For anyone who cannot find time for gym or can't afford it there is an at home workout playlist in youtube from Anabolic aliens. They are effective. I have tried them. They have workouts for each body group. But i would personally recommend to go for only biceps, triceps, abs, forearm, legs and calf if you are a beginner.
For Biceps For triceps For chest Upper abs Middle abs Lower abs Leg Calf Forearms
Start with 1 set [The whole 5 min workout= 1 set] After 2 weeks, you can go for 2 sets.
Recommended routine:
Sunday/Wednesday- Biceps, Upper abs, Legs Monday/Thrusday- Chest, middle abs, forearms Tuesday/Friday- Triceps, lower abs, calf Saturay= Rest day
The time for total workout is about 30 minutes[If you do 1 set each] so don't give your lazy ass excuses.

Literally nobody cannot afford it. If you're low on money check out Fit4Less. They're all over Canada and must be in the US as well. Its $10 per month CAD, probably less in Ameribucks. You won't have a pool, showers or other luxuries but you'll have the basics. Gym memberships used to be at least $50 a month anywhere until Fit4less came along and offered $10-$20 per month. Since then all the other major gyms have offered incredibly reduced membership rates compared to what they charged previously.
washington_breadstix 6y ago
Affording it is one thing, but "not having time for it" is a shitty excuse.
SirAttackHelicopter 6y ago
There is no such thing as not having time to do something. It is a copout excuse for not wanting to do something. It is simply a matter of priorities. Girls see you giving yourself low priority, therefore they will give you low priority. 10 minutes a day is all it takes three times a week at home.

For those who cannot afford it: youtube - Calisthenicsmovement, fitness faq
If you're high school or college and don't have much time, get a job doing manual labor if you want to kill two birds with one stone. Minimal exercise on top of this leads to great results. Source: personal experience.

I remember when I didn't have the time to make the gym 3 to 4 days a week. So what I did was basically took the one punch man workout and did it at home, plus added in a chin up bar.
Ta11no 6y ago
Great post man, I would also recommend the prisoner workout
priestfrommiddleeast 6y ago
What I do is 100 push ups, 100 jack-knives, 100 squats, 100 tricep dips, and 20 pull ups, every single day the moment I wake up.
Really kick starts your day!

Always looking for some new at home workouts thanks for the post!
Sasuke_F_Uchiha 6y ago
Was looking for something just like this. Thanks bro. Much appreciated.
ytfromsnwcrsh 6y ago
I travel a lot and somethimes stay at cheap places with no gym or a crappy gym. What I do is mimic the moves in front of the mirror, with no weiths, but increase the number of reps. If I do shoulders with 16kg, 3x8reps, I do 4x15 reps with no weigths, just the movement. Its not the same, of course, but it works and you get to learn a lot about your body, paying attention to the correct movement, can improve your gym performance later.

No time or no money for gym? Bitch please, do burpees beside your bed until you puke. Sure you're not going to look big and swole, but you'll still be fit, confident, mentally strong, and with low body fat.
tempjewman 6y ago
If you can't afford a gym membership, fix your fucking finances. A gym membership ain't expensive. The value gained from regularly hitting the gym is greater than anything else your disposable income can provide.
SergiuIlescu 6y ago
Sounds to me like utter bullshit, if you don't have money for a gym why you simply don't go for a calisthenics route? All you would need would be a pull up bar either in your home or your house and your body nothing else.
[deleted] 6y ago
You can give it a try, bro. Just trying to help.
SergiuIlescu 6y ago
I already did try that and a shit-load of freaky things before going into the calisthenics route, believe me that shit with towels will not give you nearly the results calisthenics give. Eventually if you can progress to weigthed calisthenics and have a body like this youngster here:

Been using the home gym for the past couple of months. Thanks for this.
anonswede 6y ago
If you can't afford the gym or have the time to go, get yourself a kettlebell or two and a door-mounted pull-up bar. You can get a lot done with those and bodyweight exercises.
escapewithniko 6y ago
There are enough quitters who are selling on Craigslist; I recommend purchasing equipment there.
pullupsNpushups 6y ago
I completely agree with the pullup bar. It's helped me get even more ripped than what I was at from doing purely push-ups, aside from whatever manual labor I might've done from time to time. Now I've got an above-average foundation to work upon when I do weights at school.
BusterVadge 6y ago
That's exactly what I did before I got a gym membership. 15 pound and 45 pound kettlebells, door mounted pull up bar and a copy of "you are your own gym" book of bodyweight training.
DevsAdv99 6y ago
Cannot recommend that book enough. Does not replace barbell but supplements it well.
ImmaBeAMod 6y ago
The top Amazon review makes a pretty strong case for getting "Body Weight Strength Training" and "Your Body is Your Gym" instead. Any thoughts?
DevsAdv99 6y ago
That book looks really good as well. With YBiYG you're buying the author and his experience training Special Forces.
poopsicle88 6y ago
You might not be benching 350 but I guarantee if you do the master chief elite program or whatever it's called and can do sets of fucking handstand push-ups unassisted you will have the physique of a Greek god
jonivaio 6y ago
Same here. "Completed" the book in one year prior to joining a proper gym for the first time. Was able to do one arm pushups and pistol squats, and it became boring after that. I craved some real barbell squats and deadlifts.
GarbgeDay 6y ago
great post, thank you. i will try this out.

whuttupfoo 6y ago
I did calisthenics a while back and the one thing that want getting worked out was the forearms. Seems like that last video you linked is the answer.

