Summary: The Blue Pill for me has always been very hard to define. I think many of us came to the red pill after our "dream girl" gave us some...relationship feedback.
The Blue Pill essentially teaches us that beta behaviors are the correct behaviors with women. While this is occasionally true, only doing beta behaviors will inevitably lead you back here.
Body: Unfortunately no one can be told what the matrix is, you have to see it for yourself... Defining "the matrix" is something I struggle with, even to this day. The simpliest way for me to think about it is the publically shared belief that "Beta's are attractive." After all, it's what you're supposed to do. Every article I read. Every female piece of advice I received. All of this is focused on ensuring that men know how to be good betas.
And women like betas. Like the attention. Like the stuff. Like the ego boost. It's validating. It "should" be how attraction works.
Unfortunately, as we've all learned, the world does not work this way.
I think the difficulty that many men have when swallowing the pill is the understanding that sometimes beta traits are helpful. But, if you were Papa Smurf like me, beta traits were the only ones I had at my disposal.
The idea of "punishing" bad behavior by withdrawing my time and attention, never even occured to me. Boundaries? The whole point is that we're building something together! I support her the same way that she supports me. The dream! Which ends up being just a dream all along.
Women can't even articulate this phenomenon. They can only feel in their body that something is not right. Even if they know that you've done nothing wrong.
In matrix world: Beta = good. Alpha = asshole. Since the world doesn't work like that, I think we can pick our own definitions of each.
Conclusion: In the matrix, beta game for me was the only game in town. The right way.
That's really what the blue pill asks of you. Only give carrots, don't give any sticks. Sticks are "bad." That doesn't work for horses, and it doesn't work for women. Only carrots will make her puke.

TheGweatandTewwible 6y ago
It depends on what you mean by 'the matrix'. To me the Red Pill goes way beyond just women. It's the raw, unfiltered truth of the world. It's HOW the world works behind the scenes rather than what we see at first glance or what we are told it is. It's the meta rules of the world, if you want it another way. Economics, human relationships, societies, all abide by this "law" no matter what.
So I don't think the Blue Pill necessarily means beta. It just means you want to see/idealize the world in a certain way that is not congruent to what the world actually is. It just so happens that in terms of relationships, beta behaviour is how everybody "wished" relationships would go. Love each other unconditionally no matter what without putting any work in.
replepok 6y ago
Saying it like this is kinda like a self-realization of how the world actually works. With more practice and frame of red pill behaviour you now you sometimes have to throw a beta smokescreen, which makes you realize so many things about you old behaviour and new realization about how the world really is.
The work you put in in a relationship should be on you and you only for better attractiveness, try to better her on you'll only find out that she wants to take everything from you.
TheGweatandTewwible 6y ago
Pretty much this. Every now and then you have to throw your girl a bone but I hardly consider that work. By putting work in I was referring to staying on your purpose, staying on top of your shit and just learning to be happy on your own (which in turn will make you attractive). So yes, I agree
ball__sac 6y ago
I wish people on this sub discussed more than just women and relationships, there's a lot more to life than sex ffs
BigTreats 6y ago
Second this, i see a lot of new guys only speaking about women and getting them, making them the focus point (as it should not be). It’s all about self development and seeing the world as it truly is; women are just bonuses, a part of the path.

Fair enough, but the funny part is I don't come to this sub for that anymore. I much more enjoy the self-improvement and financial threads.

Funny bit but what does that have to do with what I said?

Let the philosophy be just that, philosophy. Have you any lays? If you don't, think that provider provides. Be a good provider and play your cards as husbant material.

OP: I think it helps when you realise that Alpha is attractive, and beta is useful.
awakenedspirit1 6y ago
+1 I like that... Society promotes what is useful, especially in terms of behaviors
medicineandsports 6y ago
Alpha is also useful just less willing to give it all to a woman who doesn’t deserve it

For people in general. In the well deserve absence of god, most people can not anchor themselves in the absurd and find nihilism all encompassing. The only retreat is the secular religion of humanism, that hides the mind away from the grey nature of all things and give clean very defined black and white categorizations for everything.
As such, we give carrots only because we do onto others what we want to be done onto us. We believe that if we all do out very best and good, the world will magically be filled with good. And "the bad" is just things done by bad people.
However, I will defend humanism, and the blue pill in one sense. Having a cultural lock on the brain of men that find it easier to kill women than to walk the sometimes very thin line between chump and abuser - is socially preferable. Sure, these are insignificant % of the population, but when that population is a few billion, even 0.001% means millions.

