truly lack the characteristics of the frame you are trying to maintain. Be yourself while not bending to others point of view, this is easy when you aren’t putting up a facade and truly act in a way that suits you. If your true frame isn’t what you want, change yourself.
weebmaster32 6y ago
Yeah, that makes sense. Thank you!
1uno124 6y ago
Just means you're doing it right
LilSick24 6y ago
It comes with the territory, keep calm and carry through. At least when it's over you can look at yourself with pride that you didn't lose your cool.
Facelotion 6y ago
You only get flak if you are close to the target right?

ta_red_light 6y ago
The only "rock" that I can be right now is the one for myself and my family honestly.
Maybe that's my boat, but this whole "the whole world counts on you now" speech is rubbing me the wrong way for some reason.
Just keep the regulations of your government, help out your family, help with what you can to other people IF your help is indeed needed but dont let it get to your head.
whataccent 6y ago
Being a rock is viable, but not all of us are meant to be Dwayne Johnson.
user12345678654 6y ago
Be the pebble. Surround yourself with the minerals of life that allow you to reach the rocky dream. Once you become a rock. Aim to be a boulder. Repeat.

His work ethic is still unmatched. One of the reasons he's able to appear in so many movies because he's so punctual which makes him extremely likable to the staff
weebmaster32 6y ago
Well, I'm a stoic nihilist so I'm already pretty unaffected by the fear inducing propaganda, but if you add in the confidence that I have in my physical health and the fact that I use masks and gloves when going out it makes me almost inmune to the irrational fear that they try to induce onto us.
Sadly, many of the people around me are freaking out about it, as if it was gonna end the world, and I've been called "insensitive", "crazy" or "sociopath" by some of them.

This shit isn’t good, but it’s not the end of the world.
You are in NY, so this is far different than me in a smaller city in the Midwest that has >100 cases, but regardless, this shit isn’t something to lose your mind about.
Just keep yourself focused on facts, evidence and people who are focused on cultivating strong mindsets during this shit and learn how to cultivate it within yourself.
Not even just focus on what to engage in, but also what not to engage in. Don’t binge drink, don’t smoke pot literally all day, don’t consume shit media, don’t listen to psychotic friends.
It’s normal to feel off right now and that’s just another signal to look deeper and see where that’s coming from.
Is that fear rational and grounded? Or was it planted there by someone?
Take this time to read, learn about your craft, game plan and study your business, work on your running and calisthenic work outs and this time next year, everything will be okay, just like it will be in-between this day and then.
Many blessings.

DirtJellyBeanz 6y ago
I caught COVID-19 on 4/4/2020.. It made me better not gonna lie.. being stuck in my room and bathroom for 9 days now teaches you a lot about yourself.
I’m an essential worker, I workout, and eat pretty well. For all those years I worked out so I can look better and attract women.. well I came to learn working out has actually been my defense for this virus. If you’re fat and unhealthy this virus will put you on your ass.
So if you survive this virus, and aren’t healthy.. get the fuck to the gym and work on yourself because next time you might become that “number” on NBC news
TurdFerguson812 6y ago
In that way, it’s kind of a throwback to an earlier time. In the distant past, being and looking fit meant you had a better chance of surviving, and protecting and providing for your family. Which fundamentally is why women are attracted to fit men.
lala_xyyz 6y ago
The funniest thing is, in three months since this virus has traveled the globe, just about anyobdy could have dropped significant amount of excessive fat, stopped smoking (you lung starts to recover even just a week after you quit smoking) and improve your immune system significantly with better nutrition and workout. It still wasn't late. And yet, I doubt less than 1% did. I pity old people but they are at the end of the life anyway so it's not a waste. For everyone else, there was literally no excuse, they killed themselves if they die from this virus.

