Amused Mastery is the end goal of Red Pill. However, the term begs a question: Amused Mastery of what, exactly? Women? The weight room? Social skills?
Enhancing one’s ability in any of these areas is a good use of time, but doing so doesn’t lead to the type of transcendence the term “Amused Mastery” seems to imply. There are plenty of sauve social operators who are secretly miserable (see: Hollywood). The overcompensating muscle head is a stock character at this point, and we all know a Chad who works at the local Papa John’s.
Indeed, Amused Mastery exists on a higher plane than any one “tool” or skillset. The word ‘amused’ implies distance – an ability to chuckle at those poor souls who haven’t figured out the big picture yet, all the while remaining untouched by their shit slinging and self-destruction. Though, we again face the question: figure what out? What is this cryptic “big picture?”
As you’ve probably guessed, the big picture is life itself. Amused mastery is achieved when life is seen for what it is: a game to be played. I’ll let early Red Pill philosopher Tupac Shakur take it from here:
What is the game is the question? The game is overcoming the trials and tribulations of life. The game is the system that governs every living thing on earth. Game is having all it takes to beat the system. Game is being able to “speak” and “live” what’s in your hearts. Game is real and it’s the true path to obey these rules given. Those who master the rules, master the game. He will have the best of this world and here after.
Note that Tupac often plays a couple seconds of laughing or giggling to demonstrate amused mastery before launching into some of the hardest tracks in Hip Hop history. His game was very deep. Any ways, the most common error men make is simply not realizing the “game” exists in the first place! The vast majority of men (i.e. betas) never awaken to this most rudimentary fact of existence. In a very real sense, they are “sheep.”
The beta is blinded by his insistence on “equality” and relativism. He tells himself that staying in every night and playing video games is just as good a lifestyle as someone who is actively working to improve himself and garnering lots of attention from the ladies. To the beta, there’s no “better” or “worse,” it’s all about taking the path of least resistance and settling for what’s immediately available. Many college betas aren’t even fully aware there are groups of Chads running Game, monopolizing hot women, rigging the Housing lottery (happened every year at my school), and networking with other Chads to secure the best jobs. The beta refuses to make value judgments about things being higher or lower, since doing so would involve admitting that he is currently losing the Game. The Beta must not admit to this dirty little secret and therefore adopts a religious reverence for the ideal of “equality.” That’s fine. To people in the Game, it’s actually preferable for a majority to take this stance since it means there are fewer Players to compete against.
There are groups of people who are “into” whatever pleasure you can imagine – power, sex, money, social status etc. – and who know how to go about getting these things, since they are often taught the best strategies from a young age. Wealthy people, for instance, usually take on the mentality of an owner early on in life and align all their decisions – from who they hang out with to what they study in school – in order to maximize their odds of accumulating money. There is very much a “game” to money making. If you obviously violate the rules of the game, you will be weeded out and receive far fewer opportunities to make big bucks, even if you feel you’re just as capable as the douchey guy who just landed a 6-figure job right out of college.
Every “source of pleasure” works like this. You can learn how to run Game with women, or how to raise your social status, or how to come up on Wall Street. Study the guys who are successful, identify common patterns, and continually test out your theories in the real world for immediate feedback. The rules will begin to reveal themselves. Since some behaviors always work and some never work (for instance, being Alpha is always attractive to a majority of women), you will start to gain confidence because you now have objective knowledge. Life is so much easier when you actually know the damn rules. Then things stop being confusing, and you can just have fun.
There’s just one problem, though. The Game I’ve thus far described is very dark. Now, we at the Red Pill are fans of Machiavelli and Nietzsche. We get that embracing power and rising above the life of a sheep is certainly not “bad” in the traditional sense. It’s strong, life-affirming, and at the end of the day is rewarded in society. But what happens when you actually get tired of making money and effortlessly running Game? That thought may not cross the majority of men’s minds, but for people deep in the Game it’s a legitimate concern. What happens when all the world’s pleasure still isn't fulfilling? Remember the Bond flick The World is Not Enough?
At this point you start to move onto “Wisdom” and actually remove yourself from the Game. The Alpha/Master, you see, is still not free. He still relies on external gratification to get his kicks in life, and must expend great effort to maintain his status. There is no Alpha without the Beta and vice versa – they are locked into one interconnected system. Wisdom (i.e. Amused Mastery) is the ability to see the whole game, including the drawbacks of being an Alpha. This is the True Frame and actually reveals a very messed up reality. It is not particularly inspiring to look out at the world and see a weak and sickly beta-slave class governed by dark psychopath leaders, but that’s unfortunately what we’re dealing with.
True Frame brings Freedom. Now, you’re Free, so you can still dabble in parts of the game you enjoy. Sure, start a small business in an industry you’re passionate about, or bang the MILF down the street. As long as it’s inspired and doesn’t jeopardize your Freedom, then anything is in play. However, you will never again fall for the dependency the Game enforces on less enlightened Players. To reach this level is to live with amused mastery. At last, life is fun again. You burn with purpose and drive, and set many goals to strive towards. But, you also know that no matter what happens, nothing can really block your shine. You’ve already won the Game, and are assured to have the best of this life and the one to come.
Good luck.