Tell that to Cypher.

Well, he did want to go back in. Exredpill would be happy to have him.

Lateralanouncer 6y ago
I think our instincts around being beta is. Beta is alpha (for good girls). This is the natural order as if you Remove contraception from society. sex has the high cost of making babies that require provisions and resources.
NovicePilgrim 6y ago
"Beta is alpha (for good girls)"
Just lol.
Lateralanouncer 6y ago
Since you put it that way it sound funny as fuck. In many ways the terms beta an alpha don’t make sense. Beta being you provide and protect your woman and children. What I am saying is our instincts think this is alpha and at one point of time it likely was. Obviously woman are no longer ours.
Sensat1ons 6y ago
There is no such thing as a good girl
Lateralanouncer 6y ago
Post contraception and feminism yea good girls (non sluts) died out but they existed before.
Sensat1ons 6y ago
They never did lol all humans are severely unethical. We are all hypergamous regardless of gender. No matter whether it was 400 years ago or today both genders were obsessed with sex which is why it talks about adultery in the bible its been happening since the dawn of life
Lateralanouncer 6y ago
That’s a great point and thanks for your time.

I'd say blue pill is the info we get from our mothers, while red pill is the information that if our dad happens to have a lot of experience with women and actually takes action to teach us. I feel like a lot of dads don't give a shit and won't teach you shit about anything though unless you hound them.
The_Entertainer217 6y ago
I hate the term “Beta” in a wolf pack the beta is second in command and will sometimes take over if the alpha is injured, killed or becomes old. What people mean when they say beta would actually be the omega of a wolf pack.
awakenedspirit1 6y ago
How about "above" and "below". Are you acting like you work for her or she works for you?
Sumsar01 6y ago
Are you a wolf?

Women love betas Lust for alphas
Being beta is my usual go to strategy. Kind and sweet to all the women I don’t want.
replepok 6y ago
Yeah hold frame, always go for the most beautiful girl, etc...
If you fall back in your beta behaviour try re-reading sidebar material and try again.
It's pretty much the saddest game (talking about game here) but it's very rewarding.
I sometimes miss beta behaviour because it's foolish and I like a challenge, but it's all it takes to go back for a round with the 5 steps to acceptance of your faith here on earth.
Quo210 6y ago
I see the whoie beta as someone who is weaker and has to negotiate with kindness what he can't achieve with power, skill or intelligence. Alpha as the brute who can take what he wills by force.
Beta will be tolerated, but never loved.
Alpha will be worshipped, but also hated and others will look to destroy it.
There has to be a balance. "Think as you will, behave like others." is a good take here. Being an asshole everywhere may net good results sometimes, or most of the time even, but not all times.
I've also noticed that you can get away with sooooooo much shit only for having muscle. Being a big dude helps so much with the whole "not being nice"
awakenedspirit1 6y ago
+1 I'm pretty big now. Being nice is much better received as a big person.
tdfrantz 6y ago
We're all governed by the chemicals in our brains, whether we can explain why or not. Sometimes the reasons we do things are obvious, sometimes they're not. Our chemicals are not logical, and in an increasingly logical (supposedly) world, that divide between what makes sense and what is seems to be widening.
juiceboxguy85 6y ago
All you really have to do is watch a shit ton of nature shows. The female animals are all getting with the Alphas, although some occasionally get with a beta for one and done. But it’s the Alpha that has his pick and his genetics go on for generations. Humans aren’t all that different although we have social norms and law to restrain us.