If you cannot afford to go to the gym you have bigger problems. I'm basically jobless right now and I can still afford the 10 dollars a week at my shitty gym.
VipKyle 6y ago
This is helpful for me as i work in the oilfield and often only have access to shitty hotel gyms or nothing. Legs, back and shoulders are tacken care of by my job though :)
StuttBuffer 6y ago
I went about 4 years just running and working out on playground equipment. I didn't get big, but I was noticeably ripped. I gave that up to do fitness classes though. Getting to socialize with people plus having a trainer to keep me honest is worth the money. If the money ever ran out, you're gonna see me back on the monkey bars in the dead of winter again, no doubt.
basebool 6y ago
Theres literally 0 excuses this day and age not to get physical workout. Don't give a shit if you don't like or have time for the gym, it's not for everyone. But exercising by any means should be a top priority for people. I guarentee 30 minutes out of someones day will not kill even the busiest of people.
modaman25 6y ago
"I don't have time for lifting!" Isn't an excuse EVER, Your health should always take priority and will have an effect on every other area of your life for obvious reasons. Obama lifted during his presidency https://imgur.com/a/JQqUB despite the office of US president holding the title of one of the most intense positions mentally and physically in the world. Trump likely does too (No pics confirming it yet though). If the president has time to lift, you have time to lift. If not? make time.
Edit: For everyone wishing to turn this into a political debate just because I used Obama and Trump as an example, remember that Alpha apes do not behave with the political complexities that the betas do, and rather behave for themselves (and in turn get the female apes). Divisiveness is a tool used commonly by those in power (Nat Alphas + Dark Triads at your local bar, all the way up to politics at scale) to produce subservience and docility amongst the betas.
Dead__Hand 6y ago
K - maybe you're right, and I welcome an honest critique here, but I am temporarily one of those guys who says he is too busy to lift.
Here's my sitch - have at it.
I am en route to becoming a corporate lawyer at a top tier law firm. To become a lawyer in my country, you must complete several steps: finish law school, pass the BAR exams, and complete a ten month apprenticeship.
At a big corporate firm, apprenticeships are very intense - particularly for those who are gunning to get hired by the firm afterwards. I worked over a 100 hours this past week, and that's not abnormal. I am at exactly the firm I want to work at, looking at huge financial upsides in the near ish future. But I am competing against other equally talented, intelligent, and hard-working apprentices. Hence, I'm not leaving anything on the table.
Truthfully, I struggle to get laundry done sometimes, and I'm happy if I just get my sleep.
Now, not only am I busy as fuck, but I am under a lot of stress - and it doesn't go away. And when I lift - even on a beginner's program - the stress that it puts on my central nervous system amps me up even more, so that I don't sleep well (or sometimes at all).
So, what I've started doing is just deadlifting twice a week, 2 sets of 6-8, and then a couple of sets of bodyweight squats. That's all. I've tried going over, and it just takes it out of me. I also go for walks and occasionally do stairs or the eliptical, but I know that doesn't count as lifting, obviously.
My apprenticeship is over in about 8 months, after that I have several months off, and then my hours will be relatively human (compared to what they are now). After that, I intend to hire a personal trainer.
So - am I just making excuses? Honestly I'm just trying to get through this gauntlet and move the fuck on with my life.

"Trump likely does too (No pics confirming it yet though)."
You know damn well Trump is a fat slob who's allergic to exercise. Don't give him a dick flute solo just because clowns here act like he's the greatest president to have ever lived.
Wilreadit 6y ago
The very fact that you had to add an edit to your well versed post speaks volumes about the utter idiots populating this sub and American society in general. The rule these motherfuckers go by is: politicize everything, racialize everything. Don't try to understand what is being conveyed, instead try to project your own mental ramblings into the speaker's words. Fucking pathetic.
Obama and Trump and even crooked Hillary and Lyin' Ted are nothing compared to the fools. So God bless Obama and Trump and Hilly and Teddy but fuck you motherfycking simple minded fools.
nazis_are_socialists 6y ago

Regs2 6y ago
I don't have time for exercise is just an excuse, and a bad one. Anyone who says that should be honest and say "my health is a low priority", or "looking fit isn't important", or "I don't mind if people think I'm lazy".

modaman25 6y ago
This rampant political divisiveness is something so inherently beta that it deserves its own post, especially considering using the office of the presidency as an example of a difficult job has triggered 8 people so far into ranting about their bullshit political views.
WoahScienceCool 6y ago
No, its always fucking Leftists who feel the need to bring up their bullshit politics into unrelated topics. For decades now, people on the Right have let them rant and rave like lunatics whenever they felt like it without a peep, especially during the Bush years, and in turn it gave us 8 years of Obama and almost another 4 of Hillary. People are finally calling them out on their bullshit and thats overall a good thing.