lala_xyyz 6y ago
yeah, the moment someone "young" dies it's all over the media. and then you scratch the surface and you see that the young adult with "no underlying symptoms" was an obese fuck. death rates for those under the age of 50 across the entire population is 0.1%, and that is mostly sick people anyway that would've died from other pathogens or walking down the street. it's all lies to protect the sorry boomer asses
odaklanan_insan 6y ago
Imagine a man working hard only to raise his kids well and have a peaceful retirement with decent savings. Then he get's covid19 and doesn't get to live the only thing he worked for and deserved. Would't that be unfair af?
This could happen to you if you were an old man who lived right. I am a healthy man in his mid 20s btw.
lala_xyyz 6y ago
there is no "fairness" in death, ti happens and you could die from any cause. smoking kills an order of magnitude more people each year than this corona virus would if it infected the entire population this moment. your argument is dumb emotional appealing and what-if. personally, I don't give a shit what happens to the entire boomer generation, they can drop dead all and I wouldn't give two shits..
odaklanan_insan 6y ago
Yeah, I have a bad case of emotional dumbness. StiLL wEt mY bEd At niGhTs. Peace.

Its a lockdown not a quarantine. In a quarantine you sequester the sick, a lockdown you restrict movement of the healthy. However I agree, I see a lot of people panicking, mostly women and beta type looking men.
poopdeck 6y ago
Some of y’all haven’t experienced actual hardship and it shows. This is nothing. Downvote me all day bros do I even lift
1017throwaway269 6y ago
For real it's kinda sad. This has been such a miniscule thing for me that I wouldn't think about it all all if every thing wasn't closed down.
Yeah NY and LA are fucked. Because they're gonna run out of hospital beds. In my town, we have over 20times the hospital beds per capita of New York City, we were supposed to be at the peak of wave 1 last week and not even half the beds were in use.. yawn
This virus isn't going away tards, and if it does get vaccinated, that's likely a year+ down the line. You will get this, almost everyone you know will get this, it's when. You can live your life scared inside for a year or you can just return to normalcy at the cost of a lot of sick and old people that are nigh guarantee to get this virus eventually anyways. As long as money is changing hands, doorknobs in apartment building are getting touched, hospitals aren't being doused entirely by sanitizers all day, THIS VIRUS WILL EXIST, (aka forever)
It's insane to me that people think a 99.99% effective quarantine is going to eliminate a virus that spreads as easily as CoVID. This is simply slowing the spread, destroying our economy to save the lives of the old people who make the laws. And the funniest shit is, these dinosaurs convinced the healthy young work force to throw their lives away to spare the boomers, and these millennial retards gladly took the bait without thinking twice.
If you wanna live your life in paranoia,I honestly encourage it for my own benefit. But give it snither month, 2 months max, and people will be done with this shit regardless of the repercussions. It's only the fat incel gamer guys that will be pushing everybody to stay in at the cost of destroying our economy beyond repair because they can finally justify their disgusting lifestyle
lala_xyyz 6y ago
How boomers have managed the fuck the economy once more is nothing short of remarkable. I bet after that sick generation dies off in 20 years they'll be screwing over us from their graves (probably from the debt incurred, which younger generations will have to repay with interest).
SeasonedRP 2 6y ago
Nowhere in the U.S. will even come close to running out of hospital beds, including NY and LA. Divide the projections by around 10 for the actual number of hospitalizations.
lilitalia08x10 6y ago
I dont know man. my mom works at stony brook hospital on long island in NY. they were running very close. I dont know how theyre doing right now. i have to ask

stay home, offer your services online or start an online business. I have asthma and a brain injury. I will most likely die if I get this (thats what my doctor said, not literally, but it is what he meant). I have my personal training certificate and I am offering my services online with at-home workouts and facetime/zoom workouts. there is always a way to figure anything out. good luck and stay safe.
do what you have to, NOT what you want to. that is part of my take being red pill.
dareealmvp 6y ago
I think there has to be a balance between what you have to do and what you want to do. If your life is only filled with what you have to do, and with nothing that you want to do, what's the point of doing all that you have to do anyway? In fact, what's the point of living life at all?