I’m obviously not comparing humans to ants. Why are so many people on Reddit such fuckwads?
PinacoladaSauce 6y ago
Interesting post. I originally clicked because of the title. I’m a wildlife bio major so I look at life through the lense humans being animals and technically speaking, what we refer to as beta in this community is considered “omega” in the animal kingdom. Betas are the alphas right hand man so to speak, they’re the second to eat and they assume the alpha role if the current leader dies. Omegas are the bottom of the totem pole. They eat last and are designed for relieving tension in pack animals (they initiate play, they get “bullied” or dominated by betas and other animals when after the alpha shows a dominance display). i’m not trying to be an asshole the title of your post made me think of that. I use beta the way we mean it whenever I’m talking about TRP.
But the point about sometimes beta being the right way was interesting to me. 48 Laws of Power has a couple laws that more or less go along with this. It’s stuff like “never shine too bright,” “praise those above you until you surpass them” etc etc. Machiavelli says similar stuff in The Prince. Sun Tzu in Art of War too. It’s things like hide your intentions, don’t let your enemies know they’re your enemies. I know what you mean when you say this but it can definitely be interpreted the wrong way
b2daoni 6y ago
This. TRP has influenced my thinking concerning human interaction. I definitely look at human behavior and male/female dynamics in an animalistic sense now more than ever before.
PinacoladaSauce 6y ago
If your into this stuff I have to recommend reading up on Desmond Morris and Robert Sapolsky. Desmond Morris takes more of a psychological approach to “the human animal” and Sapolsky takes a more biological approach. Both have interesting stuff to say, although their works can be a bit dry if you aren’t into them
LSDparade 6y ago
It's part of the ego most people can't confront - we're just animals. Almost every blue-pill attacks the idea of Alpha-Beta in humans because they don't have the ability of being self aware and realising their own position in the hierarchy.
NovicePilgrim 6y ago
Precisely because they realize their position they reject the whole idea.
Thats why the Red Pill is a self fulfilling prophecy: If you have the guts to accept it, you most probably have the guts to prosper.
flyinghorse1 6y ago
I like this as i've always known there is more than the dichotomy of alpha/beta and most of us are somewhere in the middle
PinacoladaSauce 6y ago
I think TRP is about unlocking your inner alpha but unfortunately 80 percent of the people here don’t actually follow that path and just become assholes or give up instead. I mean whatever you gotta do to make yourself happy and put yourself first i’m all for it man but...
flyinghorse1 6y ago
I dont believe a beta can become an alpha - not a true alpha. They can only wisen up and minimize their beta traits and maximize any alpha traits.
Vicco_ 6y ago
I think we are all alphas at the beginning, it's social conditioning that's made people bp. Try thinking of how you behaved as a kid.
flyinghorse1 6y ago
I teach kids and I do believe that some people are natural followers and some also just go with the flow. Not all are good leaders or even free spirits
Vicco_ 5y ago
Hmm interesting observation. I still think we can factor other external influences in. For example, how they were raised and who they spent most of their time with. Every natural RP bloke I know come from conservative households that knew when to be strict. I think a main factor to rp is discipline.
PinacoladaSauce 6y ago
yeah i see what you mean. I think the human personality is very complex. None of us are perfect obviously and even the best of us will have slip ups (Elon Musk just got his girlfriend pregnant, Jeff Bezos is getting divorced, Jon Jones the mma fighter is fucking stupid always getting into dui and steroid trouble, the list is long and wide ranging). But i for sure agree that you can improve yourself to a very great extent
when_its_too_late 6y ago
I recently had a conversation with a friend who admitted that he was unable to give the stick to his girl. He could "put his foot down" and do what he wants, but she would always win the long drawn out fight. He was "committed" so no matter what she knew he wouldn't leave. That thought in the back of her mind gives her so much control it's absurd...that girl he dates...is my sister. And I warned him that she does this to anyone who commits. Even my parents. She runs circles around them, and still ends up being the victim, the innocent one.
A trained dog is a good dog.
hockeyaddict87 6y ago
Good post. Two and a half men I’d pretty educational because you see the benefits of TRP in Charlie’s life and the downfall of blue pill is Allen’s life.
Cvevea3 6y ago
Did you really just suggest watching two and half men? Jesus fucking christ