It's true that willpower gets used up, but if you make exercise into a regular habit then it no longer requires much willpower to do. Anything that becomes habitual eventually comes naturally to you and you actually use up willpower to not perform your usual habit, whatever that habit may be.
In my own life, I start to feel emotionally stressed out if it's my workout day and I haven't been to the gym yet, because it's just that thing I have to do, not a decision to make.
MKSsystem 6y ago

I want to workout without excuses but I have a lumbar herniated disc still recovering. Has anybody got any advice for lifting without compressing the spine?
-HeartOfDark- 6y ago
No shoulders or back?
Why not just a typical bro-split of Chest/Tri's, Back/Bi's, Shoulders/Legs?
[deleted] 6y ago
You can add shoulers or backs after some time. This routine is for those who quit preety fast(like me) so they get used to it
-HeartOfDark- 6y ago
I mean, if you only have 15-30 minutes a day to lift then I highly doubt you would even stick with this program. You can find time, it's just a matter of if you want to.
ThickDickWarrior89 6y ago
Really? Forearms as a focal point?
[deleted] 6y ago
Big forearms look good to me.
[deleted] 6y ago
They are identified as having the most visual sexual appeal to women after clavicles.
madmike11 6y ago
False. It is Glutes, Neck and Shoulder width in that order
Wilreadit 6y ago
That is what guys think it is. Ask a girl yo know what a girl thinks. Thick forearms are usually result of exposure to high testosterone in intra uterine life.

I have a big ass from competitive sports/military. It looks fucking stupid in suits and and most pant models, but I swear in swimming trunks or just undies, women fucking get crazy for it.

If you can't afford to go to the gym, now would be a good time to whore yourself out for money. Fat bitches need love too.
heymikeyp 6y ago
You do realize OP that you listed none of the muscle groups that actually contribute to a beastly upper body right? Shoulders, especially rear/lateral deltoids along with every muscle in the back will contribute much more to having a defined upper body than chest and arms.
Also there is no such thing as upper and lower abs. The abdominals contract as a whole. You can emphasize, such as obliques, but not much other than that. Most body weight ab workouts are complete shit. Ab rollouts, hanging knee /raises, cable work, will contribute well beyond shit like crunch/situp variations.
I cant see how someone wouldn't have time for the gym, or even of they can't afford one. Most gyms are 10-30$ a month which is money easily saved by not eating at a restaurant a single time.
Home workouts can be very effective, but at some point progressive overload is gonna be difficult. A pull up bar, ab wheel, and resistance bands are essential.
Anyone serious about building their bodies really needs to hit the gym unless they invest seriously in their own equipment. Back is the most eye candied body part on a guy for the opposite sex by the way. It will also contribute most to building the upper body.
Fucking work every muscle in the body, not just parts you think the opposite sex likes more. That's retarded. If you don't like physical exercise, and are only doing it to look good, you wont make it far.

how far can you get by doing this? I saw it before and did it for a month, now i bought a barbell and a bench and started SL5x5. I cant decide whats more effective tbh, but I felt mentally better after the bodyweight workout.
LordThunderbolt 6y ago
You felt better doing calisthenics because you were pumping a lot of blood into your muscles. Strength training is low reps is neuromuscular.
UrsusG 6y ago
Until you can afford the gym.
(which was the point of OP's post and my reply).
[deleted]
[deleted] 6y ago
You will not get far at all strength wise, but you can build up a lot of endurance. Honestly I would never pick bodyweight over going to the gym and pushing heavy weights. You wanna be able to throw a girl around? Go throw some fucking metal around.
[deleted] 6y ago
[deleted]
[deleted] 6y ago
No, it isn't. There's nothing "insane" about it at all.
Calisthenics is to body building as paleo diets are to eating. You're coming at it with an inherent disadvantage no matter how you wanna spin it.
Only bodyweight exercise you'll ever see bodybuilders do, which will apply to 90% of people here who are just trying to look good naked, are pullups.
Had a good chuckle at this, okay bud you go ahead and see how far pushups get your benchpress.
What a load of shit lol, stop spreading stupidity. Calisthenics are fine if you feel like you absolutely cannot go to a gym, otherwise you're just hurting yourself pointlessly.
redpiles 6y ago
is a body recomp possible only with calisthenics + proper diet?
[deleted] 6y ago
I mean recomping is when you replace fat mass with lean/muscle mass, so it depends on how fat you are. I can tell you that you'll hit a very hard limit with calisthenics. If you want any size beyond "lean" then calisthenics aren't what you want to do.