That's a good theoretical framework on what amused mastery is - but here's a guide on how to actually implement and hold an amused mastery frame.
https://therationalmale.com/2012/09/14/amused-mastery/
A simpler way to put it is that amused mastery is frame that you set wherein you've 'heard it all before'. I tend to rely on this in response to a shit test in an almost 'agree and amplify frame'. As a parent you whimsically and playfully entertain ideas and things your children say that actually make no real sense in an almost condescending way. Use this in dealing with women - you aren't dealing with an equal, you're dealing with a child.
Read the sidebar, specifically 'Shit Tests 101' for anyone who hasn't already.

Today, I just used amused mastery on a man. This man and I were walking into a store with him ahead of me. You have to go through 2 doors to get inside. There are products on display between the two doors. By his body language, for a second, I thought he was going to hold the first door open for me, but instead he lets himself in first and puts just a tiny bit of effort into keeping it open for me. From first door to second door, I look at some of the products on display and in my peripheral vision, I'm wondering why he's taking a bit of time getting through the second door. When his body gets just past the door jam of the second door, he turns around and condescendingly says, "your welcome". As I walk through the second door, I look at him with a frown like he's talking some foreign language I can't understand, and in that split second, I'm thinking, he wants a thank you before I've even entered the second door? Fuck this guy! Now I can say thank you like this guy wants, but he's already disrespected me with his condescending tone and for doing a shitty job holding doors open. If the shoes were reversed, I wouldn't expect a thank you. Or I could confront this guy. The thing is, my time and energy are far too valuable to expend on either option. So...I just walked on like he didn't exist, like he was nothing more that a fly that buzzed past me. I didn't walk briskly by as if I was trying to avoid a confrontation. I walked by casually like I was amused by this situation and half-heartedly wondering if this loser will demand a response. I didn't see him again.

Really showed him, good job! The story will live on through generations to come. Pfff such petty crap

It's definitely petty. Those with critical reading skills should see that it was meant to bolster Mr_Privacy's point about amused mastery.

Amused Mastery Master Class: Every "Sean Connery as James Bond" film, particularly the earlier ones.

If one is short on time, I highly recommend the first two scenes after the opening montage of "Goldeneye."
Brosnan's game is ironclad.

