Amused Mastery is the end goal of Red Pill. However, the term begs a question: Amused Mastery of what, exactly? Women? The weight room? Social skills?

Enhancing one’s ability in any of these areas is a good use of time, but doing so doesn’t lead to the type of transcendence the term “Amused Mastery” seems to imply. There are plenty of sauve social operators who are secretly miserable (see: Hollywood). The overcompensating muscle head is a stock character at this point, and we all know a Chad who works at the local Papa John’s.

Indeed, Amused Mastery exists on a higher plane than any one “tool” or skillset. The word ‘amused’ implies distance – an ability to chuckle at those poor souls who haven’t figured out the big picture yet, all the while remaining untouched by their shit slinging and self-destruction. Though, we again face the question: figure what out? What is this cryptic “big picture?”

As you’ve probably guessed, the big picture is life itself. Amused mastery is achieved when life is seen for what it is: a game to be played. I’ll let early Red Pill philosopher Tupac Shakur take it from here:

What is the game is the question? The game is overcoming the trials and tribulations of life. The game is the system that governs every living thing on earth. Game is having all it takes to beat the system. Game is being able to “speak” and “live” what’s in your hearts. Game is real and it’s the true path to obey these rules given. Those who master the rules, master the game. He will have the best of this world and here after.

Note that Tupac often plays a couple seconds of laughing or giggling to demonstrate amused mastery before launching into some of the hardest tracks in Hip Hop history. His game was very deep. Any ways, the most common error men make is simply not realizing the “game” exists in the first place! The vast majority of men (i.e. betas) never awaken to this most rudimentary fact of existence. In a very real sense, they are “sheep.”

The beta is blinded by his insistence on “equality” and relativism. He tells himself that staying in every night and playing video games is just as good a lifestyle as someone who is actively working to improve himself and garnering lots of attention from the ladies. To the beta, there’s no “better” or “worse,” it’s all about taking the path of least resistance and settling for what’s immediately available. Many college betas aren’t even fully aware there are groups of Chads running Game, monopolizing hot women, rigging the Housing lottery (happened every year at my school), and networking with other Chads to secure the best jobs. The beta refuses to make value judgments about things being higher or lower, since doing so would involve admitting that he is currently losing the Game. The Beta must not admit to this dirty little secret and therefore adopts a religious reverence for the ideal of “equality.” That’s fine. To people in the Game, it’s actually preferable for a majority to take this stance since it means there are fewer Players to compete against.

There are groups of people who are “into” whatever pleasure you can imagine – power, sex, money, social status etc. – and who know how to go about getting these things, since they are often taught the best strategies from a young age. Wealthy people, for instance, usually take on the mentality of an owner early on in life and align all their decisions – from who they hang out with to what they study in school – in order to maximize their odds of accumulating money. There is very much a “game” to money making. If you obviously violate the rules of the game, you will be weeded out and receive far fewer opportunities to make big bucks, even if you feel you’re just as capable as the douchey guy who just landed a 6-figure job right out of college.

Every “source of pleasure” works like this. You can learn how to run Game with women, or how to raise your social status, or how to come up on Wall Street. Study the guys who are successful, identify common patterns, and continually test out your theories in the real world for immediate feedback. The rules will begin to reveal themselves. Since some behaviors always work and some never work (for instance, being Alpha is always attractive to a majority of women), you will start to gain confidence because you now have objective knowledge. Life is so much easier when you actually know the damn rules. Then things stop being confusing, and you can just have fun.

There’s just one problem, though. The Game I’ve thus far described is very dark. Now, we at the Red Pill are fans of Machiavelli and Nietzsche. We get that embracing power and rising above the life of a sheep is certainly not “bad” in the traditional sense. It’s strong, life-affirming, and at the end of the day is rewarded in society. But what happens when you actually get tired of making money and effortlessly running Game? That thought may not cross the majority of men’s minds, but for people deep in the Game it’s a legitimate concern. What happens when all the world’s pleasure still isn't fulfilling? Remember the Bond flick The World is Not Enough?

At this point you start to move onto “Wisdom” and actually remove yourself from the Game. The Alpha/Master, you see, is still not free. He still relies on external gratification to get his kicks in life, and must expend great effort to maintain his status. There is no Alpha without the Beta and vice versa – they are locked into one interconnected system. Wisdom (i.e. Amused Mastery) is the ability to see the whole game, including the drawbacks of being an Alpha. This is the True Frame and actually reveals a very messed up reality. It is not particularly inspiring to look out at the world and see a weak and sickly beta-slave class governed by dark psychopath leaders, but that’s unfortunately what we’re dealing with.

True Frame brings Freedom. Now, you’re Free, so you can still dabble in parts of the game you enjoy. Sure, start a small business in an industry you’re passionate about, or bang the MILF down the street. As long as it’s inspired and doesn’t jeopardize your Freedom, then anything is in play. However, you will never again fall for the dependency the Game enforces on less enlightened Players. To reach this level is to live with amused mastery. At last, life is fun again. You burn with purpose and drive, and set many goals to strive towards. But, you also know that no matter what happens, nothing can really block your shine. You’ve already won the Game, and are assured to have the best of this life and the one to come.

Good luck.
