For those who are thinking ;tldr, I would say:

1. Never, ever, post anything with a picture of yourself on TRP, especially your face, or anything identifying.

2. Use a pseudonym. The importance is in our ideas, not our identities. Our ideas are currently, not only unpopular, but also a political and economic threat to the status quo.

3. You can go further and try to use privacy measures, but I suspect many are honey-traps. Also, that might trick you into thinking you are actually protecting your privacy.

4. The Internet is not made to preserve privacy; it's a political surveillance device par excellence. The elites who control can see and parse everything worth parsing in real time, with sophisticated software that runs on compromised machines made by companies in bed with the government, both of which are under elite, oligarchic control. Bottom-line: if this little subreddit pisses off enough people at the elite level, they could doxx us all. However, I think the unspoken rule is they are ambivalent about everything except a direct threat to the socio-economic system that would cause them massive disruptions and loss of income. I think that they are more or less content with defaming our ideology, thereby insuring that it stays limited to the relative handful on here.

Also, I think this ideology has a limited appeal, because it requires people actually work their ass off to self-improve to attract better quality women. Most guys would rather just "be themselves" and settle, or fap in some way.

This is a lesson learned OP. I am sorry that you had to experience this after your contribution to TRP. The fires they stoked for your body will die out in due time.

We can unplug BP people, but one must be discerning and selective about to whom they talk. I have unplugged three BP men in the last 6 months. It takes time, patience, understanding, and subversion of their BP training over time. Some aren't worth saving, and boys like the one that came after you simply aren't. They should face consequences for their behavior, but there's nothing we can do about it. It is sad and despicable.

IP banning is useless, the reddit admins knows this and so should you. There are a thousand ways to circumvent an IP ban.

The only way to resolve problems like this is an “auto confirmation” system similar to the one in Wikipedia, in which an account from a specific IP has to pass a basic confirmation period to be able to post and comment. But this is very hard to code/setup with the system that Reddit has.

Ya know, I used to read about concern of doxxing here and yet never understood it until this post. I guess I've just been lucky and never had an online stalker psychopath try to ruin my life.

What is even more disturbing is this:

I contacted Reddit admin, showed them the links, and that he was circumventing bans by using alts. Their boilerplate response was... we've investigated and have taken action. Which means they suspended that particular alt. I inquired about IP banning twice, no response. The admins will not help you, nor do they care about doxxing.

There are developers on these forums who can build a system specifically to protect against doxxing. Surely there is a better way to handle user accounts which prevents this kind of thing?

How can we fix this? For one, having a completely separate account just for RP/BP discussion would be a good start. You should be able to anonymise on a message-by-message basis if you want. All these kinds of things would prevent this crap from happening.

I will likely start building something for TRP in the future (been in web dev for 8 years and been part of the community for about 3). But still trying to figure out what that kind of platform would look like technically, and how ownership would be distributed to protect the integrity of TRP.

We absolutely should be sceptical when considering outside parties (anyone but the mods), but the fact is we do NOT have control on Reddit and never will. We have resources to build a truly strong digital spearhead against this insanity around us, but it starts with building a superior platform. Forums.red sadly just didn't cut it. I hope they build a better platform, I hope they request more feedback and build off the post "Building Power: the brainstorm" and vastly improve trp.red.

If privacy is truly the concern, then first would be to host servers in Switzerland and communicate all traffic over VPNs in Switzerland or some other place with desirable privacy laws:"Switzerland is not under any obligation to enact laws from any politico-economic union such as the EU." There is a reason it is always suggested as a great place for VPNs (virtual private networks).

The other aspect is we also have to eat. But instead of investing in a core platform, we buy whatever the community sells back to us, read their blogs, subscribe to their newsletters, buy their ebooks. Madness. We need to wake the fuck up and recognise the problem because this post proves this shit is not just confined to the internet.

Surely the mods can setup a fund so we can donate money (bitcoin if necessary) to have them build a better platform? Can't they setup some opensource/closedsource repository which will allow the developers here to contribute as much as their time permits?

I consider anything that event remotely touches TRP as potentially toxic for life and reputation, and post from a throwaway. I suggest everyone does the same, unless you are prepared to fully embrace TRP lifestyle, and become a pubic person. And that applies not just to Reddit.

My Facebook is locked down to a point where only my profile picture shows, so people can find me, if they know my name and face. There is zero reason to publish anything else to the whole world. There is a feature somewhere in your Security settings in Facebook, that allows you to retroactively set permissions for all wall stuff. You can use it to hide your post history. Then set default post permissions to friends only.

That being said, at least now you have experienced that your friends and social circle will stick with you even against smear campaign. Definitely not worth the doxxing experience, but at least something positive to take away from all this.

Tip for the folks who read this and want to take basic precautions:

Always use image scrubbers prior to upload on the Internet. Most photos carry way too much meta data that doesn’t need to be there

If you don’t care about upvotes or having all your posts under one account on reddit- on the mobile version and the online version too- there is an instant anonymous account button. Just use that to upload as most of you aren’t endorsed contributors or anything.(for them it’s slightly different because they are known figures with lengthy archives on their profiles)

ALWAYS keep a distinct email and password for any controversial digital opinion on any site (Twitter, Reddit, etc) that is not tied or linked to your regular life in any way whatsoever. NEVER sync your contacts- that’s just asking to get doxxed directly to the people who matter to you once they have your email/account.

Password managers will probably help and premiums on most companies are like $2.50-$3/month. Essential purchase for the 21st century IMO.

If you can: use a VPN/Tor(Tor is free, VPN is affordable) to upload. So your location data gets pinged everywhere else and it’s harder to pin down who exactly is sending this from where.

This all probably reads like overkill to 99% of you but as an ethical hacker in training - I see first hand how easy most people make it to crack into all of their information by connecting one thing into everything else- or rather in this case, even ONE link to your real life is all they need to get you.