Also, bro, I hope you stay safe. Make sure you take enough zinc everyday (15 mg to 40 mg) in picolinate or gluconate form. Or eat lots of oysters (preferably from pristine unpolluted waters) or whole wheat sourdough, milk and eggs. It's otherwise difficult to get naturally from the diet but zinc is one of the primary minerals to contribute heavily towards immunity. Also vitamin C (megadoses), selenium (just take one brazil nut a day), vitamin D3, K2 and retinol.
lala_xyyz 6y ago
shouldn't 10mg of zinc per day be enough? that's the dosage I'm taking
[deleted]
lilitalia08x10 6y ago
of course brother. im saying take care of what you have to first.
also, are you a doctor or dietitian or nutritionist?
dareealmvp 6y ago
I'm neither of those, but every single nutrient I've listed is essential to the body; you need them anyway, either from your diet or supplement, but it's difficult to get it from the former unless you're deliberate about it. I'm just someone that likes to obsessively research nutrients and how to have better health.
https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/jmv.25707
By the way, don't trust doctors, nutritionists or dietitian blindly. A lot (likely most) of them have secondary intents-such as getting more money and obeying Big Pharma/other big corporations. Do your own research on Google scholar and remember to take studies that are epidemiological in nature with a grain of salt-they're exceedingly weak and often come to erroneous conclusions (the whole myth of saturated fat/dietary cholesterol being bad for you was started from these kinds of studies).
lilitalia08x10 6y ago
you need to refrain from giving anyone nutrition and dietary advice. this is a serious subject and you dont know about any underlying illnesses or complications they nay have. what ur doing can result in a lawsuit. so please, mind your own business and tell everyone they should ask their doctors what should be done.

People don’t like to hear it but there’s literally nothing to do to actually stop this virus until a vaccine is made. Even then, I mean we have flu vaccines how fucking well do those work? We’re all going to catch it. Many will get sick and recover. People will die, mostly the very old and already sick. But tell people they have no control and they get upset at you, because it’s human nature to want to be able to control our lives. So they make retarded decisions that put a quarter of the workforce out of work, or on a micro level wear fucking gloves and a mask while driving to the supermarket. The most noxious part of actually being resigned to the suck is people get mad at you, like you’re being selfish because you are actually seeing reality and would like to get this shit over with fast, not watch everyone lose their fucking houses because daddy government says you can’t work or one in one thousand boomers are going to die.

lala_xyyz 6y ago
you can't limit it, the virus is too contagious. and even if you can, you can't save people because they can be reinfected even if they survive the first infection. and the 4% figure is way overblown, the reliable per 1M data that we have indicate fatality rates less than 1% in a typical Western population structure (old and sedentary people). which is in fact normal annual death rate. so we'll have in 1 year die from this virus people that would've been dead next year. it's no apocalypse
muricanwerewolf1 6y ago
You literally cannot control how many people get this disease, at best you can only slow down the spread. The act of slowing it down hurts people in other ways, as we’re seeing. The idea that it’s even possible to keep any significant percentage of the population with the measures in effect right now from getting the disease entirely is totally retarded, and I’m not sure where people are getting that idea. It’s just not going to happen, unless states take an unprecedented level of totalitarian control. I’m talking a literal “nobody leaves their home, food will be delivered by soldiers in chemical warfare suits” type response. And that’s not going to fucking happen. Absent a vaccine being made right now, there’s no magic bullet. There’s only suffering, and the choices made to limit the suffering in one way inevitably have negative consequences and create a different kind of suffering.
TL/DR: ultimately, everyone is exposed to the virus, whether now or later. Your total numbers will be roughly the same, minus he difference made by a healthcare system that is prepared for the number of patients it is going to get. COVID-19 is not going to go away unless you literally locked everybody in their houses totally unable to leave for a couple months.