Excellent post, but I'd like to add one thing:
I think some men fear amused mastery. It's kind of like beating a video game. Once you beat the video game, your next thought is "what next?" Well, in life, there is no "next" once you achieve this amused mastery. We're hard wired to stay in competition, and actively improve upon ourselves. Once you reach this mastery, I feel like life becomes boring, just like how the video game becomes boring after you beat it.
hiaf 8y ago
It's a sad reality but it takes a lot to get there. At the epitome of man he gives back to those who gave him.
Somewhat how like when you are older and make good money you can treat your parents to nice things like vacations.
TheRedStoic 8y ago
Heh. I disagree.
I study whatever I want, there are always new goalposts to reach, and you set up your own measurements for progression, with healthy stress, self imposed stress. The kind of stress you have when you're an excellent pianist and there aren't many left to compare yourself with. You don't quit, you simply build your own new measurement stick, much more rewarding studying at your own pace through a lens of enjoyment and poise rather than external pressures.
The fear of the end goal is a misplaced fear. The end goal is the marker of freedom to build your own real goals afterwards. Most people will never get to this point.
Sundered_Star 8y ago
Well said, mastery is climbing a mountain that has no peak. You can always find something to improve and when you focus on one area another may be neglected. It is a never ending climb.
hunteeer 8y ago
I still disbelieve in competition being hard wired. Competition is the misguided thrive to improve. If you are blind and selfish, this ends in competition. You get better, nobody else and when you die, your accomplishments die with you. Improvement shouldn't only be your selfish objective, but an objective towards your surroundings, social circle, society as is. But this'll never happen as long as corrupt institutions like governments and an exploitable economic system exist.
Dis_mah_mobile_one 8y ago
Competition doesn't have to be all vs all. Creating an "in group" that you dearly, deeply support as opposed to a (much) larger "out group" that you compete against is literally what Men do. We usually call the in group a tribe but the nomenclature doesn't matter all that much.

Beta actually refuse to accept the red pill because this information is damaging his world view and his position. If you accept that some guys have all the best girls it means that you won't find your Cinderella and he is believing in Cinderella. So the fantazy in his head is destroying the facts.
They hate so-called 'douches' and continue to believe their own wisdom although the factual and statistical view is against their whole picture.
Basically beta acts like a sect follower

This is definitely a good start as to the theory behind amused mastery, and how to go about developing it, however it misses the core dynamic at play that drives amused mastery.
Experience.
Experience is the key component to developing the tool. This is where the beginner red piller with his "I don't give a fuck" attitude falls short, and typically where all of the top rated field reports shine through. It's considered one of the end goal tools because it is essentially knowing exactly what to do in a certain situation because you have experienced that situation (or a similar one), many times.
Most often, it occurs to the beginner when they realize on the spot they are being shit tested. I remember the first time after taking the pill that I realized in the present moment I was being shit tested. I gave her a smirk, a kind of shit eating grin that I knew what she was doing, and proceeded to destroy the test.
This experience naturally evolves into dominance, the dominance stems directly from knowing. Dominance naturally is the masculine trait every man should possess to some degree, and keeps the masculine/feminine dynamic alive.

Thought
Speech
How this is used:
Blue Pill Beta male is represented by the number "5".
Ego driven, nihilistic Machiavellians are represented by the number "6".
So we get:
555 - Blue Pill androgynous (equality) thought, speech, action.
666 - Red Pill Machiavellian thought, speech, action.
Why did I make bold the word action?
Because if any part of thought, speech, or action fails then you drop down to the lowest level.
The guy thinking he has Amused Mastery but cannot act in ways that demonstrate his knowledge will end up being equal to the lowest level of 555.
Mark Passio did a good youtube about this but I've forgotten which one.
If ACTION is missing you revert to the beta.
Approach those women... don't let inaction drop you to the lower levels.
Now once you've gotten so that you have no appraoch anxiety left and really no longer give a damn then you can back off on this training, but until the action muscle is made strong you are just imagining action.
Action is the most seductive thing to leave out. (inaction is laziness, passivity, pacification, Homer Simpson)
Many New Age philosophies fail because they lack the action component.

The post is targeted to those who don't want to lose (being beta) and cannot be part of the winning team.
Hence, a proxy to asceticism is their best course of action.
In common words they think: "I'm so cool I don't even have to play the game. Poor those slaves who depend on playing or don't even know there's a game."
But everybody is cool from their own point of view.

Great post. My only contribution: amused mastery raises the question. Begs the question means something completely different.

Well written post, but a lot of talk without a lot of substance imho.
RedCML 8y ago
Thanks for the post!
It's important to know that when we aren't in tune with this reality, when we are just coasting along and not actively playing the game, the game is still being played around us.
As a passive pawn, we might make some progress or lose some ground, but it's just random noise. Playing the game with intention is how we work toward success.
Don't let other people's actions and your reactivity move your pawn for you in the game of life.

This post is certainly for guys like me. I am at the point where I see the slaves and masters clearly. I am not really in either group(mentally anyway).
Last few years, I finally see that the slaves deserve their masters and vice versa. Still don't want to be either one though...
