Summary: I cannot stress enough the power of visualization. It can help you achieve both very specific things or the overall strategy.
Body: Here it is again—I cannot stress enough the power of visualization. Read the Charisma Myth and the Power of Now. Now I'll go on a little rant that will hopefully be informative. The vision I have for my life is so powerful and compelling that even when I’m tempted—those images are still there. When I’m really horny and accidentally think about porn videos I used to watch or high school babes I’d creepily look at pictures of. When I’m rationalizing my way out of a cold approach. That temptation to break frame, when I know I can ace it. These visualization techniques are a card up my sleeve that are so powerful in these moments, because they bring me back to the present where I belong when I’m not strategizing or campaigning. Olivia Fox Cabane explains this much more effecively than I ever could so read more about it there. These moments that I write about and that visualization can help with, aren’t just occurring at points of crisis—in fact they’re even more powerful when I am in the present moment and just reveling in the journey that my life has become. It’s a feeling of absolute bliss and power. A belief so strong that I’ve actually benevolently brainwashed myself into certainty that I am this person already. A Napoleon. in the making.
Now don’t get your wires crossed here because visualization is only powerful if, oh shit, you actually use it. I mean really use it as it supposed to be used (ie. in tandem with other skills). I forget the RedPill post or book I took this from [maybe someone recalls?], but it’s something along the lines of this:
Achievement is only possible with the confluence of vision, action, and discipline. You must have all three.
In this post I tried to give an idea of how visualization can work [not the how, that's why you read those books ]. The action and discipline bases are covered pretty thoroughly elsewhere, but if you forget why you showed up to the ball game in the first place, what the fuck? what are you even doing?
Conclusion: This is my first post, and one that was really meant for my journal. I've been a big reader since youth, and I’m pretty proud of the depth of knowledge, reading comprehension, and fluency which come with reading great non-fiction and the Classics. I don’t intend to pursue writing outside my log book, but I appreciate your thoughts just the same.

Props. This is how a young red piller is supposed to be. He has a journal and reads the great classics. Let me guess, you're also a Chateau Hartiste Reader? It's guys like this who we should put our advice and efforts into instead of the guys who dream read the sidebar then think they're qualified to act on or give advice.

I try to limit my redpill reading to make room for other valuable literature and tasks, unless I decide to do a specific refresher—which to be fair, happens decently often. So no, I'm not a huge blog guy unless it's a great article that's been vetted by a bunch of others.

What’s the difference between visualization and mental masturbation
redhawkes 2 7y ago
Taking action.
When you visualize, you act upon the scenario you have visualized.
Mental masturbation otoh, is just a dopamine spike that only lives in your head.

The visualization you're talking about is very easy to do and is usually from a third person perspective:
Daydreaming about being a rockstar or pro athlete, imagining unrealistic porno scenarios happening to you and your friend's sister... etc.

(I believe) OP is talking about a type of concentrated visualization, usually done from first person view, and focusing on the emotional response that the event will bring, as opposed to the plotline event itself.

It isn't easy to do, takes a lot of effort, and is a skill akin to meditation.
There's no dopamine rush because it takes a large amount of concentration and is more like creating a reality distortion field
It's not about the plot (as most masturbation day dreams are), its about the way you would feel once the desired outcome is achieved... It's hard to explain and I may not be doing it justice.