Unfortunately, the CDC and the “authorities on the subject” have been proven to be both liars and (excuseably) just wrong. If you remember at the very start of this, the general consensus was this was zoonotic and not transmissible between humans. Then, according to dr. Fauci himself, it was nothing to be concerned with. The death and infection estimates have changed week to week. Most of this is totally understandable, they are grappling with an invisible enemy where they still really have no idea what they still don’t know. Actually expecting doctors to know exactly what they’re dealing with and what to do with a “novel” virus before years of man hours spent studying it is foolhardy, god knows there are plenty of doctors wrong about things they know quite well.
You can read about the Spanish flu, which is probably the best analogue to this in how virulent and easily spread it was. Thankfully, healthcare is much better now, the Spanish flu’s death rate has been theorized to be mostly because of secondary bacterial infections after the virus, though obviously the virus had to have been no joke to take someone down to that point. We have been lucky in that most other novel viruses we’ve seen in recent history have been far less transmissible than they have been deadly. During the Spanish flu the world didn’t have mass air travel and modern transit systems with which to spread the disease, and yet it circumnavigated the world quite easily. Countries and communities took much more drastic measures to try to stop transmission, with the results of these attempts being almost totally random, some of the more isolated and hardline “nobody in or out” communities got crushed, and some places that didn't try at all were spared.
It’s very funny to me that people trust the same fucking people who told us “masks don’t help” but then a few weeks later said “ok our healthcare workers have enough masks, we were lying before, they do actually help”. They are lying as much as they need to to keep some measure of control on the uncontrollable. Comically, if you actually read the CDC website on surgical masks they do fuck all for aerosolized, virus laden particles generated by sneezing, coughing or even a person who sprays it not says it. They’re for protection from large droplets, and I guess it keeps total mouth breathers from sticking their fingers in their mouths, but they’re not good for much else. Ultimately the authorities are trying to both make people understand how serious this is while giving people hope that they can control the outcome. I understand why they’re doing that, but they’re still full of shit.
TurdFerguson812 6y ago
He’s right. That’s the point of “flattening the curve”. You don’t appreciably change the total number of people who get it. You just space them out over a longer period of time so as to avoid overwhelming the healthcare system. And here’s another important point; the fatality rates that are being reported are way overstated. For example, in my area we have a 4% fatality rate, but we know that we are dramatically underreporting the number of cases (because many are asymptotic and/or resolve at home without medical intervention, because of limited testing, etc). I’ve heard speculation among public safety types that we may be underreporting the total number of cases by a factor of 5 or more. So that 4% fatality rate is really less than 1%. And something like 90% of fatalities happen in people with underlying conditions. So what’s the real fatality rate in otherwise healthy people? It’s probably a small fraction of 1%. So sure, quarantine the vulnerable populations and hope they don’t get it. But accept that many of us will probably be exposed at some point. And will, for the most part, be just fine.
[deleted] 6y ago

TurdFerguson812 6y ago
I’m not disagreeing with most of what you said here. Nor am I arguing that the social distancing and quarantines that we’ve done are wrong. I don’t feel oppressed, and even if I did that would be largely irrelevant. But there’s an economic aspect to continuing all of these measures indefinitely, and that needs to be considered. And the OP’s point that many (perhaps most) people will get this at some point is accurate. And I say all of that as a healthcare worker (EMT) who is more likely than many to be exposed.

Go to the store and get groceries.
What the fuck?
Vynxe-Vainglory 6y ago
Yeah, he’s being a bit dramatic here: Just like half the other people I see.
The thing he first says should negate this sort of shit:
People are always dying around you; there’s always horror and tragedy and impending doom.
Welcome to life: The only thing stopping you from being dead.
TurdFerguson812 6y ago
OP also said that going to get groceries is “making a risky decision”. While I agree with a lot of what he wrote, this part is an exaggeration, and including that statement is far from being stoic. Even without the pandemic, we all literally risk our lives every day, just by leaving the house. Just do it man.

as someone who’s in the field (low end of totem pole when it comes to nutrition but i still have an extensive education, both in and out of school), never give advise on what to eat and what not to eat unless you have insurance and a proper education. if the wrong info is given to the wrong person, you could end up with a lawsuit on your hands. however, you do realize you can overdose on many of those vitamins? and you do realize that doctors do care. being sponsored by a vitamin doesnt mean theyll blindly advise someone to take something when they shouldnt.
how old are you?
